I’m living my dream. Owning a cozy little bakery in downtown Snowflake Falls is everything I ever wanted. Even though the holidays are a hectic time of year, there’s nothing better than the feel of Christmas mixed with a bit of sugar.
When an unexpected visitor drops by to say hello, my entire world shifts on its axis. Burk Whitman was my best friend until, right before our first year of high school, he unexpectedly moved away. Now, he’s back in town and being around him isn’t exactly a hardship. In fact, it’s quite the opposite.
The problem is, his time here is temporary and if I’m not careful, I risk losing my heart forever.
Burk
One phone call is all it takes for me to come back to Snowflake Falls. With my gramps in the hospital, a huge void is left at my family’s Christmas tree farm during their busiest time of year. Being here after fourteen years might be just what the doctor ordered.
When I hear my oldest friend, Joy Campbell, owns the bakery in town, I have to drop by to say hello. I’m ready to fall back into the familiar banter we once engaged in, but what I’m not expecting is to come face-to-face with the most beautiful woman in the world. Spending time with her isn’t a hardship, and soon, lines begin to blur.
How will I return to the East Coast when everything I didn’t realize I wanted is right where I left it in Snowflake Falls?
Avid reader, writer, mother, and wife! I love to read contemporary romance. Add in a little "spice" or hot guys in uniform pants, and I'm a happy woman. There's just something about diving into a book and engrossing in the magic of your hero and heroine getting their happily ever after.
Can you tell me anything cuter than childhood best friends getting their chance to find HEA?
Joy and Burk's friendship was torned from them when his dad and grandpa had a falling out which led him to move away. But 15 years has past and Burk is back to help his family farm, while his grandpa recovers from a stroke.
When they see each other again is like time had not passed but they've both grown up and figting the chemistry seems crazy. The only damper on the new found happiness is the looming date of Burks need to return back home.
This story was sweet and sizzling at all the right places. I loved the fact that our love birds didn't have any drama before reaching HEA. They were open and honest and I loved everything about this book.

Lacey always writes the feel good books & this one is perfect for Christmas time. Joy & Burk were best friends when they were younger until Burk moved away. He comes back for family reasons & catches wind that Joy is still in town and owns her own bakery. He stops in to see her & the rest is history. This is such a sweet story & Joy and Burk will give you all the feels.
Review by: Jennifer (5 Stars) The second in this super cute Christmas world, while this didn't have the funny kitty antics of book one, this was still an entertaining read. I love the Hallmark feel that this story had, the long-lost best friend coming back into town to help out the family. The reconnection of the friendship and then it turning into more than that. Then the part where the couple realize, they live in two different places, so this is just until he goes home. The non-Hallmark moments, the sizzling naughty bits and off the charts chemistry. This was a really good read and I give this 5 stars.
Tropes: ❤️small town 🎄holiday ❤️it’s always been you vibes 🎄returning to his hometown ❤️childhood friends to lovers 🎄dual pov

Merry Little Sugar Rush is a sweet small-town story filled with heartwarming moments, adorable nicknames, playful banter, and wonderful side characters who make Snowflake Falls feel like home. Joy Campbell owns a little bakery and coffee shop called Sweet Escape in Snowflake Falls, and she’s living her dream when a blast from her past comes to town. Burk Whitman has returned after many years to help at his family’s Christmas tree farm during their busiest season, especially now that his grandfather is in the hospital. Once inseparable best friends, Joy and Burk were torn apart when he unexpectedly moved away right before their first year of high school. This Christmas romance is perfect for curling up on the couch with a warm blanket and a cup of hot chocolate. By the end, I was completely charmed by Joy and Burk’s journey—and a little sad that it ended. Merry Little Sugar Rush delivers all the cozy, feel-good vibes I crave in a holiday romance. If you’re looking for a festive, heartwarming read that will leave you smiling long after the last page, this one absolutely deserves a spot on your bookshelf and/or Kindle. Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book and am providing an honest and unbiased review. Despite receiving it for free, I have purchased the ebook version of this book, along with the previous book in the series, for my Kindle.
