I'm always so excited to see webcomics I love being turned into books! This one was definitely dark compared to a lot of the other chapters, but everything was handled very well. The additional story at the end was super cute and very wholesome.

I swear, this series gets better and better as time goes on!! As I read these volumes, they seem to be so perfectly timed for the craziness in our world as well, which is just icing on the cake.
This volume includes episodes 39 through 51, so my review will be based on just those.
One of my favorite parts of this entire series is watching Modeus’s and Lucia’s interactions as their budding relationship grows. I thought Modeus waiting for Lucia all night to present her with a small date type situation on the balcony, was incredibly sweet and showed that he is more than just a hunk of metal with no feeling; I mean, we already knew that, but this was verging on book boyfriend status so I can’t wait to see how he “evolves” next. I absolutely loved that Baynard taught him how to slow dance so he could dance with Lucia on the balcony too!! These 4 (the two couples) are seriously my favorite characters in this series!!! I also really loved how Modeus claimed he thought he was really made for Lucia, but she sweetly declined that statement telling him that he was made for no other reason than to be himself. She really is a champion for everyone who may need one in their corner and I love her for that.
Speaking of Modeus “evolving”, can we please talk about the snark he is starting to have, especially towards Lord Ricon (aka the bad guy in this one)?? I loved his one liner about only talking when he had something to say but he had nothing to say to Ricon. THAT WAS A BOSS LINE!!! Basically, dude, you are not worthy of my words.
I loved learning more about Lucia’s backstory and more about her true self that even she didn’t know. I love collecting all the puzzle pieces on these characters, even if sometimes they are hard for our characters to hear. While this revolution opened Lucia’s eyes, fully taking off her rose-colored glasses along with other events within the story, it will only harden her resolve going forward, I just know it. She is so strong and I can’t wait for her to spread her wings 😉
I can’t leave a review without talking about Peres and Sir Baynard. I love these two so much and I loved seeing their relationship in the past. I loved learning that Peres gave Baynard the idea to play as a jokester knight so he didn’t have to go back to the war front; if he could make the nobles love his entertainment, they would want to keep him for themselves. I swear these two are so sweet and so perfect for each other, as well as incredibly smart.
Lastly, these episodes leave us with everyone separated from each other. I truly believe this series is so on the nose about everything happening in the world, first with the lack of correct information and clear biases and then separation of those who are in the know so they can’t band together. It’s all a little eerie and I can’t wait to see the wonderful ending I know is coming, which will act as my reprieve from real life events that are lining up scarily.

Season One wraps up with a big cliffhanger. And the road to it is filled with dark revelations about this fantasy world that leave our main character positively reeling with despair.

But this continues to be so good! I loved the new lore with the elves (well, by loved, I mean it broke my heart), and Lucia's world continues to crumble 😢 She's been through enough revelations already, book! There's also so many different tensions going on between the characters, and we meet a new one that I'd LOVE to introduce to the sharp end of a spear 🙂🙂🙂 Can't wait for more from this story!

This has been my least favorite edition of the series. Normally, Purpah is good at telling the story through imagery and action, but the long expositions in this one killed the story. I am perfectly okay with the plot that was explained, I just wish the delivery was better.
I didn't identify with Lucia as much in this one as I have in the first two volumes. As always though, I am a Modeus stan through and through. I'm excited for book four, but as always, I wish this were a fiction book that I could devour in a few hours!

That was at least entertaining.
I thought that I was going to be more interested in the lore but I'm not .
Even though I understand Lucia's reaction and confusion, her being angry at people for not understanding HER feelings was insufferable. She has been sheltered her entire life and she just realised it but you can not be mad at people for being as clueless as you were. That's not how it work.
As usual, not a big fan of Lucia but I would die for Modieus.

These volumes are so easy to fly through. I turned the last page thinking I was still only halfway through.
The art style of these comics continues to blow me away. It’s simple, yet so beautiful. I was also pleased to see the evolution of Modeus include some snark in this one. I can’t wait to see how he further evolves and how his relationship with Lucia develops now that everyone is parted from each other.
This installment felt like a breaking point for our dear Lucia. I hope we get more information about her fay heritage and see how she plans to make a difference in the war.
Like the others, this one ended very suddenly but it made more sense with the events leading up to the ending for it to be a bit more jarring than it did in the previous volumes.
I can’t wait to see what happens next!

