Welcome to Frost Falls, a charming town where the holiday season begins with... a missing dog?
Jessica Kringle, the North Pole’s former First Lady (and wife of You Know Who), is ready to embrace small-town life with her loyal penguin Pip by her side. As autumn leaves crunch underfoot and jack-o-lanterns glow on porches, Jessica finds herself swept into the town’s Halloween spirit. But when Snowball, the beloved pet of her new friend Martha, vanishes without a trace, Frost Falls suddenly feels a little colder.
Determined to help her friend and show her new neighbors the power of Christmas spirit—even in October—Jessica dives into the mystery. With the help of her knitting group, a dash of North Pole ingenuity, and her trusty sidekick Pip, she unearths secrets as tangled as yarn and suspects as slippery as ice.
Will Jessica and her friends find Snowball in time to save Halloween? Or will this chilly mystery leave Frost Falls with a frostbitten heart? Settle in with a pumpkin-spiced treat and enjoy this cozy holiday mystery where friendship, warmth, and a sprinkle of Christmas magic light the way to solving the case. Perfect for fans of small-town charm and festive whodunits, Frost and Found is a delightful start to a holiday mystery series that will warm your heart all year long.
It all started when she learned to read at five. One of her first and favorite memories is of words taped to all the objects in the house. Not long after that, books became the best thing ever and there was no turning back.
She suffered a crisis of confidence in High School and College and decided writing was too difficult, so she earned a degree in Chemistry instead. Three career changes and four children later, she’s back to writing and much happier for it.
Now she works from her home office in New Hampshire amid the books, kids, and occasional pets. Visit her at http://LisaBouchard.com.
The positives: - undoubtedly a cute story about a missing dog returned to its owner with all the fall cozy attributes - I think this would be a perfect story for 2nd-4th graders.
Why I couldn’t get behind it: - the bulk of the story did have a lot of repeating. And I don’t mean that things were reiterated (which they were) but I’m talking about specific phrases that were repeated sometimes with in the same page. Such as “the smell of blank and blank enveloped me like a warm hug”, “the bright and cheery whatever at odds with the feelings or situation” the shear AMOUNT of times “this is what Frost Falls is all about. Taking care of each other and community” was said could have shortened the book in half. - the format said 7 chapters. I believe there were 16-17. The last few chapters felt completely separate in writing style (and were formatted different) - the unfortunate accumulation of the later points does lead me to believe that AI was used for the middle bulk of the story.
It was very repetive with certian phrases.I felt the book lacked suspense and fell flat when trying to make you picture the town and all its glory. I felt if this book was longer the author would of been able to go into more detail and lengthen and expand the character development
What a lovely story. Hard to believe Santa and Mrs. Claus have moved to a small town in New Hampshire and just before Halloween. This is a story of a close small town community helping one anpther.
The author has reworked Santa and his wife Jessica into solving a mystery in Frost Falls, New Hampshire. She reminds us what community is like from small town perspective. I enjoyed reading this book very much.
