“Bite me again, gattina, and see just how far I'm willing to go.”
Loretta Giordano
Exiled by my stepmother, my twin sister and I start over in a new city, until one act of kindness ruins everything.
When the sexiest, most lethal man I've ever met confuses me for someone else, I vow to stay silent.
He's the mafia underboss my stepsister was supposed to marry, and he'll make me pay for sins I didn't commit.
Ermanno Mancini
They thought they’d killed me, yet here I am, full of rage and ready for revenge.
I'll hunt down and destroy everyone involved in the attack on my family. No one is innocent, especially not the sassy, curvy woman hiding my enemy with her silence.
I vow to break her and make her mine, no matter what it takes.
Brutal Vows (Vicious Mafia Kings Book 4) is a super spicy enemies to lovers arranged marriage dark mafia romance with forced proximity, a jealous/possessive hero, a strong, competent female lead, and a deliciously dirty battle of wills.
This story is intended for 18+ readers and includes mature content such as graphic violence, profanity, and other adult themes.
After getting started on Possessive Vows,i realized i needed to read Brutal Vows first. Because i met Loretta, who’d married Nico’s consigliere Ermanno, and needed to know a bit more about her first. Brutal Vows showed me a lot more than just a bit, though….because what she’s been through in her life, was horrible! The worst part was that it was her family that was responsible for everything….and all she’d ever done, was open the door to the police when she was only 8!! Yes,they killed her mother, but she was just a kid and didn’t know better, right?? Her twin sister Livia was a total bitch, and i hated her from the moment i met her. Ermanno was the first person that was kind to her…..after he realized she wasn’t her stepsister Julieta who’d betrayed him all those years ago. He saw her for the woman she was and decided to give her everything she needed for the rest of her life. Sadly, her twin wasn’t done with her…..and intended to hand her over to the very man Ermanno had been looking for. The man responsible for the threat against the family, for taking Serenity, for causing her sister Camilla’s traumas.
To deprive your twin of the touch, and the love, she needs to feel good,is pure evil. To have your family cast you out because of something you did as a child,is worse. In my opinion real family are those that love you,no matter what. That stand by you. And if family by blood aren’t able to give you that, then they’re not worth being your family. I was glad that Loretta found the family that gave her what she’d been deprived of all those years. And Ermanno was the one that gave it to her when he decided she was his.
“I’m yours, gattina. Use me however you need. I’ll always be by your side.”
He calls her mia gattina, she calls him mio sovrano and the chemistry and the clash of wills, the banter is explosive and absolutely delicious . Il consigliéri falls hard and nothing will stop him to claim and protect her even after kidnapping her due to the similarity with her half sister. One more great addiction to this series. Well written with a good world building ,characters that make you swoon and hot spicy scenes.

