Wow! This is an incredible slow-burn romance story that I devoured.
What I love about this book is that it's not just about two people falling in love, but also about a reckless rockstar maturing and becoming a father that this innocent baby girl desperately needs.
The love Zac has for his daughter is beautiful and literally made my heart melt.
Jason Handler masterfully wove together a phenomenal story of two unlikely people (Jade & Zac) falling for each other in a beautiful way. There was plenty of drama and twists and turns, which I loved. And the music written for this book is amazing - there's even a whole album on Apple Music from this book.
Oh! And the spice was spicing🔥🔥🔥🔥.

As someone who usually stays firmly in the thriller and horror lane, I like to take the occasional detour into other genres to cleanse my palette and honestly, this book turned out to be the absolute perfect palate cleanser.
If you’re looking for a fresh, engaging romance, this is definitely one to add to your reading list.
What Made It Work for Me
1.You Feel Like an Invisible Observer
-The narrative style and delivery in this book are top-tier. Reading it felt like being a silent spirit floating in the room,you can physically see the scenes unfolding and hear every single word the characters say. It wraps you up in the story completely.
2. Fast-Paced and Focused
-I really appreciated that the writing wasn't bogged down by overly heavy, unnecessary descriptions. It stays lean, engaging, and focused straight on the plot and character dynamics without dragging its feet.
3.Distinct Character Voices
-Something super impressive (especially given that the author is a man writing from different angles) is how distinct every character feels. You can instantly tell who is talking, the male and female tones are so well-differentiated that everyone’s unique personality shines right off the page.
4. Male Vulnerability Done Right
-I loved how the author handled our male lead, Zac. Instead of leaning into the tired "macho man who never shows emotion" trope, the author lets Zac be unapologetically human. Seeing a tough, hard-partying rockstar show genuine sadness, doubt, and raw emotional vulnerability especially when it comes to his daughter—was so refreshing.

-Look, when Zac said, "I'm gonna make you mine in every way a man can claim a woman," all I could think was, YES, PLEASE! 🥹😅 The romance delivers all the right butterfly-inducing, spicy moments you want from a book like this.
2. The Humor: It’s not just swoony, it’s genuinely funny. There’s a specific mix-up where Eric mistakes Zac for Jade’s dad, and I literally laughed out loud. The comedy balances out the heavy emotional beats so well.
3. A Punch Right in the Feelings: Prepare a few tissues, because there’s a scene where baby Penny takes her first steps and calls him "Dada." It absolutely wrecked me in the sweetest way possible.

I loved this absolutely raw and beautiful romance! I devoured this amazing book in just 2 sittings!!! I particularly enjoy all of the pop culture references the author sprinkles throughout his books! This book had me laughing out loud one minute and then crying my eyes out the next!🥹❤️

This was in one pov but I absolutely loved Zac and Jades story. You feel every emotion. It brought me to tears. The chemistry was great and it was well written.

This book was such an incredible, emotional journey! I went in expecting a fun romance but was surprised at how many emotions this book brought out in me. It was such a rollercoaster that I loved every second of.
Zac is that intense, alpha-rockstar dad who checks all the boxes—sexy, brooding, and, of course, my favorite…he falls first. Right from the beginning, I felt the tension between Zac and Jade (the nanny) was electric, and the dynamic between him as a single dad and a boss/nanny situation added even more forbidden spice. And yes, I’m a sucker for the “best friend's baby sister” trope, so this story had me hooked immediately!
But it wasn't just romance—it was an emotional ride. At times, Zac made me swoon; other times, I wanted to shake some sense into him! Just when he’d make me furious, he’d do something sweet for his daughter, and my heart would completely melt. Zac's relationship with his daughter was so beautifully written; it added so much depth to his character and made him so much more than just another rockstar hero.
And that twist toward the end with his daughter—absolutely broke me. I didn't see it coming, and it shattered my heart in the best way possible. It’s one of those moments that reminds you why we love stories so much, for those deep, heartbreaking surprises that make it all the more real and memorable. I even dm'd Jason and was like "𝘞𝘩𝘺? 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘦 𝘤𝘳𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘱𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘤 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵." It was that emotional for me.

