We're going back to Bellport!! This is Rodney's book.
I read another book in this series and loved it, but I think this one wasn't for me. I enjoyed Andry. He was a natural caretaker and very kind. I also enjoyed Rodney. He was thoughtful and intelligent. I thought the dynamic was fun with Andry being a jock and a daddy and Rodney being a nerd and somewhat of a little. I liked the instalust and watching Rodney finally accept Andry's love. I also loved the found family of sports daddies. What I didn't quite love was the drama. I didn't fully understand the PR plan and many times I felt like things were a tad overdramatic. Also, when we first meet Andry he states he won't be dating while in college, then two seconds later he's in love. It was just a lot, which was fun, but not my favorite.
Notes: 1/5 spice levels, daddy/boy, some age regression, hockey, jock/nerd, college, who did this to you, size difference
Started off ok then went slowly downhill until it completely crashed off course. MCs good, plot good, side characters ok, execution of the small details to the important stuff eh…. Spoilers……
In no particular order here are my issues…and I didn’t get them all. 1.) Andry goes to Rodney’s for lunch on a game day….then it’s nighttime when he leaves, no game? 2.) Rodney has his first kiss at the party, next scene of any intimacy they are having sex like they do it all the time. 3.) Andry’s coach doesn’t tolerate homophobia but does he? Liam and the others should have been suspended or kicked off the team well before that. 4.) Seems a bit much for grown ass men to kidnap and beat up someone they consider a “kid” and then completely destroy their lives. 5.) I could get on board with part 4 IF Liam did something horrible to Rodney, the kid tripped on accident. And let’s be honest Rodney had every opportunity to walk away. Liam answered his phone for Christ’s sakes. 6.) The “Daddy Allegience Group”?!?!? What are they 12? 7.) Rodney is curious about regression, didn’t see that anywhere in the book. 8.) Rodney got that text from “Andry”, then comes hoping down the stairs hungry and laughing the next morning. If I was Andry sitting in that kitchen, I’d be a bit upset/hurt my boy could feel better already.
Another wonderful story by the awesome A.W. Scott. I haven’t read a book of AWS that I didn’t enjoy. This one hit close to home because of the bullying experience. I could feel what Rodney, one of the MC in the story was feeling when he was being bullied. AWS did a wonderful job capturing the feelings and the frustrations of being bullied.
The story focuses on Rodney, one of the students at Bellport University who has been bullied by several BU hockey players. He has this immense dislike for athletes. One day, he happened to bump into this gorgeous stud on campus. Then later, he found out he was the new foreign exchange student on the hockey team. Naturally, his swooning turned into dislike.
That gorgeous stud was Andry who moved to Bellport from Russia to play hockey and finish his studies. His ultimate goal was to play for a professional hockey team that are gay-friendly because he happens to be gay. After bumping into this beautiful short guy on campus, he found out that this guy happened to be a tutor. He wanted and needed help with English so he made sure he was paired with this guy.
When Rodney and Andry finally met, was it fireworks or a fire that needed to be doused? I’ll let you find out when you pick up the book and read it! Happy reading!
We are back in Bellport with Rodney and Andry’s book. I absolutely love A.W. Scott’s Bellport books so I knew I had to read this one ASAP. I loved how this book had some of the other characters from the other books come in too.
Rodney is the little brother of Aries and is a super smart tutor. He gets picked on by the university hockey team so he isn’t a huge fan of hockey players in general. In comes Andry. Rodney didn’t believe that Andry truly wanted him at first but after time went on, Andry proved he really wanted Rodney.
I really liked how Andry always knew what Rodney was thinking/feeling. He always made sure to make Rodney feel comfortable and was patient with him leading up to their relationship. Andry was so committed to Rodney and got along super well with his family. I really liked how Andry became friends with Aries to become part of the daddy group.
I cannot wait to read more in the series. I have missed Bellport and all of the other characters so the fact they made appearances made me so happy. I love how the characters stepped up to help Andry and Rodney because they knew how much they meant to each other.
I loved this story so much!!This story is part of a multi author series, but also connect to the world of Bellport in previous book by this author. Though the story has a lot of cameos and familiar characters it can be read as a standalone. I love that Rodney finally gets his story and finds his relationship and protector. Someone who sees and loves him for who he is and just wants to take care of him. Plus, can connect with his very close family. Andry is perfect for Rodney. Not only is he a great character, but his love for Rodney is so clear. Their journey is amazing. Also, I love Andry joining the Daddies in Bellport. They are hilarious together. I also like that Rodney’s relationship with his brother wasn’t down played, instead Andry gains a family and friends. This story is full of cuteness, possessiveness, and found family. I highly recommend this story! I can’t wait for more stories!
