Bestseller in kindle downloads Horror and Thriller.

A psychological horror novel by R. M. Grace. All three parts in one book!

A vicious gang of killers, known as the Body Part Boys, plagued the city of Coventry, England for over a decade. Their reign of terror came to an end when the only survivor of their appalling crimes came forward on Bonfire Night, 2003.

Eight years on, the city have put events behind them until a series of copy-cat murders sweep the streets back into a familiar past.
Inside the safety of their own homes, people whisper the rumour that members of the old gang are still among them. And have been all along.

It is a chilly October morning when Jason wakes to find himself in a field, a mile from his apartment. He has no recollection of how he arrived there—something he hasn't done since childhood. What is more startling is he is on the unorthodox burial ground of the killers.

The bodies are missing . . .

As sickening visions drag Jason into memories that are not his own, he meets a mysterious mute boy whom he believes to be connected to the murders.
Determined to uncover the truth, he follows the boy into an underlying world of terror where the days are as dark as night.

And within that darkness, he uncovers things
that should have remained buried . . .

DNF @ 3%!

description

1% - a lot of passive sentences, weird imagery and sentence structure.
...timidly flickers he them open (transpose flickers and he)

I read for an hour, 2% in and I'm developing a tick from the weird way sentences are structured. It reads really wrong.

description

Examples from Chapter 1 - 2% in:
1. ...his toes are painted a dry brown shade, crusted with skin peeling...

2. Despite looks, the damage feels light for there is barely any pain in the numbing chill...

3. Someone is shouting off in the distance, but he is unable to make out any words, and then silence resumes.

4. ...which sends a dizzy spell over him what he tells himself is nothing.

5. Stalk naked, with wild alarm brimming in his eyes he looks into the face of someone who could be him, only older, with his hands gloved from the cold.

First of all, this book is intended for a mature audience, as it deals with sinister, twisted themes. With that being said, I found this psychological horror story to be very dark and gripping. The author did a nice job of writing this imaginative novel about copy cat murders taking place in the city of Coventry, England. The characters were realistic, yet complex. The main character, a man by the name of Jason, has quite an interesting relationship to the past and present killings taking place in the story. From the beginning I was hooked and wanted to keep reading! The BEAST never SLEEPS!

The language from start to finish in this book is mesmerizing and divine. The slow pace allows the reader to take in each vivid detail as this writer describes them and paints a perfect picture to draw your further in.

I don't normally love a slow paced book, but this one was full of surprises and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good scare.

This is a good solid debut novel. It is really long and needs some editing, but that is the way of the indy.

The story was good, not sure what the twist end was, based on the other reviews, I was waiting for us all to be in Steve's head. But I am jaded. There was the right amount of suspense, nausea and OMG why do people do what they do.

Looking forward to her next book.

I adored this book, the picture that the author paints is deep and at times rather terrifying! You find yourself investing fully in the characters throughout and add the mixes of humour to the tale and you have yourself a sensational read. I would highly recommend this books to both fans of the genre and those who aren't necessarily accustomed to it. Truly brilliant!

I gave up after reading just over half of this book. I kept hoping that it would get somewhere, but it just dragged on and on. The other problem was the poor grammar and editing, even in the Author's Note.

I finally finished it! A mighty read with well fleshed out characters and the plot is fab! Was a shocker at the end... I love twists in books. This had it all- action, fear, sadness and monsters!

Dark, violent, suspense filled drama. My cup of tea in condensed form. Goodread.
