I loved this guide book so much! Move over Rick Steves. First of all, Corinna Cooke’s enthusiasm is contagious. She includes chapters on forgotten ancient walkways up and down the city before the funiculars were built, street art by Banksy, Jorit, etc., Metro station art, underground treasures from the ancient Greeks, Romans, paleo-Christians and more. She includes the different neighborhoods (rioni) and gives an insider’s guide to discovering the heart of the most fascinating city, the best caffe’ and pizza. Her book enhanced my visit so much. I can’t wait to read her other Italian guidebooks.
