ABIGAIL-ANN ASHER
New York City was supposed to be my fresh start, a chance to leave behind the ghosts of San Francisco and the insecurities that refuse to let me go. I came here to rebuild myself, to prove that I am more than my past.

Then I meet him.

Mikkel Suarez is powerful, magnetic, and heartbreakingly handsome. He’s everything I should avoid—yet every time he looks at me, my walls begin to crack. He makes me want to believe in something I swore I’d given up on. Love. The kind that consumes you. But trusting him feels like a risk I can’t afford.

Because if I fall, I might not survive the landing.

MIKKEL SUAREZ

My life is built on control. Everything in its place. I never questioned what I wanted—until I saw her.

Abigail is a contradiction—strong yet guarded, confident yet wounded—and I can’t stay away. She doesn’t see what I do—her brilliance, her strength, the way she lights up a room. I want to be the man who proves she’s worthy of love.

But she’s not the only one afraid. There are parts of me I never let anyone see… but with her, I want to.

I just have to convince her to stay before she decides she’s better off alone. Because losing her? That’s not an option.

Before Dawn by Jada West
5/5⭐
2/5🌶️

This was my first read from this author, and I loved the storyline! It had me swooning, crying, laughing, and even blushing at times. The mental health rep was so vivid, and I appreciated the thoughtful way the author tackled the subject matter. The relationship between the main characters is a slow burn, which fits perfectly with the plot. Their journey is filled with ups and downs, and that’s what makes it special. Although the book is quite long at over 600 pages, I was hooked from start to finish!

Abigail has spent years in an abusive relationship where her ex constantly belittles her and makes her feel insecure, not to mention he cheated on her multiple times. After some soul-searching, she finally decides to move to New York, where she meets Mikkel. There’s an instant attraction between them, but Abigail knows she needs to tie up loose ends with her ex before fully diving into something new. Mikkel, a successful businessman, becomes captivated by Abigail. He can’t help but think about her all the time and wants to be close to her.

My heart broke for all that Abigail went through. She deals with severe anxiety and struggles with her insecurities. I felt her pain and just wanted to wrap her in a big hug! I was so proud when she finally stood up for herself and decided to leave her past behind to start anew in New York. The spark she feels with Mikkel is immediate, but given her past experiences, she takes things slow, which I understand. My heart soared every time Mikkel did something to make her happy. She truly deserves someone who puts her first and understands her needs.

Mikkel is honestly the perfect book boyfriend! I couldn’t find a single fault in him. From the beginning, he’s smitten with Abigail, and I love how he makes her feel special. He always tells her how beautiful she is and reminds her that she’s perfect just the way she is. When she struggles with her anxieties, he’s patient and makes sure to be there for her without pushing. The thoughtful things he does for her are just swoon-worthy! He knows how to make her feel worthy, understood, and appreciated. He has secured a spot on my list of top book boyfriends!

Their relationship unfolds beautifully and naturally. I loved how they gradually became comfortable with one another, opening up about their struggles and working through them together. They heal each other, which is such a beautiful and heartwarming journey to witness. I also loved their friendships and how supportive their families are of their relationship. The interactions between everyone were truly heartwarming!

I am very appreciative of Jada West and their team for the opportunity to read an e-ARC of Before Dawn!

Before Dawn unfortunately didn’t live up to my expectations. While I liked the cute quotes at the beginning of each chapter, they eventually became repetitive, losing their charm as the book progressed.

Mikkel is definitely the kind of fictional man I wish existed! His gestures toward Abigail—both grand and small—are sweet and show a deep care for her.

It felt like this story could’ve been condensed to about a quarter of its length. While I don’t mind insta-love in stories, the rest of the book seemed to lack purpose, with much of the plot feeling redundant.

A lot of situations in the story were blown out of proportion, making the characters’ reactions feel immature. I found myself losing interest, especially when the focus shifted to business talk, which didn’t seem to add much to the overall narrative. It felt like the same events were happening in each chapter, with little development taking place.