Merry Little Sugar Rush is the sweetest addition to this authors glowing list of books. Black’s newest addition to the ‘SnowFlake Falls Series’ gives Hallmark vibes through and through. No third act breakup here. Nothing but a heart happy read.
I love that this author gave us the childhood friends to lovers trope featured around the most wonderful time of year. I felt the authenticity of Joy and Burks childhood through the snippets that were given throughout the storyline. I love that the feelings each character evoked, didn’t feel rushed and sudden given the timeline of the story. I felt that the development was perfectly in tune with the storyline.
I loved these characters. Joy is honestly pure joy. She radiates so much happiness and positivity. She’s the type of character that could make anyone smile, at anytime. Burk was so easy going. He’s the type to drop everything he has going on for those he loves with absolutely no complaints. He’s creative and kind. These two harmonize so well together that know going in, that nothing can break their bond, nor time or distance.
Merry Little Sugar Rush is a great holiday read that deserves all the recognition. I definitely recommend it.
Lacey Black delivered every ounce of holiday sweetness I was craving with Merry Little Sugar Rush, the second instalment in her Snowflake Falls series. Just the town’s name alone brings all the warm, Hallmark-movie feelings — and returning to Snowflake Falls felt like being back among old friends wrapped in twinkling lights and festive cheer.
When Burk returns to town to help his family at their Christmas tree farm, the last thing he expects is to discover his former teenage best friend, Joy, running her own bakery. One visit turns into a spark he can’t ignore — an instant, electric connection that is anything but friendship.
Joy has always carried quiet feelings for Burk, but after his family left years ago following a rift with his dad and grandad, she never imagined those emotions would come rushing back.
Lacey Black creates a snow-globe world you can step right into: warm lights, frosty nights, cinnamon-sweet kisses, and a romance blossoming as beautifully as a Christmas morning sunrise. But when Burk’s life in the city calls him back… will love be enough to keep him in Snowflake Falls?
Swoon all the way. Thank you, Ms. Black, for another wonderful Christmas romance that filled my heart with festive magic.
A sweet and nostalgic holiday romance, Lacey Black’s Merry Little Sugar Rush perfectly captured all the magic of second chances and small-town Christmas charm. When Burk returned to his hometown for the first time in years to help on his grandfather’s Christmas tree farm, he was surprised to find that Joy, the childhood best friend he left behind, owned the town’s bakery. Their hesitant reunion was filled with warmth and unresolved history, but what truly shined was the surprisingly magnetic chemistry that ignited between them.
Black masterfully built their slow-burn romance with tender moments, festive scenes and a cozy, small-town setting that made every page feel like a holiday hug. As Burk and Joy rediscovered each other, their journey from friends to something more was heartfelt, hopeful and simmering with romantic tension. Told in Black's engaging and heartfelt storytelling style, this friends-to-lovers tale was a feel-good holiday escape that celebrates coming home, healing old wounds and finding love in the most familiar—and sweetest—of places. Five smooches from me for Merry Little Sugar Rush by Lacey Black! ~Danielle Palumbo
Another beautiful holiday romance set in Snowflake Falls. The setting and the atmosphere is like a romantic evening walk in the snowfall. A book full of emotions and sweetness.
Joy has everything she dreamed of now that she has opened her bakery. Living right upstairs make it super easy to pop in and out at different times to do prep work. But sometimes she wishes for more, for a love like her sister has found, someone to spend her spare time with.
Burke is returning to Snowflake falls for the first time in 15 years. He's coming home to help at the farm since his grandpa has taken ill. Though his parents haven't kept a relationship up since leaving, he has tried to keep in touch with a few. He's nervous that he let the distance stay once he was old enough to choose for himself. As he makes the trek back, he gets to thinking about his best friend, the girl who knew all of his secrets.
Will Joy be glad to see him? Will they still have the same easiness between them?
Grab your cup of cocoa and a cozy spot and enjoy.

In book one, Merry Little Mix-Up, we meet high school sweethearts John and Eve. Now that Eve has her HEA, it’s time for her younger sister Joy.
