What a captivating, emotionally rich, and cleverly layered mystery! Secrets of Love & Danger pulled me in from page one with its sharp writing, deeply human characters, and an ever-twisting plot that refuses to let you go.

As a reader, I was especially drawn to how the story balanced the tension of a murder investigation with the tender—and sometimes messy—truths about love, loyalty, and personal sacrifice. Stella Kirk shines once again as a brilliant yet relatable protagonist, and her dynamic with Aiden North adds both emotional weight and moral complexity to the story.

This isn’t just a whodunit. It’s a slow-burning unraveling of relationships, secrets, and the quiet ways we betray or protect the ones we love. The 1982 setting added just the right touch of nostalgia without ever feeling distant. I found myself pausing often—not because I was bored, but because I needed to sit with the emotional impact of certain revelations.

If you enjoy mysteries that are just as much about the why as the who, this is a must-read. A powerful exploration of vows, deception, and the gray areas of love and justice. Five stars, without question.

This was the first book of the series that I read and I was unfamiliar with it before winning a contest on Facebook wherein the author would use my name for one of the minor characters in the book. I can't describe how odd, fun, and funny it was to see my (full) name mentioned several times throughout the book. I'm glad I won that contest because I might never have known about this series otherwise. I like the main character, the supporting regular characters, and the story itself. The mystery involved has just enough twists and turns, possible suspects, and red herrings to keep you guessing for a while. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and have added the others in the series to my wishlist to read.
