The adventure reaches new heights with the highly anticipated third and final installment of Wayne Thomas Batson and Christopher Hopper's award winning series, The Berinfell Prophecies: The Tide of Unmaking - Book 3. Seven years have passed since the Lords of Berinfell - Tommy, Kat, Jimmy, Johnny, Autumn and Kiri Lee - watched the horror of Vesper Crag wash away, as well as their fallen kinsman, Jett Green. But with Grimwarden in exile, the realm of Berinfell finds itself ill-equipped to weather the coming storms. Kiri Lee begins to whisper of ghostly visitations. Taeva, Princess of the Taladrim, desperately seeks out the Elves of Berinfell to rescue her kingdom. And the genocidal Drefid Lord Asp launches his campaign to conquer Allyra. And Earth. But far worse still is a consuming terror on the horizon: an unstoppable force that threatens to devour all creation and all hope. Nations will crumble, loyalties will be tested, and even the might of Berinfell’s Lords may not be enough to stem The Tide of Unmaking.
Wayne Thomas Batson was born in Seabrook, MD in 1968. He had an adventurous childhood and adolescence that included: building forts in the woods, crabbing and crayfishing in bays, ponds, and bayous, playing lead guitar in a heavy metal band, and teaching tennis lessons at the local recreation center. He attended Gabriel DuVal Senior High School where he wrote for the school’s newspaper and literary magazine. He was voted “Most Talented” in his senior year, and wrote this for his Yearbook Senior Goal: “To become a published author.” Little did he know that God had even greater plans.
Wayne Thomas Batson has spent the last thirty years teaching Reading and English to Maryland middle school students. Wayne Thomas Batson lives in Eldersburg with his extraordinary wife of 26 years. His four adult children intermittently live at home whenever their unexpected adventures lead them.
Batson’s writing career began in 2005 with the publication of fantasy epic, The Door Within. Since then, The Door Within, The Final Storm, Isle of Swords, and Isle of Fire have all appeared on the CBA Young Adult Bestseller List, including #2 for The Final Storm Fall 2007. To date, Batson has penned or coauthored seventeen novels and has sold well over half a million copies.
Wayne Thomas Batson gives thanks to God for the abundant life he’s been given. He continues to write for the people he cares so deeply about because he believes that, on a deep level, we all long for another world and yearn to do something important.
I mean this in the nicest way possible--this series should have just ended at book 2.
As much as I somewhat enjoyed this book, I felt like the story wasn't necessary. I was excited to know that seven years had passed yet everything was still the same...? There wasn't any advancement in abilities, relationship statuses were the same and the Lords hadn't really grown or matured that much more. So, what was the point?
Overall, I found it very refreshing to read stories that involved God and expressed His true character as opposed to other authors who share their twisted reality of Him.

I think the first one is the best. At the end of this book the authors have given fans permission to write fan fiction based on their stories and encouraged them to get them published. It was so awesome!! I have never heard of authors doing that before.
I... just... I don't know what to do. *Sobs* I just had a moment of intense sadness/anger. How could you do this to me Mr. Hopper and Mr. Batson? I love your books! LOVE THEM. And you've just... just... UGH! I might review this later. Right now I'm too unhappy. Yet not. How do I feel? I'll tell you later.
I love these books! I have read them all many times and still enjoy them each and every time! I love how symbolic it is and how it represents God. thank you for taking me out of this crazy world and showing me courage, kindness, love, and fortitude and every thing else in this book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my god this book sounds so amazing I need it! I read the first 2 books in this series and they blew me away, now I NEED this one to make my life complete!
better written than the others, but still a lot of errors. bit hypocritical at the end, encouraging others to continue the stories with the stipulation of good writing, good proofing, and good editing when they don't seem to accomplish that themselves. I like the idea of others continuing the series, but if they're self-published I'll never read them, so I do not like all the loose threads, especially what did Taeva decide?
It was ok, therefore a 3 star rating. Nothing new or inspiring for me. I would have liked to have seen more time between the Seven and their parents on Earth. 10 minutes is too little. The whole plot seems artificial and I didn't connect with anything, really. I liked the first book a lot. I don't think they needed a third one.

A masterfully written story-not heavy with pending romance but just enough-not overwhelming with improbability but just enough to imagine-not so far from reality but just out of reach.
Corny and cliche as Christian teen fantasy, but in the same way 80's action movies are. Entertaining but not very well written. Typos throughout, but a good time overall.
This trilogy wrapped up nicely. I enjoyed how all the parts came together and left a little piece not all they way attached to let your mind wonder about Berinfell's future. My favorite part is still the gnomes, I love them, especially when hitching a ride on a bow. The enemy was not prepared for mini devils. My favorite quote would be, "I wonder, if perhaps, hell is most populated by men who were just following orders."
it is a good reading. it has many twists and many new ideas. just have many parts have unnecessary details = I can skip them still not effect to know what's happening. lack of the detail of jett's change and struggling. It still keep it's good moral, good chacters, good team works, good encouragment between each others. The mutation part get a little bit scary, thanks God it not that much but still bring some uncomfortable.
This book was spectacular. I had no idea how everything would wrap up in the final chapters but they pulled it off expertly. The characters are just as I remembered them, but with a mix of childishness and wisdom you'd expect from now 20 year old rulers. The romances were subtle and sweet and well worth the occasional swoon. Though the authors' note at the end in a must read; a call for stories written and published by fans continuing the saga.
For me this was the best book in the series. I LOVED it! Three words for you: READ THE BOOK! Also, I understand any supreme sadness after finishing this book simply because it's gone and part of me wishes that books like this would last forever and I'd never have to stop reading them.
3.5 stars! I have mixed feeling about this book. They ended it with many loose ends, On purpose! They wanted their readers to write more about it. Which is soo cool! But I'll miss Tommy, Jimmy, Johnny, Kiri Lee, Kat, Autumn and Jett!
review 6/20/2024 I loved the characters, especially Tommy and Kat😊 I also liked the whole thing with The story was just a little slow though, so I’m not sure if I’d read it again.
