Gabrielle Lawrence left Harrington with no intentions of looking back. Now a successful tattoo artist with her own shop, she’s rewritten her life to erase every memory of The Six - the high school clique who made her miserable, led by the ruthless Jocelyn. But when her best friend drags her back for a bachelorette party, Gabrielle stumbles right into the arms of the one who shattered her Jace Caufford.
Jace was the golden boy - prom king, football captain, heartthrob - until a career-ending injury wrecked his dreams and left him grappling with his own demons. Now, years later, he’s back in Harrington, living in his childhood home and raising a son he never knew existed. The last thing he expects to see is Gabrielle, fierce and untouchable back in his life.
What starts as a reluctant reconnection soon ignites into an impulsive night of passion, but with old habits - and old rivals - standing in their way, forgiveness won’t come easy. Can Gabrielle and Jace overcome the heartbreak of their past and the new threats that loom, or will Jocelyn and The Six ensure their second chance is over before it begins?
Inked Magnolia is the first book in the Bright Ridge Six Series. Each book is an interconnected standalone that explores the complex past and present of one of the members of The Six. This book is a second chance, single dad romance with tropes such as hurt/comfort, redemption, past bully turned lover, and found family.
India Vane lives in SoCal with her husband, Mike, and their three pets. A lifetime avid reader, India has always dreamed of bringing her own stories to the world, doing so with her debut novel “Alligator Blood”. When she’s not busy working or on an adventure (either in person or in a Dungeon & Dragons campaign), you can find her on the couch cuddled up in her Ghostface fleece blanket watching disturbing horror movie marathons and eating enough snacks for an entire kindergarten class.
Wow... Just wow. If I could give it 10 stars I would. I could probably write an essay (probably not a good one lol) on Inked Magnolia, but I won't do that. I will give you 3 reasons why you should make this your next read.
1) The characters are fantastic. Our FMC Gabby is just someone I loved. While her teenage years were heartbreaking, her growth, strength and confidence in her adulthood was beautiful. Jace the MMC...this freaking man! What a redemption arc! I loved reading his point of view. This couple are just adults making amends and wanting love and do right be one another. As for side characters, they are just as important as the main characters. Loved Jeannie, Layla and Liam so much.
2) The plot was great and the writing flowed the whole way through. I'm not one to care if something is a bit choppy or out of place but damn India knocked it out of the park with this book. Inked Magnolia made me cry, laugh and straight swoon. I was absolutely in my feels reading this one. Just a heartwarming story that will be a top read for me this year.
3) As you all know, I love my smut/spice in what I read. While this book isn't the spiciest thing I've ever read, the relationship between Jace and Gabby made the smut scenes just so hot. Jace has a dirty mouth and isn't afraid to treat Gabby like goddess she is. The groveling scene was sheer perfection. The scenes felt authentic and real. It made the connection to these beautiful characters that much stronger.
I can't wait to see what the rest of this series holds and who we will meet. Thank you India for the ARC!
This is my first read from India Vine and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
After dealing with bullying and parental neglet, Gabrielle left her adopted hometown never planning to return. That is until fifteen years later when her BFF is set to get married and she has to show up for a bachelorette party.
Though she’s wary of returning she’ll do anything for her friend. The night of the party is going well until she runs into Jace, a man from her past that broke not only her heart but her spirit.
Both are stunned yet pulled to each other to reconnect and see if they can overcome the past between them. After finding out what happened between them, I was so invested in seeing how they would figure it out and come together in the end. Add in some great side characters and this is a well rounded story of finding love again after heartbreak.
If you like small town, single dad, second-chance enemies to lovers romance, you should definitely check this out! There are some heavy emotional moments throughout the book, so check your triggers.
Oh, the emotional rollercoaster this book takes you on!! There’s so many laughs especially between FMC Gabby & her bestie, Jeannie. But there’s also a little heartache. Having said that, a book that gives you all the feels is definitely worth a read & this new release from India Vane is beautiful!!
From Senior Year in high school to 15 years on, life has changed for Gabby. But a bachelorette party rehashes old memories when the devilishly handsome Jace, former star Quarterback quite literally thrusts back into her life. A whirlwind of attraction, feelings & revelations on both sides set the scene for this amazing read!! I wholeheartedly recommend it & I can’t wait for book 2!!
India is quickly creeping into my list of top authors, so go check her books out!
okay so when i first realised that Jace was Gabby's old bully, i kept the book down and didnt read for a while cause i HATE bukky romances. But luckily, i decided to give the book a chance and im so glad i did cause i love them sm :(
the character development for both the characters were amazing, the story was amazing, but i loved the healing the most. the way both of them took years to heal and get themselves together and the way they also heal each other just made me cry. everything about the whole healing process was amazing. also Liam best character.
very excited for the other books for the remaining 5, especially Jocelyn cause MAN i hate her. i hate her so much.
This was my first "bully romance" and I adored it! Not only was the central conflict sensitively handled, but the redemption arc had me empathizing deeply, and cheering the two leads on. I cared immensely about Gabby and Jace, both as individuals and as two halves of a relationship. They felt real and well-rounded, and I would have followed them anywhere. Ms. Vane seamlessly wove the past and present sections together in just the right way, and at just the right times.
The only downside is that the book is over and I miss spending time with them!
Luckily, there are 5 more books in the series, exploring more stories in this world, so I have a lot to look forward to.
Inked Magnolia was one of the sweetest books l've read in a while. The imagery, the meaning behind was story, and as a cherry on top, we get a character with perseverance that brings you to tears. Inked Magnolia warmed my heart. This was truly a, "just one more chapter," book for me, and I haven't come by one of those in a hot minute! India's storytelling is sweet, exciting, and heartwarming. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in the Bright Ridge Six Series.
