The beginning is fun…

But unfortunately it falls apart as the story gets more and more convoluted as it goes on. It loses its focus on the lovers and their relationship, trading their flirty courtship and kink experimentation for descriptions of the Krampus/elf caste system and vague explanations about why Krampuses and elves don’t get along.

Sorry, I can’t recommend this one.

The beginning of this book was promising, with a retired teacher and a she Krampus who’d quietly pined for him. Their dynamic was great. But then things got inconsistent and convoluted once they reached Krampus island. I liked the dystopian set up. Just not the contradictions

A sweet and spicy Christmas-y tale. Die Hard but make it candy BDSM too. Oh yeah, candy shibari. Mhmm! This was such a fun read, I didn't want to put it down! I loved Liselotte and Gerhard so much!

This book was a great read I couldn't put it down. I was on a Rollercoaster with it. From being happy to worried to laughing out loud literally. I was so invested in the characters from the beginning. I loved how we get the details we need and there isn't a lot of bouncing around in the story plot. The characters were like real people by the end of this book, and the story was really well written.

This was an interesting kinky tale of a monster romance but this time the FMC is the monster and in love with a human male. The connection and interactions with the main characters is on FIRE and I love how Ms. Krampus is someone who is used to taking charge (professionally and personally) and having her describe her submission is truly transformative and insightful. It felt like I was entering subspace with her.

The world building seemed really slapdash and it could be argued it was part of Ms. Krampus's personality to be controlling and hold things close to her chest and keep things from her fiancé...but they shouldn't be kept from the reader. It felt like the plot was moving along when new knowledge is conveniently revealed to either create a new obstacle or to miraculously fix the problem. As soon as the reader starts to get comfortable with the surroundings, suddenly things change and we need to keep up or get lost. If it was a simpler story or picking and choosing one or two elements to focus on as well as the romantic/sexual relationship, it would have been a cleaner, more concise story.

Liselotte is Ms Krampus and is on her yearly one journey to Earth to check in with the humans she is to take care of. But her sole thought is on the home of one of her former charges. She has a mission to accomplish.
Gerhard is a Dom and a switch. He has enjoyed the one night yearly visits of Ms Krampus as she does her job with his son. But now his son is too old for that and he is preparing to never see her again.
Until she lays her cards on the table (literally) and tells him she wants him for forever. Now they are entering her realm. It isn't how he envisioned it but he's there for her. There are hoops he has to jump and now their marriage has to be put off by two days. Two days later they return for their ceremony when the elves invade. It's up to Gerhard and Liselotte to save everyone in Krampus territory. Will they be able to especially when Santa shows up?
A cute darkish story that will bring a thrill and a chill to the reader.

Gleeful Goblin Review: Generally speaking I'm not one for Christmas themed romances BUT this author is one of the few that I'm down to read whatever they put in front of me because I know it's gonna be a fun time. And wow did this one not disappoint in that regard! This is definitely a quirky story with its own twist on Krampus mythology in that Krampus duties aren't performed by just one Krampus but by many of them in a manner that reminds me (in the best way) of Monsters Inc. Our story focuses on a female Krampus who finally makes a move on the single dad whose naughty child she visited annually but is now grown and out of the house. There's a romance of course but there's also some B.D.S.M. as implied by the title and cover of this book. And lemme say, as a switch, I felt SEEN. This is part spicy romance, part small town AND office politics, plus monsters, all equalling an excellent time. 5/5 Stars.

A cozy, low angst, BDSM, Christmas story.
🔸️I am not sure if author's writing style fits my preferences. Technically there is nothing wrong, simply not the way I really enjoy.
🔸️What I liked in this story it is the concept of 2 older, mature MCs and magical Christmas realm full of treats and creatures (all presented in different than traditional angle). Well done.
🔸️The story has romance, andventure and gentle kinky spice.
For all who crave Christmas monster romance written from different perspective.

I had been lucky to read most of this on another platform that I subscribe to but enjoyed a re-read. Anything to do with Krampus and Christmas, is appealing at this time of year.
As always, the talented artist Kit Fox, provides a great cover. The characters were great too, with the reversal of roles re monster/woman. It is Liselotte who is a female Krampus, needing the right man for the role as father. Gerhard is a solo Dad, retired teacher. She chooses well despite all the antics going on around them. A refreshing reversal of roles that I enjoyed. :D

I have liked the Marilyn Barr books I have read in the past but this one was lacking in something. It is hard to put my finger on it, but I was no where near as engaged as I usually am.

