Being a cult leader was never the life I wanted. I was forced into it by a man who called himself my father.
For years, I spewed Dale’s twisted gospel, doing anything he asked just to keep him away from me. But now that he’s back, I refuse to play along with his game. All I need is a little help from my least favorite
Sebastian Castillo.
He’s Maine’s leading homicide detective and resident thorn in my side. But with Dale’s influence looming in every shadow, I’m going to have to spend more time with Sebastian than I ever wanted to. The tension between us is suffocating, and as much as I hate to admit it, there’s something cathartic about the darkness that clings to him like a second skin.
Trusting him feels like my only choice. I just hope it’s the right one.
Teacher by day, degenerate by night. Erin Mersey loves to write kinky, bisexual, polyamorous (why choose, reverse harem… etc.) romance novels with darker themes, diverse characters, and heart-wrenching plot twists.
When she is not writing, Erin spends her time playing video games, reading books, and hanging out with her family.
Just like the first one, Erin I swear makes this book into movies. How she does it. Only her mind knows! But man... You will be happy one minute, in love with all the characters, pissed at one, crying for another. It's like a movie you don't want to end but you need to finish it to see what happens.
And you did it again! How dare you ERIN! 😂🫣 When I tell you you fall in love with these characters and you are devoted to see what happens to them. You don't understand that until you read these books. Book one caught me in a chokehold, now I have book two in a chokehold.
And the drama that unfolds and refolds. In this book will have your jaw on the floor but that's spicy that's put into it. Give me all her books!!! 📚 This one had less spicy tho and more story. And I am not mad about it at all. This one she focuses more on a few characters from the first book that really were more in the background. Which is perfectly fine with me because I needed to know Cameron story along with Sebastian. Which both tie together. Then you have mason, Sophia and Lucien. I might have to say I enjoyed Sophia a lot more in this book. She is the mother of twins. But she's a little naughty. And I like seeing that side of her.
And Lucian I am so mad at him. And I completely loved him in the first book. But he needs to get his life back together.
And when I tell you that we have been waiting for baby lavender, or they changed her name to Rosie. Finally she has come. But the twist and turns around that had me bawling in my house. If you have ever been a pregnant woman/ mother you can so relate to what goes on in the pregnancy with Mason. And it really brought me to tears knowing that I don't have any babies anymore. For those feelings won't be there again for me.
I feel like I can just go on and on and on about this book but I really don't want to blow it for somebody else that wants to read it. Yes you do need to read "please hate me" first. Which is just as amazing as the second book.
I am not joking when I tell you that this author sucked you into all her books. Make sure you give yourself time to read all of them. Another amazing book erin. Keep then coming.
I’m fully obsessed with this messy little polycule. Please Hate Me hooked me, and PSM dragged me deeper into the chaos—and I loved every single second.
The relationships.... Complicated. The mystery... Twisted. The spice....Still sizzling. And the trauma.... Oh, it delivers.
Sebastian had me raging, Cam’s past wrecked me, and Dale? Walking red flag.
I was given the opportunity to read and review an ARC for Please Save Me (book two of The Unholy Series) by Erin Mersey. I would describe the book as a medium paced, dark (less blood and gore, more heavy topics) romantic suspense full of polyamorous why-choose goodness.
Mason ran from home in the face of tragedy and left her partners behind. Their reunion is detailed in book one, as well as the looming danger she faces. Readers were left on a cliffhanger and immediately plunged back into the story in this second installment.
**POTENTIAL SPOILERS**
I couldn't stay away, I'd liken it to binging your favorite TV drama. Our FMC is unknowingly in danger of becoming a victim to a cult attempting to bring about the "Second Coming" by impregnating women and testing them in a manner that inevitably leads to their deaths. She has two partners aware of this plot and doing all they can to thwart her falling victim to a shared fate while also exploring their connection to each other. The looming cult threat isn't the only obstacle the fmc will face either.
