Can two lonely, hurting people let go of the past
and take a second chance on love?

Single mom Kate Nolan has endured more than her share of trauma and loss, and now her young daughter is having adjustment issues at her new day-care facility. The five-year-old has also developed mysterious stomachaches that need attention, even if Kate would prefer not to set foot in a medical facility ever again.

Pediatrician Eric Carlson never forgot the woman in the smashed car on that icy night he stopped to assist at an accident scene. And when she brings her little girl to his office, it’s clear both mother and daughter are under severe stress.

Arranging to have his recently widowed mother take over day-care duties seems like a solution to multiple problems. Except the setup brings problems of its own. Because as Kate and Eric begin to see more of each other, sparks fly—and neither is looking for romance. But if they can both find a way to leave the past behind and open their hearts again to the gift of love, might they discover that the best is yet to be?

In this RT Book Reviews Reviewer’s Choice Award finalist, bestselling author Irene Hannon delves deep into the heart of characters yearning for love...and takes readers along on a touching journey to healing and hope.

My comments:

I really loved this book, the two main characters were likable from the start. Erick was so caring to Kate and it was lovely to see them gradually start to let go of there pasts. I felt sorry for Erick as it was clear he liked Kate early on however due to his views on marriage although he was divorced he did not feel he could give his life to anyone else while his x wife was still alive. I loved the way Kate cared for Sarah and the way she was always willing to put her needs first even if it made her uncomfortable. As usual with this Authors work this was an enjoyible story and i'm always looking out for what might be coming next.

"Eric Carlson. The man who'd saved Jack's life."

Kate Nolan's life had changed dramatically since that icy winter evening; her husband had been severely injured and in spite of the kind physician who had worked frantically to save Jack's life, he had died seven months later without ever regaining consciousness. What a coincidence that their paths would cross five years later when her daughter Sarah was experiencing chronic stomach aches, only to be seen by none other than pediatrician Dr. Eric Carlson.

Eric Carlson's life had also changed dramatically since the evening he worked feverishly to save the life of the critically injured car accident victim; Eric had lost his wife to divorce and now filled the void by working longer hours and volunteering for multiple non-profit organizations. Seeing Kate again was a jolt to his senses, but what did it mean? He had learned the hard way that medicine and marriage didn't make a good partnership.

What a wonderful reading experience! The word flow is as beautiful as the love story written between its pages, and the characters? . . . . "I needed you, and here you are".

This was my second book to read by Irene Hannon and it did not disappoint. At first I wasn't connecting how this book tied into the first in the series, but it soon became clearer to me. There was great character development and the resolution to problems of moving beyond marriages that no longer existed was very interesting. It is well-written and kept me reading.

I love Irene Shannon's Christian romances

Both had a lot to lose and a lot to gain. It was providential that they meet at such a tragic time and providential as well that they meet again.

Although books 1 and 2 are not closely tied, if you get the chance to read book 1 first, it will add to your enjoyment of book 2, especially as it has updates 5 years after book 1. Again the characters drew me in, and I wanted to keep reading.

Enjoyable read!

Enjoyable read; clean romance; easy read for when you don’t need stress, or deadly crimes. or bad language, or complicated characters, or too many characters to keep straight, etc. Thank you!!

Overcoming

Seasons of the Heart is the second of the Family Ties series. It features two people who are committed to marriages that exist anymore,, and how they arable to overcome great obstacles to be able to love one another. It is well written and I didn't want it to end.