You know when an author comes out and you just sit there and think, “Man. That book is his best book yet.” That’s how it is for me with Mr. Handler. Jason knows how to write, and he just keeps getting better and better. If you’re looking for an author who can make you feel all the things, then you need to give this one a try.
This book is no different. It’s his best book yet, and my only regret about reading it is that it’s fiction. It feels so incredibly real. It’s raw. The emotion of the book is so intense. This author is so good at bringing those feelings to the surface, and as usual, I’ve never wanted to smack, kiss, drool over, and scream at any fictional character all while telling him I love him more that I want to do that with any character Jason Handler writes.
I’m in love with Zac Fulton, the MC in this book. Jade is his perfect match. The spicy scenes are off the charts. The chemistry is in another stratosphere completely. But that’s not the only relationship we need to discuss.
Zac is a newly single dad and his “Pretty Baby” is named Penny, a new infant who is left by his ex on his doorstep who changes Zac’s entire life. Between Penny and Jade, Zac, a famous rockstar in need of new material for his new album, really starts to dig deep within himself to not only come up with his best music yet, but also to try and become a better man.
This book is worth an infinity number of stars, as are all of Jason Handler’s other books. It’s a high recommend from me.

the book entertaining, engaging, through the page-turner. the romance as wonderful, pleasant, and captivating. appreciate the well-developed characters and Attractions and quarrels, then reconciliation and great love between Zach & Jad. the writing quality as witty, smart, and eloquent. the storyline is slow burning -paced from beginning to end and interesting to follow.
This was a very good story, it made me sad, mad, and Curse a time or two..DAMN you will express a lot of deferent feelings while reading Zach story
Again the Storyline was great and characters were fabulous. This was not my typical kind of book but I'm glad that I had the chance to read it

I thoroughly enjoyed this read and quite literally couldn’t put it down. I laughed out loud through Zac learning how to be a dad, I got so mad at him for not getting his act together and I cheered Jade on as she didn’t let him get away with BS.
This was such a fun read—my first of Jason’s and I cant wait to read more!

Jason the amazing author that you are!!
This was a frustratingly engaging rollercoaster of emotions..... I could not put it down.
I absolutely loved Jade, on the other hand I honestly cursed Zac a few times but again the small sweet moments he has are soooo endearing and cute so he redeems himself......
This was definitely a quick read considering the tropes (which i loved btw),
for me single dad romances are kinda on the heavier side so it's really hard to get into sometimes, but i really liked this one and it was sweet to see Zac struggle and grow throughout his journey of suddenly finding out he is a dad and to actually take up the responsibility to be a good one.
I absolutely recommend reading this one.

Where do I start? I need more of this. I wanted to slap, curse, and take Zac out more than a few times, but he was worth it. I love Zac and Jade so much. Jade was a breath of fresh air. I never knew I wanted an age gap like I wanted this one. Zac did make me melt a few times with his sweetness towards his daughter. Then he had me all swooning with his steamyness. This book is my favorite from this author. I need him to do more age-gap books. And the songs in this book are amazing. I would recommend this to anyone.

This rockstar romance is packed full of emotional and character growth. Learning you're a father by finding your baby girl on your doorstep is incredibly trying. But with the help of amazing supportive friends, a quick love and bond is formed.
Our MC finds emotions are stirring for his best friends sister, who has been a savior, helping him adjust to fatherhood. But his ex comes back in the picture to stir up trouble!
Lots of highs and lows in this one. But such a sweet, sweet ending 😍 kudos to Mr. Handler for a well thought out love story with many layers!

This book will make you feel EVERY emotion. It's raw. It's beautiful. It's perfect. The author also came out with an entire album to help immerse you in the story. Pretty baby has the best character development, the romance was beautiful. I can't say enough how great this book is. You won't regret reading this book

Favorite book by this author so far! Love the title and the cover. The authenticity and emotion infused in the characters and storyline are inspiring. Love single dad romances, and the rockstar trope is done incredibly well. This slow burn keeps you turning the pages, and the MMC’s sweet daughter is a scene stealer! Definitely want to reread this one, and I hardly ever reread books. One of my favorite romance authors now!!

I love a good slow burn! Zac’s character is endearing & sweet. Who doesn’t love a hot single dad? The chemistry between Zac & Jade is sooo sexy.
Zac trying to adjust to fatherhood with Jade’s help was entertaining to say the least. I really love how raw and emotional the experience is portrayed in the writing. Great writing mixed with beautiful lyrics.

My typical reads are dark and depraved, but I do like to take a moment and enjoy the light side of romance. Pretty Baby by Jason Handler was the perfect slow burn, sexy rockstar romance I was looking for. Character development is well written as we meet Zac the wild lifestyle loving rockstar, whose life is upended when unexpected events force his life to change. His evolution throughout the story gives so many volatile feelings. At one moment you’ll adore him and the next want to punch him in the face. I really like Jade. I mean who doesn’t enjoy an age gap, forbidden best friend’s sister as part of the dynamic. As the story unfolds we get more of her personality and backstory that makes their undeniable chemistry even more sexy. She does an amazing job helping Zac with his new life responsibilities and he evolves to become a better man to have the family he never realized he wanted. This story is full of raw emotion, dramatic highs, lows and heartfelt passion. Definitely recommend this one.
