We get another versus battle here, this time between a demon army and aliens. More and more, humans are shown as not even prey but almost mere annoyances. There isn't any hint yet what quality humans might have that will let them win out, other than perhaps ingenuity. Often in this kind of story it might be faster breeding, or indomitable will, or speed of technological advancement, but none of those seem useful in this setting. Excited to see where things are going.

However, it looks like Hallow and his mage brother are going to be chosen one heroes and I find that a little annoying. I'd rather have all of the cast make major contributions with nobody standing head and shoulder above everyone else.

A hopeless situation but with small glimpses of hope. Aliens vs. Demons vs. Kaiju with the humans aiding one side or the other and trying to escape. Lesser of two evils.
