This is book 4 of the series. Please start by reading book 1, which is free here on Amazon.
Emma is marrying Craig, and Vivian is marrying Hawk. A dream come true for all of them. But their lives wouldn't be complete without a great surprise and a good shock. Too bad the night ends in devastation for someone.
Romance trope: Romantic suspense; wedding story Series: Edge of the Heat Length: 56 pages
Plot: Craig and Emma and Hawk and Vivian are having a double wedding. Everything is going according to plan, but one of their guests finds himself in a tricky spot at the end of the night.
Commentary: This isn't so much a continuation of Craig/Emma and Hawk/Vivian as it is a bridge to the next set of stories in the series. It was very short, just long enough to introduce us to Sara, who will play a big part in the next book.
Jerry has a date with Sara. Sara was his Physical Therapist until a couple of days ago. And Jerry really likes her. Sara said she could not date him because he was a patient. So Jerry waited patiently until he was recovered and now tries again knowing Sara said he was better.
At the receiption Emma and Vivian meet Sara and Sara has a strange look after learning that hawk and Craig are FBI.
Sara leaves with no word to anyone. Jerry goes to find her and shows up to Sara's apartment and it is destroyed. Jerry is worried that Sara has been kidnapped. So we go into Book #5 on the search for Sara.
Anything Lisa Ladew I love and can’t get enough of and I love love love this series. This is a quick and easy read but the mystery and intrigue and good loving keeps you turning the pages. A lot of loose ends were put to rest in this book that left you wondering from the others. There are new twists and a cliffhanger…… Noooooooooooooo!!!!! There is never a dull moment in Lisa’s books and this one has more questions that I hope to read in the next book. I. Can. Not. Wait. This is one series that you will kick yourself if you don’t read it. With thrills, murder, mystery and intrigue and characters so twisted, what more could you want!
By: Lisa Ladew Narrated by: Anya West Series: Edge of the Heat, Book 4 Length: 1 hr and 30 mins
I listened to this book at 1.40x. To 1.50x I did have a problem with the big deep breath taken before every sentence. It would have been nice if it was edited out. Very distracting .
Surprisingly good. Couldn't put down. Very much going on. Firefighting, FBI involved, crooked cops. EMT. doctors.
Looking forward to book 5
Vocal artist Anya West did a really good job being it to life. But I had to listen to it at 1.40x or 1.50x to make it more exciting.
This is the shortest of these four books. This is the story of the double wedding of the twins, Emma and Vivian. They marry the loves of their lives and we get descriptions of everything. Just so you know, it ends in a cliff hanger.
This is just the wedding a short read.but I do have a problem this follows on from book 3. But it was said they was getting married in 3 months from the last attack. This book is a year later from the last attack.
I devoured these books. They are AMAZING! This series is the first I have read of Lisa Ladew's. I will definitely be buying any book I can get my hands on by her.
The only reason problem I had at all with this series is the story changed at times. It is a big pet peeve of mine when an author doesn't keep their own story straight. In the first book, after a the bakery explodes, Craig and Emma are partners at a meeting. He tells her one of the injured reminded him of his mom. She had died from cancer 3 years prior. However in book 4, Craig's mom and dad at the wedding and happily married after 30 years. I overlook and dont even catch most small things like this, but this was a big one to change in my opinion. Otherwise this whole series would be a solid 5 stars!!!!!
I also would of liked to read about the arrest of the fire chief. In the first book, Craig is undercover and finds incrimination evidence on the fire chiefs computer. But he is never mentioned in the subsequent books.....even after they tied up the investigation.
I was so looking forward to this one, however when I read it, to me I found it to be quite short and I didn’t think it was truly awesome as books 2 and 3. I felt like there was such a huge gap in the year that passed and honestly I would loved to have known how things went but either way I did find how everything turned out to be pretty sweet. Everything seemed to be behind Emma, Vivian, Craig and Hawke as they were to be getting married, however if they make it to the day then honestly that would be good. However I’m not going to tell you how it goes because honestly it’s more fun for you to find out for yourself.
Loved this one. It is short but if you get the Ebola from amazon for the kindle or kindle app it is free! I loved everything about this book. It toes up all the loose ends from the first three books but leaves you with a couple of new issues. I cant wait for the next book to be published!
This shouldn't be a spoiler since it is a romance series after all but stop reign the review right here if you don't want any information concerning the actual events I this one.
The double wedding was amazing and absolutely gorgeous!
A little story to the Edge of the Heat readers, where we are invited to witness the double wedding. The story does not go deeper than that, there isn't more suspense, character development, or substance, just a glimpse to the wedding extravagance. With few hints of things coming in future books. And it ends in cliff-hanger about Jerry. I don't like cliff-hangers, they are a huge turnoff for me. Just my opinion, nothing against the author.
it is amazing I would like to know if they find the brother, I just love Lisa's writing is amazing I love this series so much it was easy getting into the book I could not put out down you want to read a good series read this one can't wait for 5 and I'll be happy to read what ever Lisa writes you have a new fan
So Emma and Vivian end up getting married to Craig and Hawk... and it's all wedding wedding wedding until Jerry arrives with his date, the beautiful and exotic-ish Sara, his former physical therapist who acts weird when she sees Hawk. It ends in a cliffhanger after the wedding when Craig sees Jerry on the news because Sara's apartment was ransacked. Hmmm.
This was a short novella of Craig and Emma and Vivian and Hawk's wedding. Both couple tie the knot in a double wedding and get the best wedding present of all! They find out they have a brother out there! It sets the stage for the books to come. I love these couples and was so glad to see them tie the knot.
loved that the sisters did this....sorry for Jerry in the end...hope it turns out ok for him....can't wait to find out in his book...hurry,hurry, hurry......please
tied up some loose ends...could have been better by including the grooms thoughts and plans. cliffhanger ending sets up next book...actually 2 cliffhanger: Vic and Emma aren't twins...their triplets! there's a brother out there they must find. And what happened to Jerry' s date?
This story (that I somehow missed lol) is a short bridge between book 3 and book 4. It could've easily for at the end of book 3 I think. It just details the wedding and starts the beginning of Jerry's story and I believe sets the stage for book 6
2.5 stars - Painfully hard to read. Too many errors. It took away from the stories in this series. Same problem with all of them. Also, for me, the stories were just not engaging. I really wanted to like these.
Well, that sucked. Not going to lie, I expected much better after how book 3 went. I loved that they met family and all, but a double wedding, especially so soon after meeting these guys- even if I love their characters. Eye roll.
This novella is a nice follow-up for readers of the past 3 Heat books. Not only do we see the big double wedding but there are also some hints as to what is to come in future entries.