Pros - I loved that it was about a female Krampus! I have never read anything that portrayed Krampus as female I loved it. I enjoyed the fact that there were multiple Krampus' and they each had their own "territory" to take care of.

Cons - I could not get into Gerhard.

Overall I did like the story, and it does get exciting towards the end in a way I did not expect, but I did not love it.

I will be the first to admit that I don't always read blurbs. Sometimes a title, cover, or author name is all I need. In this case it was all three. Imagine my surprise when I expected a smutty holiday romance with a submissive Ms. Krampus and her human Dom and I found murderous elf assassins. Don't get me wrong, this is spicy and delicious, I absolutely found the monster romance holiday romcom I was looking for, but I found so much more! Tied to Ms. Krampus is Die Hard meets The Santa Claus in the absolute best way, an instant holiday classic that I'll be thinking about rereading for many holiday seasons to come.

This story is great fun to read. The story is festive fun from start to finish. I love the mix of fantasy, myth, legend and realism. They work together to make a story which captivates readers and captures a Christmas spirit at the same time.
It is filled with action, adventure and some steamy scenes that add a touch of spice to the naughty and nice dynamics of the book. I like the elements of grey that are shown throughout the story that make the readers think about looking at events or actions in black and white.
I’m already looking forward to reading more by this author in the future.

I adore all of Marilyn Barr’s monster romances and am so excited every time I hear she’s releasing a new one. I loved Liselotte and Gerhard and the world of Krampuses and elves! Marilyn Barr does such a fun job with her world building in every book and I’m always excited to see what zany amazin things she’ll come up with, and found this so much fun as I was listening to the world of the Krampuses, their culture and traditions, and what these two crazy kids would have to do in order to be together. I loved how wonderfully spicy this was, loved the fun Christmasy vibe and loved the twists! An absolute delight! 5/5 stars.

Fun holiday read

This was a fun read! Liselotte has finally decided to break the boundaries she has had in place for years. A dance of flirtatious banter, complete with peppermint coffee, whisky and cards. The heat between her and Gerhard is fun to watch unfold through the pages of the spicy Christmas short. Laugh out loud moments kept me up to finish before closing my kindle for the night. Will definitely re-read before the years end!.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It’s got out all the features love from slightly scary things like a Christmas tree trying to eat you lots of sugar sweet I would’ve never thought that Santa could be a psycho, but I really really love this book. I can’t wait to see if there’s more like this one because I will be reading them while buying them and reading them. This just became one of my favorite books.

This book is part of the Monster Brides Romances. This is a fun romance between a female Krampus and a human P.E. teacher. Great characters that you fall in love with. I really liked how the author built up the relationship between the two main characters. I was rooting for their happy ending through the whole book. loved it !! just love Liselotte and Gehard... this is their story... a fast paced rom/com drama... Ms. Krampus indeed... twelve years , she's waited and now, it's here...she has to go to the Krampus village and retire and make babies.. but, she doesn't want a male Krampus oh, no... she already picked Gehard the human... and she's friends with him... so refreshing... so good !!!.

Christmas Lore with an Adult Twist

Lisolette is a Krampus - every year, she would visit Gerhard’s naughty son to punish him, but it’s Gerhard’s company she craves. One Christmas, she requests that Gerhard come back with her… and everything changes. I loved the allusions to Die Hard in this story (the ultimate Christmas movie!) and the scenes between Gerhard and Lisolette were both naughty and nice! A great festive read.

Another fabulous story. Christmas with a twist. Not many stories feature a Krampus and this is a perfect blending of Santa and Krampus. A pleasure Dom and a willing sub, but a Krampus as the sub.
Really enjoyed the character dynamics. Readers should make sure to read the trigger warnings.

Quick read with more twists and turns than I expected.
I love the whole Santa and Krampus fight and how it's changing at the end of the book. I love Eugene, and I hope he gets his happy ever after because he deserves it after everything he did for these two... Even if I didn't like him because of her childhood.
