Single-handedly one of the most impactful parenting books of our generation.

The generation that raised us didn’t have all of the “noise” to parent against, and for that this resource is so impactful because it address the social issues we face raising our kids. There was a quote that really stuck with me “it takes courage to reevaluate your parenting” if we continue being not as mindful, our children suffer. I took away SO much from this book and am excited to challenge myself to “parent more mindfully” with the information and tools in this book.

If I had to recommend any book for parents it would be this and the Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt. Both hit the nail on the head on the issues we face as parents today and how to give our children the independence to grow into sound humans.

Free to Fly by Nicole Runyon is a solid, thought-provoking read that every parent should take in. It’s a timely reminder that technology isn’t something to invite into our children’s lives without careful thought and intention.

One of the themes that stood out to me most was the idea that parents must first learn to handle our own big feelings so that we can be strong, grounded leaders for our families. We can’t guide our children well if we haven’t done the inner work ourselves — and this book delivers that truth with honesty and urgency.

I appreciated Runyon’s direct approach and the way she doesn’t shy away from hard conversations. The message feels urgent because it is urgent — our kids need us to wake up, reconnect, and lead with wisdom and presence.

Nicole finds a way to be direct to parents without shaming them. Practical and well written. Great resource for today’s parents.

really excellent read. I'm glad I was able to get my hands on it while my daughter is still a toddler.