I did, however, appreciate the mental health representation, particularly with Mikkel’s willingness to work on his personal growth and help Abigail better herself. Abigail’s struggles with insecurity were also well depicted, but it’s clear that her lack of self-confidence bleeds into her relationship, creating unnecessary tension.

originally i soft dnf’ed this book because the pacing was too slow!

things i did enjoy:

-black x latino rep
- endometriosis and anxiety rep
- loving you is as easy as breathing trope

what i didn’t enjoy:

this book was too cookie cutter, it was as if the author read every single trope/good mmc traits and then added them to this book. as well as the scenes like idgaf about his business and why is there so many characters that don’t add to the story.

also it was insanely long for it to be instalove?

was it terrible? not really. but it wasn’t enjoyable and that’s the problem. 50% of this book needs to be deleted, the relationship formed too quickly for any of the scenes to matter.

Thank you to the author for allowing me to read an ARC of this book💕

First of all, I have to say I didn’t read the previous book in this Timeless Love universe (but I’ll for sure do it now!), and so I didn’t have any knowledge of the characters and stories. But this didn’t impact my reading experience at all, and I was perfectly able to follow along and understand the story, which means you shouldn’t stop yourself from reading this book if you haven’t read the first. Nonetheless, I would recommend reading “After Hours” before jumping into this book because the author has such a beautiful way with words and all her stories deserve to be read.

Having said that, let’s talk about this story. To put it simply, this book is a treasure and it should be treated as such. Jada has created flawed characters with big hearts, who’ve been through it but are still fighting for themselves. I literally couldn’t tell you of one character who I could not relate to in some way or another (with the obvious exception of Josh but he’s relegated to a mere shadow in Abigail’s incredibly bright light), and it was refreshing to read a story where the characters are regular people, struggling to stay afloat in a world that seems hellbent on consuming us.

📍This story takes place in New York, where Abigal is starting over, determined to leave behind the ghost of her past relationship, in order to become the woman she was meant to be.

✍️Told in two POVs, the author perfectly switches from her FMC to her MMC to give us the full picture if this story that starts as a love story, but it’s much more than that. The setting of the story lets the characters shine, and Jada has masterfully brought her characters to the spotlight, effortlessly crossing their paths in a way that didn’t seem forced, and respecting specially Abigail’s times as someone who’s recently broken up with a terrible person who made her life a nightmare. Mikkel and Abigal meet pretty early in the story, and they kinda hit it off right away, which might sound like insta-love but trust me it’s not, I would say it’s more of attraction than love, two hot strangers find each other and the hormones go crazy, and that infatuation slowly turns into love as Abigail and Mikkel get to know each other. The author also does an incredible job with the secondary characters, who are fully fleshed out despite not being in the spotlight of this story, and remain relevant to Abigail and Mikkel’s journey, with interactions that move the story forward even when they are not directly related to the main couple.

👥Abigail and Mikkel are the main characters and narrators of this story, and it’s safe to say I’m in love with them both, individually and as a couple. Abigail is my girl, she’s a diamond that’s been discarded for too many years by someone who was way too stupid to see her worth, and instead chose to belittle her to the point of making her almost lose herself entirely. The author presents a woman who wants to fight for herself, who has a heart of gold despite all of the pain she’s suffered, and seeing her go to therapy, study hard for her exams, being there for her loved ones, and slowly become the treasure she’s been since day one has been an absolute joy that has made tear up more than once. And Mikkel, oh boy, this man is unbelievable in the best way. The author has crafted the perfect boyfriend, because Mikkel is a rich, succesful businessman who can give his girlfriend everything she wants, but what makes him amazing is how deeply he cares about Abigail. He notices everything, he’s so determined to make Abigal happy that he’s ready to drop everything at the slightest hint of her being uncomfortable, and if we pair this with Abigail’s unwavering support for him, we get one of the purest, healthiest love stories I’ve ever had the pleasure to read.