Wow! Loretta and Livia—twin sisters with blood ties to the mafia—were cast out of their family after a childhood mistake that has haunted Loretta into adulthood. Imagine carrying the guilt of your mother's death from something you did as an eight-year-old. Heartbreaking. Yet, you would think that being exiled with your twin sister would have made life easier, but nothing could be further from the truth. Livia wasn’t just cold, she weaponized their connection to isolate Loretta from the affection and human touch she craved. However, determined to stay far away from the criminal world that destroyed them, the sisters carve out a quiet life working at a clinic... until that peace is shattered. The Russian mob quite literally crashes into their world demanding they save their boss. And that’s just the start of their problems. When Ermanno, a man hell-bent on vengeance, mistakes Loretta for the woman who nearly ruined his family, all hell breaks loose. Taking her captive, it doesn’t take long, however, before he realizes he’s got the wrong woman—this isn’t Julietta, it’s Loretta Giordano. And she’s nothing like the manipulative enemy he thought he’d caught. I loved Loretta. She was fierce, loyal, and mentally unbreakable. She endured everything Ermanno threw at her with quiet strength, not to protect herself, but to protect the sister who’s never shown her an ounce of warmth. Their banter was electric. And that sparring match when she literally gave him a run for his money? Chef’s kiss. But Ermanno isn’t just a brooding mafioso with a vendetta— the more he learns about Loretta, the more he wants to protect her and make her his. The way he cares for her is tender. Consistent. Heart-melting. She’s never been anyone’s priority, but suddenly, she's the center of someone’s world and she lapped up all the attention. Their chemistry was off the charts—and when it ignites, it burns. Ermanno’s willingness to let her take what she needed from him—emotionally, physically, spiritually—was beautiful. He became her anchor, her shelter, her fire. And Loretta, in turn, found a family in the Russos and Ermanno’s father—something her own blood never gave her. The most gut-wrenching part was watching Loretta wrestle with the belief that as soon as Ermanno learned the full truth, he’d walk away. Her journey toward accepting love, trust, and belonging was powerful. And that twist at the end? I did not see that coming. But when Loretta makes her choice, it’s with fire and clarity. She shows exactly where she stands and proves that family isn’t always blood. It’s who shows up, stays, and fights for you. This story was intense, emotional, and utterly unforgettable – a worthy addition to this amazing series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy and am voluntarily reviewing it. We are with Nico Russo's right hand man and consigliere, Ermanno Mancini. After being hurt, he was recuperating for a while. A wonderful addition to series, I loved the interaction between Leona and Marcus and the loyalty for family This was a much-awaited book in this series and I have to say that I loved the interaction between Leona and Marcus, from a relationship that had started when he had believed her to be someone else their interactions were simply smoking hot and I know other readers will be blown away. Leona had been treated abysmally by her Mafia family and her father believing the lies of her half sister an evil and vindictive woman that wanted both her and her twin gone from the family and she succeeded in this aim and for over fourteen years they have been working in New York in a clinic where she is an anaesthetist and her twin is a surgeon. When she was initially being held captive whilst she convinced Marcus who she actually was and that they had not been in any way responsible for the attack on his Mafia head and pregnant wife, they had barely escaped with their life and he had almost died when his bullet proof vest failed. I love the way in which Nikki Blake the author writes so fully about the characters and you cannot help but find yourself rooting for this love story of sorts, it is a hard read at times and the cruelty and evilness of some family members are almost unbelievable. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

Loretta and Livia were cast out from their family at a very young age after something tragic happened. Even though they're twins, Livia is cold and unfriendly towards Loretta, blaming her for what happened all those years ago. They both work in the medical field, and when someone from the Bratva ends up on their operating table, the life they left crashes back in.
Ermanno, who is in the Mafia, is out to get revenge on those who attacked those close to him. Loretta has a half-sister, Julieta, whom he believes is responsible. He ends up taking Loretta, thinking that it was Julieta but it didn't take him long to realize that it wasn't Julieta that he had, and I loved how it didn't drag out!
This book was a bit of a slow burn, but they had an instant attraction, great banter, and a strong connection! When they finally came together, they were on fire!! Ermanno became very protective of Loretta and ended up really caring about her. She found Ermanno to be the one thing that she was missing in her life and was able to offer her safety and a found family!

Brutal Vows is a bit bonkers, but boy, did I enjoy reading it! What I liked about this book is that, while Ermanno and Loretta did fall in love quickly, it wasn’t insta-love between these two. Instead, Ermanno wants to avenge a long-held grudge while Loretta will do anything to keep her sister safe. When those two needs confront one another, it leads to a forced proximity/captor-captive situation that leads to much more.
Brutal Vows has super-intense love scenes, a couple that likes to hurt as much as they like to love, and some strong fight sequences. And I loved that Ermanno didn’t linger too long with a case of mistaken identity. I struggled with some of the timeline for when things happened to Loretta that drove her decisions for over fifteen years—the distance from the time when the incident that drove her happened didn’t add up to her current age. Loretta lived in a self-imposed martyrdom for decades that was implausible. She craved touch, but she wouldn’t seek it out from anyone but her twin? That seemed odd. And I truly couldn’t figure out the motivations behind Loretta’s twin at all. I hope that’s something Bonds addresses in future books in this series.
So yeah, this is a bonkers read, but I had a lot of fun with it. I wanted to find out what crazy thing Loretta and Ermanno would get up to next.
Brutal Vows is a little wild, but I had so much fun reading it!
What I really appreciated about this story is that while Ermanno and Loretta do fall for each other quickly, it’s not some clichéd insta-love. Ermanno is out for revenge over a long-held grudge, and Loretta is desperate to protect her sister. When those goals clash, it sets up a delicious forced proximity/captor-captive situation that turns into something much deeper.
The book delivers on intense love scenes, a couple who seem to enjoy hurting as much as loving, and some solid fight sequences. I also liked that Ermanno didn’t drag out the whole mistaken identity issue — he figured things out in a reasonable time.
That said, I did struggle with the timeline around Loretta’s past. The math on how old she is versus how long she’s been holding on to this trauma just didn’t quite add up. Her self-imposed martyrdom over decades felt a little far-fetched. She craves touch, but won’t accept it from anyone but her twin? That felt off. And honestly, I couldn’t make sense of the twin’s motivations at all. Hopefully, Bonds clears that up in future books.

