Well, perhaps not so very much. Unless you are orphaned and homeless and often alone; unless you’ve wandered from jungle to forest and joined up with a traveling merchant caravan; unless you stand no taller than my kneecap and have skin that smells like the bark of a cinnamon tree, you are not so very much like Ceylon.
He was a treeborn, and if you saw him you would think, “My, isn’t he a gangly little fellow! All arms and legs like branches on a tree. But oh! He does smell lovely, doesn’t he? Like Christmas.

If you found joy in the magical realms of Narnia or Middle Earth, If your kids loved The Green Ember or The Wingfeather Saga, their next obsession is sure to be The Treeborn Trilogy.
A charming and exciting tale that I pre-read to figure out which kids may enjoy it most. I think my 8 and 10 year olds will really enjoy this second book in the series! Just the right amount of danger and suspense and continuing adventure. I listened to the audiobook which was expertly read by the author (seriously think he should read more audiobooks! Great reading voice).
We really enjoyed the second book in this series. It maintained the humor and charm from the first, but added more excitement and action and focused less on world-building. The kids (11 and 9) said they liked it better than the first one. Looking forward to reading the third!
Ceylon is the second book of the Treeborn trilogy, and while I definitely enjoyed it, I think the first is still my favorite. I love the character of Feep - he is my favorite! I'm intrigued by the plot and eager to read the third one.
Even better than the first book. My kids devoured this when it first came out, and I finally had a chance to catch up with them. There's a good amount of adventure, but I appreciate that it's appropriate for all ages. The audiobook is so well done and easy to listen to!