🖇️I would absolutely recommend this story to anyone who’s ever felt like drowning, who’s had to put on a smile and keep moving forward despite feeling like life was trying its hardest to push them forward. This book is a shoutout to everyone who still has a heart of gold despite going through hell, and it’s a reminder that healthy relationships exist, not only with a significant other but also with our friends and family.

this book is everything and more. you are not prepared for this masterpiece. it sees right through your soul, breaks your heart and patches it up in the best way possible. abigail and mikkel makes you laugh, swoon, cry and love hard. the playlist and prologue just intrigues you and you know you are going to love it.

abigail is my favorite fmc ever because she is so relatable asf. i was crying for the things she was going through and nobody deserved happy ever after more than her. i loved how she never lost herself to her insecurities and made her way back to the light. her emotions were expressed so realistically and the way mental health was represented. it didn't fell just for the sake of mentioning and author did the best way at representing health and the things that came with it.

mikkel? what do i even say about this man? this man is a need atp. everytime he spoke, i wanted to highlight them. he is successful, kind, protective and knows what he wants. i loved his relationship with his family and the way he cared for his sister. also the way he loves his friends is goals. also the way he efforts he made to control his anger because he knew she had past with it? everything. their character development is best.

also their relationship made me cry and blush a huge amount. i was screaming through out the book, the unhealthy times i blushed is insane. they immediately hit it off since their first meet and couldn't stop thinking about eachother since their first meet. their conversations just went so natural and i loved the way their relationship progressed. it wasn't instant, instead it was steady, slowly revealing their layers and they really healed eachother. he remembered every single detail about her, made her feel seen and heard and there's nothing more beautiful than this. it wasn't always roses but i loved how they worked on the demons of their past and always found their way back to eachother. also the bucket list mention and how he went out of way to fulfill it. i know i would be writing a whole pages for how their relationship is goal but to keep it short, she thinks she is hard to love but he loves her as easy as breathing. and the mention of before dawn was so significant.

and reading about after hours couple really brought all the memories and their happy ever after is everything. their family dynamics and friendships are so beautiful and healthy. can't wait for more of their stories. you need to read before dawn for all the feels. it's a must read.

A HUGE THANKS TO THE AUTHOR FOR PROVIDING ME WITH ARC. you really did the bets job at portraying every emotions. pay for my therapy fast.

THIS BOOK IS EVERYTHING AND BEYOND 😭❤️ IT HAS LEFT SPEECHLESS!!! It hit home and healed a part of me that I didn’t know needed healing.❤️‍🩹 The storyline made me cry, giggle, blush and everything in between to see the characters grow and heal in the book itself made me so so happy. I knew their journey was going to be special from the moment I read the prologue of this book cause it just made be sob. The book was so so relatable throughout especially with the little quotes before the star of each chapter. The plot of the book was soo well written that it kept me hooked and I just continued reading it with a flow. I just love Mikkel my Hispanic man 🤭He was everything my girly Abigail needed and what I needed. This is what I call a MANNNNN. You Abigail honey will always be so close to my heart , we’re so similar to each other and the stuff you went through ? ARC review!!!

This book hit home for me. It made me feel so seen. As someone who struggles with anxiety and who is constantly overthinking literally everything, it was so nice to be able to relate to a character (Abigail). There are times I can’t even begin to describe to others how badly my anxiety/overthinking is, but this literally hit it on the nail. The mental health representation was done so freaking well.

Mikkel is an absolute king. Not only did this man make a playlist for her, have the absolute sweetest nicknames, but he was just so attentive to Abigail and her needs. He was so patient with her and constantly making her feel seen and heard while also working on his own shit.

