Harlow’s number one rule was to never get involved with another thug nigga, but how quickly things change when she met ol’ fine ass, country Beau Brix. He had the ability to make a bitch think twice. With a deadbeat baby daddy out to destroy her find out if she and Beau will have that happily ever after the madness.
Beau Brix fought hard to leave his past right where it was at, but it was like everything came back to the forefront to destroy him. With the mind of a boss, he was determined not to let it define who he truly is. Will everything work out in his favor, or will he be defeated, and overcome the darkness that’s been held over his head for all this time?
Duke thought he was doing the right thing to protect his family. He made a dumb decision that could cost him everything. How will he get himself out of this situation and back home where he belongs? If you know Duke DaGreat then you know he won’t stay down for long, but if and once he is released who’s going to be there to hold him down?
Harmony was missing in action in part one, but what was she really up too while the whole party was being shot up? Harmony was so caught up in her feelings of being in Harlow’s shadow, it was slowly breaking her down to where she felt she was losing control. Will she be able to bounce back, or will she spiral out of control?
Take this final ride with the Country Thugs and the women who love them to find out if there will be a happily ever after!
Started off well but about 73% in there was something that I felt was so unnecessary in the book that took place. Not to mention, there was no trigger warning. Smh There was so many bad decisions made pertaining to the child being taken. They found out where she was but didn’t immediately go get her. The mother was more concerned about the man cheating on her then getting her child back. Even as a fictional book it was just so many foolish things going on it skipped to the end just to write the review.
I was too surprised that Cali jealousy lead her to tell Harmony about the poly relationship Duke was in with her and two other women. You can tell Harmony was hurt. Duke realized to late he should've listened to Cali when she told him something was right about him meeting with J-Smoove. Duke damn near lost his freedom when he found out J-Smoove snaked him. Duke getting rid of his girls for Harmony proved he was in love with her. I don't know why Chris thought he was going to get away with shooting up a kid's party. He was also delusional to think him, Harlow, and Melody was going to be a family again. Chris kidnapping Melody and trying to use her as ammunition was wrong on so many levels. I don't even think he realized what Nettie evil ass did to that baby. I know Tesa was a dummy but she was for real slow. I don't know why she chose to plot with Chris because he was using her and told her to her face. Tesa made a bold move going to Beau house after he threatened her because Harlow tore her ass up. I love the way Harlow love Harlow daughter Xoey and was a mother figure to her. Harlow treated just like she treated her own child Melody. I couldn't even fathom the type of pain Harlow felt after what happened to Melody. It was truly heartbreaking. Beau although he had his little fault's. Definitely showed Harlow how to be loved properly. His love for her daughter shined through as hell. Beau stepped all the way up when Melody and went missing and after what happened to her. He made sure he was there for Harlow every step of the way. Nettie had lost her damn mind. I don't understand why she did what she did to Melody and why she thought she would get her daughters and Duke back after she left and disappeared for year's. She was a dummy too for helping Chris and J-Smoove plot on Duke because she knew how his family was
What the hell is all I can say about book two. Everything I loved and liked in book one of this series pissed me smooth off come book two. Like for one how are the siblings out here just chasing rainbows when you say it’s family over everything and it’s a child involved and y’all just acting like it doesn’t matter. That babies death was not called for and her dead beat sperm donor needed to die last to know his baby died at the hands of who he was working with. Harlow was pissing me off two because if she knew she had Beau and Duke behind her she could have set Chris up to say she was coming home and get rid of Chris and his whole operation. Beau didn’t really do anything wrong other than not telling Harlow he used to be a part of that life and Chris and him worked together at one point. Harmony I swear was a pain in the ass and literally acted like a brat the whole time in this book getting under my skin. How your sister like really need you and you mad at a nigga that you knew he had a ex wife that was just popping up. Ask the damn questions you want to know and move according. She was so I just want sex with a dude and funny how all that changes. Duke was a complete let down this book as well. Because seriously sir. If you knew your Ex wife was still going to the old house and you got all this money you didn’t think to follow her or have someone other than your fake ass friend to tail her to know why she is back? Then if you know nothing about that life just sale it all and be done with it. I hate that everyone next to him was shady as hell. He should have listened to Dallas when she tried to talk to him. I mean this whole book I was pissed that didn’t let who needed to talk to and gave the people who could have just shut up talk.

