This relationship was supposed to be fake. But when he dumps the clinic photos on the table and says, "Tell me the Are you pregnant?" It starts to feel very, very real.
Owen Sharpe is like a Bingo card of "Men I Should Stay Away From." Gorgeous? Of course. Cocky? Like a literal rooster.
Pro hockey player with a fat wallet and a bad attitude? You already know it. But when I get locked out on my apartment balcony— While missing a crucial piece of my clothing ( the lower half)— Owen is the only person willing and able to help me. That's how I ended up in his apartment for the night.
And when the Houston Scythes superstar needed a fake girlfriend to rehab his terrible PR image, I was willing to return the favor.
Besides, we both swore this was fake. But when that pregnancy test comes up with two blue lines… Our worlds changed forever.
PUCK PRINCE is the first book in the Houston Scythes Hockey duet. The story continues in Book 2 of the series, PUCK PRINCESS.
At the beginning of this book I had my doubts but I quickly got sucked in and fell in love with these characters! The back and forth between them and the scandals gave a whole new feel to my usual hockey obsession. 4.5 ⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️.

Initial thoughts are two-fold. I love good banter and characters that have easy chemistry. And I even adore Kennedy as a supporting character. To me, characters make or break a story, regardless of plot. But on the same note, the back and forth of their relationship was annoying. And maybe I’m a bit naive but I really doubt there is that bad of a paparazzi problem in Texas…just seemed implausible. Tightening up the story line might have helped, but I’m still looking forward to reading the sequel.
“I’m scared, obviously. But somewhere under the fear of stretch marks and pain and pooping on the delivery table, there’s love.”

Yep that's a real quote. Read this as a joke and sometimes it is VERRRYYYYY cringe but honestly… it’s not bad! I kinda hate all the characters but am somehow still interested. Ended on a cliffhanger so I’m going to (reluctantly) pick up the second one. Stay tuned for the PowerPoint presentation @Sukhmani @Liana @Jonna @Katie @Hailey @Maddy
Holy cats! The cliffhanger ending of this book! It certainly did its job because I am going to read the next one immediately after this review. I enjoyed the book and it really engaged me. I thought that the love scenes were spot on and very hot. I liked both main characters and hated the characters I was supposed to hate.
I also thought that their meet cute- she locked herself out on the neighboring balcony in only a tank top and underwear- was hilarious. And the fact that he knew about the spare key the whole time made it priceless.
There were a few TSTL moments on both of the main characters’ parts. But it just made them more human. And it made me realize how immersed in the story I was when I realized that I was shouting at my Kindle.
Here’s the breakdown: MMC/FMC- Owen and Callie Genre- Sports Romance (hockey) Length- novel Heat- I found it incredibly hot. They do the things and use the P word. Series? Other triggers- violence, language, self love, sex, obstinate cat Tropes- Wine and Regrets, The Missing Piece of the Big O, Dysfunctional Family FTW, Neighbor, One Night Stand, Enemies to Lovers, Fake Relationship, Surprise Pregnancy, Ebil Ex, Secrets and Lies… and a Partridge in a Pear Tree.

