In the film, The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, a young prince (Jake Gyllenhaal) must prove his innocence with the reluctant help of a conquered princess (Gemma Arterton) and a magic dagger that can reverse time. In this book, the reader is the main character. The books are written in second person and allow the reader to choose the protagonist's path-- for good, or ill!

About the author

Carla Jablonski is the author and editor of dozens of best-selling books for teenage and middle-grade readers. She grew up in New York City, where she attended public schools and the Bronx High School of Science. She has a BA in anthropology from Vassar College and an MA from NYU's Gallatin School, an interdisciplinary program for which she combined playwriting, the history of gender issues in 19th Century Circus, and arts administration. "I wanted to write the play, contextualize the play, and learn how to produce the play for my degree," she explains. "I think I may have been the happiest graduate student at NYU -- I SO loved working toward my thesis."

While still in graduate school she supported herself as the editor of The Hardy Boys Mysteries. "When I interviewed for the job they asked me if I'd ever read the Hardy Boys as a kid. 'No way,' I scoffed. 'Those are BOY books! It was Nancy Drew for me!' Luckily my future boss had a sense of humor. She hired me after I promised I'd read the books if I got the job."

She has participated in the renowned Breadloaf Writers' Conference as well as Zoetrope's All-Story highly competitive writing workshop held at Francis Ford Coppella's resort in Belize. She has taught writing for the children's market, as well as "cold-reading" skills for teachers as part of Project:Read. Several of her books have been selected as part of the Accelerated Reader's program.

She continues to work freelance as an editor for publishers and for private clients, even as she writes novels and creates new series. She also has another career (and identity!) as a playwright, an actress, and a trapeze performer. "I try to keep the worlds separate," she explains about her multiple identities. "The different work I do has different audiences, so I want to keep them apart. But they're all me -- they're all ways of expressing what I'm thinking and feeling -- just in different mediums."

فکر کنم مسخره ترین مرگ گیرم اومد😂💔
بیشترین جذابیت این کتاب توی 20تا پایان متفاوتش و اینکه خودت داستان رو رقم میزنی هستش، اما نحوه داستان گویی میتونست یه کم بهتر باشه، به عنوان یه کتاب انگار فقط دیالوگ داشت با یه سری توضیح سریع از مکان و اتفاقا... اما در کل تجربه جالبی بود

میدونی ؟ اکی بود نه خیلی خوب بود نه بد بود...جالب ترین قسمتش ایده ی بیست تا پایان متفاوتش بود که جذابش میکرد اما از یه جایی به بعد مثلا از پایان دهم به بعد خیلی سخت میشد که بخوای بگردی بقیه ی راه ها رو بری تا به بقیه ی پایان ها برسی
من چون وحشتنااااااک عاشق فیلمش و بعد از اون بازی ش هستم کتاب رو خریدم و بااایددد میداشتمش

ترجمه ی آقای شهرابی هم که گلابتون بود مثل همیشه

اینکه خودم میتونستم پایان داستان رو رقم بزنم جالب بود! تا حالا کتابی اینجوری نخونده بودم. :دی

I like the way that book gives us many choices for the story. But generally, about the story, as an Iranian I really didn't like it. It seems like that the writer didn't know any thing about Iran just heard the word "persia" and as always knows whole the middle east as one country and the same. Even the names and environment were not correct. Arabic words were used for a time period before coming Islam to Iran. The writer says there is a desert just beside a famous mountainous area of Iran.
I just can't get it.

شاهزاده دستان ، خنجر شگفت انگیزی دارد که دسته اش با شن های زمان پر شده . این شن ها میتواند آدمی را در زمان به عقب ببرند . اکنون دستان به جنایتی هولناک متهم شده و مجبور است علیه سپاه پارس وارد جنگ شود .
اگر تو جای شاهزاده دستان باشی ، چه میکنی ؟
آیا میتوانی راهی برای نجات بیابی یا باز همان اشتباهات را تکرار میکنی و جهان را به نابودی میکشانی ؟
این بار تویی که برای شاهزاده دستان و زندگی اش تصمیم میگیری .

wow...it has almost 20 different endings .Some have 5 pages to them others have 40.(ENDING).I GIVE IT 4 stars. it was a really good book

داستان جالبی داشت. ولی یکسری نقد دارم :
۱-توی انتخاب اسم ها واقعا دقت نشده بود.(مثلا نظام! اونموقع اصلا اسم عربی توی ایران رواج نداشته اونم برای یک شاهزاده!)
۲-داستان قشنگ بود، ولی قلم نویسنده زیباییش رو تضعیف می‌کرد! نویسنده میتونست توی هر بخش یکم بیشتر از آرایه های ادبی استفاده کنه، مثلا توی «پایان» هایی که دستان می مُرد، اصلا حس غم انتقال نمی‌داد! وقتی یه کاراکتر میمیره تراژدیه دیگه! ولی انگار نه انگار!
۳-خیلی گیج کننده بود، من حدود شانزده پایانش رو تجربه کردم. ولی وقتی خواستم دوباره برم دنبال یک پایان دیگه بگردم یهو دیدم یه جا دوباره رفت سر خونه ی اول، یا یه جا انگار اشتباه به یه جایی که به داستان مربوط نبود ارجاع داده شده بود.
فکر می‌کنم فیلم و بازیش جالب تر از کتابش باشه، قبل از اینکه بخونمش ذوق داشتم، ولی بعد از خوندنش خیلی خورد تو ذوقم!

بدون شک خود داستان متوسطه ولی این روش تعاملی کردنش خیلی جذاب کرده و این کتاب رو واقعا منحصر به فرد کرده. به خاطر اینکه شما میتونی سرنوشت شخصیت رو رغم بزنی جذابیت زیادی داره داستان انگار داری یه جور بازی میکنی!

من این کتاب رو خیلی وقت پیش خوندم ولی الان یادش افتادم

برای کسی که بازی کامپیوتری شاهزاده ایرانی رو تجربه کرده، خوندنش پیشنهاد میشه. داستان زیاد بلندی نیست. آخر هر بخش از داستان، دو انتخاب بهت میده که طبق تصمیمی که میگیری، مسیر داستان متفاوت پیش میره. من این سبک از داستان گویی رو تجربه نکرده بودم قبلا. میتونه تجربه جدیدی واستون باشه.

خیلی این کتابو دوست داشتم داستان از دید دستان گفته میشه و اینکه خودت میتونستی انتخاب کنی که دستان چه راهی رو بره خیلی جذاب بود😭جلد دومش رو هم خوندم اون از دید تهمینه هست اونم خوب بود ولی به نظرم جلد یک جذاب تر بود :)

کی باید به خونده شده هام اضافه اش کنم یعنی؟😂
سخت ترین بخش خوندن این کتاب دنبال فصلای مختلف گشتنش بود هعی باید ورق بزنی تا پیدا کنی