I think the main thing that pissed me off with the storyline for this second book is that Harlow moved with absolutely no urgency when it came to getting Melody back. Once she became aware that Chris kidnapped their daughter, she didn't do any and everything to get her baby back as soon as possible. Instead, she was laid up under Beau, playing house.
Chris is someone who has put their child in harm's way before, causing CPS to take her away. AND then the man escaped from prison and shot up her birthday party. That alone should have caused her to raise hell when getting her baby back immediately. Instead, she gave in to his threats and prolonged the situation. Authorities should have been contacted as soon as she knew. The fact that she had a direct line of communication should have been used to locate him faster instead of calling and asking when he was bringing her back.
Also, when Harlow realized she could track Melody's location she still waited instead of immediately going to the location. Had Chris not been dumb to go out publicly while on the run, and Beau spotted them, who knows how long it would have taken until she got Melody back.
So while Harlow moved with no urgency, her baby was being pumped up with drugs by strange women while being kidnapped by her baby daddy. So while Chris and Duke's baby mama Nellie was at fault for Melody's death 100%, Harlow played a role as well.
I know Harlow loved her daughter, but when it came down to it, she still produced traits of a negligent parent, and that's unfortunate.

As I stated with the first book, that this book had potential to be a 5 ⭐️ read, however, the book is just not there and it did nothing for me. I was a little sad when Melody was killed because her death was a little on the unnecessary side due to the situation, because the way she died was not mentioned in the book. The only thing that was mentioned was that she was given melatonin, so thats what I initially thought killed her. Anyways, I think Harlow’s reaction to Chris taking Melody was a little weird and not of a mother who actually cared for her daughter being taken without her knowledge. Harlow cared more about Beau cheating on her than that of her daughter being taken and placed in harms way.
I think Harlow should have taken Chris’s threats seriously and she should have checked Melody’s location from the jump and that poor baby would have not taken such an unpleasant demise. In my opinion, I think CPS needs to be looking into Harlow when she drops this new baby, because she was definitely a neglectful parent when it came to the matters of Melody, and I think that Harlow defiantly played a role in Melody’s demise. Beau to me cared more about Melody’s demise than her own mother and that says a lot.
Um…respectfully, no. Same as the first book 150 pages is not enough for 4 different POV. Then we get lost in details vs the plot. Still feel like so much effort is put into this country drawl & it falls flat
This one really didn’t sit well with me. The daughter is kidnapped and yall got time to bump uglies? They you are really sitting and waiting… THEN you remember you have the life 360 app & can track her because she has get phone. She been gone days already. So boom, after you see exactly where she is you say “we will go tomorrow”. 😑😑. Bet so even if you did all that when you get her back she tells you how bad she feels for days & you note it yourself but never take her to the hospital?
Maybe it’s because it a mom but this wasn’t it. The death honestly seemed like we were chasing a big pivotal moment because it wasn’t necessary especially as sloppily as it was set up.
I’m going to try to leave a positive review as much as I can because the first book set this book up that it could’ve been a five star book but this book was all over the place. Harmony supposedly wanted to find herself but all she did was run behind Duke and have a baby by him. She had a degree but in what and why didn’t she pursue a career in that field since she wanted to stop being Harlow’s shadow. I’m not understanding why Nellie unalived Melody nor why Melody wasn’t taken to be checked out when they found her in the first place. Harlow moved to Thuggnville for a fresh start and to open up another business but she never worked nor did she even do the carnival day. The book left unanswered questions and the book REALLY needs a proofreader.
Whoever the editor is needs to be let go, so many of the mistakes were simple but childish and embarrassing like none of the words utilized were difficult so to have that many errors in the book was crazy to me. Using Hall Vs Haul was an automatic story ruiner for me. Like I’m not even the most attentive person but did the story even get looked over? The drama was farfetched and foolish, cus if Beau was the plug was was he always so unprepared? Why didn’t he do any pre planning? Man saw a bullet and egg plant emoji MIND YOU HE WAS IN BUSINESS WITH BULLET lmaoo like that’s not strange to you ? Sorry this book had far too many simple details and errors for me to even enjoy
Fast paced from part 1! You will find love, respect, family, sadness, anger, depression and then love all over again. Duke and Harmony were truly meant for one another. Beau and Harlow, whew the way they were able to blend their families, until Chris came and caused havoc. Both relationships had some stumbling blocks, but they survived whatever came their way. Now Nellie, Chris and Tesa they were just evil and received exactly what they deserved. I enjoyed the epilogue and hope to see more of them.
