One event can force you to face your demons. Demons that I shoved away when the prospect of grief was too much to bear. I thought getting over the loss would help my marriage. I was wrong. My focus was always on Luka. Now, I need to put myself first because if we’re both broken, what chance does our relationship have? Separating isn’t something I want, but things need to change.
Luka Tomic One moment can change the course of your life. A Formula 1 crash and burn—literally— was that moment for me. It cost me my career, the only thing I’m good at. And now, it’s on the verge of costing me my wife. But I’ll do anything to win her back because she’s the only thing keeping air in my lungs and my heart beating.
Fuse contains sensitive topics, please read the full content warning before reading. This book chemical pregnancy, pregnancy after miscarriage, alcoholism, addiction, detoxing from alcohol.
Once in a while a book can hit you out is nowhere, suck you in completely and capture your heart; Fuse was exactly that for me. It navigated trauma authentically and didn’t shy away from the difficult details or conversations.
Luka and Daisy captured my heart! From the struggles, to setting boundaries and growing as individuals and a couple; they definitely put in the work. It was refreshing to see the honesty and the details of the work they needed to do.
This was way more than a romance story with spicy scene. They had scorching hot chemistry and it added to the story but also without overtaking the plot. The intensity, the dedication , the authenticity, made this a 5 star read for me. Nothing was off limits and you could feel how much emotion the author poured into this story.
I absolutely 10/10 recommend this book! *Definitely check the triggers as it covers hard topics.
I would like to thank Samantha M. Thomas and Give Me Books Promotion for the opportunity to read and review Fuse.
Tropes: 🏎️ F1 romance 🌼 Marriage in trouble 🏎️ Trauma 🌼 Mental health rep 🏎️ Overcoming trauma
Fuse is book 2 in the Qualifiers of Love series by Samantha M. Thomas. This book had me in a chokehold from the minute I started reading it until the end. My emotions were all over the place while reading this book. I wanted to laugh, cry, yell, scream along with Luka and Daisy. I could feel Luka’s struggles, Daisy’s struggles, and their struggles as a couple. The emotions were raw and real and it made it that much better.
It starts with Luka crashing his F1 car during a race and then having to go through multple surgeries and PT while trying to save his marriage and be a better husband to Daisy. Daisy is so strong and supportive but even she knows when she needs to back off and focus on herself. Watching them struggle through all their problems was heartbreaking. Seeing both of them suffering and trying to heal made me want to go through the pages and give them hugs.
This book will rip your heart out, tear your emotions apart just to put them back together. Daisy and Luka worked together and separately to overcome past traumas and issues they never resolved. They both had to find themselves alone, find that person they used to be, before they could truly come together and heal together and move past everything.
Samantha did a fantastic job with all the tough subject areas in her book. She didn’t rush anything, the entire book spans over a year from the time of the crash to the ending. We got to see the good, the bad, and the ugly of Luka and Daisy healing from their traumas, we see them fall down but get back up even more determined. Everything is so real and raw in this story which helps this book stand out from the others.
I highly recommend this book but please check trigger warnings: *chemical pregnancy (mentioned on page) *pregnancy after miscarriage *alcoholism *addiction *detoxing from alcohol
Downloaded this book on a whim from KU from literally one quote on a reel and I don’t regret a single thing. Daisy and Luka go THROUGH IT. Their HEA was well earned and deserved!
ARC Review ✨ First I would like to say a big thank you to Samantha Thomas for letting me be apart of this ARC Team! Rate: 4.5/5⭐️ Spice: 1.5/5🌶️
What to expect when reading Fuse; -Formula 1 -Marriage in trouble -Trauma -Mental Health Rep
I wasn’t sure what I expected going into this book, but I will save what I read, wasn’t it but in a good way. This book definitely tucked at my heart strings and almost gives you a new outlook on relationships.
Luka & Daisy can’t catch a break. After they got married, it felt like one thing after another was falling apart. So what are you doing to make sure you don’t use the one you love? Their journey definitely took me on an emotional roller coaster. I didn’t enjoy this book because it was a different take on Formula One that we normally get. I feel like everybody in a relationship or marriage. Should read this book. There’s always light at the end of the tunnel, even when you don’t think there is. This was a truly beautiful book.