Rodney, a student at Bellport U, despises hockey players due to past bullying. However, he finds himself drawn to Andry, a charming foreign exchange student on a hockey scholarship, despite his attempts to avoid him. Andry, focused on joining a professional hockey team, finds his plans sidetracked by his unexpected attraction to Rodney. When Andry's teammates interfere with their blossoming relationship, he enlists help to deal with the situation.
This was a sweet story of Rodney who was a brilliant academic and ice hockey player Andry. I liked that they that they had aligning kinks as well as a strong attraction. I loved the way that the other Bellport Daddies were drawn into the story. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a Daddy/boy dynamic.
I could not finished sorry :( 40% in and a lot of thing doesn’t make sense. The hockey player is kinda poor and comes with like a scholarship or something but how did he play hockey back in Russia if he is poor ? It cost money !
Then he could not experiment his kinks but he is a daddy ? 🧐 help me with this one…
The insta love was so confusing. They don’t know shit about each other but even before their first date they have already kiss and he wants to be his daddy ? 🫥 Like does he not wonder if he is in that kink? 🤣 nothing makes sense.
Then the plot hole and small details error was the last nail in the coffin.
Haven’t read a book of hers I haven’t loved and this one is no exception. The way she writes her characters you feel the love and protectiveness the daddies have for their boys and the adoration the boys have for their daddies. Loved the way she wrote the part after the game when Andry got Rodney home. When you get a group of littles together it’s so fun to read. The hints she gives about potential new characters are the best. If I can’t move to Belport then pleases keep writing about them, the are my book found family.
I love a good, sweet, daddy kink, romp and this delivered.
Russian college Hockey player/Prodigy PHD student & tutor
This one was everything you want for a sweet summer read… love at first sight, reluctance due to bullying/homophobia (outside sources), found family, and a cast of rowdy characters, that if you’re familiar with the Scottverse are well loved.
Can be read as a standalone, but the magic is in the lore and cameos that intertwine all of Scott’s books.
Sports romance/ MM/ college/ opposites attraction/ college/ instalove/ DdLb/ found family/ HEA
Trigger warning: bullying/ violence/ homophobia
I liked this one. It was more subtle with the DdLb aspect but there are different levels to kink so it was refreshing to get a different perspective into that particular lifestyle.
I really liked the MCs as well as all of the side characters. I do wish there was more spice.
loved Andry and Rodney. Rodney is very quiet, intelligent and keeps himself to himself, trying to stay away from a certain bully. Andry has been sponsored to come and play hockey for Bellport college. The first time Andry and Rodney bump into each other Andry knew Rodney was the boy for him , he just had to prove it. brilliant read thoroughly enjoyed
It carries a sense of exoticism filtered through an American gaze.
The plot feels more like a TikTok-style mini drama than a fully developed novel with coherent logic.
And the guy’s got a mafia uncle who’ll kill for him, but his family’s dirt poor and lives off coal mining? Sounds like the author threw every Russian stereotype they found online into one character.
Omg. I loved this story so much. Even though it can be read as a standalone, I loved the little Easter eggs and cameos. I also really enjoyed how possessive and protective the Daddy was in this book. Can I get more please?! 😍😍😍
I love Andry and Rodeny’s book. I love how upon their first meeting Andry decides Rodney is the person for him, no question. I also love how Andry takes Rodney’s thoughts and concerns so seriously. I love how, even after all the problems he’s had, Rodney does his best to trust Andry and let him be the Daddy he’s meant to be. I love how Andry treats Rodney’s family and joins with the other Daddies in Bellport for some well deserved justice. This is a great book, and you don’t need to have read any of the connected books to understand the story and who everyone is (but they’re great so you should read them too, the Bellport series at least).
Tutoring Mr. Hotshot by A.W. Scott is part of the multi-author series Daddies of the League. Tutoring Mr. Hotshot is about Andry and Rodney (Rodney is Aries' younger brother from A Little Christmas: Raymond). I loved Andry and Rodney. Their story was so good. It was sweet, full of feels and very well written.