Dare I say I was invested? Characters I loved, I came to disilke, one's I hated, I now have a soft spot for. There were parts that had me on the edge of my seat, and I loved that s**t. Only one thing was missing, though: I am in need of retribution, Erin. Someone really deserves what's coming to them. Fingers crossed, we get it in book 3.
This book is for you if you enjoy a kinky romance with an element of suspense and gratuitous MMFFM scenes portrayed in a... mostly healthy polyamorous grouping.
Just when you think the secrets can't get any worse within the group, they absolutely do! Instead of being honest, everyone is trying to deal with their individual problems alone no matter how much it effects the rest of the group 😭
While I wasn't a fan of Sebastian in PHM, I absolutely hated him in the first half of PSM. I wanted to yank him out of the book and throttle him! But once he started to open up (FINALLY), you get to see why he is the way he is 😭 I loved the way the rest of the house began to embrace him (aside from Lucian of course 👀).
We finally get some back story on Cam, the cult, and that devil Dale. I'm so ready for someone to take him out cause whoo buddy! That guy is such a creep and master manipulator. Currently begging Erin for the next installment!
I'm gonna start with my notes.... SOphie asking Lucian to drink while hes trying to be sober. That's some fucked up shit. I waffled on Sebastian in the last book, but then at the beginning of this one he's being extra weird and unlikable and even though he claimed he didn't think Cam was a killer in the last book he's back to thinking he's a killer again... And meanwhile, they're both on the same side. Cam could easily give Seb all the info he needs to finish the job and then Mason is safe... Seb actually does NOTHING in the way of "closing this case" in this book, it's kinda wild. And my biggest peeve off was how they were all so understanding of Mason's autism and "eccentricities" but they can't be bothered to give Seb the same amount of grace.
Anyways. This book felt like it would never end. Everytime they said it had only been a month or only a week I was like "WTF really?!" I feel like 1 and 2 could have been one book and i might have been more interested in reading hte next one, but honestly I don't think I am...
Anyways... thanks for giving me the opportunity to ARC read this novel

-Age Gap -MMFFM/ Poly -Enemies to Lovers -First Person POV: Multi -Book 2
Holy shit. I have been so hyped for Please Dave Me. And let me just say it was sooo worth the wait. I loved every minute of reading this. The dynamic between them all changed in a way but most of it was for the better. I think my favourite character is still between Mason and Cameron. Mason just has a way of trapping herself with you and you almost have to love her. Cameron is just a huge teddy bear. Lucien is something else. Love him one minute, hate him the next, just to love him again and so on and so forth. Sebastian gained some love from me. His character development has been amazing to see considering I absolutely hated him in book 1. But he’s redeemed himself just a little bit. And Sophia. My gosh, Sophia. She is quite the lady. I do love her through and through. This whole book had me holding my breath. You never knew what was coming next. And boy did I ever sob for at least half of it.
I will always recommend Erin Mersey’s books, this is no different!
Oh. My. God. Did I think the first book was good? It had NOTHING on this one! So, I didn't like Sebastian in book 1 very much (who did?) but toward the end, he started to grow on me, and I'm SOOOO happy we got more of him in this one. I was kinda over Mason in this book. Yes, she has terrible trauma but who in that house doesn't? Even Sophia has issues and she's probably the most well-adjusted of the five of them. But Sebastian and Cameron? Yes, please! They were so sweet in their hate-to-love and I definitely want more about them. The cult issue is a great addition to the relationship drama and I can't wait to see how that will unfold. And Lucien? My boy, what are you doing? I swear the last 10% of the book I was like WHAAAAAT?!! NOOOOOO!!! My husband was genuinely worried about me lol Such a damned good book.
This story had a little bit of everything. Serial killers, a religious cult, polycule, and many chaotic bisexuals to boot.
I found myself liking Sebastian a bit more in this book. He's not always the Stepford wife in this sequel. I do find myself wondering about the cult and their intentions, which I hope will be wrapped in with the next book.
Thankfully, this didn't end in a cliffhanger, but there are a lot of unresolved issues. I guess I'll have to be patient and wait for the next outing.
