Screwdriver aliens but make it omegaverse. Another wild and fun story from Ames! Lip could get it. Don't let the screwdriver thing drive you away (lol) he's perfectly fuckable.

Fun, quirky, alien book!

Kat (FMC) comes back to her childhood town in California to fix up her parent's house. It just so happens that her childhood crush and bully lives next door, who owns his own construction company. When Lip (MMC) finds out Kat is coming back to town, he promises he wont make the same mistake he did in high school and let her get away. Thankfully he has just the thing she craves.

This was such a fun read! I loved we got a little bit of a backstory to really all four characters in this book (two main characters and two side characters). It is an omegaverse, but doesn't lean too heavy into it. It definitely was a playful book and you get that through the writing.

I think the only thing that I didn't care for was how insta-love it was. With the amount of push and pull in the beginning, I just didn't expect the flipped switch. Being a very short book, I do expect some insta-love, but I wanted slightly more transition. I also didn't care for Georgie, but I would like to see her get her own HEA in another book!

Tropes:

☑️ Alien shifter
☑️ Fated Mates
☑️ Betrayal (past)
☑️ Dual POV’s (first person)
☑️ Insta-Love
☑️ Found Family
☑️ Second Chance
☑️ HEA

Spice: 🌶🌶

This has it all. Warm, fuzzy feet kicking giggles, high school dramaa, second chance, spice and my favorite, loads of puns. 😅
We get aliens and omegaverse, and I absolutely loved it! Lip and Kats' story is cute. Kat has always been attracted to Lip, but in true high school boy fashion, he kinda sucked... even though he had feelings for her also. (dumb boys 😑) But when Kat moves back home to fix up her parents' old house, fate brings them back together, and they are able to rekindle and right past wrongs.
I am so excited to see what this series has for the future! Because I neeeeeed to know about another certain couple! 👀

Expect:
🪛 Second chances
💜 Dulce De Leche
🪛 Screwing 😉
💜 Vibrating 🍆
🪛 Knotting

Ooohh this one one was weird and sweet 😝 Did it make me say WTF am I even reading? Yes 100%! But did it also make me root for the MCs to get together and work everything out? Yeah also 100%
I didn't read the first one of this series but that is a problem I will shortly be remedying. I can't wait to see what comes next in this wacky series

Alright, buckle up, folks, because Screwed: An Alien Sentient Object Romance by Ames B. Winterbourne is a wild, hilarious, and surprisingly heartwarming ride that I didn’t know I needed—but now I’m emotionally attached to a literal screwdriver alien. Let’s break it down.

The Premise:
Phillip "Lip" has been hopelessly in love with Kat, his brother's best friend, since childhood. Unfortunately, there’s a tiny complication—he’s an alien whose true form is... wait for it... a sentient screwdriver. Mortified by his secret, Lip keeps Kat at arm’s length through classic high-school-boy jerk behavior. Fast forward to adulthood: Kat’s back in town, ready to sell her parents’ old house, and wouldn’t you know it—Lip lives next door, owning a construction company perfectly suited to fixing... things. (See what I did there?)

The Characters:
Kat: Sassy, self-assured, and totally done with Lip’s high school nonsense—but also still lowkey crushing on him. She’s a curvy Latina who knows what she wants, and she’s ready to fight for her happily ever after—even if it involves intergalactic secrets.

Lip: Sweet, protective, awkward as all get-out—and, oh yeah, a vibrating alien screwdriver. Despite his alien baggage (and attachment issues), he’s determined to win Kat’s heart.

The Spice:
Listen, when I read “vibrating screwdriver,” I had... questions. But somehow, the steaminess WORKS. Their chemistry is off the charts, and Lip’s alien abilities... um... enhance certain activities in ways I’m still blushing over. The author definitely understood the assignment when it came to combining sci-fi weirdness with serious heat.

The Plot:
Enemies-to-lovers? ✔️
Best friend’s brother? ✔️
Fated mates with a second chance at love? ✔️
Small-town gossip and meddling friends? ✔️

The story moves quickly, thanks to its novella-length, but manages to pack in emotional depth. The backstory of Lip’s guilt over past mistakes adds just the right amount of angst. And Kat’s acceptance of his true form felt like a celebration of love beyond appearances—10/10, would cheer for them again.

The Humor:
The puns, y’all. The. Puns. I lost track of how many screwdriver-related jokes made me cackle. Lip’s inner monologues were equal parts awkward and endearing, making me root for this bashful tool-shifter like my life depended on it.

The Cons:
If I had to nitpick, the insta-love felt a bit rushed after all that initial push-and-pull. I get that it’s a short book, but a teensy bit more build-up would’ve been chef’s kiss. Also, side character Georgie was... a lot. But honestly, now I’m hoping she gets her own chaotic alien romance spinoff.

Final Thoughts:
Second-chance romance? Check.Unapologetic weirdness? Double check.Surprisingly tender love story involving interstellar hardware? Triple check.

Screwed:
An Alien Sentient Object Romance is a bizarrely delightful gem that manages to be both absurd and deeply emotional. If you’re in the mood for sci-fi romance with humor, heat, and heart, grab this book—you’ll never look at your toolbox the same way again.

