Justice Brothers #2

Fixing Justice

Rate this book
Sometimes the last thing you need is exactly what you get…
He’s the sexy 007 type complete with tuxedo and an icy blue stare.
She’s a tom-boy waif who’s more nerd than goddess.

When Tori Bennett ends up at the Justice Brothers compound in the Arizona desert, she’s running away from an epic scandal with her in the starring role as whistleblower. She’d had enough of powerful, arrogant men, and just wanted to fly off the radar for a while and get her confidence back.

Draegyn St. John was all that and then some…and he knew it. As if being a trust-fund kid with the blonde good looks of a Nordic god wasn’t enough, he was also a Special Forces Vet with a serious attitude. Women fell at his feet. It wasn’t even a challenge. Until Victoria Bennett comes along and rocks his high and mighty world in a very big way.

Sparks fly each time they meet. When an agency crisis throws them together on an out-of-town trip, their business relationship becomes personal in a hurry. For Drae, it’s an itch he needs to scratch and for Tori, it’s a flat out case of lust. No harm, no foul, right?

Find out what happens when her smart mouth and refusal to take anybody’s crap meets his powerful arrogance. When what happened in Vegas, didn’t stay in Vegas, everyone is in for one shock after another!

DNF at 33%. Way too much internal dialogue and on top of that it was her internal dialogue of how hot he was. I get it already!

Last night I finished Fixing Justice by Suzanne Halliday. If you like Alpha males then you've got the right book!

The story is about Draegyn and Victoria. He has grown up in a reality where love doesn't exist and she has been screwed over in the past.

She is hiding from the world and determined not to get involved and taken for a ride again.

He is determined to never move past 'sex only'.

From the moment they meet there is desire and raw sexual energy, neither of them can deny it. With that also comes fiery tempers and lots of shouting. Still they're are both trying to convince themselves (and others) that there is nothing else developing between them.

'The hard-bodied, sexy secret agent might be making her panties damp, but he was not to be taken seriously.'

They make each other feel things that they were convinced wasn't possible.

'A curtain opened inside his walled-off heart exposing a place waiting to be filled'

Then it gets interesting!

This is an alpha book with a smidgen of mills and boon wording thrown in to compliment the rough!

This is the second book in this series although (the first being Broken Justice) it can be read as a standalone, just like I read it! I have to revisit and read the first book when I get the chance!

3.25 Stars. This time it’s the sexy, wealthy, 007 Justice Brother, Draegyn St. John that takes the leading role. He isn’t haunted by his days as a soldier, but instead his hang-ups come from his parent’s loveless marriage. He is a ladies man with no intention of ever setting down. He dates models and starlets, so no one is more shocked then him when he finds himself attracted to the spitfire Victoria. Victoria is more tomboy than glamorous. She is the intellectual type with big brown glasses. You think a woman this smart wouldn’t fall for a womanizer like Drae. Their relationship is all about the sex and it’s hot and often. It’s hard to find any other connection between these two, as their conversations, or should I say arguments, are stopped by hot, sexual kisses.
This book copies the first book so much, that one sexual scene that explores the inexperience girl taking charge, is exactly like an encounter between Cameron and Lacey. The ending follows the same path as Book 1. I really want to read Alex’s story, but I sure hope the author takes a different approach.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, secrets, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Broken Justice (Justice Brothers #1)

This is Tori and Draegyn’s story. Tori is running. Draegyn is the total package but he knows it. When these two have to work together sparks will fly. What happens when you agree to have a little fun while work? Will a little fun turn into more or even a future?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

A second re-read of a series that has completely captured me from the day I discovered the first book.

Draeygn St John he along with his Justice Brothers run an exclusive security agency in the Arizona desert. Three completely different men, different backgrounds but bonded by a warzone a lifetime away.

When he meet's Victoria Bennent it's an explosive and firey start to say the least. She is not impressed with his arrogance or his movie star looks.

Victoria is working for Alex, the head of the Justice agency having arrived after a media storm and tabloid fodder. She'd been working in the financial district in London. But after uncovering the shady dealings her boyfriend and his cronies has been up to she blew the whistle and exposed them. But the fallout fell onto her. Battered and her confidence on shaky ground she fled back to the US and with the help of her mother she found sanctuary at the Villa.

The chemistry between Drae and Tori is smouldering. They can't be in the same room without going for each others throats, petty and snarky comments is really the only thing holding these two back from ripping each others clothes and just succumbing to the desire that is slowly building between them.