This volume was my favorite yet. There was a lot of action, or rather a lot of things happened. Not only do we meet the uncle to the King who is a fairy hunter with basically 2 fairy slaves, but he immediately asks to see Lucia’s ears to prove she isn’t an elf. That’s how he says hello, by immediately accusing her of not being human. Funny enough, she had just glamoured her ears, so HA!
I love Modeus so much!! He’s so innocent and sweet. If he didn’t feel so childlike, I’d love him more for Lucia. Maybe over time, his character will start to feel more adult, seeing as how that is who she most definitely is ending up with.

Adorable as always. This series is such a joy to read, even now as it delves into darker, serious themes such as war, guilt, and trauma. Every time I read a volume, I wish it was longer. I know I will be sad when the series ends.
The art is beautiful as always, especially the reveal with the wings—and the matching dress later!
Healthy relationships and patient love interests are my new favorite trope. The romance genre is so toxic much of the time that healthy relationships are a breath of fresh air. I love Modeus and Lucia’s relationship. And Peres and Baynard. And even Reimund and Kirsi!

Delivered via info dump at the beginning we learn more about the dark origins of the human/fae conflict. I don’t mind an info dump but, know that others could take issue with telling and not showing in a visual medium.
It’s always a treat to see Lucia’s wings unbound and Modeus covered in roses was a sweet thing to see. He is learning more about himself and the world around him and I can’t wait to see his progress in subsequent volumes! Keep it coming! 😁Thanks to Clarkson Potter + NetGalley for the lovely e-arc!

This series continues to be a surprise. I am enjoying it so much that I keep being sad it is over when I read the last page. The art is absolutely breath taking and I adore the characters and relationships. The world and its history are very well written. Purpah is amazing at combining different emotions into the story. Some moments make you want to cry, others make you laugh or swoon. When I started this series I did not expect to fall in love with Modius, but I have!

This book took a dark turn! I was not expecting all of the backstory to be so jarring but ooo did it make everything better. I am so excited for the next book as the cliffhanger fires me up for where the story will go!

'Suitor Armor: Volume Three' is definitely a pivotal point in the series that takes it beyond whimsical entertainment and into a much higher tier of fantasy. The scale of this third-installment is much grander. The stakes are higher. The depth of the lore is greater. The lighter romance of the first two books gives way to darkness and a sobering edge.

The art is stunning. The colors really add so much drama. I couldn't put it down once I got started. It is sad, but exciting as the pieces come together. I haven't read the webcomic, but I might have to just so I can see what happens next.

I have absolutely loved following ‘Suitor Armor’, and Volume 3 does not disappoint. This instalment builds beautifully on the previous volumes, deepening the story while continuing to deliver breathtaking artwork and engaging characters. The mix of romance, fantasy, and court intrigue keeps me hooked, and I couldn’t wait to see what twists and turns awaited Lucia and Modeus this time around.

The story continues to develop in such a satisfying way, maintaining the perfect balance of tension, romance, and mystery. Volume 3 builds on the stakes introduced in the earlier volumes, revealing new layers to the world and its conflicts. The pacing is fantastic - every moment feels intentional, whether it's an action-packed scene or a quiet, emotional exchange. The unfolding revelations kept me captivated, and it’s clear that we’re heading toward something even bigger.

The pacing and dialogue make ‘Suitor Armor, Vol 3’ an effortless and enjoyable read. The text never overwhelms the visuals, and everything is laid out in a way that makes the story easy to follow while still leaving room for nuance and depth. It’s the kind of book that you can read quickly but will want to go back and savour all over again.

I received this book in a Goodreads giveaway in exchange for my honest thoughts.
I've been following this webtoon for some time, and I was very excited to receive a copy from a giveaway and see the final edits in book form! With the third volume, we continue to follow our main character, Lucia, and her group of friends, Baynard, Peres, and Modeus as they navigate further political intrigue and new characters coming into play. This volume dives more into the lore of fay-folk and speculation of the beginnings of the war, Lucia combatting with this newfound information, and her feelings of guilt on past inaction vs. what actions she wants to take moving forward now that she knows differently. Essentially, she's adapting from the life she once knew into this new normal of what life has actually always been and what part she wants to play in this new path. Also, there's speculations on Modeus' creation, and how these new leads and realizations in Lucia's life will be processed as she realizes she can come into her own independence and make her own decisions. Overall, I really enjoyed this volume, and I highly recommend people to continue to read the story if they enjoyed the first two volumes, as it gives more background and stakes are escalating.