Oh. My. God. Where do I even start with Lip and Kat’s Screwy Love? First off, let’s address the elephant—or should I say, the screwdriver—in the room. This book is ABSOLUTELY BONKERS, and I mean that in the best way possible. Never in my life did I think I’d find myself fanning my face over an alien who doubles as a literal vibrating screwdriver. And yet, here we are.

Phillip “Lip” stole my heart right away. He’s the ultimate cinnamon roll—sweet, protective, a little awkward—and oh yeah, he’s got an alien side that could probably assemble a piece of IKEA furniture in under five seconds. The poor guy has been pining for Kat, his brother’s best friend, since they were kids. But because screwdriver alien logic, he thought keeping his distance and being a total jerk to her was the way to go. Classic Lip.

Then there’s Kat. I love her. She’s sassy, smart, and isn’t here for anyone’s crap, especially Lip’s weird mood swings. But the way she slowly starts to unravel his walls (and his secret identity!) is just so satisfying. The fact that she’s over 30 and doesn’t shy away from her kinky side made me want to high-five her through the pages. Like, YES, QUEEN, you own that screwdriver fantasy!

The spice? OH LORD. When Lip’s true form came out, I thought I was going to combust. Let’s just say the “vibrating screwdriver” aspect was handled with… uh, precision. At first, I was like, “How is this going to work?” But the author made it work. Trust me, the steamy scenes are top-tier, and I’ll never look at my toolbox the same way again.

And can we talk about the tropes? Enemies to lovers? Check. Best friend’s brother? Check. Fated mates? Double check. The second-chance romance between two people who clearly couldn’t get over each other even after YEARS apart? It gave me all the feels.

I also loved the depth the author gave to Lip’s alien identity. He’s not just a guy with a… unique skillset. There’s lore, there’s emotional conflict, there’s the whole “I’m a monster, she could never love me” thing that had me clutching my chest. And Kat’s acceptance of him? SWOON.

So yeah, this book is hilarious, spicy, and surprisingly emotional. If you’re in the mood for a rom-com with a side of intergalactic kink, Lip and Kat’s Screwy Love will screw (sorry, I had to) its way into your heart.

5/5 stars. 🪛

"You want to taste my metal, baby."~Lip 🤪🤪🤪🤣🤣🤣

Okay first things first. This book maybe short, and extremely different, but I think it's well-developed. There's plot. Emotions. Past high school betrayals and hurts to work through. And yes, plenty of out of this weird world kinky hotness to be had.😮🔥🪛🔥😮 I never expected this story and that's what I liked about it. It's quirky, unknown, and fun. It just works. Like something out of the Twilight Zone meets the X-Files, but with an adult twist.🥳

Phillip, 'Lip', looks like a man, he even acts like one, but there's more to him than meets the eye. A lot more! And he acted like a jerk towards Kat in high school but now, he's got his eyes, his entire alien self, smitten on his Kit-Kat.😍 Can he convince her that he genuinely has feelings? And Kat, girl let your freak flag fly.🏁🥵🏁 Twirl it!! No judgement. She's likable and sweet. She's always had a thing for Lip. But now, she's ready to get her alien... her man... that screwdriver kink... forever. Sidenote: Georgie, the dramatic bad girl, she needs her own book.🤭🤭

You want something different. This story covers that and gives you more. It will make you giggle. Enjoy it for what it is. Happy reading.💚🩵💚🩵

🍮🛸Thank you to Ms Winterbourne and Booksprout for this book. This is my honest review on the story.🍮🛸

Kat (h) never planned to return to her small California beach town, let alone to the crumbling, neglected house her parents abandoned years ago. Tasked with fixing it up to sell, she’s already neck-deep in frustration when her past comes crashing back in the form of Lip (H), her ex-high school crush and tormentor turned impossibly attractive contractor. But Lip isn’t just any man, he’s an alien with secrets that will change everything Kat thought she knew about herself. As Lip reveals his true form as a screwdriver alien, and the shocking truth about their connection, Kat has to navigate her conflicted feelings, and their shared history of betrayal, heartbreak, and unfinished business. Toss in meddling friends, small-town gossip, and a kink (that Lip is perfect for) she thought she’d buried for good, and Kat’s life has gone from complicated to completely out of control. Kat and Lip have to figure out how to leave the past behind and build a future together. Ultra-hot and steamy alien-human, sentient object erotic romance, exploring love, connection, vulnerability, reconciliation, trust, commitment, and understanding.

Screwed: An Alien Sentient Object Romance

This was my first alien romance, and wow—what an introduction! One of the best things about ARCs is discovering books I’d never pick up otherwise, and this one definitely took me by surprise.

At just 66 pages, it’s a fast read featuring Kate, a curvy Latina in her 30s, and Philip, an alien (also in his 30s) whose true form is… a giant screwdriver. Yes, you read that correctly. 😂 Oh, and Kate’s got a thing for screwdrivers, naturally.