This is another good read in the Vicious Mafia Kings series. Loretta is in hiding and for years she has been safe but one day changes everything. Her life is turned upside down when a man from the world Loretta is hiding from zeros in on her. Ermanno is not taking no as an answer and he will have his way no matter what. The chemistry between Loretta and Ermanno is off the charts. The two are made for one another. Soon it may not just be what Ermanno wants but what Loretta wants as well, if only she can find a way to trust that Ermanno is different and will not fail her like everyone else. I loved these two and seeing their relationship take shape. Their bond grows and deepens as they spend more time together. It was nice to see Loretta find her strength with the support of Ermanno. These two quickly endeared themselves to this reader to become my favorite couple of this series. Their story moves at a good pace and pulled me in right from the start. It is full of emotions and has a good amount of action to keep you engaged.

Brutal Vows is quite suspenseful and a page turning mafia romance story. The characters are well developed and beautifully executed throughout the story. The story is amazingly written, exceptionally balanced with action/romance and beautifully executed by V.T. Bonds. This author continues to showcase what a phenomenal author they are with each book I’ve read by them thus far. Brutal Vows follows the story of Ermanno and Loretta. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know both of these characters as well as seeing the feelings they develop for one another grow stronger as their story progresses forward. The chemistry between Ermanno and Loretta is undeniably irresistible to the point where neither one of them could no longer ignore the feelings they developed for one another. I absolutely love that Ermanno and Loretta have a happy ending to their story with them being happy together as a married couple. I would most certainly encourage other readers to checkout and give Brutal Vows a read. I’m looking forward to reading more fantastic romances from this author in the future.

I like the middle to the end story, but the first part? I got questions for the first part. When Loretta talk about connection with her twin, why it sounded like supernatural thing and not an instinc between twins? Loretta keep saying about how she was touch deprived. But, i dont see or did i missed on why from the author? From the age she was "exile" from her family, she was just a child, who took care of her? The background bit sketchy for me. Then the love thing. Ermanno wants her, i can understand lust. But love? In such short amount of time? Unless this book said insta luv, for Ermanno to feel love in that time, dont feel right for me.
Like i said before, i like the middle to last part. The main charachters chemistry grow. Loretta's fear of abandonement, getting stronger wuth Ermanno persistent aka possesiveness. While Ermanno, like how he always tells her to use him whenever and however she need him. He become her anchor and pillar, is exactly what she need.

WOW!!! Where do I start! This is a new to me author and something about this story just grabbed me and hooked me in big time. I loved that I ended up reading the fourth book of the series but I never felt lost and the plot was sooo good the book can stand all on its own. This book gave me a book hangover and I don't get those very often and an it was so good. I have been wanting a good mafia story but not have the same story done over and over, and this author just knocked it out of the park for me. I am now looking into the rest of the series cause I so have to catch up to the other couples that I have come to love in such a few short pages. The chemistry between Ermanno and Loretta was off the charts and a lot of fun to read. I loved how Ermanno ended up giving Loretta exactly what she needed and had been missing all her life. I loved every moment of this book and every surprise that followed I didn't see coming. You so don't want to miss out on this book. I will so be checking out more books by this author!!
Ermanno Mancini is “the man my stepsister wanted to use for her own gain but couldn’t. The most lethal man in the New York City mafia scene”- and unfortunately for Loretta, he has taken her to get the answers he needs, for the safety of the Russo family he has vowed to safeguard. But Loretta has her own twin sister and secrets to keep safe from discovery. When Ermanno realizes the error of his mistaken identity for the woman he had known many years ago, he was still not ready to let her go. Loretta is fierce and strong willed, but she has a very tender, undernourished spirit: “No one has ever taken care of me like this. I’ve craved this level of devotion my entire life. It’s ironic and bittersweet that this brutal mafia man is the one to give me what I want most.”
I had delved into this story, but it was so engrossing, I now feel the need to read the other stories to catch up on the tales I have missed! Will look forward to more books from this author, especially in this genre!
This book is everything you love about mafia/dark romance and more. I was hooked from the start. This author has such an incredible way with words that drags you into the story and makes you feel like a part of the familia.
Ermanno Mancini is consigliere to the Russo family and is hunting the man who hurt his family. He comes across Loretta Giordana who he mistakes for her step sister Julietta. He sets out to make her pay for the sins of her step sister until he realizes she isn’t who he thinks she is.
Loretta has fought hard to stay above water after being disowned by her family. She and her twin sister moved to NYC to start a new life only to be taken by Ermanno and dragged back into a world she thought she escaped from.
This story has so many twists and turns it kept me on my toes the entire time.