Joy owns a bakery in the small town of Snowflake Falls. Everyone knows everyone and sometimes that’s a good thing. When the local Christmas Tree Farm’s owner has a health scare, people jump in to help, including Burk. Burk is back in town to help family during the busy season. He hasn’t seen his family in many years and is excited to be back.
Burk and Joy were childhood friends but when Burk moved, time and distance tore them apart. They thought of each other over time and both are very excited to see one another. Despite the many years apart, when they get together, it’s like no time has passed.
Such a sweet story. Love these stories around the Holidays. But books are great reads. Both are fairly short stories, easy to read, lighthearted, entertaining, and full of love. Thank you #GiveMeBooksPR
Yay were back in Snowflake Falls and just in time for holiday again. We have Eve's sister Joy and oh boy get ready for full blown magic topped with full of love and a sugar rush you never saw coming. It's been years since Snowflake Falls has seen Burk Whitman and now that he's back it's like he never left especially for Joy. Not only do we seem him back but there is some past memories he must figure out with his Grandpa before he loses what really matters, family. Baking has always been her thing and oh my God the cute little nickname he has for her just seems right coming from him and his from her so hillarious. He definitely has grown and boy is Joy well star struck and feelikg like her crush is paying attention to her at last. Seeing these two rekindle their friendship was beautiful and the attraction between them explosive like fireworks on New Years. Lacey Black totally rocked this book and it hit all the right notes for the holiday.
Lacey Black serves up a holiday romance that feels like stepping straight into a glitter-filled snow globe—cozy, twinkly, and spicy enough to warm your cheeks.
Joy and Burk’s reunion hits all the right notes: old feelings resurfacing, chemistry crackling like a fireplace, and that delicious blend of nostalgia and heat that makes a second-chance romance irresistible. Their connection is sweet, a little sexy, and bursting with “oh they’re so meant to be” energy.
The side characters bring the whole world to life, creating a small-town Christmas vibe that feels festive, funny, and wonderfully chaotic. It’s the kind of cast that makes you want to move in, borrow a sweater, and stay for the holiday party.
If you’re craving Christmas charm, rekindled friendship, and a heart-tugging love story wrapped with a bow, this one delivers all the feels.

We are returning to Snowflake Falls for the latest in the series names for the town. A Hallmark like experience, with plenty of spice. Pull up a cozy chair, a warm drink of choice and enjoy with the this story.
Joy and Burk are the center of this story; Joy owns the local bakery. Burk has returned to his hometown. His grandfather has had a stroke, and his family needs his help with the family Christmas tree farm.
Joy and Burk were best friends in their youth, until a fallout between the fathers, moves his family to North Carolina. Burk will be in town for one month, can they renew their friendship? Will friendship become more? Can they do long distance?
I am adding this to the long list of fabulous holiday stories authors have provided for us this holiday season.
Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
This one was as sweet as the cookie and cakes the Joy makes. Snowflake Falls is the idyllic holiday town right down to the snow and Christmas tree farm.
Joy is the owner of a bakery in the middle of town, and she loves Christmas. Last Christmas she watched her sister fall in love and this Christmas it’s her turn.
Burk Whitman’s family is a staple in Snowflake Falls with the family Christmas tree farm. However, Burk has been away for a long time when his father and grandfather had a falling out. Now with his grandfather sick Burk has come home to lend a hand.
Joy and Burk were best friends from children until Burk went away as a young teen. They tried to stay in touch with letters and calls but eventually they dried up as tends to happen with teenagers.
When the pair reunite, they fall right back into those friend rolls and have a great comradery. Underlying that friendship though is something more and the attraction sizzles and bubbles between them.
I enjoyed how sweet and easy their friendship was and what a gentleman Burk was. He was soft and gentle as well as fun and playful with Joy and his family. Joy was sweet and cute with all the girl next door vibes, but she’s strong and determined starting her dream business and making it such a success.
They made a very cute couple and gave me all the warm holiday feelings I could want.