H: Owen Sharpe h: Callie Coleman HEA 🚫 CW: 🍇 - off page, but described in flashbacks/nightmares
This is book 1 in a duet, so the HEA is not in this book.
It starts out in an unlikely, yet comedic meet between the two MCs. And while highly attracted to one another, they cannot stand each other. Naturally, they have a lot of miscommunication and non communication problems, as expected from two people who can barely admit to themselves that they like one another more than physically.
For most of the book, I thought maybe Callie and Summer (MMC's sister) have the same scary ex. It's implied that Summer has some lingering issues, like anxiety and panic. Callie has PTSD and panic attacks following her relationship with her ex (it was before MCs meet).
I am invested in the side plot of Kennedy (FMC's cousin) and Lance (MMC's best friend).
Believably, most of the teammates are dudes and say some cringey, sexist stuff, but Miles is the worst. He's so slimy and gross.
I knew not to start this book before going to bed, but I did it anyway. I then read it all in one sitting and made myself exhausted the next day because of course, I was up until a little after 4:00 am reading when I needed to get up at 6:15...
I was enjoying this until around 60% when Callie sees her cousin Kennedy dancing with Callie’s ex (who apparently treated her badly enough for her to have panic attacks at seeing him or hearing from him again, it hasn’t been fully explained at this point what he did to her). What does Callie do when she sees her cousin dancing with this man that gave her PTSD? She runs out of the club panicking and goes home with Owen and has sex with him. I guess I can’t fully understand what PTSD is like and how someone would react in that situation but dang, why would she just leave her cousin in a potentially dangerous situation without warning her?? Then the more I thought about it, I just didn’t like how Callie doesn’t tell anyone anything, not even her cousin/best friend that she’s pregnant or everything that happened at her last job with the ex. It just felt like the story was being dragged out. Then I realized this book is over 500 pages and ends on a cliffhanger and that’s just too much commitment for me. I did think the writing was good and the spicy scenes were alright but I just didn’t like how Callie didn’t look out for her cousin.
*Check TW: there is a surprise pregnancy trope, mention of past SA in flashbacks
I've been a huge fan since her first hockey duet, but I think this one is probably the first time I wasn't super into it all the way through. It started promising, I adore some fake dating where he falls first and harder, I loved the banter between Owen and Callie, her cousin and his sister had some funny dialogue and I adored the MMCs best friend. But after about half way through, I found the storyline to be kinda stagnant. It was way too much of the Callie and Summer not saying their attackers' names and Owen trying to beat someone up every few chapters. The character growth was just not there for the MCs, and the entire story depends on miscommunication and that's a trope that's hard to take for 500 pages. Glad we wrapped up one of the girls' crazy ex stories, but gotta see where we go with the other. I'm holding out hope for a strong finish in the next book and for the love of Pete, what happened between Kennedy and Lance?!
I tried to savior the story but this book was just so good! I didn't want to put it down for anything. I loved all the angst and suspense. The connection between Callie and Owen was red hot with fiery chemistry. I loved all the bantering between them.
I really like Callie. She was spunky and quick witted. She didn't let Owen push her around and was willing to go toe to toe with him every time. She was also caring and empathetic which helped to make her relatable.
Owen was a sweet guy. The normal strong, protective type but with a sweet side. He had a rough past and was so loving with those in his inner circle.
I really enjoy the style of writing. It's very natural and like having a conversation with a friend. It's relatable with an easy flow. I liked all the characters and how they fit together. The sub plots between them all are interesting and add to the enjoyment of the story. This is one I would definitely recommend!
This book has me all over the place! I love the MCs their banter is solid! Make you laugh out loud and fall in love with them. Their push and pull through the entire book does how ever start to drag. Only bc it’s not a short read. It’s also a duet.
I gave it a 4.5 ⭐️ bc the Callie will not stand up for herself not even to her uncle. Who is supposed to love her like a daughter and know at least some of the things from her past. Also the whole thing with the other hockey player I mean what the crap! NO! Anyone should be able to read the room either at the ball or even at the end. I’m just disappointed how the author has chosen to ignore how she has made the relationship between Callie and her uncle seem like daughter and father.
I did enjoy the side characters her cousin and Owen’s best friend bring a lot of laughter.
I am hoping the 2nd book is stronger. I enjoyed the read and couldn’t put it down.
This is not you average sport romance. From love to hate, fake romances and heartbreak. You won't want to miss out on this hockey romance. Callie has recently joined her uncles hockey team as a PT. Trying to start over after an awful romantic experience leading to her new home and work. Owen plays hockey. A protector at heart. Everything changes. Not for the better when he meets Callie under some very hilarious circumstances. These two have an angsty, unconventional relationship that proves faking things isn't always the way to go. When both of their lives truly get entwined and trouble comes at the most inconvenient time when the past comes back to haunt them. Who will be around to protect who? Will they ever find happiness or safety in this world despite being two professionals? I can't wait to read book 2 to see what happens next. 4 stars.
Owen and Callie come in fast and hot in Puck Prince. They both have no idea who the other is, but once they figure it out, things get complicated really quickly. Especially if you consider their individual histories, which neither of them know about each other either.
Mariah Wolfe does an amazing job spinning the intensity, passion and intrigue as we get to know Owen and Callie, and watch them figure out who they are to each other, and how best to navigate what life is throwing at them. And the reveals set up through the book that you just KNOW and FEAR are coming is remarkable!
An amazing ride of a read... GO FOR IT!.