MFC Loretta Giordano is in trouble after being mistaken for her conniving stepsister Julieta by Mafia consigliere MMC Ermanno Mancini. When gunfire and mayhem break out in the street at the outpatient clinic where she works Loretta doesn’t hesitate to rush into the fray to render medical assistance to any wounded. That’s when her past comes back to haunt her. Brutal Vows is the fourth book in the Vicious Mafia Kings series and another scorching hot good read that delivers its twist and turns within a dangerous merging of revenge, vulnerabilities, family dynamics, intrigue, and violence. Taken by Ermano from the scene and not telling him of his mistake sets them both on a path to some very fiery enemies-to-lovers, battle of wills. Enjoyed the good writing, and characterizations, in a narrative that kept the action, drama, emotion, spice, and tension high in a very engaging story. HEA.

Loretta finds herself in the middle of a war she wants nothing to do with. She's just doing her job and trying to keep everyone and the one person she has left, alive. The last thing she needs is her past pulling her into something she doesn't want, but somehow needs. Ermanno is just trying to do his job when he comes across a face from his past. Thinking there's more going on than meets the eye, he take Loretta, not realizing she's not who he think she is. Neither of them expect to feel the way they do about one another but they'll do whatever needs to be done to keep one another.
Definitely was not expecting the ending for this one. I hurt for Loretta so much but I am glad she found someone who saw her worth. Sometimes, blood doesn't really matter when there's no one standing next to or for you. Great addition to the series! Can't wait to see what the author has in store for us next.
"Brutal Vows" is the second book in V.T. Bonds "Vicious Mafia Kings" series. It's everything I love about mafia and dark romance, and more. I was hooked from the very beginning. This author has an incredible way with words that immerses you in the story and makes you feel like part of the family.
The story follows Ermanno Mancini, the consigliere of the Russo family, as he hunts for the man who harmed his family. During his pursuit, he mistakenly identifies Loretta Giordana as her stepsister Julietta. Ermanno intends to make Loretta pay for her stepsister's sins, but he soon realizes the woman is not who he thought she was.
Loretta has fought hard to stay afloat after being disowned by her family. She and her twin sister moved to New York City to start anew, only for her to be captured by Ermanno and dragged back into a world she believed she had escaped. This story is filled with twists and turns that kept me on my toes the entire time.
am completely in love with this series. It just gets better with each book. I like that they can be standalone books, but it is so much better when read in order to get the full effect of the complexity of the characters and the intense bonds they share. Loretta is isolated and touch-starved, resigned to live a life of being unseen and meaningless. Ermanno is her person. He sees who she is and loves her all the more for it. He takes care of her from the start. And while it is complicated, he proves time and time again that she will never be alone again. Likewise, she is able to give him a safe place, a place where he can trust that he will be accepted for who he is and what he does. Just amazing to read and so perfect it is not even funny.

