I have never really been a fan of friends to lovers, but this one here! Yes, please! Donavan Matthew’s absolutely yes please!
Ivory and Donavan‘s relationship was so pure. I have a soft spot for high school relationships lol but apparently the unexpected always wins in the end.

What a Beautiful read! I was captivated by the book and read it without taking any breaks!
Love really can not be placed in a box with love you are forever learning it and it is always being redefined.
Here we see Ivory who has recently had her heart broken by what she thought was going to be the love of her life with another one.
She soon realizes that would not be her reality with her fiancé bailing out on their wedding and never speaking to her again.
Ivory then finds herself in the shelter of her best friend Donovan. She’s never seen him as anything more than a friend because she has only had eyes for another woman but Donovan begins to make her question things about herself such as her love for him as more than a friend and her sexuality.
She doesn’t know how to navigate these feelings that she’s feeling but with Donovan she is willing to step out and give it a try even if it was confusing.
This relationship between Donovan and Ivory was nothing short of beautiful. I enjoyed every moment of watching Ivory fall head over heels for him and rediscover love with a man and her best friend.
Donovan was everything a woman like Ivory could ask for in this process of confusion. He was kind, sweet, patient, understanding, attentive to her needs, and did I mention he is Fineeee haha! I ate this book UPPP!

Donovan was so thoughtful and expressive with his feelings for Ivory throughout their relationship. His love language was taking care of her, even when she didn't prioritize herself, and I love a good attentive man! He's a good man Savannah!!
This book had me smiling and reading at some of the things this man said and did for his love. I loved their teasing and the healthy family dynamics between her people and his. While this is very much a romance novel, there is also a side plot with a little unexpected turn of events for the girlies who want a bit more excitement. I also liked that Ivory was able to explore a different part of her sexyality in a caring environment, and nothing was forced or rushed. If you're looking for a new swoon worthy book bae, then give this one a try. I never thought of men who play golf as sexy, but I might need to go find me a Donovan down at the clurbbbb😂

First things first, Briyanna that plot twist was crazy! They thought they were Slick Rick with that foolishness 😂.
Friends to lovers can be iffy iffy with me but this was cute, funny, spicy and emotional. Donavon was stealing the show for me. He was so patient, gentle, caring, strong, and supportive. After Ivory went through something horrible he was there like a best friend should. This time he wasn’t holding his feelings back and let Ivory know what was on his heart. They have history that is already full of love and respect. So it was nice to see a man let the woman take the lead on how fast they move. Especially going from only being with women and now trying a man. Thankfully it was with someone like Donavon.
I do wish we got a little more of the sports because i believe this is my first golf profession. Love when authors change it up. All in all a really enjoyable read. Make sure to read the author’s note for any warnings.

I enjoyed this story. There were a few parts that were a bit corny to me, but I chalked it up to that was the way of their friendship.
Because one day you’re lesbian, headed to the alter and the next you’re looking at your best friend like he’s the real, true love of your life.
That’s the nature of Ivory’s current situation. Going her whole life only interested in women until the worst day of her life turns into the greatest blessing she’d ever encounter.
Donovan has been in love with his best friend since the first day he met her in 10th grade. He’s been good at keeping his feelings at bay because she’s never held an interest in men before at all. Now that she’s in a bad emotional space, him helping her heal is turning into more than he can chew. Does he take a chance and express his feelings or leave it alone.
Ivory rediscovering herself was so eye-opening and commendable. Breaking free of social constructs and making a way for yourself takes courage.

This one feels like a warm hug and a forehead kiss at the same time. Briyanna did a great job with the friends to lovers Trope. It definitely delivered. This one’s a quick read—you could finish it in a day (I did!)—but it sticks with you like your favorite blanket. Donovan? Whew. That man made a whole friends-to-lovers bucket list for Ivory. Like… sir, are you trying to ruin the bar for everyone else??
He made her feel so safe, so secure… I was reading like dang, am I Ivory? Because I felt seen, protected, and LOVED. He was patient, attentive, and just an all-around good man. No crumbs were left.
What I really adored was how much the story centered around their friendship. You can feel the history between Donovan and Ivory—the way they just get each other is beautiful. This was absolutely exquisite!!! Everything about this book was tooth achingly sweet.... You could have blew me over like a feather once the significance of this book's cover and the title. Briyanna girl.... you wrote this like you had something to prove to a person who said they hate friends to lovers.
Donavan had me giggling and kicking me feet on the couch for hours on end! My face hurts from how bad I was cheesing over the lavish dates and the beautiful words he dropped on us. Just when we asked how could he top the 1st date he doubled down. As much as he gave to her, she made sure to show her appreciation! This wasn't a one sided romance and once we learned about their history it all made sense.

