Goli objem je tretja knjiga kratke proze Davorina Lenka. Okvir knjige predstavlja daljše introspektivno besedilo, ki ga lahko beremo kot samostojno zgodbo, morda celo avtofikcijski (kaj pa ni avtofikcijsko?) esej ali izpoved, skratka osnova, na katero se pripenjajo pripovedi. Njihova substanca je nasilje, knjiga je namreč posvečena t. i. generaciji Columbine, ki je odraščala v času, ko je nasilje vdrlo na šolske hodnike – ne samo s pištolami, temveč tudi z nenehnim bullyingom vseh drugačnih in samosvojih. Kako iz te bolečine in travme, ki jo za vedno nosimo s sabo, še iztisniti kaj dobrega? Kaj vidimo, če pogledamo v cev pištole? In kaj vse je lahko zgodba, morda obračun ali pomiritev s samim sabo? About the author

Davorin Lenko is a Slovene writer, poet and playwright. He studied comparative literature at Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana where he graduated in 2012. He is the author of five books of prose. In 2014, he received the Kresnik Award for the best novel of the year for Telesa v temi (Bodies in the Dark) as well as the Critic’s Choice Award. The novel was also translated into German by the Slovene Writers’ Association. His 2016 collection of short stories Postopoma zapuščati Misantropolis (Gradually Leaving Misantropolis) was nominated for the Novo Mesto Short award. In 2017 he published the novel Bela pritlikavka (White Dwarf) and in 2019, the monodrama Psiho (Psycho), for which Lenko wrote the script, was staged in Ljubljana. In 2020 he published his fourth book, Psihoporn (Psychoporn), a collection of short stories, written entirely in dialogues. Psihoporn was shortlisted for the 2021 EUPL award. In 2021 he published his third novel Triger (Trigger) that was shortlisted for Kresnik award. In 2023 he published his first poetry collection Razpoke (The Cracks) and a biography of Slovene director, actor and humorist, Boris Kobal, entitled 100 km (100 Kilometers).

Po Trigerju sem težko pričakovala to knjigo. Komaj čakala, da jo lahko preberem in se hkrati bala, da ne bo pustila istega učinka.
K sreči ga ni.
Med branjem me je zaklenila v neudobne poze kot že dolgo nobena druga.

To je trikrat podčrtano priporočilo, ki ga je treba vzeti z rezervo. Konec koncev me je nazadnje v branje tako prikoval prav Triger.
Zato res upam, da ne gre, kot se na deloma retrospektivno vsebino zdi, za Konec, marveč le navaden (eden izmed mnogih) konec.

Disclaimer: tole je prvi afektni izliv. Zapisan tik po branju. Okužen s čustvovanjem in polno glavo vprašnj. Vmesni odzivi so bili drugačni in ko se bom jutri s kom pogovarjala o knjigi bom povedala nekaj tretjega, pojutrišnjem četrtega in tako naprej. Prav zato mi ta knjiga DELA kar imajo knjige za delat.

Že dolgo nisem brala knjige, ob kateri bi mi bilo tako nelagodno. Boleče realen psihološki razrez naše narcisoidne, sadistične, z nasiljem in užitkom obsedene družbe.

Well the thing about this book is...it's really an unhealthy book. There is so much hate and weakness and skill in this book, it reminds me of Lizst etudas. You could learn from this book, if your job is a antropologic scholar. There is not a lot of books that are trying mostly to explain that liberal lonely man who can find his sexuality in weapons....is a normal pervert. And a woman, who finds her sexuality in weapons, is a scorpio. In fact proving that sexual tool has no violence is almost a life challenge.
But the author has a different agenda. He is trying to make generational trauma his own. American culture of school shootings is spreading and Bowling for Columbine was in fact a short documentary of a social squalor. So i do not understand fully why should be interact with Columbine story. Ukraine has a completely different problems about violence. But still this is mostly a story about adolescence and so it's dangerously near the similary named Netflix miniseries. So I found it a disturbing read but a courageous attempt to translate human patologies in all sorts of cultures.
This is not an original story. But 3 stories are mostly great. And as a collection as a whole, book works.
