Loved seeing more of the backstory concerning Issak's mission and how it came about. Of course there are a number of people I just absolutely hate, namely the prince and Federico. I am happy with the condition we end the volume off with half of those lol! The battles are pretty intense and I enjoy the detail they have brought to bear concerning the styles of the period. Then in the midst of all this chaos we have Zetta. She is kind of like a little angel and even though she plays a few minor parts in the story to date I feel there is something big that will come from her being by Issak's side.

This set starts with some background information so we can gain some perspective on what is happening in Europe between Issak and (Lo)renzo. After that is a siege of the city where Issak and company are. The one thing that bothered me about this whole plot line, as mentioned by several characters, is that despite tens of thousands of soldiers involved in this affair, it really amounts to a 1v1 battle. One sniper against an entire defending garrison. Does he have infinite ammo? Does he never sleep? Action stories like these have a way of focusing on singular figures because it is hard to write about no one in particular, but still it can feel a touch absurd. After Issak is injured, he is trying to get up and do things immediately, since that is what every protagonist does, but is at least temporarily decomissioned. Very quickly after, he is fighting left-handed with apparently no difference. He gets a little bit of plot armor.

The story is as epic as ever and I continue to like Zetta's increasing confidence as Issak's assistant. Of course Double-S slays with the visuals.

Issak (I) continues to hunt down the man who murdered his master and fled to Europe. A siege leaves the forces he is fighting with vulnerable to the skillful sniper he is trying to kill, his one time fellow student Lorenzo (L). After being wounded I must find a way to 'smoke' L out of the forest (where his shots are taking a toll on the will to fight).
