There are only three things Michelle Dayton loves more than sexy and suspenseful novels: her family, the city of Chicago, and Mr. Darcy. Michelle dreams of a year of world travel – as long as the trip would include weeks and weeks of beach time. As a bourbon lover and unabashed wine snob, Michelle thinks heaven is discussing a good book over an adult beverage.

Emily Austin is wondering how to handle the situation in front of her. Her named partner at the law firm where she is an attorney gave her a ten-minute notice before he dropped his best friend and daughter in her office for a mentoring chat. As she takes in the daughter's face she realizes that she wasn't the only one ambushed. The daughter had obviously thought she was going to lunch with her father.

Emily Austin Saturn knew all about fathers and their expectations being the sole heir to a billionaire. She just had to make this father realize that being a lawyer was not in his daughter's best interest. But, at least it takes her mind off her own problems.

When she arrived at her rental apartment after having a panic attack on the street when the date caught her eye she decided to get a head start on her meeting with Bella in the morning. She needed to chase away the memories. September 13 a year to the date that she met Bobby. Married for six months before she left their home and ran as far as she could. Today she had called her attorney for file for divorce.

But when she opens her email she looks in shock at the new email. It had to be spam. She really shouldn't open it because surely Bobby's email had been hacked. She hadn't spoken to him in month. But, there it was a personally designed virtual escape room invitation.

I absolutely loved this story! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This story grabbed my attention from page one and I couldn't put it down. If you have read this series from the beginning you will recognize the name Bobby March giving this story an even bigger twist.

This book is action-packed, full of suspense, romance and smoking hot chemistry. The storyline was full of twists and turns and surprises. I totally loved Bobby's approach to trying to get Emily back. I cried at Bobby's pain and when we finally found out the reason for Emily's decision. This second-chance romance has all the feels.

Highly recommend!

This is the 3rd book in a 4 book series. While you can read this book independently, I think you'd get so much more from the story if you started at book 1, The Love Hack or book 2, Cupid Tricks. As I've progressed through the series, I've enjoyed each book more.

Emily Savage lost her mother 6 years ago and she still misses her terribly. Her father is a billionaire and he's been at a loss as well. He briefly got engaged to another woman and the woman broke it off. Ever since, Emily and her father, have had a different relationship than they did before.

Emily also fell madly in love with Bobby, but she decided she wasn't happy, even though he'd done nothing wrong and he was madly in love with her, as well. She was a highly successful lawyer but in brutal work weeks. She left her job and Bobby and moved across the country, to NYC, where she worked brutal hours again.

Then a young woman came to see her about an Intellectual Property case, which grabbed Em's attention. She was also intrigued by the woman who recommended Em for the job. So she took a trip to Chicago to see what she could learn and to figure out how to win an unwinnable law suit.

I was emotionally involved in this book and I couldn't wait to see how it ended. I must say, I shed a few tears at the end. I'm looking forward to reading book 4 in this series.

would possibly give it a 3.5 ⭐️ if I gave half stars out, and I am kind of in two minds between giving it a 3 or a 4 star.

don’t really tend to like second chance romances but this one wasn’t too bad, I really do like bobby and emily’s dynamic a lot more than I liked jo and jamie’s although I liked their initial concept a lot better. tess and max’s is still #1 for me, and I liked seeing all of the characters come together in this one.

really loved that emily’s story was on her grief and so in depth rather than miscommunication just being the reason that she left bobby. although I do think emily’s character can go back and forth eg she isn’t a very stable character if that makes sense? similar to jo in the previous book, some decisions that emily makes don’t really make sense with her character like how she slept with bobby knowing that she was going to regret it and that she had already processed the divorce papers. or how she knows she shouldn’t open the mazes bobby makes for her yet does it anyway.

overall I didn’t hate or dislike the book by any means, it just wasn’t my favourite and the fact that it took me a month to read it probably has impacted what I think, but I’m trying to stay as unbiased as I can. I wouldn’t reread the book as a stand-alone but I would if I decided to reread the technically-love series.