Side notes: -when you cry by chapter 3🥺 -good boy -baths 🥰
Fav Quote: ”I thought you gave up on me” & “Beat thing I did was marry you”
Make sure you get the book when it releases March 6th🩵 #bookstagram #romance #review
I truly don't even know where to start with the emotional rollercoaster that is this book. Luka is in a tragic racing accident in the previous book, after having a really rough start to the new racing season. Luka is headstrong and cocky and also has a huge secret. The healing and growth between these two is nothing short of perfection. As always Samantha has a way of not only making you feel like you are experiencing the struggles with these characters but writing in a realistic and logical way. The struggles that Luka and Daisy face truly broke my heart. The lessons that they learn in handling the trauma of Luka's accident and learning to depend on each other. The true and realistic friendships that these characters have. Beckett is the greatest kind of friend to Luka. Daisy, Beckett, and Sydney stand behind Luka and let him fail and succeed. But never is he alone in his journey. Daisy and Luka broke and healed my heart. But this book is an amazing representation of finding your people. I cannot say enough about how well this book is written, how well Samantha portrayed everything her characters went through. 10/10 will read again. I cant wait to see what else she has coming in the Qualifiers of Love Series.
This book will hit you deep in your feels. The emotions that I felt were so intense at times.
We met Daisy and Luka in book 1 ‘Serendipity’ and I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen for their story especially with some of the events that occurred.
The love Daisy and Luka shares is intense, consuming and next level. Which means when something derails them they spiral in a way that has them having to fight and put in the work in order to keep their marriage.
Luka’s accident affects him in such a major way that it has him pulling back even more than he was before which drives the wedge between him and daisy even more.
Seeing how hard both Luka and Daisy work on themselves in order to be the best version for each other is truly astounding. They accepts those deep moments that they’ve been hiding from as well as understand why they feel the way they feel and put in the effort.
Luka has to deal with the consequences of his actions that sees Daisy hurt in ways she never wanted to be hurt and he has to work even harder than he did before and harder than he did in PT.
What an emotional read! This is book two in the Qualifiers of Love series, and what a ride it is!
Luka, a cocky and famous Formula 1 racer, is already in a rocky marriage with Daisy when a career-ending accident changes everything. The crash leaves him with severe burns on his hands and forearms, adding another layer of struggle to an already fragile relationship. The couple was still trying to move past an unresolved loss, but this tragedy pushes Daisy to finally put herself first.
The story follows both Luka and Daisy as they navigate the aftermath—his recovery, their time apart, and the weight of Luka’s many secrets, which only strain their relationship further. The book has its dark moments and pulls at your heart more than once, but the author takes you there for a reason—to truly show how devastating life can be. After all the drama, the ending feels well-earned.
I didn’t read book one, so Sydney and Beck were new to me, but their friendship was a strong and supportive presence. Now, I have to go back and read the first book, and I can’t wait to see what’s next in the series!
Fuse is the second book in the Qualifiers Of Love series. This immediately had me hooked as soon as I started it!! Samantha Thomas does an amazing job of creating another in this series! I am very excited for more to come from her!!
Daisy and Luka Tomic got married an things soon started to fall apart. The final straw was when Luka got into a crash while driving in a formula 1 race. With there marriage on the rocks, they can't seem to catch a break. Things are now teetering on the edge Luka doesn't have a choice if he wants to be with his wife. He makes the right one and is as determined as ever to keep Daisy with him. They now both have to make that effort and meet in the middle to make it work this time.
This book had my emotions all over the place.. I could feel Luka's struggle, Daisy's struggle...and their struggle as a couple. The book starts with Luka having a life changing situation that will leave him doubting his worth and relying more on things that are not good for him. Daisy has been by his side all this time but feels like she's losing herself in the process. This book tore my emotions apart and glued them back together. I loved this story, how they fought for one another to be able to make their relationship work rather than giving up. This is my first book by this author and definitely won't be my last! I loved this story! If you're looking for a good shake of emotions but still manage to give you that happy ending, then definitely read this! 💕
Fist, I'd like to thank Samantha M. Thomas and Give Me Books Promotion for the opportunity to read and review Fuse.
I went into this blind, not knowing what the book was about. Just that one of my favorite authors recommended her book to ARC and I jumped on it.
I instantly was hooked. I couldn't put this book down. Maybe it was the well written storyline and character development. Maybe it was what the characters go through that hit me to the core. Maybe it is the way the story reads like my life with my husband (minus the alcohol). Whatever the reason, I am smitten with this book and now looking forward to reading some of Samantha's other books!
I’ve sat with my feelings for a few days since reading this book.
Yes, this was a second chance marriage in trouble but the emotional, mental, and physical journey these two went on was so much more than a just second chance together but a second chance for themselves.
Let’s talk about Daisy’s trauma. The way that Samantha handled the emotional aspects was SPOT FUCKING ON. The guilt, the blame, the absolute shock, the emptiness, the happiness then nothingness were done so fucking well and well thought out (which i feel definitely comes from experience and my heart goes out to her even if it was a long time ago). I’ve felt those things, I’ve been experienced that trauma and i felt exactly like Daisy.
