Remedial Magic: A Dream's Price

If only we had known what we’d lose...

There is still so much left to say of Aldric’s origins. A disgrace turned hero and royal bodyguard is only half the story, if you can believe that.

I have yet to tell you of the savior who pulled a city out from the dirt and polished it into a gleaming jewel. The adventurer who forever changed all who knew him without even meaning to. The friend who left the only home he’d ever known to chase a long-forgotten dream.

But dreams are not free. And you never know the cost until fate comes to collect.

I must ask you do not judge Aldric until my story is done. He is a hero, a Demon, and maybe even a monster all wrapped into one. But he is also a man. And every man fails at least once.

May you know your beloved professor as I do. And may you find it within yourselves to forgive him.

* This book is part two of a two-part prequel to the series Remedial Magic. It is highly recommended you read all books in order before continuing the series.

Wow, just wow

Not to be ungrateful but, Mr. Gregg left me wanting more. The way he weaves this story makes your run the gamut of emotions. I laughed, I cheered, and I cried (boy did I cry). All our favorite characters are back with a richly woven tale of struggle, finding one's place, triumph, defeat, and third chances. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. Please continue to give us amazing books like this.

this is classic trope minus plot…

The first couple of books were OK, and the author is a good writer in terms of grammar, etc. but he over uses the classic tropes… Main character, works hard and suffers, and become strong, unrequited love that he keeps ignoring past the point of all sanity… childish self-flagellation, for no reason, most of the time he’s practical and resolute, but then has insane levels of self doubt which is only designed to keep the readers in going for multiple chapters,… The love interest, Trope just kept dragging and dragging, and made it essentially unreadable past the middle of the book… and that’s before we even get to the overdone, protagonist, trope, etc.

Stunning Depth

I absolutely adore this series. The way the plot appears and then gets completely upturned when a new fact is revealed is great, the fact that it happens over and over again as a seemingly natural progression to the story is stunning. The characters have depth and believability and the author manages to create a deep emotional connection to them. It's rare that a book can drag me on a genuine emotional rollercoaster but this one did it with aplomb. It has got good pacing and is hard to put down once you get in to jt.

Definitely start with book 1 but if you haven't read this series yet, you absolutely must.

This is the fourth book in this series and so far this is the best one. It grabbed me from the beginning and I just kept reading til the last page. This book continues to with describing Aldrc's life and how he became who he is. I found myself cheering for Aldric and his friends through all the good and bad things they went through. The character growth in this book was fantastic and Nathan Gregg's world building skills are so creatively phenomenal. I am excited to see what happens next in this series. I definitely recommend reading this series!

Long but good

I enjoyed this book and it was engaging through most of it except some passages that were long and I tended to skip through those sections.