I’m so obsessed with this book and these characters. I will for sure be going back and reading book one. I will for sure have this book as a trophy on my shelf and obviously re reading it as well because wow.

mikkel and abigail 😭💛

this is the second book where i have related/connected to both main characters and OH MY GOD.😭 this love story is definitely one of the most beautiful i have ever read.

mikkel is so down bad for abi (#feltthat) and i love it so much. the way he talks about her is so beautiful, everything he does for her at the drop of a hat, because nothing is more important, UGH. the perfect book boyfriend for real.

abigail struggles with anxiety and i have never seen it represented so well before. everything she went through and the ways she coped with it all was beautiful. the real struggles she went through are just another reason to love this book even more.

the realism, the writing, the LOVE that poured from this book was felt so deeply and i am endlessly proud of you, Jada.💛

It might be an unpopular opinion: Before Dawn was a good read, but it wasn’t extraordinary. I’m giving it 3 stars knowing that many people will rate it higher and I can completely see where they’re coming from, but hear me out. Before Dawn is not only slow burn in the spice department (which is fine!), but also just slowly paced overall as well. I just kept waiting for something exciting to happen. There was hardly any friction, obstacles, adversity (outside of struggling with insecurities and anxiety throughout). To that point, there are several triggers in this book, so be sure to check those. There were secondary warnings at the beginning of every chapter that covered any triggering material, which felt like overkill to me and really disrupted getting lost in the story for me. This book could’ve been half the size and you wouldn’t have really missed out on anything. Part 2 of the book felt like hundreds of pages of epilogue material (and believe me, I love a good epilogue) aside from one brief sequence of events.

Now, don’t get me wrong, Mikkel is SWEET, like go to the dentist because you’re going to get a cavity sweet. He is the single most most fictional MMC I have ever read, if you catch my drift. He has one single character flaw that only presents itself twice throughout the entire book. Aside from a brief period of time after a singular triggering incident, Mikkel and Abigail don’t disagree or argue, ever. Not once. Not saying I want to read about a toxic relationship, but some realistic elements would’ve been nice. I also found that their dialogue, specifically around their flirting, was egregiously repetitive.

All of that said, and maybe it doesn’t sound like it, but I did enjoy reading Before Dawn. I just prefer a little more grit, a little more drama in my romances. Mikkel and Abigail’s love story is heartwarming and romantic and gives you all the good and fluffy feels. If you want a very low-angst, comforting read that brings unwavering support, grand gestures, and some spice enhanced by a wicked, Latin mouth, I think you’ll really enjoy this one! Did I mention it has a billionaire MMC?!

Thank you Jada West for the ARC!

I really liked the mental health representation in this book, I think it truly is one of its strongest points. Abigail’s struggles and insecurities felt very real and relatable and I loved how supportive Mikkel was throughout it all. The fact that he was always learning and trying his best to be there for her.

The writing and pace in this book was better than in the first one. I did still struggle not to cringe during in the spicy scenes, though. Especially, when he would be dirty talking in Spanish and use words such as “coño” 😖

I also got a little bored halfway through since they got together way too early in the book and there was absolutely no conflict between them at all, which is just as annoying as when there’s conflict all the time over absolutely nothing (Dillon and Azzaria, hello)

HAPPY RELEASE DAYYYYY!! Miss Jada West has really done it this time!

I was so lucky to have the arc copy of this book and let me tell you was I giggling, kicking, and screaming like a little girl in my bed 🤭
it was lowkey embarrassing but that’s besides the point!! I very much appreciated the dicktionary at the beginning as a girly who prefers a clean romance! It took me a bit to get through just purely because of the length but I loved it nonetheless! <3

I feel like so many people will relate to Abigail’s character and feel seen by her! From her traumatic past to her anxiety and struggle with endometriosis, this girl is on struggle street. Mikkel is there with her through it ALL and she grows so much which is inspiring to read!