This is the second book in this impressive series, and this is Joy and Burk’s story. These two were childhood best friends, until his gramps and dad had a falling out, and his dad moved them unexpectedly out of town. Joy is living her dream as a bakery owner, while Burk returns to town when his gramps is ill, and his family, needs help with their Christmas tree farm. This is a well written easy to read story, with family, friendships, emotions, friends / lovers, humour, witty banter, second chances, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, small-town romance. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
The story has laughs, secrets, and second chances.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Merry Little Mix-Up (Snowflake Falls #1)
This is Joy and Burk’s story. These two have history. They were best friends until he up and moved away. Now he is back in town but it’s all temporary. Can she be friends again but guard her heart this time? He’s back in town after 14 years to help out with the family business but he is going back home as soon as he can. That is until he starts spending time with Joy. Then he wonders what will happen if he stays. Can he stay?
3 .5⭐️’s- Joy and Burk's childhood friendship ended when his dad and grandpa had a falling out which led him to move away. But 15 years have passed and Burk is back to help his family farm, and Joy is someone he wants to reconnect with.
This book was cute and Christmassy. I enjoyed it and loved Joy and Burks friendship and how it grew to tension and love was so cute. It was very fast paced and it skipped time a few times which I didn't really love but I still enjoyed this book. The ending was very satisfying and well rounded for the story and the couple, which I like. Overall this was a Christmassy, fun, short read and I had fun reading it.
We are back in Snowflake Falls and I just love this small town. This story just warmed my heart so much!! I loved Joy & Burk so much. These childhood friends who reconnect will just melt your heart. I loved this story so much, the love that grows between these two will give you all the feels. We get to catch up with Eve & John as well and the latest goings on with Miss Snowflake & Biggie!! I just love this town and this story kept me turning the page. I loved everything about this story and hope there is more to come.
Joy is living a life that she only dreamed of and owning her own bakery is everything she ever wanted. When her old friend Burk comes back to town, she may find her last missing piece. Burk left town with his family and has been gone for many years, now he is back and his old friend Joy is all grown up! I really enjoyed this small town holiday romance. I love these characters and their quirks, Lacey Black is a great story weaver!!!
Such a beautiful and sweet read! It was great going back to Snowflake Falls. To read Joy’s story after falling in love with her sister Eve. Another great story, plus seeing into another great family. These characters are so likable, just like you expect from Lacey, but mix in the holidays and it was so much more. From the fun nicknames, young friendship and the banter makes you never want to stop reading. Burk was a sweet and charming character that added extra sweet to the beautiful Joy. A great holiday read! I highly recommend this book. Told in dual POV.
This is a cute, heartwarming, small town holiday romance.
Joy and Burk are so cute together with their cute nicknames for each other, their shared history as kids and BFFs and now their attraction as adults.
Burk left town and his extended family over a decade ago, but he falls right back into the hometown routine while Joy has stayed and made a name for herself from her Easy Bake oven to owning her own bakery.
Overall an entertaining read that is sure to bring a smile to your face.
I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.

I so loved this old childhood friends reconnecting. The magic of the season sprinkled in. I love that Joy is a baker and owns her own bakery. Lacey Black has a brand new book out y'all, and it is perfect for the holiday season! Merry Little Sugar Rush was such a sweet and swoony story that had me reading until the pages quit turning. Joy and Burke were really good, and their journey was exactly what I'd want in a holiday romance. This is the perfect one to cozy up by the fire. Welcome back to Snowflake Falls.
I can definitely recommend this cute holiday romance!
A must read!! Joy and Burk are going to make you fall in love with them! This book is a classic Lacey Black! Nicknames, childhood memories, reconnection, all the feels! Joy randomly thinks about her childhood friend Burk who she lost contact with. She and Burk were inseparable until he moved away. He pops into her bakery one day after moving back to help at his Grandfather's tree farm. Sparks fly!!! This is a must read!!
Burk returns to Snowflake Falls temporary, and he has to visit his best friend from bach then, Joy while he’s there. But Joy is all woman now, and how can he leave her behind now? It’s been fifteen years since they have seen each other, but it could easily have been just yesterday. The only thing that has changed, is that they’re not kids anymore. And the chemistry is there from the start. You can’t help but fall for Joy and Burk, and Snowflake Falls.
