Raven loves her husband Russell and the life they’ve created over the past nineteen years with their two children. Since meeting her senior year of theology school, he’d always kept his promises. When they stood before God, vowing to forsake all others, he kept his word, and she had no reason to doubt him. When she stepped out on faith and planted Faith Covenant Church, five years ago, he was right there.
Until lately.
Lately, he’s been different. Russell says he’s not cheating, but then he calls her name. Peah. Peah is his weakness and the one he runs to. She’s the one he’ll lie to protect. She’s the one who truly has his heart. And Raven won’t contend with that.
In Forsaking All Others, will Raven and Russell’s marriage survive when the vows made before God, family, and friends no longer seem to hold the weight they once did?
Lakisha Johnson, native Memphian and author of over ten titles was born to write. She’ll tell you that “Writing didn’t find me, it’s was engraved in my spirit when I was created.” Along with being an author, she is an ordained minister, co-pastor, wife, mother and the product of a large family.
She is an avid blogger at kishasdailydevotional.com and social media poster where she utilizes her gifts to encourage others to tap into their God given talents. She won’t claim to be the best at what she does nor does she have all the answers, she is simply grateful to be used by God
After reading this I had to pause and meditate on it. The author did an AMAZING job writing this one. She has touched on a really deep issue many face and can’t see. It was well written and I love the support system in this book. When reading this book you will be able to relate to this story because it may have happened to you or someone you are close to. This is a must-read. Great job Lakisha Johnson.
This book was inspirational and emotional, Raven is a pastor married to Russell with their children thing were on and off with their love life, Raven think that his husband was cheating coming home late, falling asleep in his car and cannot explain why. The family went on a vacation to Disney World Russell went away to get his fix only to be mug by some boys. The search took them to the morgue but it was not Russell only his phone was on the dead man . The healing process with Russell and his family took over 30 days in rehap, his wife with a broken hand and children fighting at school. The church family along with Ravens family pray and intercede to get Russell and his family restore. This book remind us that addiction is a disease that can destroy families lives.
Raven and Russell’s story moved me to tears! She a pastor with a devoted husband, two kids and a supportive church. On the surface level, all seems well, but Russell is hiding a terrible secret…one that could change the dynamic of their family forever. The breakthrough comes when Raven decides to fight in the spiritual realm instead of the physical realm.
This series just keeps getting better and better. The topics are many that people shy away from. I was literally moved to tears by this installment, because I related in more ways than one. It is a true testament of faith, self-love, addiction, childhood trauma and healing. My favorite character goes to Raven’s mom and my least favorite goes to Peah.
I highly recommend that this series be included in premarital counseling. Great job @kishajohnson.

My Perception:
'Forsaking All Others: What Did You Vow?' is an engaging read addressing addiction's struggles. The author skillfully incorporates scriptures, prayers, and character development, making this story powerful and relatable. It offers hope for anyone seeking to transform their life.
This story touched me in a personal way. I finished it in four hours. Thank you Lord for speaking to me through one of my favorite Christian authors. I am a Christian and this was very realistic. I loved the Scriptures, prayers, and character development.
Pastor Lakisha, I took off one star for editing. Harper was incorrectly referred to as Hannah, and Pearl Ann was referred to as Peggy.
Although I’m not married, this book helped me in so many other ways. I thank God for the connection and direction of what I need to do. Thank you Mrs. Johnson for your style of writing because you know how to capture your audience where they are. May God continue to bless whoever to get what they need, how they need it, when they need it, and why they need it. Addiction is real, but with God, therapy, and love, all mountains can be moved!!!
The was a reason why God had more to read this book last. This story sounds just like what I was going though as a alcoholic. The only difference was I was not a pastor's wife, girlfriend of anything like that. This battle was dealt with some of so I thought. The grace of God brought more though this and so many other things that that life to me though. For me, this book hired home in so many ways. I truly truly enjoyed it
Once again I must say thank you. God has given you a great gift and I thank God that you were obedient and let him use you. I have read at l ast 9 books of yours and each and everyone has helped me tremendously. I laugh, cried, prayed, but most of all I’ve learned. Thank you again . I appreciate you. May God continue to bless you and your family.
Well I must say Lakisha's Johnson has done it again. I finished the book in a day and half. This is the last book in this series, but I hope she writes another one. Was surprised to find out that Peak was not a real person. Enjoyed this one more than all of them,, will continue to read more of her books, GODS' blessings to Lakisha.
Lakisha what a great series. This one hit home for me having a sibling dealing with the situation different P but with the same destruction. Being the eldest I was like Rowan wanting the person I knew. It's such a hard thing to see the person you love become someone nobody knows. I will use some of the techniques that were offered. Great Series 🤗🤗🤗🤗