What’s in the toolbox?
🌶️🌶️ Two peppers of spice
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pure creativity points
❤️ Second-chance romance
😂 Hilariously dramatic side characters
😝 A story that’ll make you rethink every decision you’ve ever made
🪛 Screwdrivers will never look the same again

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I NEED to know what’s in store for Alec and Georgia. The spelling mistakes were noticeable, but they just added to the delightful chaos. Ames B. Winterbourne, your mind is a wonderfully dirty place, and I have no regrets diving in.

3⭐️ 2🌶️ (Yes, even with a screwdriver)
MOOD: lighthearted, emotional
TROPES: second chance, fated mates
GENRES: omegaverse, sci-fi

MAIN CHARACTERS: Kat and Lip

THE GOOD: It delivers what it promises - alien shifter sentient objects. The story is okay as far as returning home after a bad experience in high school.
THE NEUTRAL: I noticed more typos than usual compared to the last book.
THE MEH: I didn't enjoy it as much as the last one. The whole bullying aspect didn't do much for the story and made the first 50% kind of meh. The side characters having their own agenda (and clearly setting up for book 3) also interfered with Kat and Lip's story and not in a good way.

CW: sexual content, mentions of bullying
DISCLAIMER: I received an advance review copy. This is my honest review.

Another amazing omegaverse alien romance, this series has been so fun so far. I couldn’t help giggling at all of the screwdriver puns and honestly it was perfectly set up for book three as well.

We get a bit of backstory dealing with high school crushes and bullies. But overall it’s a romance with two people who are attracted to each other but are perfect together because they both smell and taste like Dulce de leche and they have a thing for screwdrivers.

How can you not enjoy such a non serious fun spicy read? So happy I got to read this book!

This was a great book. It was a page turner and the suspense was intense. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn't even put it down. It was addicted and a sweet romance of physical attraction between them. The chemistry between them had sparks between them with passion that had ignited of fun and joy and a hint of spicy and sweet treats. Was it love at first sight.

I highly recommend this book and you won't be disappointed.

Not exactly sure what I expected from this book. This time it’s along with the other books only this time it is a screwdriver versus Hammers versus any other book that I’ve read from this author. Funny and bantering. Past relationships from high school. Resolution from the bullying that went on when they were in the high school environment. The attraction was still there, and working it out again. Power tools are our friends. Short read.

This was a fun, quick read. Phillip is an alien, a Screwdriver! :D Kat has always known his as her brother's best friend and had secretly crushed over him during her school days. She returns to the family home only to be forced out and stay at Phillips house.
It's super short but was so much fun and a great filler between longer reads. This author is becoming a firm favourite for the quick, fun reads. And happy to grow my collection of her books. :D

I have read so many different Alpha Omega books. And they're all different in their own kind of way. But I can honestly say this was very different. As screwdriver alien. I absolutely love Lip and Kat. Not a fan of his best friend. But even so I hope that his brother does get his happily ever after even if it is with his best friend.

Was this weird as hell? Yeah. Will I read the next one? Absolutely. Honestly, I am super intrigued by the lore of these aliens. Somehow…it makes sense. I am definitely here for the long haul.

My complaints are mainly about the writing style. So many of these sentences feel awkward and clunky. Like I’m reading a movie script with poor dialogue. But the story is interesting, so I’ll continue to read them!

Lip and Kat have some hurtful past from when they was teenagers but Lip has always wanted Kat even when he was a dumb teenager.
Kat still hasn't forgiven Lip for years ago and she doesn't want to either but Lip sweet talks her into letting him help her and the feelings can't be missed.
I love this Little series with the tool aliens and even though I wasn't a fan of Georgie I hope we see her HEA!

OK, I'm going to preface this by saying that I just wanted a light read with a bit of a twist.

In and of itself, the book was a nice story. Short, to the point; gave enough backstory for the premise to move the story along. I will say though, that the idea of aliens as objects is pretty far out there, but certainly novel. Personally, I would have preferred a bit more backstory of the aliens and why they chose Earth in the first place. I did enjoy the setup for the next book in the form of the introduction of two other characters, creating a bit of tension and a love square.

Overall, not bad, yet more detail to flesh things out would be nice.

Okay. I tried really hard to wrap my head around this book…but just couldn’t do it. While I read a lot of alien romance, this one just didn’t cut it. The storyline didn’t work for me; the characters were rather odd; the story had very few twists and turns—and those were too easy to figure out. The best part had to be the HEA—it was really good. I’m hoping to read more books by this really interesting author!

Fast paced and read novella. Lots of heat and steam, aliens and humans. Kat has always wanted Lip but after what he does in high school changes her. Now as adults, things and feelings change. Everyone should have their own screwdriver. Glad they have a happily ever after.

Okay, these books are so cute and fun to read. Kat is back in town to renovate her parent’s house. Which means that she is bound to run into her bests friend’s brother/high school nemesis that lives next door. Lip broke Kat’s heart in high school, but now he’s telling her they are mates.

Had me laughing out loud, dating can be a disaster. Especially if you secretly loved the guy next door all your life. Throw a little kink into the mix and as I said disaster is born.

Our heroin is feisty and the guy next door turns out to be her dream version of kink.