I got the pleasure of being an ARC reader. I enjoyed this book a little more than the first one. As it's not released yet, there's still time to improve it by correcting some typos/grammatical errors. Overall, I like the book and look forward to reading the third book. If you enjoy this genre, I recommend giving it a read!
This is my second 5 STAR read of the YEAR !I mean this book had it all for me. I laughed, I CRIED , I happy cried , I kicked my feet with joy and squealed with excitement! The 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ was scrumptious and just enough. The way these characters developed throughout this book was *chefs kiss. Cam is my sweet baby boy/ daddy, Seb , I was blushing with you, Lucian , get your f*ing s**t together, Sophia is Mother, Mas is babygurl. Expect to be up all night , because you won’t be able to put this down.
Well I absolutely devoured this book! PSM had me totally gripped. I started off hating one of the characters, half way through I was annoyed at myself for starting to like him, & by the end I was fully on board! There are turns & twists which leave you on the edge of your seat. Each time you find something out about someone, it clicks into place & you understand how/why they are the way they are. It’s an absolutely brilliant piece of writing & I’m excited to see how it continues in book 3.
Every turn is laced with angst. Your heart will pound, you will cry and want to scream, but you'll be unable to put it down. Dive back into your favorite mess of a Poly family. There is so much chaos in this book that it's bound to have you begging more! With so much character growth, twists and turns, spice, and a plot that will have you hooked, this is a book your heart will be invested in!
I can’t gush about this book and series enough! Book one was great, book two even better!! I am thankful to have been an ARC reader for this book. I bawled my eyes out, I gasped out loud many times, I loved the spice and the different relationships between all the main characters. One of my favorite reads of the year.
the number of times I said omg while reading this was at least five, and it was mostly at the brothers' antics, though some were Camerons and Sophia's and once Mason's. I absolutely loved reading this book!
ok...ok. where to start? this book was fantastic. The character growth was spot on Cameron. Learning how to function with all of May's autism Sebastian grew into who he was really supposed to be. He's truly happy Lucian, 'is still kind of a d***, and Sophie will always be the mama of all of them. This book was really good. It was heartfelt, it made me cry. It made me mad. But in the end, I was happy. I can't wait for the next one.

Book 2, just as delicious as 1! Erin is phenomenal at giving you all the things you want in a smutty book and leaving you pining for the next book when it’s finished! I hated Seb in PHM, but holy cow the twists and turns that come in PSM definitely made me change my mind! The character development is fantastic!!! This series is a definite must read!
I loves the first book so going in I had high expectations that were exceed by the time I reached the end. I was unable to put it down! The spice was exquisite. Huge kudos and can’t wait for the next instalment. PS. I hate Sebastian and I say that with my whole chest.
I really enjoyed this ARC read and appreciate the opportunity.
This series is best for folks who enjoy reading emotionally heavy dark romance.
I loved getting to see the characters grow from book 1 to 2. You really get to know everyone more in this book. I especially loved seeing 2 of our MMCs show some major emotional growth. The author does a great job addressing and depicting difficult topics in an accurate and honest way. Each member of this polycule has their own struggles and strengths, and I've enjoyed reading about how that impacts their relationship.
… Just kidding, but I do feel like I need to process my emotions and maybe seek therapy after the last 10% of this book.
I love all of the characters that Erin Mersey has created. They all feel so real and so raw. Each character has so much deep trauma that they don’t feel like they can weigh the others down with their burdens. It creates such a maelstrom of emotions and changing dynamics within their family.
This book really had me feeling for Sebastian and I loved seeing how his character developed beyond just appearing to be a mindless psychopath. I really loved how Cameron was able to wear him down and get us all to see past the dark and broody exterior that Sebastian wears as armor.
The emotions in this book were at an all time high. There were several points that I was close to tears, though last 10% had me absolutely bawling like a baby. I honestly had no idea how it would all end and I have no idea what’s in store for our favorite characters next (I don’t know what to think about the epilogue!), but I will be anxiously awaiting book 3!