This series is so lit. My li lady was catching a little hell from her sperm donor by kidnapping her and one of his chicks injecting her with something. With babygirl so young and dying had me in a whole lot of pain and tears cause he made me think about me losing my daughter. I’m glad all of their enemies met their demise. And I’m glad for their happy ending. U did good on yet another book and I’m looking forward to reading more of them. Sitting here patting my feet while sipping on Pepsi and while eating popcorn while waiting on the next book to read
Loved the first book and immediately jumped into the second. This turned into a disappointment. First was the editing throughout the book. It was simple words that just needed another review to make it right. Second was the child death! No trigger warning in the beginning and it was unnecessary! You could’ve killed everyone involved with the kidnapping but you didn’t have to touch the child. All of the main characters pissed me, but Harlow and Harmony, I didn’t think either of yall deserved peace! The way yall navigate relationships is atrocious.
Good read! I enjoyed this read. I know this is fiction, but as a MS country girl, some of the "idioms", and language used to sell the country lingo was hard to grasp, because we really don't speak like that. I was married to a real cowboy and he even didn't speak that way. Sorry to start off like this. I really did enjoy the story. I hate that Mel died, that broke my heart. Good read nonetheless.
See, she was doing so good in the story had me rolling. 🤣🤣It was a good storyline ,good characters, good twists and turns for book one and book 2 not a lot of spice. I’d say it’s like maybe one or two scenes for spice 🌶️🌶️ so ….but what really brought it down from a five to a four was a scene that made me cry and honestly I wanted to stop reading .I was mad at the author, but then I needed to see if there was any type of get back still upset though!!
The ending has arrived, and while I was pleased to see that each couple remained together, this book did not have the same impact as the first one. I'm unsure why, but I felt somewhat disconnected from the characters, particularly the sisters. Additionally, I was taken by surprise by a tragic moment in the story; even though I typically don't engage with trigger warnings, I believe this book should have included one. Overall, it was just okay.
I’m not even gone hold you I liked this part before than part 1/book 1. This book was definitely more action packed. It contained more of the plot than the previous book. Also this book had a lot more country slang that as a country girl I could relate to & enjoyed. This book did have some grammatical errors but it didn’t really bother me too much.
I must say this was an eventful book very sad how harlows daughter pass away. It will take you thru all of the emotions at once for sure . I thought that was a cute ending how the sisters both got pregnant at the end. Crazy how you can lose a life and gain a life at the same time .
Nahhhhh we can’t in this like that. I need two novellas to follow-up this book. Duke and Harmony needs one and Harlow and Beau needs one. I loved and hated this story. I hated that Melody had to endure so much pain and how her life tragically ended. I was glad that Beau and Duke got Chris, Tesa, Cali, and Nellie up out of here. It was such a quick and good read.
Book 2 was everything Chris got what he deserved and poor lil Tessa at the wrong place at the wrong time but that’s what you get playing with fire im sad Mel passed but other than that I enjoyed the book
I must say this was an amazing read. To see Harlow come out of her shell and stand and adapt to the country life was awesome. Sad what happen to Mel but I must say Beau and Duke took care of business. Beau more so.. He eas ruthless/diabolical.
Everybody got the karma that they deserved in the end! I felt so bad for Harlow’s loss! I cried like a baby! That was so tragic? Harmony and Harlow have good men in their lives! This was such a great read!! Serious thumbs up!!
Good book, good story but the editing was very distracting! Between the typos and going back and forth between first person and third person, it got kind of frustrating! Book one was the same.
My heart broke, but by the end, I was left filled with laughter. One thing I can say without giving this book away is, Don't start nothing, won't be nothing! Period. Great read!
I love this series. I thought it was well written and a cute, fast read. I do think that the death of Harlow’s daughter was unnecessary. After all they been through the girl could have lived. I think the story had more justice if she lived.
Storyline had potential and was a good read however the layout and how things transition was off. It didn’t read like a well thought out story. The baby didn’t have to die that just really took away from the enjoyment of reading this.
This story was most definitely worth the wait! It was full of all the feels!! She got us good with the sad part I had real tears but that ending was beautiful
