I absolutely loved this book but now will be impatiently awaiting the second book! Pickle and Clay are sweet together and their chemistry is so good. I loved the addition of the connection and more backstory to our KIOP characters! Curious to see of we will see a story about Penny and possibly Deke too. I love L Clara’s characters and their banter I definitely recommend this book and the others in the series!

I am going to start by saying this book made it to level three out of six, For my 2024 book bracket! What book passed it? Another one of L. Clara’s books. 😜
The reunion was not the only thing that was unexpected 👀 It also was the heatwave that radiated from the pages of this book. 🥵

What a joy to have discovered the fun, steamy yet emotional romance writing of skilled author L.Clara. Her latest, The Unexpected Reunion, had me in my feelings confirming this wordsmith's talent.

How do I even start this review. My love for L. Clara is out of this world. She’s been someone I’m so thankful for. Her books just bring me joy every time I read them. The love and support she has for her readers and fans knows no bounds. She truly is a gem in this world of chaos.
The Unexpected Reunion is part one of Clay and Pickle’s story. Like most of her books this does come with Trigger warnings and Swoon worthy love. As much as I would love for each and every one of you to read her beautifully written books. We always want to make sure you take care of yourself mental health.
The story line runs along side The Unexpected match and there is some cross over from book 1. When I got to the crossover, my heart broke again. We get to see what happens during that time through Pickles eyes.
Pickle is the type of best friend that would do everything to protect those she loves and holds her besties close to her heart. Especially one man in particular. Clay, our hot sexy gym owner.
Clay, the ever loving friend finally “shoots his shot” and boy are he and Pickle explosive! His love for her is so tender and you can see him demonstrating this time and again in this book. I love this about him. He cares for her and her besties.
I can’t wait to see what happens next. That cliffy was a jaw dropper.

Ohhhh pickle! I loved a good friend’s to lovers story line. But I loved clay and Kat sooooo much. It’s such an easy thing to fall into and I was so happy for it. It’s two people who finally give into each other in the best of ways. Their story was so realistic and I enjoyed that. Their story is one that flows and never falters.
One of my favorite things the L Clara does is how well she ties in the story lines to all the characters we’ve already met. You get a different point of view of the stories we’ve come to love.
Pickle! You deserve Clay in all the best ways! Live your queer life girly! You get to see the start of their friendship/story and I really loved reading that. You can see how deep their connection has been. And the flirty banter had me giddy the whole time!

Ahh getting Pickle's story was the cherry on top and I am so excited to see into her life even deeper! Grey and Ry were sitting at the top for me, but I think Kat and Clay just won that position! Everything about them just drew me in. I love that their relationship started as best friends, especially during the heartbreak Kat was going through and watching it evolve into what it has was just absolutely beautiful.
Kat and her sassiness...yessss sisstaaa!!! I'm here for alllllll of it!!!! I think I was meant to have this woman in my life. Lol.
But let's talk about the gut punch at the end? Seriously LClara?! You just love watching us readers live in pain?! I think this earns me an additional coffee 🤣

This is my introduction book to this series. I love Pickle and Clay. The trauma she went through with being ditched by Anya broke my heart. I was so happy to see she finally give in and let herself go with Clay. He was so in love with Kat it is so cute! He made her feel safe and gave her the time to let her figure it out for herself! The shock of who her brother is made me so happy! I love the connected universe. The storyline with her sister was sad but I hope we get her story with her guy! This book kept my interest, it has a great plot and amazing character development!

For me, as much as I love this author, I'm not a fan of this book. I did connect with Kat and how devastated she was at the loss of a relationship. She was so scared to open up. I adore Clay and how he did his best to get Kat to talk to him and to show he is different. However, I do not feel that this book needed another book on this couple. I don't see where things couldn't have been resolved with another 100 pages. I'm not a huge fan of dragging things out. Still love this author, but this book isn't a favorite.

Oooo we all need a Clay in our life! He was amazing, kind, patient, and gosh he sounded so attractive.
The story itself was amazing.

I really enjoyed this book. I thought Clay and Pickle had a cute, fun, and great banter in their relationship. I really enjoyed the story line and how friendship and caring each person is for each other. I am curious what will happen in the next book with Penny coming into the story line. I thought overall this book was an easy read, and I loved the characters.

OMG! I loved this!! It's Pickle & Clay's story & it was awesome! She's had a lot of loss in her life & I loved seeing her overcome it. Clay was everything!! I loved the storyline & the spice!! Be forewarned, it ends on a cliffy!! Every book she writes puts us through the emotional wringer & I'm here for it!! Highly recommend this book & author!!

This is such a great book! It's one we have wanted, and it did not disappoint. Pickle and Clay didn't meet under the greatest of circumstances, but it forged a great friendship. The way.their.relationship grows is beautiful. I loved this story, and we see some crossover from The Unexpected Match. I definitely recommend this book!

Run - don’t hesitate- get this book!!! Get the entire series! Seriously - this book has all the feels (watch the TWs). It does end on a cliff but it’s perfect. Pickle and Clay are meant to be together. I love that we get to know Kat a lot more so we can understand her. I can’t wait for the next book to find out what happens! Seriously - so good!

I truly enjoyed getting to know Kat and her friends. They seem like such great people. I loved all the real-life references. That ending, though!!!!!! Look forward to book 2 and seeing where the story goes.

The fmc is kat she is an insecure woman at first, and then there is the mmc Clay. He has been in love with kat from the beginning. But kat liked clay but put up a wall because she didn't want to get hurt. We'll clay brings someone home for dinner that knows kat. He brings the wrong person.

L. Clara did it again! Gah, I love this story, these friends, the romantic suspense of it all. You have to read the first two books in this series to not have spoilers for them. But, the execution is done so well and L. Clara deserves more hype.

Connor has always been my favourite in the series, but I tell ya, Clay just gave him a run for his money.
This book was amazing. It was spicy, comical, and highly emotional.

OMG!!! Did I really just read that book nonstop, yes I did. I could not put it down and it just flow by. The ending came out of nowhere. Oh, here is your warning that it ends on a massive cliffhanger. Also, please check your trigger warnings. No, this is not a dark book but it does have some dark topics talked about. Up until the shocking cliffhanger this was looking to be a HEA, and I’m hoping it stays that way with book 2.

Omg.
She has done it again. I have been through all her books and loved all her characters and here we are again with an another amazing one.
We have been waiting to hear pickles story and omg was it not the perfect wait.
But just you wait she left a cliffy at the end. Like seriously we just have to have a cliffy at the end after all that. Now I need more. Her books are like an addiction and now I need to know what happened. I need more of her work. So a must read.

Holy hell this book really had me not wanting to put it down. I wasn’t sure I needed to cry for Hadley or be so proud of how strong she is. But pickle’s adventures was impressive especially how her parents were verses how her brother and sister are. But the connection of her and clay was amazing on how open he is and how amazing he’s been to her . But that cliff hanger was wow !
