I never thought I would feel this way for my professor. Too bad he’s all I ever think about anymore…
When I met Theo Ware on my archaeological dig overseas, I knew that he was fifteen years older than me. That he was a single dad. A widower. A man who rarely smiled but always turned heads.
What I didn’t know was that he’d break my heart and come back to haunt me.
I had no idea he’d be my new professor back home, and he didn’t know I lived in Atlanta until I walked into his lecture hall.
Now, we’re both fighting to ignore a flame that won’t go out.
And although I like to look on the bright side of things, even I know this cannot end well.
I’ve never been with a man before, and he looks at me like he could ruin me and make me beg for more...
OFF-LIMITS GRUMPY SINGLE DAD by Alyssa Cobb dragged on for me since Joelle and Theo had the same arguments over and over again. They met during a dig in Scotland and once she left early without telling anyone or letting him know they never expected their paths would cross again. Surprise when she walks into his class during her senior year shortly thereafter.
Joelle often acted as the adult in the relationship but they were both inappropriate in thinking they could keep them a secret. She more often would push the boundaries. There were a few stories being told but they were sometimes disjointed. His young daughter was a nice addition who brought a lightness to the story with her childish wonder even if she was comfortable around adults and had a lot of knowledge of dinosaurs.
The story was told in alternating chapters by Joelle or Theo. She has a good support system and we learn about the reasons for her sunshiny attitude even when she shouldn’t be smiling. He’s too vested in his parents’ opinions. There is closure with the epilogue which takes place three months after the story ends and gives us the somewhat elusive happily ever after.
I rated the book 3.5 stars but rounded to 4 stars here and on other sites.

Off-limits Grumpy Single Dad was an absolute pleasure to read. There were times while reading this book, I was on the edge of my seat. I absolutely loved the professor/student, age-gap and I also thought the romance between the main characters to be quite forbidden. However, I do love that Joelle and Theo’s relationship does have a happily ever after to it. I absolutely enjoyed getting to know both Joelle and Theo as well as witnessing their amazing love story unfolding before my eyes. I would absolutely love to recommend this amazing book for anyone who is looking for a forbidden romance to read. I’m looking forward to reading more amazing romance books by Author Alyssa Cobb.

EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING about this romance book was BRILLIANT. The characters Theo and Joelle have tension, spice and romance that makes this romance read really enjoyable. When it first starts out it takes a few pages to really start to take off but hold on because the tension is just beginning as well as the roman even though Theo is supposed to be off limits. Alyssa, you have written an AMAZING romance read that everyone needs to be reading.

Joelle and Theo's love is forbidden in this professor/student story. It was emotionally charged, and the consequences of their feelings affect their lives more than expected. However, the chemistry between them was steamy and hot which added some excited to the plot. I enjoyed this story and found it entertaining.

The author has given us a wonderful older man/younger woman story that pulls us into the lives of Joelle and Theo. The story keeps us turning the pages with forbidden desires, connection, obstacles and steam.
