Scott Woods lives in Columbus, Ohio, and the back cover says this is "a book-shaped blues album." It's excellent, and I'm glad I read it. I thought about listing some of the poems I liked best, but there are too many. So I'm just going quote one line from the poem "Don't Say Friend," in which nearly all the lines begin "when you mean..." And the line I want to share is: "when you mean I've lost myself and you look like a map." Isn't that good?

Read this for a book club. I enjoyed the poet’s pop culture references spanning nearly 50 years, his wit and comedic elements, and passion that you can feel throughout. There are a lot of layers to these poems and I need to reread to fully appreciate them. I would also like to go back through and look up the references I didn’t get. Overall, I enjoyed this one!