Please Save Me by Erin Mersey Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Tropes & Synopsis: Please Save Me is a polyamorous why choose between three men and two women, all centering around Cameron Cole. This includes FM, MM, and group scenes, some of which feature FF content. Reader decision is advised as there are strong themes of religious trauma, graphic violence, strong language, abuse, graphic sex, and BDSM. A full content warning can be found within the first few pages of the book.
The first book in the series, Please Hate Me, is required to understand the events in Please Save Me.
Thoughts: I don't even know where to begin with this book. The hook at the beginning of the book caught me. From the beginning I was into the book. Once I got out of chapter one, it really took me a while to get into the book. There is a lot of talking without dialogue, which really made it hard for me to read. I usually read a 400-500 page book in two days, but this one took me about 5 to 6 days to read. It's a very dark (without the violence and blood) romance type book. If you like this kind of book, I would definitely recommend it, but if you are just starting out or if you are a person who just dabbles in dark romance, this is not the series/book for you.
There were parts of the book I really liked -- finding out that Mason was autistic being one of them, and then there were parts that I did not like at all -- Dale and his whole role. He just creeped me out. I kept wishing Sebastian would just kill him so we could move on.
Sebastian was a real heart stealer for me. I loved the slow movement as he progressed in the book. I felt like, at the end of the book, that he was given a raw deal, but loved that he found a place with Cameron that he wasn't expecting.
And then there's Lucian. I found it interesting that he started out a great guy - so loving toward Mason, his children, and Sophia. There was rarely interaction between Cameron and Lucian, although there were references of the two being lovers, which surprised me. I was disappointed when he started with the drug use and his treatment of Mason.
Overall I gave the book four stars. I liked it, but I didn't "love" it. I think the moments that I spent reading background information or miscellaneous information really took away from the book and the storyline. The spice level was about on a 3. The characters had a lot of growth within the story.
The one thing I loved about the book the most was that after all the damage in Cameron's life and him not getting to meet any of his babies, that he did get to meet Rosie. I felt so bad for him that he ended up having to care for Rosie in the beginning by himself, however, I loved the fact that everything fell into place once it was all said and done. I really can't wait to read book 3 in the series and hope it gives more insight into Lucian.

Be right back. I need to pick my jaw off the floor.
This book is the 2nd in the unholy series. You have to ready book 1 before you can read this book. And check your triggers!
This story has it all and delivers. I may have to have my box of tissue nearby while I was reading. I was able to connect to each character and they each are able to hold their own in the story. The drama that keeps unfolding with each page turn creating foreshowing for book 3. This book we got to know Cameron's backstory more, Sebastian becoming more of his true self and bits of his backstory that plays a part of what I believe will happen in the next book, the struggles Lucian is going through. The large red flag that Dale waves around with his cunning tongue.
I love how this book is able to put you in each character's mindset to feel their feelings to connect with them. Your feeling will change with each of them as you learn about them. I now have a soft spot for Sebastian who I wasn't really vibing well with in the first book.
I was at my grandparents' house for Sunday Family Dinner when I finished reading. I was wrecked, becoming a complete mess. I had to put my kindle down and just stare into space trying to collect myself and wishing I had the 3rd book. I'm not great at waiting but for Erin. I will get on my knees and wait like a good pet so I can get my next treat that I can read.
Favorite Quotes: "When you're surviving, you're on this earth and safe. The world exists in shades of beige, and you take comfort in the lack of excitement. If nothing exciting happened, that meant nothing bad happened. I had been fine with that being my life for years. But I was sick of just surviving, I wanted to live."
"Why the f*ck is he so big. I was thankful that I was just watching the two from afar because my jaw dropped at his sheer size."
"His maroon sweatpants didn't show anything inappropriate, and for some disgusting reason, that disappointed me."