Now let’s talk Luka — holy hell this man. This man PUT IN THE EFFORT. He made mistakes, he owned up to those mistakes and tried to be a better man. He admitted his shortcomings and DID SOMETHING ABOUT THEM! YES SUCH A GOOD BOY. 👏🏼
Their connection was beautiful and how they never waivered in their love — they didn’t give up and i loved to read it about it.
Also, the way that he handled his trauma was awesome. How he through himself into something similar to help the sport was amazing.
This book was emotional and still had fun sexy moments. So so good.
Fuse is Luka and Daisy's marriage in trouble story. We meet them in book one and their relationship seems so easy going and carefree. We learn that both have been battling some things. We feel everything they are going through. Luka is tragically injured in his accident and it just adds to his wavering mental health. So much so, Daisy needs a break. They both work in themselves to be better for themselves and each other. Everything looks great for them until Luka has a major anxiety attack and relapses. Will this be his wake up call? Will he and Daisy find themselves again?
This is the second book in this impressive series and this is Daisy and Luka’s journey. These two are broken souls, and their marriage is in trouble, so Daisy makes a choice that she does not want to do in order to heal herself first before others. This is a well written emotional roller coaster, family, friendships, loss, grief, overcoming trauma, addiction, challenges, humor, healing, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and touching F1 romance. I look forward to reading more from this author whose work I recommend.
I know a book deserves 5 stars when I'm in the author's PMs from the third chapter. Seriously, this book destroyed me, changed me and transformed me before healing me in the most beautiful way. It deals with many sensitive themes like miscarriage, PTSD or addiction. This book touched me with its authenticity and uniqueness. Daisy and Luka are characters that we can easily identify with and with whom we experience their setbacks and their victories. Thank you for this book Samantha M. Thomas.
ARC review! Book 2 in the Qualifiers of Love series by Samantha M. Thomas!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️
This book has completely captivated me!! I couldn’t put it down. Luka and Daisy fell in love at first site during Lukas peak formula 1 racing career. They got married fast and everything was amazing until it wasn’t. After some heartbreaking news, Luka shut down and started drinking and Daisy tried to move on like she was ok, bottling all of her hurt and anger up. Their marriage was already on the rocks when Luka gets into a serious accident. Daisy really tries to be there but Luka completely shuts down and tries pushing everyone away. This book is about overcoming trauma, addiction and heartache! Seeing Luka and Daisy struggle was completely heartbreaking but seeing them overcome everything together was absolutely beautiful! I would definitely check trigger warnings before reading but trust me this book is 100% worth the read! Definitely a top favorite of mine!
Daisy and Luka are officially my favorite characters of Samantha’s! They definitely go through it in this book but it was so worth it. The way they fought for their marriage, learned to communicate, and grew as their own person but as a couple as well was so amazing!
I absolutely loved this book. It was emotional. I really enjoyed reading Luka and Daisy's story. They both went through struggles separately and together. There are trigger warnings so make sure to check them.
This was my first read from this author and it will not be the last. The story pulled me in from the start. I really enjoyed the storyline, the characters.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Fuse is book 2 in Samantha's Qualifiers of Love series and it's a tear jerker.
Luca and Daisy marry in book 1 but we get a look into their marriage here in book 2.
It starts with Luca having a devastating accident during a race that puts his life and career in jeopardy. But that's not the only challenge that our lovers face. They've been drifting apart for months and the crash forces them to evaluate everything - including their marriage.
Samantha tackles some heavy topics (check the trigger warnings before reading!) and does so with extraordinary care. There are no short cuts. No magic tricks. No epiphany that sets the couple on the right path. Rather they put in the work to save themselves, their marriage, and each other.
4.5🌟 2🌶️ (be forewarned, I’ve been told I’m awful at rating spicy-ness 🤣)
I really enjoyed Luka and Daisy’s story. You get to see them as a side character in Serendipity and in Fuse you get to see how life really is without all the glitz and glam.
Some might say this is a second chance romance, but I would also consider it a coming of age and learning more about each other as well. Daisy and Luka get married quickly within the background of book 1, and now they have to deal with real adult problems.
Thanks to Give Me Book Promotions and Samantha M Thomas for the eARC! Review is fully my own and not swayed by receiving a free copy.
Daisy and Luka are going through it in this book! There are moments where you want to cheer excitedly, but then you want to throw the book/Kindle across the room and cry for a little bit. There are so many good things about this story that you really need to read it all for yourself. There is spice and everything that will make you cry all sorts of tears. I loved the ending, though - it gives so much hope. ⭐️F1 romance ⭐️Marriage in trouble ⭐️Overcoming trauma ⭐️Mental health rep I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review. Thank you!
