Hello, readers! I rarely visit this space, but if you’d like to connect, you can find me on my blog or social media, where I’m most active. Thank you for your support, and happy reading!
I’ve been hooked on the Fated Mates series so naturally I downloaded this book to read…plus that lil drawing of Tristian on the cover is fine 😂
I liked this book, but it just didn’t hit the same way that “Claiming Gabriel” and “Taming Kane” did. Don’t get me wrong though. I was into Tristian and Ebony’s story, but Tristian didn’t make me swoon like Gabriel and Kane did. Ebony, however, did become my favorite of the three women (Olivia and Tami). I really liked her curiosity and how strong-willed she was. I wish she had a little more fight in her though. Ain’t no way you can just walk away after getting slapped so hard that it left a bruise.
With the title being “Chasing Ebony” and Kade mentioning “don’t run from your bear”, I thought Ebony being reluctant to everything would be a big thing. Homegirl was very compliant and just asked questions when she didn’t understand something. Ebony only ran from Tristian twice—one of which was just after they met (and she wasn’t even running then. She just went home).
I also liked the cameos and little updates from Gabriel and Olivia. Torrin and Nala also had a cameo, which I was happy about, but what was revealed surprised the hell out of me. I just *knew* they were going to be adopted siblings.
If you download the bonus scene, you’ll get a few more updates on Tristian and Ebony as well as the impending war subplot. There’s a big development in the fight against the radicals so definitely download the bonus scene if that subplot interests you.
This series continues to be interesting. Tristian and Ebony were extremely cute but the overall plot is the most interesting to me. Finding out how the shifters are going to combat the radicals and prepare for the Great War all while finding their fated mates.
Eh, hmmm.... I'm not a 🍑 person. Booty play comes up a lot in these freaky deaky books. I usually just skip the scenes. But lordt when the MMC did you know what in the licky & flicky variety I finally understood what Jhene Aiko was bragging about how that man handled her groceries.
Whew....When the sexy bear shifter with the fresh fade says, "You're going to pour your come down my tongue." I slid out my chair 5 Heartbeats style
This is after homeboy looked her dead in the eye and said I'm going to make sure you feel so good you won't have a choice but be my mate and promptly sucked the soul out her vajajay
This book was spicy with great smut scenes but I keep coming back because the info drop. Vanilla scent in her blood = Madagascar. References to anti shifter aggression = sundown towns, segregation policies are all a taste of heaviness, but you never feel it because the cheesy humor keeps it light.
I was extremely excited when I started this series. The previous books held my attention and were pretty good. Now, the storyline is becoming waaayy too repetitive. I'm just reading the same story, just different names and different types of shifters. At this point, I'm ready for the war with Aya. I'm going to push through to prepare for Amirs book. However, I'm not thrilled. I just need to see how this wraps up. Hopefully, I can finish sooner rather than later.
This had so much potential! I realized it was a novella about halfway through, so im not sure i was supposed to start with the short books first (oopsies!) However, this book had so much going for it!
I loved the initial plot and the idea. Loved it down. Beautiful cover too. However...
The speed at which this book moved? Its a no from me. And listen i get that it was a novella but....two days in? TWO DAYS? and then we get a random week jump and then like a month and then 6 and shes preggie?? Listen i get paranormal moves faster i get it but golly geeeeee. it kinda killed the book for me i won't lie 😭. Like i know fated mates skims the line of insta love because its fate, but this like dove into being insta love which ehhhhhhhhh. Not my favorite personally. Hoping to read the actual series and not the novella one eventually still, so looking forward to that!!!
The writing in this was CHEFS kiss. I really hope this author has some longer books, because if not she needs to get on it quickkkk.
What a lovely story of another Wintermoon couple !!! Ebony is starting an adventure as a teacher, and she is so excited that she accepts her roommates invite to a double date, even though she doesn't really want to. As supernaturals have joined society, it seems that human rights are slowly being taken away. As a minority, she feels the pain, although everyone seems to be banding together to fight the supernatural threat. What threat ,Ebony has no idea. But once they step into this bar, all becomes clear. Tristian is a powerful bear shifter , who has Bern in assignment. Now that he is back , he wants one more chance to check for his fated mate. Fate obliges. Ebony and Tris have almost instant chemistry that pops off the page, and I am always happy for a trip to Winter moon !!!