"It was the type of love wars were fought over, and stories were written for. My heart was full to bursting, and somehow, I was expected to just act normal. All she'd done was tell me she loved me, but it felt like she'd formally freed me from a curse that I thought would eventually kill me."
My Rating System: 1 star: Probably DNF - Lacks structure - Grammatical Errors - Boring characters 2 stars: Not a fan - Struggled to finish - Won't reread - Lacked personality - Lacked storyline 3 stars: Neutral - Underwhelmed - Nothing special - Like the book but we're still troubled by a few components 4 stars: Enjoyed - Concept unique - Dialogue felt real - Invested in characters - Missing cherry on top 5 stars: Creme de la creme - It's addictive - Emotional Impact - Highly Recommend - Feels like you are part of the book
Please Save Me. I had the amazing opportunity to read this book as an ARC read and this is my honest opinion!
Mason: The high school dropout turned world famous musician who secretly has autism.
Lucian: The entitled junky tattoo artist husband who feels like everything should just be handed to him.
Sophia: The Always Second Option Girl who deserves so much more that that and is actually really bad ass.
Sebastian: The genius hitman who been groomed by every person in his life and all he wanted was just to be loved and chosen as the person he really is, but this guy also needs a shit ton of therapy to unlock his childhood/adolescent trauma.
Cameron: The ex cult member/baby daddy who has probably been given the shittest hand of them all and all he wants is to be free, to be loved and to be his true self.
The first book ended with a good cliffhanger so I went into the second book expecting for shit to hit the fan. That was not delivered at all.
First, I would have like to know more about Sebastian and Sophia jobs and them working together to put it to good use against Dale. I would have also love to see Sophia not be chosen second for once. I know she is like the dominant one that’s keeps shit together but she should also been given the real opportunity to embrace her soft feminine and get pampered(unless I miss that, but I sure didn’t see it or that was never her part to be played)
Second, You can’t just drop a disability onto a person and not explain more and see how their mind interworking work. Therefore I would have love to see Mason more as a individualized person she has been portrayed as this helpless, naive of a person and I would have love to see her turn in to this beautiful powerful butterfly.
Lastly Lucian is a complete ass and truly does not deserve to be put on such a high pedestal, like dude seriously need to be put in line and not the soft semi punishments they were given out and he totally didn’t deserve all that love and support considering how he really treated everyone and how self centered he was.
Lastly the s*x scene could have been way more detailed and prolonged, the angry and sad parts felt forced and it was hard to read past those and the ended should have went out with a bang, I wanted to feel wrecked and happy and I ended the book feeling neither. All in all it was a very good read and I would love to see what the next books hold.

Sebastian the first little bit of the book still drove me absolutely insane, but by the end i grew to love him and understand why he acted so impulsively and had weird inner dialogue. He just doesn’t know how to sort his feelings correctly and i feel so terribly sorry for him. okay im going to say it i love seb🥹, but that ending!!!!!! Ummm someone needs to like disappear bc what i think might happen can absolutely not happen😠
I absolutely love Cameron still. He is by far my favorite out of the bunch. The way Cameron and Seb opened up to eachother it was so magical. They kinda are oddly perfect for eachother. Cameron’s undeniable love for everyone even someone he once disliked is just so awe worthy.
Sophia is still sophia, Though we see how she’s tough on the outside but she has demons too, however i am irritated with her that she would allow a recovering addict enjoy anything they shouldn’t be…like bad judgement call there girl
Lucien lowkey needs to get his f*cking sh*t together. I could not with him for a majority of the book bc i know he’s better than this and honestly the way he’s been treating Mason there’s just absolutely 100% no excuse. She is suppose to be your person and she’s pregnant like HELLO. Ontop of that you already have 2 more kids and 2 other partners that need you as well.
Mason. I feel like she had a lot of character growth in this book. Like yes she was still depressed and had a lot of emotions but that’s Mason and i think some of it was just hormonal. I really feel thought that she is happy with her life and that she truly feels loved for the first time. Yes there were still hiccups but give the girl a break ya know.
