"One of the most powerful audiobooks I have ever produced." (Elliott Frisby, audiobook producer and Director at Monkeynut Audiobooks)

In the 1970s, the Khmer Rouge swept through Cambodia with brutal force—turning the nation into a vast death camp. Over one and a half million people were killed in one of the twentieth century’s worst genocides. Among the persecuted was a young and growing church, whose members faced not only suffering and death, but profound tests of faith.

Ten Stories from the Killing Fields shares ten extraordinary, true accounts of Cambodian believers who lived—and died—through this horror. These deeply moving stories reveal the courage, endurance, and unwavering faith of ordinary Christians in the face of unspeakable evil.

Drawn from the award-winning Killing Fields, Living Fields, this audiobook brings the listener close to the real people behind the history—told with compassion, respect, and spiritual insight by missionary Don Cormack, who lived and worked among them. Fluent in the Cambodian language and deeply connected to the people, Cormack gives voice to those who could not tell their stories themselves.

Listeners often come away with a renewed appreciation of their own faith and life—challenged and inspired by what it means to follow Christ when the cost is everything.

Ten unforgettable real-life testimonies Insight into the origins of the Cambodian church A powerful reminder of God’s presence in the darkest times Ten Stories from the Killing Fields is a sobering, hope-filled audiobook that will stay with you long after the final word.

I assume it’s because these are just tiny excerpts, but most of the stories, left me wanting more details. If you just want a bit of information and to see God’s hand this is a great book, but if you like more complete and flushed out stories I’m guessing getting Killing Fields, Living Fields is the way to go. That said, I knew basically nothing about Pol Pot, the Khmer Rouge, or the Killing Fields and I’ve definitely learned more about those things and about how God was working in the midst of the horror.

You will face hard questions. You will read of Hope. That hope will seem unreasonable, unless the Jesus story is true.