Thank you so much to the author Jada West for this amazing read! 💛 I literally could not escape my love and guilty obsession for how I feel in love with this read. Oh my geez the representation within both of our main fmc and mmc characters and their storylines as well as how each character is written well! Let me say Jada you literally must knew my type of ideal man, like oh my Mikkel 😁 that man, what a man, what a man, what a mighty good man yes indeed !! Mikkel everytime he had dialect, a sentence my gosh I was blushing after every page, he is protected, kind, as well as sweet, hardworking, might I also say a man that know what is he wants and is straight forward about what he does and doesnt want I love that type of honest personality. Mikkel throughout the book gets along with his family relationship well especially making sure his sister is cared for 🥺 like he is so sweet, also attentive and caring to his friends as well. Also being able to control his anger throughout reading the novel was so powerful to read since anger is such a reactive emotion and through so much it was so impactful to understand for his character as well. I love his character development☺️. Now let me say I love our fmc Abigail like for real she is so cool. Abigail is so written as relatable as possible, like her story and backstory/history made me emotional as well, like my goodness but she is so strong and I just wanted her to be so happy. I loved her confidence and how she stayed true to herself and didnt give in to insecurities and always shined ✨. Abigail and her story and character highlighted as well challenges and mental health representation and to push through darkness and negativity and to make sure to find your light always and to never dim it. Now on to Mikkel & Abigail love story they are so beautiful together they had me blushing at every scene that I was reading, like their connection , the pureness and build up it is all within patience and friendship as well as taking time to find the love with patience and kindness that I fell in love with 🥰 I loved them and this read so much, thank you so much to the author the lovely Jada West! ᥫ᭡.

➡️✨Thank you so much for writing this amazing novel! I am so thankful to be gifted this read in exchange for an honest review and I'm obsessed with this read so much! 💛 This book highlighted love of feeling seen, attentiveness, progressiveness as well as love that is not rushed but is patience. Mikkel and Abigail's love story made me fall in love with how the plotline focused not only on romance but also the aspects of relatable issues within the novel to help us in real aspects and to remember we are enough for ourselves and enough to be around others. ☺️ Thank you! Totally recommend!! ♾️

The first word that comes to mind when thinking about this book is “wow. This book was so good! There’s not a single that I didn’t like or would change. Mikkel and Abigail were so perfect for each other.
Mikkel was quite literally everything! He was so sweet, caring, romantic, attentive, affectionate, protective (he didn’t play about her), encouraging, supportive, loving, funny, reassuring, he loved spending money on and spoiling her, and the mouth on that man was filthy.
I really felt for Abigail. I could relate to some of her feelings she had towards her self. She would be down on herself, would feel like she wasn’t enough, would feel like she wasn’t deserving of the good things in life and I hated that for her. But seeing Mikkel come in and show her what it REALLY felt like to be loved and cherished was everything. He was the epitome of “what one man won’t do, another one will”
I loved their chemistry, their connection was so effortless, their spice was spiiiiiiicing, the wrap up was perfect, and there were so many cute moments and quotes. Him planning dates/outings to cross off everything from her bucket list, how he asked her to be his girlfriend, and him recreating the west wing from Beauty and the Beast (her favorite movie) in his penthouse were my favorites.
They had amazing friends and I can’t wait to get more of their books. I will definitely we rereading this one again

Right from the start, I was hooked on the book. Feels like the story sees right through you, it breaks you down with all the pain Abigail goes through, it slowly puts you back together and heals you in the most amazing ways. There was something healing in me as I read Abi and Mikkel’s story. 🌼

I resonated with Abigail on so many levels. She’s just so relatable and my heart breaks to see how much pain she’s gone through in her life. I wanted to see her life shift 180 and it did but not without putting in a lot of work. As hard as it got, she didn’t lose herself, she continued to battle internal demons and some external ones too. 💛

Jada masterfully takes on a heavy topic of mental health and struggles and the way she talked about it had me in awe. You make US feel heard, seen and that it does get better. ❤️‍🩹

And the way Abi’s emotions and feelings were expressed - I felt everything she felt! I would close my eyes and have a vivid picture of the scene and all the raw emotions going on…. especially the 🌶️ scenes 🤭

Mikkel?! Where do I even start with this man? An amazing person with flaws he was willing to work on and be the best version he can for Abigail. He goes above and beyond when it comes to Abi. From the start, he notices and remembers the small details, is attentive, and always knew what to say and how to say it. He truly does everything he can to help Abi with her mental health. 💛

I loved how their relationship very slowly and steadily developed. It felt normal, natural and Healthy. I was constantly giggling, laughing, in awe, yelling, blushing while reading it. It beautifully depicted the progression of a relationship and how it got deeper with each layer of understanding, love, intimacy, and healing. 💛🤎

I also enjoyed all the other side characters and their relationships to the main characters.