After reading Puck Prince, I was slightly disappointed when it was left on what looked like a cliffhanger. However, I did enjoy getting to know both Callie and Owen as well as seeing their story unfold throughout this book. Author Mariah Wolfe has written an incredible hockey romance book. Puck Prince is the first book that I have had the pleasure to read by Author Mariah Wolfe and she did NOT disappoint in anyway whatsoever. This hockey romance is quite suspenseful and a definite page turner. I would certainly recommend this incredible hockey romance for anyone who enjoys reading this kind of romances. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Tropes: sport romance, hockey romance, enemies to lovers, fake marriage, secret baby.
Callie has just moved to Houston and is locked outside on her cousin's balcony where she is caught by her hot neighbour Owen pleasuring herself who offers his assistance. They end up having a ONS, thinking that they won't see each other again. But the next week when she walks into her new job, she realises that her new hot neighbour is also part of the team she now works on.
Will their attraction to each other lead to more? Will they get a happily ever after? This is a duet and ends on a cliffhanger.
Owen is a big cinnamon roll that cares for his sister and his nephew. Unfortunately with the paparazzi constantly following Owen and his sister and nephew are in danger being exposed because she is hiding from the baby’s daddy. Callie, having escaped a distressing situation, is now working as a physical therapist for the Houston Scythes Hockey team. However, she is also hiding from her ex. This delightful story offers a wide range of emotions, including comedy, drama, threats, and both happy and sad moments. The reader will have the opportunity to experience it all through the pages.
I loved this book!! Mariah Wolfe is a new to me author and this book definitely didn’t disappoint! I loved the tension, the fake relationship with real feelings and all the other thing that kept my interest. This was an awesome read and I highly recommend if anything I’ve mentioned is your jam.
I’m off to download Puck Princess (the next book). Yup, it’s that great and I’m super excited to know the second book is out and available. ❤️
I instantly loved these two! I couldn't put this book down and read it in a day! Owen and Callie had the best meet cute! I was laughing so hard. A great combination of humor, suspense, drama and steam. These two are off the charts. Both have strong firey personalities and a magnetic pull they can't keep away. My favorite so far! Can't wait for the next one!

A great start to this series Houston Scythes Hockey. The author gives us characters that you get invested with. The chemistry between Callie and Owen is steamy. They have a one night stand and Callie is left pregnant. This is their journey of coming to terms with it. The story will hold your attention all the way through. I am looking forward to reading the next installment.
I absolutely loved Puck Prince by Mariah Wolfe. Huge hockey fan here so I am always excited to read a steamy hockey romance. Owen and Callie's story had me hooked the moment she got locked out of her cousin's apartment. One explosive night should have been the end of it but fate had other ideas when Callie learns Owen plays for the Houston Scythes hockey team and she is the team physical therapist. Definitely recommend.
Puck Prince is a good, and enjoyable hockey fake marriage secret baby enemies to lovers romantic suspense read. The story has a great entertaining world building story line. The characters are great, and they have great chemistry. This story is a very entertaining action packed page turning romance read that ends with a cliffhanger that will have you jumping in to second story in the series.

OMG this was a fantastic story. It was a steamy page turner and the suspense was intense. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t even imagine of putting it down. Callie and Owen chemistry was spicy like fireworks of passion. The physical attraction was sizzling hot of love and romance. Could he be tamed will he be one woman man. They couldn’t fight the temptation that will ignite spark in their hearts. I definitely recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed. I received advance copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion. Trina Jones

Callie and Owen have a long story. From strangers to lovers to enemies to lovers, it's complicated. But it's also full of steam and love, secrets and betrayals, touches of drama and so much more. Also with great between characters. Love the ending into book 2...

Owen & Callie: Book 1 of Houston Scythes Hockey Duet: Enemies to lovers/ fake relationship/ secret pregnancy/ workplace/ hockey romance: I always enjoy reading Mariah Wolfe’s duets. Plenty of romance, drama, and suspense. Can’t wait to finish it off with book 2!.

Owen and Callie meet and hit if off so end up spending the night together. When he needs a fake girlfriend to help fix his image, he knows she's the perfect choice. The only problem is that their fake feelings don't feel so fake. What happens when their fake relationship start to feel very real? Can something that started off fake turn into so much more?
What an emotional rollercoaster! Sparks fly from the beginning between Owen and Callie…a little bit of lust and a little bit of hate. There’s just so much packed into this first book that it’s hard to imagine there’s more. But lots of bombs are dropped at the end that will leave you reeling. 5 stars!!.

I liked this book but my issue was that she saw her best friend dancing with the person who sexually assaulted her and instead of warning her friend who she was dancing with she ran away. She was scared to go back to their apartment because she thought her friend would unknowingly take her rapist back to their place for a one night stand What a terrible friend. I’d never speak to her again.
While I liked this storyline, it was at times hard to get through this book. Callie and Owen have good chemistry but at times it was hard to see that through their bickering. I think there were a few things that could have been meshed out a little better/cleaner for the story to flow a little better.
I honestly didn’t know what to expect with the story. This is a first for me by this author. And I absolutely enjoyed it and I cannot wait for the second installment. Definitely a lot of twist and turns. There were things that I thought were one thing but turned out to be completely different so it’s definitely an enjoyable read.