This is my least favourite trope but this story has made me realize that not all friends to lovers story are corny.
This story is so relatable and enjoyable to read
It starts off with Ivy being stood up at the altar as a wedding planner and a member of the lgbtq community , the occurrence leaves her broken hearted and lost.
Her best friend Dj(Donavon) a professional golfer and her secret admirer , has always made it his priority to keep her safe and happy.
Being childhood besties since 9th grade, he has always been skeptical about telling her the truth about the feelings he has been harbouring for her for over 20 years.
Will this be the opportunity he has been waiting for?

Are you ready for your next book boyfriend…..or husband? Here ye hear ye I have found him! Lol seriously the way this book has been living in my mind weeks after reading is a beautiful thing. Donovan and ivory have been best friends since high school and now they are adults in their respective careers. Ivory is suppose to embark on a huge chapter of her life but something happens causing Donavan to step up ….per usual for him ….Donovan has always been there for ivory in every way and Ivory is starting to see that what she needs has always been right there. Listen here me out this book is sweet, sexy, heartfelt, alittle mystery but mostly LOVE. Definitely one to add to your list for anytime you want to read love on the pages of a book.

not, going to lie that lie gave me high hopes that i dont feel the book lived up to. I loved Donovan down, real bad but it doesnt touch on him reading romance novels outside of him having books and planning the most swoon worthy dates.
Donovan has been secretly in love with his bestfriend for years but shes getting married to the woman of her dreams. All he asks for is one shot.
Okay, I feel like the book was a bit rushed. Theres a good bit of side missions outside of the original plot that needed to play out to wrap them up better. Some of their responses are so wordy it doesnt flow. I liked the book i think it needed a few (50-100) more pages.

you can count on Briyanna Michelle to give you a real lover boy! Donovan is everything a girl could wish for. I enjoyed watching DJ and Ivory relationship blossom throughout the story. At first, I thought it was very sexual and I must admit I felt a bit weird about that. But in the end I realized that all the lovely, tender moments I look for in romance books in general were already there, right from the start, thanks to the very close-knit nature of their friendship.
I really had a good time reading this book, the spice was definitely spicier(and nastier) than I thought it would be.

Honestly this was not my favorite by Briyanna, but it was just okay. I didn’t love it, I didn’t hate it. I’m on the fence about the transition from lesbian to bisexual but it does happen. You really can’t help who you fall for. I respect how he approached the situation, but with how soon everything happened after she was left at the alter it just felt rushed. I enjoyed the plot twist about the ex tho.

I don't feel the mess of a break up, and the issues that come with that were properly navigated. I have similar issues with her sexuality and the lack of detail on that. Both are very complex things that could have used more detail.
also hated the wedding scene. it was too outlandish for my tastes. I also hate that Ivy chose to be stoic when faced with her scammer ex bc who would be after being left at the altar. but it was an overall fun, quick read

This is a friends to lovers trope that I thought I’d hate but don’t. It’s fast so don’t expect a slow build. I feel like I hear each character so clearly. While listed as a sports romance there was very little sports which was a win for me!
I really loved the playful writing style & distinct voices here.

I knew that Donovan was going to be supreme but he was wonderful . The way he supported Ivory and she supported him is really the love story. After Ivory’s fiancé does the unthinkable Donovan really shows up her and gives the love she really deserves. Briyanna know how to write a man and I thoroughly enjoyed this story.

This book was a must read. It had spice throughout I loved how she took her time. The FMC didn’t have to rush to find herself. I like how open she was with the reality for bi women. It was nice how she included the ex to give her closure. It was nice seeing her get everything she deserved. It took heartache to find herself and her love.

This book had me kicking my feet and giggling 🤭 . A best friend love story between Donovan and Ivory. A great follow up to “Maybe I Need You,” Matthew brothers up 2. The true definition of always go after what you what. Donovan was so gentle with Ivory and ensured her every need was met. Thanks to Book Funnel for the Arc, looking forward to the next one!

Okay reallyyyyy it’s 4.5/ 4.75. I truly enjoyed this book! I thought it was so amazing to see the way Donovan showed up for her. The questions they had throughout their journey to love were so real. Not a full 5 simply because some references were TOO modern. I want books to be timeless. Like I know in a few+ years some of the references are gonna be missed.

This book was so cute! This is my second read from this author & she didn’t disappoint! The chemistry was everything between Donavan and Ivory. Ivory deserves the best after what she went through un her past relationship.

Amazing read
This was an amazing read. I loved how Donny always showed up and showed out till Ivory really saw him for the man he was. I love the banter between them. Glad they got their happy ending . A Vera got off too easy in my opinion . Love this series …

The story was good. It was a thoughtful look at different points of view about relationships,friendship, the LBGTQ community, and changing ones point of view about preferences. You should read this story with an open mind...