This is a short story in between the Wintermoon series. You don’t need to read the first two to read this one, but you should! Tristian is first introduced in Gabriel’s book. He was with Gabriel when they saved the pups, then left with Hazel and Damon to NY. Tristian is struggling, he hasn’t found is mate, but he knows she’s close. He also needs to hibernate, but doesn’t want to go home to hibernate without his mate. Ebony is set to go on a blind date, but she really doesn’t want to and she feels uncomfortable about the date and the bar. Fate intervenes and brings them together. These two are 🥵 🔥 💣 🤤 🌶️ together. This was my first bear shifter story and I really enjoyed it!
So, I just realized I started this out of order, but I MUST finish this series. This series is a short story series to the main series. I have to read the main series first.
A bear shapeshifter who is fated to only one person. I love it! I love the world building and how it’s the shapeshifter’s job to find his mate. Once found, theirs a “pull” for the mate. The level of comfort, love, and respect they have for each other was exciting to read.
I like how the author brought racism into this world. The “radicals” don’t like shapeshifters or fated mates (supernatural lovers) and the discourse between them was exciting to read. First time reading from this author, but won’t be my last. I have to finish all of these books.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What can I say?! I cannot get enough of Tessa Stone’s books! 📚💫 I devoured this one in a single sitting—it was that good. The world-building between Wintermoon and the human realm is so immersive and compelling, especially with the way Tessa weaves in political and racial themes through the supernatural lens. 🌍🧛🏾♀️✨
There’s also a good amount of spice to keep things extra interesting 😏🔥—just enough to make your heart race without overpowering the plot!
One of my absolute favorite moments (no spoilers!) was the sweet little clue left for Ebony that tied her to Tristian. 💌 It made my heart melt! 🥹
If you haven’t stepped into the world of Wintermoon yet, what are you waiting for?! I highly recommend diving in! 🌕🔮🔥
I love me some Tristian! Even though this is a short story, this may be my favorite book of the series so far. Tristian did not come to play. He was on timing from the word go. Once he saw that the radicals had hurt Ebony, it was on and popping. He refused to stand in the face of intolerance and just turn a blind eye; he didn’t care anything about this supposed “diplomacy.” Beyond that, compared to Kane and even Gabriel, Tristian is FILTHY. Good and nasty. And I was here for it.
⭐️⭐️⭐️Chasing Ebony had the potential to be a solid 5-star read — the writing is strong, the characters are layered, and the chemistry between the leads is undeniable. However, the heavy focus on politics and themes of female and Black victimhood took away from the story’s emotional depth and romance. I was especially disappointed by how the author seemed to associate American patriotism with bigotry, which felt unnecessary and distracting from the otherwise powerful storyline. It’s a well-written book, but the messaging overshadowed the magic.
The novel captivates readers with its intricate blend of romance and political tension, masterfully weaving Tristan and Ebony's passionate journey from their serendipitous first encounter. Their love transcends the complex external challenges, creating a powerful narrative that explores both personal connection and broader societal dynamics. The story's strength lies in its ability to demonstrate how genuine emotional bonds can flourish even amid challenging circumstances, ultimately celebrating the resilience of human connection. Great Read. ReneeG
I absolutely love this book. It was a short and quick read, but that’s just what the doctor ordered. I love how Fate sends Tristan into enemy territory and Tristan doesn’t know why, until he bumps into his fated mate. Port Ebony, after being assaulted, she runs straight into her bear mate and let’s just say, she has nothing else to worry about. Great book, amazing story and I can’t wait to read more.
Okay so this is one of my top favorites from you! As a stan of the oldest brother from Brother Bear, a crush I just unlocked, shows why I love me a bear shifter, just hadn’t seen them much in the books! This right here could have been 1000 pages and still I would’ve craved more! Tristan and Ebony are so so awesome! I loved this entire book from start to finish! I love your talent and this amazing series!
