As Valentine's Day nears, love is in the air, and the flower shop is buzzing with activity. Presley is excited to help her friend Willie plan the perfect romantic dinner to propose to his girlfriend—and Presley’s best friend—Katy.
But when the big night arrives, Willie is nowhere to be found, and no one has heard from him. The mystery deepens when a ransom note arrives.
Now, Presley must find out what happened to Willie. But will she be too late?
As a child, L.C. thought she would either be a truck driver (thanks to Jerry Reed in Smokey and the Bandit) or work at Taco Bell (her favorite restaurant as a child). As she grew older, she realized her talents lay in other areas, and for the last several years has been a college professor teaching business and English.
Through all her career choices, she has continued to have a passion for writing stemming from childhood, where, as an only child, she developed a vivid imagination.
She is proud of her vast experiences in life from barrel racing, to being on the dance team for a semi-pro basketball team, to being a mom of 2 amazing kids.
She decided to follow her dream as an author in 2009 and has worked her way up to having 5 fans (maybe 6 now). She often tells her family and friends that no one is safe from his or her ventures slipping into her books. She lives in Indiana with her husband, kids and two very spoiled dogs.
L.C. previously published her cozy mysteries under Laina Turner.
This tenth installment in the Petal Pushers Flower Shop series is an entertaining addition to this fun series! Each book in the series contains a complete mystery and does give a little background on the characters, which makes it pretty easy to jump into the series at any point. This time around Presley faces a mystery that hits too close to home when her friend Willie goes missing on Valentine’s Day when he’s been planning to propose to her best friend Katy. Great characters and a quick, engaging mystery!
This is the 10th book in the Petal Pushers Flower Shop Cozy Mystery and is a page turner! Presley is finally feeling comfortable now owning the flower shop her mother left her. Willie is Presley Sands' friend, who plans to propose to his girlfriend Katy, Presley's best friend, on Valentine’s Day. But with Katy waiting, he doesn't show up. It seems a case that Willie was involved with in Chicago has come to Hunter’s Hollow and Willie and two others were kidnapped. And a ransom note arrives. So of course, Presley, with her pet duck, Topknot and Bella her loyal and intuitive dog, and Katy have to find Willie before anything happens to him and the other two victims and even Sheriff Blackford is allowing Presley and Katy to investigate. Can they find Willie? This is a fun, page turning story that keeps you guessing until the end. Once you begin this book, you just can't put it down until the end. Not only do I highly recommend this book, but I highly recommend the entire series. I received an ARC of this book, but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
The newest in the Petal Pushers Flower Shop mystery series and it's another winner. Like the rest of the series it's a standalone so you won't be lost and you won't be left hanging. It will however spark your interest to read the other books no doubt.
Presley is finally feeling like she fits in at the flower shop she took over from her mom, actually enjoying the arrangements for each season and holiday. Things are going well...and then one of her best friends, Willie, has gone missing. No one knows what's up until word gets to the sheriff that an old case of Willie's from Chicago has come to Hunter's Hollow. Presley's instincts kick in and the investigation gets under way, even the Sheriff shares info with her. In fact, Sheriff Blackford might actually be warming to the idea of Presley's meddling, just might mind you
There are lots of twists and turns and the wrap-up is a bit tense, I absolutely love it though. It's a great way to spend a couple hours.
A very enjoyable book and I am glad I was able to read it in one sitting. Presley is helping Willie get things ready for a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner with Katy, but when Katy gets there Willie is not there. Turns out he’s been kidnapped, as have another two people. These 3 were witnesses in a murder trial. The murdered has somehow been granted a retrial & is trying to make sure he can use these people to lever the DA to say “no trial”. Presley and Katy do a bit of sleuthing which does help a bit. It also turns out that Presley’s dog Bella is a very good guard dog.
This was an enjoyable cozy mystery story. It amuses me to read about Presley's pet duck. I like all the main characters in this series including the pet duck and Bella, the sweet and loyal dog.
This story starts off with a missing person mystery and quickly develops to more. I guessed a few of the twists but not all, thus keeping up the suspense. I find this series to be an entertaining quick read and this book did not disappoint.
I received a free advance copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Presley and Willie are getting things set up so that Willie can propose to her best friend Katie. Katie arrives at Willie's house and he is missing. He doesn't come home and his phone just goes to voice mail. Then the friends find out that Willie has been kidnapped by a criminal that Willie helped put in jail when he was a cop in Chicago. The bad guy is trying to get the DA to drop his charges by kidnapping the people that had testified against him. Of course that isn't going to work and Presley, Katie, Trevor, and Jared do some investigating to help solve the case. Great story and fun read.
Another intriguing mystery in this series. And as usual Presley gets involved in solving it. When a friend of hers goes missing she pulls out all the stops to find out where he disappeared to. He was all set to propose to his girlfriend Katy but when she showed up at his house, he wasn't there and wasn't answering his phone. Presley and Katy try to track him and then Katy also goes missing. Will Presley be able to save both of them? Definitely a must-read, hard to put down book.
I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Another wonderful book in the series - all of them can be read standalone. I really enjoy the energy of the characters in this book, their humor and friendship. The storyline always keeps you going from beginning to end with just enough twists and surprises to make it a page turner. A really great book to read and enjoy. I received a copy of this book from the author. I am leaving a voluntary and honest review.
Presley is busy at her flower shop both selling flowers and planning with Willie his engagement party. Unfortunately, Katy shows up to dinner but Willie has gone missing. As it turns out, Willie has been kidnapped. Presley does a great job trying to find the kidnapper. The police seem to be involved but not following through with many of the leads Presley finds. This is a great mystery and I thoroughly enjoyed it. You’ll be surprised who the hero is!
Another entertaining cozy with a great plot as Presley supports her friend Katy while investigating the disappearance of a friend. I love Presley's style as well as her pets, a dog and a duck. Humour, romance, intrigue come together in this cozy. Don't hesitate to read this book and series.
I read this book as part of an advance reader team and am voluntarily writing this review.
I enjoyed this adventure. The characters are beloved to me, the plot is easily followed, and the premise is finding Willy before he is executed as a witness to a crime committed a few years ago. The answers were slowly found and the bad guys apprehended with no loss of life. I count that as an excellent story told.
Pressley is finally settling in as the owner of the flower shop she inherited from her mother. Her friend Willie asked her to help him with surprising his girlfriend for Valentines. But when Pressley arrives, Willie is missing. Then they get a ransom note and Pressley has to find Willie before it’s too late. Enjoy this fun mystery.
