The Faun ... The Monster ... The Kneeling Woman ... The Temptress ...
Miles from the nearest road is a house full of terrible secrets... terrible things. Each terrible thing has a journey for those who dare to come. Pleasure and pain and torment that challenge the flesh and the soul.
Closer is a horror novella with scenes some readers might find disturbing. Consider this a trigger warning for everything.
A quick horror read. Delve into the minds of the haunted and you will become at one with them…quite literally 🤣
Ash has an uncanny knack of drawing you into his horrors and keeping you there until you are spirited away. His style of writing means he sets an eerie pace throughout without actually giving you too much.
Closer by Ash Ericmore Closer follows three siblings Luke, Danny and Sugar who have had a heard time of life but always stuck together. In an attempt at a new life together they rob a post office and get away clean until their car acts up. Pulling off onto the first track they see to hide their car they are lucky enough to find an house, an abandoned house. Feeling that they got luck they decide to stay the night and head out in the morning. Once they get into the house though, and outside of it, creepy horrific things start happening and it tests each of the siblings to their very core. This spine tingling supernatural horror was just what I needed. As my first supernatural theme I absolutely loved it and was able to follow along. I had so much fun getting to know these three siblings, my palms were sweaty while reading on the edge of my seat. Ash Ericmore writes horror that sticks with you, sneaking into your nightmares. He will have you questioning your own reality. Without giving a spoiler the ending was perfect, I can see me reading this book again.
Three siblings rob a bank to try and make their lives a little bit better financially, but while on the run, they decide to hide in an abandoned house in the middle of the forest. But of course, this was no ordinary house.
This haunted house story was surprisingly enjoyable and I loved the unsettling experiences that each character experienced. I was genuinely left uncomfortable at some points. However, I did find some moments a little confusing and I got lost one too many times. It came together very well and the ending I thoroughly enjoyed. I would have enjoyed if it was a little bit longer with some more explanation around our 'entities' and what came of two of the siblings.
This fell a little flat for me. I think with more to it this could've been proper terrifying. That creature genuinely sounded like something that could freak me out. It wasn't bad though! The writing is, as always, great and did give off an eerie vibe. So it's also very possible it was just me who wanted more from this.
Three siblings rob a small village post office but breakdown near a deserted house, they plan to stay the night, but soon all 3 start having weird dreams and experiences, A fantastic supernatural and very creepy read.
If you go down to the woods today... you'll never be the same again!
A slow burner but things certainly get more... Intriguing towards the end, where this may not be as brutal and bloody as previous books by ash, it is still quite a head fuck in the good way 🤣😃
You feel like you're right there with the characters. This book made me uncomfortable and had me looking over my shoulder. It's another swing and a hit from Ash Ericmore!
This was an absolute cluster of a ride I mean this in the most beautiful way. I loved it. It’s a slow burn horror and it’s so worth it. I feel this was very reminiscent of a silent hill esque horror.
Danny, Luke and Sugar are running after a robbery. When the car breaks down, they move it to the nearest pathway. To their delight there seems to be an abandoned house for them to stay the night to plot what to do next. I'm not one for these sort of books but Ash is a one of a kind author that can pull off all sorts of style. An eerie, atmospheric book which makes you wonder what is bloody going on but makes you want to read on to see what happens! Towards the end I was like WHAT! Then of course he pulls a stunt where it's not all as it seems. Another brilliant release from him!
Danny, Luke and Sugar are desperate. Their getaway from conducting a small town post office robbery goes wrong, forcing them to hide out in an abandoned house in the middle of the woods.
The glimpses into the character’s backstories are dripped slowly into the narrative creating a constant reconsideration of their position and relationships. The fragmentation of their individual experiences generates a shared and disturbing level of disorientation between reader and character.
Are there extreme depictions, well yes, it’s Ash Ericmore. But this has the literary finesse of Slaughterhouse-Five that disturbs and compels you to keep reading.
The ever evolving Ericmore strikes again. A creepy and atmospheric tale. It drew me in from page one and I couldn’t put it down. A haunting story that sticks with you.
Slow burn. 📚 Took til page 50 to 60 out of 96 to really interest me. I like faster paced books. 📚This had potential to be better I think. Great plot and character building. I just wish it would been more. 📚Recommended if you don't mind a slower paced book.