Ps. Loved that every chapter started with a quote! ☺️

Thank you to the author Jada West for the ARC, this read was perfection ✨✨

ARC Review: Before Dawn by Jada West
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

💵 Billionaire Romance
💛 Instant Attraction
💐 He Falls First
🌟 Age Gap
⚠️ Touch Her And D!e

Wow. I don’t even know where to begin, Before Dawn completely wrecked me in the best way. This book didn’t just tell a love story, it breathed one into existence. From the very first page, I was pulled into Abigail and Mikkel’s world, and I never wanted to leave.

Abigail felt like a mirror of my own heart. Her anxiety, her overthinking, that desperate need to feel safe and seen it was so real, so raw, and so beautifully written. The mental health representation in this book wasn’t just a backdrop it was part of the soul of the story, and it made me feel incredibly seen and understood.

And then there’s Mikkel. MY GOD. Jada West created the blueprint for a book boyfriend. He was tender, attentive, obsessed (in the best way), and so in tune with Abigail’s needs that I genuinely felt spoiled just reading about him. His acts of love weren’t just grand gestures they were intentional, thoughtful, and exactly what Abi needed. The man literally made me swoon with every single chapter.

The chemistry between them? Off the charts. The spice? Chef’s kiss. But even more than that, their connection was deeply emotional. Watching them move from strangers to friends to soul-deep lovers was such a beautiful journey. It’s one of those stories that reminds you what love should look and feel like gentle, healing, and fiercely protective.

This book made me laugh, cry, blush, and even stop reading for a moment just to feel. It cracked open something inside of me I didn’t even know needed healing.

If you’re looking for a powerful, character driven BIPOC romance that balances mental health, real love, and steamy moments with a whole lot of heart, Before Dawn is it. Jada West, you absolutely outdid yourself. I’ll be thinking about this story for a long, long time.

Abigail and Mikkel now live rent-free in my heart 🥹💛

⭐️TROPES:
Age Gap
He falls first
Obsessed
Strangers to lovers
Curvy FMC
Latin MMC
Billionaire

😖TRIGGERS:
Endometriosis
Anxiety
Verbal Abuse
Sexual content

>>>From the start of reading this book I (reading the blurb on it) I knew for me it would be an emotional and personal experience to read through. The FMC deals with a lot of post relationship trauma, as well as lack of self appreciation. The MMC is strong in all the ways you want a male role to be strong, soft in the areas you want him to show vulnerability, and yet have flaws (just like EVERYONE does). Getting to not only understand Abigail’s imperfections we get to learn about Mikkel’s as well. I love that both MCs have their flaws and yet help each other (in their own ways) to stand with one another and become stronger as a team. This is a romance book, but it gives so much more than you’d expect. This book has a TOUCH of spice to it, but if you are wanting some SMUT this doesn’t give too much away, but when Jada gives, man oh MAN does she give😮‍💨🥵 (so read accordingly 😉). Although I started with book 2, I’m excited to read book 1 and snag the other two book in this series when they’re good & ready. If you are like me and are a first time reader of @authorjadawest, understand this you are getting more than romance you are getting a new modern version of fairytale. She understands & knows what she is giving in this series and I am here for it ALLLL.

Book: 4.5 ⭐️
Spice: 3.2 🌶️

A Love That Heals: A Review of Before Dawn

Jada West’s Before Dawn is an emotionally rich and deeply moving story about love, healing, and the power of being truly seen. At the heart of this novel is Abby, a woman carrying the weight of a painful past, and Mikkel, a man who not only loves her but actively works to understand and cherish her in ways she’s never experienced before.

