I love art. How one can look at a beautiful art piece and see many intricate details. It's beautiful and complete. It makes people feel alive, and the person walks away transformed because of that 15 min or so looking at the mind of the artist. I bring this up because Vol II of the Fragmentation series reminded me of this type of art. From the jaw-dropping book cover to the prose inside.
John Randall- Author writing style in first person narration for its main character is so intense. There is a level of depth and emotions from the psychology of repressed guilt. The characters felt real, and I was fully immersed in the story. I wished it lasted forever and did not want it to end. I have loved both books and how the intricate details came together in that explosive conclusion of a final chapter.
The brilliance of the book is undeniable, and one of my favorite books of all time. It's a must-read. This receives my highest recommendation.

What is this place? How did Rodrigo end up here, crawling out from a desert pit and into the glaring sun? Was this his grave? Was he dead? Is this the afterlife - a barren, endless desert where he's forced to roam forever, lost and confused? This can't be real. Was it all just a terrible nightmare? Or has he truly awakened into a nightmare from which there is no escape? Rodrigo surveys the landscape - he has no answers, only more questions. What happened to him? Why is he here? The questions eat at him as he begins desperately seeking answers that may never come. Eventually, finding his way back to Austin, he is desperate to resume his former life as a wedding planner and club owner. But something is different - so very different. Ominous visions of a little girl and her bear haunt Rodrigo's restless sleep while a bridezilla makes continuous impossible demands. The evil that lurks within him evokes anxieties long-suppressed. As fantasy and reality intertwine, Rodrigo struggles to cling to sanity. Will he uncover the truth before madness and murder consume him completely?

OK, this is my second reading of this majestic book and I can honestly say, I missed quite a few things the first time around. I always knew Rod had the bad habit of using humor to hide behind, but I missed that he also suffers from physical ailments caused by something in his past. First I need to mention this cover! How fantastic is it? John works very hard with his designer to bring us the most amazing covers, as he's as much a cover snob as some of us, lol.
Now onto my review!

Vol II as you can guess is book 2, in the **Fragmentation** series. The book opens with a chilling premise: **Rodrigo Santos**, buried alive in a desert grave, emerges surrounded by blood and destruction, his memory wiped clean of how he ended up there.
Rodrigo heads home where he encounters **bridezillas** with outlandish requests, which the absurdity of some will make you think OMG!
John weaves a dark and intricate storyline, with some comic relief mixed in. With his vivid descriptions, he transports readers to eerie landscapes, where every twist leaves us questioning what's reality and what isn't. The tension builds relentlessly, drawing us into Rodrigo's struggle for sanity.
**"Fragmentation Vol II"** is a thought-provoking thriller that lingers long after the final page. Prepare to be captivated, disturbed, and left pondering the boundaries of existence, I know I have a book hangover!

Good lord! I am exhausted! So many times, throughout this book, I thought I had things figured out. But nope, curve balls all over the place. Volume I was tough to get through but now I can see just how necessary that volume was. Rodrigo tries to go through a total transformation but, dear reader, does he really accomplish this? The cast of characters was wonderful – Joey the Bouncer, stripper Rageina (lives up to the spelling), government agents Morbid and Truth (or are they something else?), kidnappers Miska, Koko, and Aurora, and my favorite, Jamie-Lynn the Bridezilla. All these characters play a part in Rod’s quest for success as a wedding planner, a strip club owner, developer of designer drugs, and a record label producer. How he manages to succeed, and fail is all part of this wonderful story. The ending, holy crap! We need to talk, Mr. Randall!

This cover is amazing and it continues in the story! The first person narrative make the story so much more intense and draws you in right away! If you are looking for something different this is the book! I would recommend it to my friends!