But when Tori and Drae have to leave together for Vegas on agency business it all comes to a head spectacularly! It's hot and flat out sexy. But when there drunken night leaves them married, it blows up big time. Drae in all his arrogance pretty much puts out any flames that may still be lingering.

It's only when they are back home and trying to sort out the mess that was Vegas another surprise hits them. What happens in Vegas does not always stay in Vegas. He's going to need the help of his Justice Brothers to get him out of the mess he made with his relationship with Victoria.

Another compelling read. Could not put down. Sexy, snarky and a must read.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book. I loved Draegyn and Tori. They were perfect for each other. I hated Draegyn’s insecurities. I think he got exactly what he deserved with his reactions to Vegas, although I probably would have smacked him upside the head a few times. I smiled every time they got distracted while trying to have a discussion. I was so glad Tori didn’t bow down to Draegyn and his wishes. I found her to be a very strong and admirable heroine. She was willing to deal with the consequences without blaming everyone else. I loved when she decided to take matters into her own hands and not rely on Draegyn to deal with the events of Vegas. I was so glad when Draegyn finally came to his senses and decided not to let his preconceived notions of love stand in the way of his happiness. Overall, I totally loved this book and have a new author to add to my must read list.

Oh dear. Can two people ever be better made for each other? Drae and Tori are in constant foreplay from the moment their eyes meet. After is just one explosion after another. Each have the fight or flight gene that fuels their first experience at a relationship but in the end, they're perfectly a mess together. I truly love this couple!!
I cannot wait to read about Alex and what his journey will tell about the man behind the computer and tech gadgets.
Once again, hot and scintillating words that accurately detail emotion, need and desire. Such a great series-if only I could find my own Justice brother ;)

THIS IS A REVIEW FROM THE BOX SET.

Suzanne Halliday was brand spanking new to me when I met her in ARR's BOOM world. I enjoyed her so much in there that I knew I had to hit up her backlist and fast. Well lucky me y'all she had a new set outand I totally jumped on it! Suzanne wowed and amazed me in a whole lot of ways with this sexy, suspenseful series.

The Justice Brothers box set was really, really good... three standalone full length books packed with a whole lot of intensity, steam, action, twists, heat, heart, unexpected emotions, and irresistible alphas. Each book was written in third person (not a huge fan of this but she worked it.) / dual point of view in each book.

Broken Justice was the first up with Lacey and Cameron's story and THIS one might just be my top favorite. These two.... gah they made my heart bleed but it was so so worth it. Fixing Justice was the second with Tori and Draegyn's story and these two are never going to be the same after these opposites cross paths in a story that'll leave you breathless. Redeeming Justice rounds it all out as the third with Meghan and Alex's story and these two had me rooting so hard for them from the sidelines the entire emotional journey.

All three books in this box set were unforgettable, unputdownable, and unstoppable in every way. Suzanne has created stories that'll touch your heart yet also having you grabbing a fan to cool off.

I highly recommend this set.

Draegyn St John otherwise known as Mr Double O Trouble is a love 'em and leave 'em sorta guy. Suave, wears a tuxedo like he was born in it, debonair, rich, moves easily in the entitled world of the wealthy and elite. But underneath he's damaged by not only his callous parents but the rigors and brutality of war. Victoria Bennett was the brainiac kid in school and a favorite target for bullies. She learned to not only stand up for herself but she can shred you with her verbal barbs. Being used by her fiance, the Earl, until she catches on, then vilified by the British gossip rags, she slinks back to the US to regroup and lick her wounds. Hired as Alex Marquez's assistant she does her best to move in the shadows and fade into the bacground. Finding herself on Drae's radar is not where she wants to be. Thus begins their love/hate relationship that plays out in constant bickering, verbal jabs and sparring. Drae finds himself in uncharted territory when he can't the brown eyed beauty off his mind. That's not who he is. Thrown together on a work assignment in Vegas, they more or less call a truce. But things happen and as you well know "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" doesn't always hold true. Now the piper must be paid but is the price too high or better yet are they both willing to pay it?

A quick romance full of angst and heat. He doesn’t want a relationship and she doesn’t believe someone that hot could be attracted to her. Both are skittish and react with anger. There is wit and emotion and sarcasm throughout. Alex plays the big brother and father figure perfectly and this compound sounds amazing as a business location.