Loretta and her twin were exiled from their mafia family and have hidden out in New York for years. But they've recently gotten pulled into a mafia feud with the locals, not as combatants, but through their medical practice. When Loretta is mistaken for another, she's captured by Emanno. When he discovers she's not who he thought he decides to keep her anyway. He's not only attracted to her, but loves her sass and attitude. Loretta has always been the outcast, even within her own family. The caring Emanno showers on her confuses her while at the same time attracting her. But they both are in danger and the twisty ending was not one I was expecting. My only issue with the entire story was the odd, supernatural "connection" she supposedly had with her twin. Nevertheless, we got a great HEA with no break up for no reason issue. Loving this series.
This was another intense read, filled with lots of things that may trigger some readers, so be prepared for the story to leap off the first page and not stop until the last. Ermanno and Loretta had such a strong connection and hot chemistry but their romance unfolds at a slower pace, which makes sense for how they came together. My heart about broke for Loretta. She’s had an awful past and her sister was not a good sister. Loretta is touch deprived, desperately wants to belong and would love to be part of a family. Ermanno has to earn her trust but she’s the centre of his world... Expect to get caught up in the action, drama, danger, gore, strong emotions, twists and intense plot when you dive into this engaging mafia romance. Definitely a page turner, for me, and worthy of a prime spot on my re-read shelf :D
While I struggled a bit with the third book I the series, this fourth installment feels like a return to form. The start pulled the reader right into the action and created a good understanding of the MFC Loretta. The MMC Ermmano and her had good chemistry and you saw the growth in their relationship, particularly the strength it brought out in Loretta. There were some good twists in the plot. I felt after meeting the pace of the novel did slow down a bit too much for my liking while he held a hostage (but I'm not a fan of that general scenario so that might have been a factor). However the pace improved greatly afterwards. The books plot pushed the series quite a bit further and I'm really looking forward to reading Camilla s story next.

I loved reading this book all I wanted to do was get to the end of the book to find out was it going to be a happily ever after! This was a revenge for a family trying to erase another family now someone has come back with a vengeance. Loretta and Julieta, were shunned from their family home, but their brother sent them further away so they can't be found or so he thought. When Ermanno Marcini, comes into town to deal with two girls from the family he wants to eradicate and he will start in this town. He caught up with one, while he tries to find one while the other is somewhere else. The twins don't live together or work together anymore after an incident but love blossoms which only gets hotter.

Three Look-Alike Sisters Lethal Mafia men with honor? Being good husbands and fathers? Seems impossible, but Ms Bonds makes them alive and believable. I love them too. Strong, possessive, with their hearts in the right place. Finding the one strong, sassy women who are perfect for them. That’s what this series is about, while leading me on a rollercoaster of action and suspense. Grins and laughs, some tears and shared feelings of betrayal. Not to mention all the steam that rises from the pages. Family is everything. That is the right family, not necessarily through blood. So very true. Join these families and have a wonderful time reading about them. I am! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I loved the book. I read it in 2 days. VT has taken the standard mafia romance and added her on unique spin on it. The characters are strong and fend for themselves. Loretta has lived in hell most of her life. She has done everything to distance her twin and herself from their west coast mob family including their b*t(h stepsister. Ermanno is after the thugs that kidnapped the boss’s pregnant wife. During a shootout at the clinic the twins work at Loretta is recognized by Ermanno believing she is the b*t(h stepsister. Ermanno takes her prisoner. This starts the new lives for Ermanno and Loretta. The book has some triggers so be sure to read them. I recommend this book for mafia romancer lover!
VT Bonds’ new book, Brutal Vows, is the 4th entry in her Vicious Mafia Kings series, and it is SO hot I'd swear it left burn marks in my brain. How does she come up with such racy spicy scenes!? When I'm done reading one of her smutty tomes you could ring me out like a sopping wet dishrag… The storyline in this book is really the best part, though. The way Ermanno responded to the suffering Loretta went through, caused by her own family, melted my heart. And the scene in the dressing room prior to the wedding just slayed me! However, this is a mafia tale, of course, and the action is often quite graphic, so be aware. Loved this one, and I can't wait for the next book, featuring previously introduced character, Camilla!
Loretta was a woman alone despite the amount of people surrounding her daily, at the clinic. Even with a sister whom she worked with and lived near, she was lonely. Desperate for a simple touch. In storms Ermanno, kidnapping her and saving her from the dark hole in her heart. He is a man of loyalty and strength. He shows Loretta that she is more than what her blood family has led her to believe. He shows her what true family is like and what it is to truly be loved. There is action along with this dark romance. Loretta shows her strength physically, with fist, teeth and nails. I wish the author did not leave us hanging regarding what happens with Loretta's family, especially her sister.

Know your triggers with that said if you are looking for a great mafia read this is it. Loretta and her twin were exiled from their mafia family and have stayed hidden for years until fate changes her life. Ermanno Mancini is consigliere to the Russo family and is hunting for someone when he comes across a woman enemy…kidnapping her to make her pay for her sins. From there we have an intense page turning lover journey with mistaken identity, feisty strong FMC, possessive MMC, hot hot spice, mafia life, found family and so many twists and turns. Ermanno’s devotion to Loretta was swoon-worthy. Such a good read.