What makes Mikkel such an unforgettable character is his unwavering patience and kindness. He doesn’t just say he loves Abby—he shows it in every action, every thoughtful gesture. He learns things just for her, spoils her not just with material things but with care, and, most importantly, he never lets her past define her worth. His love is steady, unconditional, and healing. Even when confronted with his own flaws, Mikkel chooses to grow because he knows how his actions impact Abby. That level of self-awareness and dedication makes their relationship feel so raw and real.

Jada does an incredible job of portraying a love that isn’t just romantic—it’s restorative. Before Dawn isn’t just about falling in love; it’s about finding someone who chooses you, understands you, and stays through the hardest parts. If you’ve ever longed for a love that sees you for who you truly are, this book will stay with you long after the final page.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – A must-read for anyone who believes in the healing power of love.

This book was by far one of the best reads I’ve read. It will forever be in my mind. The love, the passion, the HEALING AND GROWTH! The ways someone can step in and show up. Jada knows how to write an actual love story.

A story with actual problems, insecurities, and trauma that doesn’t feel overly saturated. She writes stories about people becoming better WITH each other, and not just FOR each other. Before Dawn is powerful. It is a story for someone looking to find healing and love.

Abigail is so me. I feel very connected to her and everything that she was. I loved learning about her, and becoming close with her as a character. Her development was beautiful and I found myself in awe at how she grew from the beginning to the end. Abigail is a representation of how our lives can truly impact us, but taking the time and effort to work through our struggles can fuel happiness.

Mikkel. Can we just all pause and take a minute to inhale and exhale because of how WONDERFUL he was. I could not stop giggling, screaming, swooning, and gasping and how AMAZING that man was. I mean he sets the STANDARDS! AND THEY ARE HIGH NOW. Mikkel is a MAN ABOUT ACTION! He showed up for her, supported her, showed her the world and then some. He didn’t let anything cloud his judgment. TRUE KING! And the way he loved her had me sobbingggggggggg for hours. IT WAS SOME OF THE BEST ROMANCE I’VE READ IN A WHILE.

Just go read the book and thank me later! You will not be disappointed.

Whew! Where do I even begin?
First off, girlie is thicc! Before Dawn is nearly 600 pages, most of which are sweet and swoony and yall know I love me some BIG BOOKS!
Abi’s been through the wringer with her toxic ex, so watching her get loved up on properly by Mikkel had me in love!
Although a love story, this book really touched on some important topics, like endometriosis, mental health, anger management and family. Mikkel’s dedication to learning the best way to support Abi and help her manage her pain and mental health, made my heart so happy.
I think one of my fav parts about this book was seeing all the healthy male relationships between Mikkel and his friends and even the relationship he has with his own father. Although they mock and joke around with one another they are all there when needed. They clearly love and support one another and seeing that kind of love between black and brown men, needs to be further highlighted and spoken about in books and the real world.
I also love a book where the Latine characters speak Spanish in the book and where parts of the culture are brought out. Mikkel’s family is from the Dominican Republic and watching some of that heritage come out in the book through food or even his relationships with his family, really made me smile. Cause yall know, representation matters.
Before Dawn is a great heartwarming story about picking yourself back up after heartache and learning to let yourself trust and love again.

This book is for anyone who has ever felt like they were simultaneously not enough yet too much. Words can't begin to describe how beautiful it was to see Abi be loved by Mikkel in the most perfect way. I related so hard to the mental health issues that she dealt with and it was almost healing to see Mikkel be so patient with her and help her work through her anxiety.

Mikkel was the embodiment of if a man wanted to, he would!!! The dedication from this man was unmatched. The lengths he went to to not only understand Abi but also love her the way she deserved was absolutely beautiful. I really appreciated the work that he put in to make himself a better man too. We love to see it!! Also the nicknames he had for Abi were probably my favorite part. Mi reina??? I swooned every time

I loved Abi's growth through the book. It was realistic and raw and it made me so happy to see all of the progress she made by the end of the book. She deserved all of the very best things and Mikkel was going to make sure that she got it!