I thought Tori was a great female lead and quite strong in her personality. Drae lived up to the a**hole reputation. His background was not ideal but did not really seem to justify his behavior to her over the surprises and changes in their dynamic

Second book in the series and it can be read as a stand-alone, but I did enjoy seeing Alex develop more, understand the company more and see how Cam and Lacey were doing, so I would recommend reading the series in order.

This was in the “Recommended for You” under Military Romance. I had the impression these guys owned a Security firm or the like and there would be some action/adventure/suspense. Besides a prologue explaining how they used to serve together and a sentence here or there referring to “going on an assignment”, there’s no Military/SpecOps/etc to be seen. It was an OK story if you’re looking for a sex to Military suspense ratio of 9 to 1. That just wasn’t what I thought I was signing on for.

Painful

I've only read two other books by this author, and they did not prepare me for this train wreck. While this is like those in being wildly improbable in how feelings escalate with speed, this one was a horrible rollercoaster. What Drae puts Tori through in this book is so NOT what I look for in my reading. I liked the humor enough to put up with my inability to completely suspend my disbelief up til now, but this book stopped me cold. I won't be reading more

Looked forward to this book. Loved the first one. This one I had high hopes for. But it so let me down. The first 1/3 of the book was fun, steamy, entertaining. The rest uh. All sex, no talking, except yelling and insulting, then we are supposed think they belong together? I just couldn’t. I ended up skimming to the end.

A good read!

Was curious about Drae and was pleased he had a little spit fire show him how being loved could be so much more than he ever imagined. A lot of angst, tension, fly by the seat of your pants shouting and some very hot scenes to keep you reading well into the night!

Read in the box set.
O/W drama and a narcissist spoilt hero.
Very similar to book one with a brooding jerk hero.
At least Victoria had the sense to serve him divorce papers and leave but caves as soon as he turns up.

~this review may contain minor spoilers~

His world had become overrun with a series of firsts and an unending parade of uncharacteristic behavior since the moment Victoria had wandered into his life.

I am not a fan of insta-love....you will not find that here! Unless of course we're talking about me & this author-then yeah, definite insta-love goin on. This book friggin ROCKED-from top to bottom I loved it, even as I hated it at times Lol. It was hott as hell, frustrating as shit, loaded with drama and damn impossible to put down. The characters are addicting, the flow was steady and the chemistry was intense. I did not read the first book in the series before I read this one but will most definitely be one-clicking it in the very near future.

Nothing she'd experienced in her pitiful, lackluster sexual history had even come close to what Draegyn St. John made her feel. She. Was. An idiot. A desperate idiot if her response was any indication. He was probably laughing at her right this very minute.

The Justice brothers -Alex, Drae, & Cam- met and formed their bond while at war as members of the special forces. Now out of the service, they have formed their own very successful security business run out of Arizona. Draegyn St. John is the brother with a never ending line of women leading to his bed and a serious attitude. Relationships are not in his arsenal and he has never met a woman who has been able to resist him....until he meets Alex's new assistant, Victoria Bennett. More tom-boy than vixen with an attitude to rival Drae's, Tori is hiding out after a scandal blew up in her face less than a year ago. Sparks fly and these two instantly clash, the chemistry is insane and they can't be in a room together for longer than five minutes without a fight ensuing. But when forced to leave town to work on a job together, the gloves have to come off and the results are more than a little surprising. But when what happens in Vegas follows them home, everyone is affected and Draegyn has a decision to make if he doesn't want to lose Tori from his life completely. Can the man who has a violent reaction to just the word love or marriage learn to let someone in before it's too late?

Apparently, not being each other's type hadn't stopped nature from staking it's claim on the situation. The intoxicating balls-out lust that drove them into each other's embrace was stronger than anything she'd ever felt before.

This book and these characters had my attention right from the very beginning. The chemistry between Tori & Drae was explosive, and it almost always got in the way of their problems. Communication was often overlooked and Drae pissed me off as easily and as often as he turned me on. IMHO Tori put up with way to much of his shit before the hands went up, most women would have walked away long before she did and I also think she was owed way more groveling than she got. But the book still worked for me in a big way. I do long me some angst and drama mixed in with my smokin hott sex scenes and Ms. Halliday sure delivered. I cannot wait to read the first book and than I will anxiously be waiting for Alex's story next, Big Daddy wormed his way into my heart and he deserves some lovin.

Nothing seemed to matter more than losing himself inside her. Somehow, Victoria Bennett had become his salvation from a life lived without texture, empty of anything more than superficial awareness.