HOW DARE TOU OUT ME THROUGH THAT MESS😭
P.S- (Reverend Dale can not so kindly f off anytime now)
Wow! This was absolutely fantastic. My favorite thing about this was the way the relationship between Sebastian and Cameron developed. I really didn’t think I would end up rooting for Sebastian because he was just so off in the last book. So much of the reasoning for why he acts the way he does is revealed in this and it makes him so much more lovable. Cameron was absolutely perfect as always and I would do anything for him. Lucian started this off really great and then just slowly got more and more disappointing. My feelings on Sophia have remained pretty much the same as the first book, she’s fun but I don’t necessarily look forward to her scenes if that makes sense. There was a revelation about Mason that isn’t really a revelation if you were paying attention, but it definitely helped confirm my suspicions of why she acts certain ways. Juniper and Jasper were adorable in this, well Jasper was, Juniper is kind of bratty. Dale is extremely creepy and ominous and I’m not looking forward to what he has up his sleeve. Something happens near the end of this and I was like OMG NO! So just like be prepared. I can’t wait to read Please Open Me and find out what’s gonna happen to one of my favorite poly crews ever. The spice in this was incredible but the story building and the way relationships developed really made the story for me.
This book was everything I needed and more! Please Save Me is the second book in the Unholy Series by Erin Mersey and let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint. It picks up right where the first book ends and the momentum throughout the book never slows. When I say it doesnt slow, I mean I DEVOURED this book in less then 24hours! The characters continued to develop, with getting a more complex look and understanding of most of the MCs and their pasts. The dynamic shift between some of the MCs is incredible and hot, hot, hoooooooot 🥵 Getting to know more about Sebby in this book has me swooning hard for him and dont even get me started on Cam. And then there is the task of writing about the MCs trauma and past experiences (SA, e@ting d!sorder, @buse, drüg @buse, etc) Erin tackled these so eloquently, I wanted to cry. The whole book was a rollercoaster of emotions, making me feel some type of way that I can't even explain (in a good way). Then theres the spice and holy sh!t is it SPICIN! Im just gonna sit here in a cold shower for the next week to recover. The connection you get to the characters in this book is unreal and I can't wait to continue their story. Thank you Erin for allowing me the pleasure of ARC reading this, can't wait to see what you give us next!
I think I liked this book even more than the first. There’s less time introducing the characters, this book dives much deeper. I really like Cameron so I am happy to see much more of him here and learn more about his past, the cult, and Dale (creepy!). Cameron is so sweet, and it just makes me so happy that he’s finally getting everything he deserves. Mason and Lucian are a little less prominent in this book, and Sophia doesn’t fully shine yet either - but we’re getting some really intriguing glimpses into who she is, and I do love her personality, can’t wait to get more of her. Sebastian though - woah. Like I know this book focuses on Cameron, but we get a LOT of Sebastian in this one. Honestly I did not like him at all, but toward the end, some of his background and inner thoughts and demons get unveiled and I started having compassion and understanding for him. And I actually am rooting for him now! Wild. Erin Mersey does such a fantastic job getting in the characters’ heads and hearts and breathing them to life. It’s great. The spice is good, I want more Cam and Seb haha! And of course more Sophia. Can’t wait for the next book
This is the second book in the series and OMFG!!! I thought book one was flipping amazing, this right here was even better. Im so fucking hooked on this series. It's just that fucking good!! It's emotional, dark, raw, chaotic, interesting, intriguing and beautiful. It has damaged individuals.
It's a wild rollercoaster ride with twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat and heart racing. It's packed with action, drama, fame, love, passion, mystery, spice, cults , death, trauma, pregnancy, surprises , secrets and so much more.
I just couldn't for the life of me put it down, I'm itching at the bit needing the next book. The character are just truly wonderful and seeing their growth is amazing.
The storyline, characters and plot where out of this world and wonderfully written. I just can't praise this book enough. This series has me in a damn chokehold. Every time I think I've got it bam I'm wrong.