I think my only complaint was that this felt a little long and the pacing was kinda odd at times. I also did not read the first book in this series, but I wanted to see if this read like a true standalone, and I think it definitely would have more of an impact if you'd read the first book. Part of the odd pacing was the side story we got of periodic updates on Azzaria and Dillon's relationship. It just felt kinda rushed and like it wasn't really needed, but I understand the timelines overlap so it was necessary. There's definitely things that happened in the first book that are glossed over that are kind of significant that I'm sure were very emotional to read about in the first book, but I totally get why they were glossed over! This was Abi's book, not Azzaria's.

Anyway, I loved all the side characters and I'm interested in their stories!!

Okay but HOW can a book be this perfect?! Before Dawn by Jada West is pure magic and I’m absolutely OBSESSED. I rated it 5 stars without hesitation because it deserves all the stars in the sky. This story is so, so special to me!! I devoured every single page and didn’t want it to end. 😭💖

Let’s start with Abigail-ann… what an incredible character. She’s strong, vulnerable, determined, and just so beautifully written. I felt everything with her. Her emotions, her journey, her growth—ugh, I wanted to wrap her in a hug and cheer her on at the same time.

And Mikkel?? Oh my GOD, Mikkel Suarez is the dreamiest man alive. I’m actually devastated he’s not real 😭 He’s charming and complex and so unbelievably perfect in that soft, broody way that makes your heart ache in the best way. Every time he was on the page, I was blushing, giggling, and kicking my feet. His moments with Abigail-ann? Straight-up butterflies.

The slow burn romance and yearning in this book was Off. The. Charts. You could feel the tension and pull between them, it made every look, every touch, every word so powerful. I swear I was holding my breath waiting for them to finally give in 😭😭

And can we talk about Jada’s writing?! Her words are just so immersive, so lyrical, and emotional in all the right ways. I'm genuinely OBSESSED with her storytelling. SO PROUD OF YOU!!

I've read many books since a young age, and billionaire romance has always been welcomed by the community, though people in this era cling to authors that have most of their characters groveling after making a mistake , while the other stories find the characters in trying situations, However I find the writing style of author west rather addictive.

Yes this book has spice , slow burn, smut and a dreamy male character with tattoos , piercing and an obsession towards the female character, But the author has also uses her penmanship to shed light on mental health and condition of endometriosis that women face .

It is a refreshing story of lovers who stay with each other and fight for their partner , they stay and try to understand the one they hold most dear.

Dare I say , as an arc reader, this book deserves more recognition than some of the more famous authors out there, this book raises the standards of a reader, and though i might cannot not say this outright but author Jade West has truly outdone herself writing this masterpiece .

I know and guarantee that in the near future this book series will surpass that of , twisted series, series written by Elsie silver and Lauren asher.

( P.s this is my opinion so i hope that others understand and do not try to put me down for it.)

A million stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️for this book. Wow, I’ve never read a book like this in my life, it was that good. I honestly don’t know if I’ll ever get over this story. My first read from this wonderful author and it’s surpassed all my expectations.
The way Abigail and Mikkel’s story unfolded was so beautiful, they were meant for each other in every which way. Their characters were so wonderfully depicted and their relationship was literally out of this world 🥹.

Mikkel Suarez, the man you are 😮‍💨🥹, he literally ticked all the boxes and was unlike any MMC I’ve ever encountered. Literal perfection. He was so intentional with the way he showed up and loved Abigail, from their first encounter. Everything he said and did was just swoon worthy. He is the literal blueprint of a perfect man and partner. Sigh, fictional men are such a beautiful concept 😔😂

Abigail was such a relatable character. I loved how she expressed herself and how she was honest with her struggles with anxiety. I love how she never second guessed her relationship with Mikkel and she didn’t stop herself from trusting in Mikkel, regardless of her past. She complemented Mikkel so perfectly and I loved how she fell in love with herself and believed in her worthiness to be loved and to be seen.

Honestly, one of the best books I’ve ever read, no notes💋