Love this addition to the Wintermoon series Ebony and Tristan belonged together and this story of how they meet was full of action and insta love on Tristan’s part We see some of the characters from the previous books and they made the story a real page turner I know we are not finished with stories about Wintermoon and Fated Mates Bring it on Tessa I love your stories
Getting my stories to read during the Holidays and this was one of them. Glad I got it, I would have let Tristian show Trey why he needed to leave me alone. For a minute I was thinking something else, when it mentioned Trey. Makes you wonder what all is the radicals going to do to stop those that is fated for the shifters. Well I will be reading to find out.
Love how Tessa Stone captures the reader(me) with an amazing story of not only love and passion but devotion and loyalty. Just to think about being cursed 1000 years and still having to find your fated mate then still being patient enough once you find them to get to know them and allow them to grasps the importance of their choice. And to learn about their new mates and their new community… I’m so glad I’ve found another author that captivates my imagination.
Chasing Ebony is the first of three shorts I would consider as sidebars to the main Wintermoon Series. Each book is about a minor character from the original series and their fated mate.
This book is about Tristian- a bear shifter who actually appears in the first book of the main series. As the author explains in her blurb, there isn’t much added to the overarching plot of the main series - it mostly focuses on the fated mates meeting and claiming each other. There are some small insights and it is nice to get a different perspective on the main conflict.
Yes I know it says short story but dang it was really rushed. Love the storyline, and the spice was great as always. But when we first read about Tristian in book 1 I always wondered about his story and it just seems very rushed. Ebony is very smart and caring but it literally took a day before she became a fein lol love these series just wished it was a little more even though it was a short story.
Easy read. After reading the fated mate series, this book gave me more of what I wanted to see. I wanted to see more of the fight of them and the radicals. I liked the wolve shifters but needed to see how the other supernatural species are doing.
When reading the fated mate series, Tristian didn't really stick out much as a character I wanted more on, but the change from the wolf shifters was welcomed.
Wanted something short and sweet to read. This wasn’t bad and I might read more by this author but it’s felt very repetitive for such a short book. And I don’t mean the same scene was happening, I mean that we were told the same thing multiple times. The bar was a radical hang out, the friends were radicals, bear shifters are overprotective. Just felt like I was being told the same thing over and over.
I loved how this story ties in with the others, like it's one big story. It flows smoothly from one chapter to the next. The characters are fantastic love knowing each supernatural animals so far the wolves have my heart but the bears are very close second. Can't wait for my oldest daughter to read this series she thinks she knows books wait till she reads these ones they're off the hook. Can't wait to read the next one hopefully new ones will be coming soon.
Shit I thought I wanted a wolf. After reading this now, I want a bear. A big one. There's nothing like having a giant protector who loves you more than anything. I love this story. Out of all of the ones I read so far. He actually let her continue to fulfill her dreams and be a sister of winter moon. So far, all the other books want their women to be stay at home moms. This book was more modern with a mix of traditions. Love this book.
Chase me down baby!!! A Bear shifter. Now we are getting to see other shifters and I’m here for it. How cute is Ebony and Tristan’s story and to think bears are her favorite animal. This was sexy and I want my own cuddly bear too!!!! I liked seeing how different these other shifters are and how they are within the pack. Bears are my type of carrying on so protective and possessive all while loving. Tristan was unapologetic with anything or anyone that was due to come between him and his mate. There are heavy undertones and messages within this book, but they are covered up but eye opening non the less.
I enjoyed reading Tristan and Ebony's story. Tristan was a big teddy bear when it came to Ebony. I would have thought Ebony would resent Tristan when she discovered she could not leave Wintermoon, but that never happened. The shifters in Wintermoon leave little to no room in making to expand their bloodline. Great novella and can't wait to read the next story apart of the Wintermoon universe.
I loved Tristan. He was so strong and sweet. I loved that he found his mate. I can't stand Kade at all. She makes me cringe every time she's in a book. She a grade a asshole. The world building In these books is incredibly off. I can't get behind alot of the things. I definitely think some more research needs to be done.
