Adversaries become friends and friends become lovers.
Kori Griffin has always lived her life according to expectations thrust on her by others, until she gets fed up and decides to play the game by her own rules. She quickly discovers, however, that being the architect of your own destiny is easier said than done.
While doing the necessary to ensure she is able to provide for herself, she’s thrust into the path of the most unlikely person, Ezren Shaw—the superstar, lover boy crooner known as Eccentric to his adoring fans.
Though drawn to her physically, Ezren is disinterested in anything else Kori has to offer. To him, women are simply muses to fuel his creativity. Quickly and quietly, however, Kori works her way under Ezren’s skin, much to his dismay, and he is forced to come to terms with what exactly that means for his life going forward.

Since publishing her first novel in 2015 Mills has solidified her literary career by writing beautifully flawed characters and realistic, edgy stories displaying love in all shades of brown. She lives in Atlanta, Georgia and can be found online at theauthorkcmills.com.
Kori has been late on her rent one time too many and the eviction notice she’s known was coming has finally made its way to her door. But, there is a dim light at the end of a very translucent rainbow. Good news is, Kori just got hired on with Elite Cleaners and was fortunate to land a high profile celebrity as her first client. Bad news is, pay day is two weeks away and, not only is she broke but she’s homeless. Once again, luck was on Kori’s side. Her client will be out of town for the next week leaving his house vacant. So, she makes the rash decision to squat in his home until he returns. What could possibly go wrong?!!!
Ezren, or Eccentric as his female fans calls him, is finally back stateside after a two month European tour and he’s ready to enjoy some down time. He just wants to sleep in his own bed, eat some of his mama’s cookin’, and enjoy some much needed uninterrupted peace and quiet. Imagine his surprise when he pulls up to his brand spankin’ new house he’s never even step foot in to find a naked woman in his tub murdering a Whitney Houston classic. What’s a guy to do when he finds a naked stranger invading his space? Make her his muse of course. I loved Kori and Ezren and I loved their angst free love story but, as a whole Beautiful Noise fell flat for me. Other than Kori’s issues with her parents, there was no excitement or stand out OMG moments. If I’m keepin’ it a buck, the book was low key boring. The author eluded to a book two on Leijah and IMO, we don’t need a book on her. That character didn’t stand out enough for us to want to know her story. What we got here was enough. Beautiful Noise was a decent enough read but, not as enjoyable as I hoped.
You all, I was perplexed by the synopsis because the author can write in various genres. This piece of art was masterfully written. The love story dripped with sensual energy as well as BDE. Ezren was not joking about his intentions for Kori. Kori was a good girl down on her luck when she volleyed into Eccentrics life... Sidenote - His mother was a whole trip. I liked her and her perseceptive eyes. I loved this storyline and the love story, and I was 100% satisfied.
This was a feel good book. I LOVED it from the beginning to the end. Thank you for your beautiful words and all of your hard work. Y'all just read the damn book.
Kori + Ezren 🩷 This was a beautiful story centered around true love and trust.
My girl Kori experienced the worst possible situation within the first few pages. But what I admired about her the most was her determination to work, create, and change her living situation. She kept true to who she was and stood her ground with her very vile parents and their dreams for her and decided to live her own life. I will respect that every time. But in doing so, she built steel walls around herself as protection. Which is hard for a free spirit like Kori. Life was life-ing and my girl decided to live out of her car. Then here comes an angel in disguise by the name of Gwendolyn Shaw with solutions. Yall thought it was going to be Ezren? Not so much.
Ezren "Eccentric" Shaw is a famous R&B singer who swoons the ladies and has no problem hiding it. Everything within Ezren gives "playboy" until he meets Kori in the wildest meet cute ever ☺️😏 Kori shifts Ezren's entire atmosphere and has him doing, thinking, and planning things he never thought about with someone else.
I'm here for all things Kori and Ezren. I love how he encouraged her to share her words with the world and worked for what he wanted with her. I loved how protective he was over her with her parents. That is a man.👏🏾 K.C's authors note gave me hope that we will see them again soon in the future and I am crossing my fingers that we do because I want more of these two!🤞🏾🩷 ✨Forced Proximity ✨Low Drama ✨Cinderella Vibes - let me know if you felt this too!
If you recognize that headline you’re in the right place! This story was passionate and without all of the “extra” that has seemingly taken over urban fiction. It’s romantic and the writing flows at a pace that will give you all the feels.
Kori is in her 20’s trying to find her way. She has the talent but lacks self confidence due to parental expectations. Sometimes all it takes is someone to help guide the light that is already inside you and for Kori, an unfortunate circumstance leads her to the guide she needs.
Ezren is a man and will be quickly deemed a book bae. He appears to have it all together but hasn’t found a woman to inspire him outside of the bedroom. But when it happens for him, he’s all in. He doesn’t need outside persuasion. He pursues and elevates.
This was a beautiful read and I look forward to exploring more of the author’s catalog. For Lei’s book I would like to see the author not shorten the intimacy between the characters. Really dig deep and not make it your typical R&B singers love story.
Imagine landing a new job, only to find yourself locked out of your home. That's Kori Griffin's reality, pushing her to seek shelter in the very house she's tasked with cleaning. Enter Ezren “Eccentric” Shaw, an R&B sensation whose unexpected encounter with Kori becomes a catalyst for change in both their lives.
Ezren quickly became one of my top book bae's this year, with his protective nature and heartwarming affection for Kori. Watching his character develop is a true highlight, and KC Mills weaves this transformation beautifully. Gwendolyn plays the perfect supporting role, nudging both protagonists toward growth. However, Kori's parents? Let's just say they're not winning any parenting awards in my book!
This story is a delightful exploration of love, resilience, and personal growth. If you're looking for a compelling read that will leave you swooning and rooting for the characters,
The cadence of this book was awkward to me, and the initial banter was childish and weird because the person who needed the most came off as rude and entitled. Like how are you in this rich world known musicians house telling him what food he can't eat!? Girl, BYE! Then they just fell in love and it was them against the world. I can appreciate the protective nature they developed for each other and the "for the right one a person can and will change" agenda, but this book with Ezren and Kori as characters didn't wow me or make me fall in love with them or their story. It was an easy but decent read at best.
I absolutely loved Kori and Ezren's journey to happiness despite the obstacles in the way. Poor Kori found herself homeless until her cleaning job led her to famous musician's Ezren's mother. I really liked her. She was the complete opposite of Kori's selfish and controlling parents.
It was fascinating to watch Kori and Ezren work through the crazy music industry which finally revealed exactly what Kori should be doing with the rest of her life!
This captivating book goes on the Read Again Pile!!!!
So Beautiful Noise gave me all the feels! I was so connected to the way he allowed himself to fall in love. So beautiful and sexy. Standout characters, smart dialogue, fantasy, and low drama. Just two people falling in love! Him first!!!!! Such a good read. Also shout out to a black man depicted in truth.... loving his Dad.
Sooooooooo where y’all want me to begin when it comes to this incredibly beautiful story. Ezren was everything Kori never knew she was missing. Ezren filled, poured, and spoke so much into Kori it was beautifully suffocating. The way these 2 people come together is unconventional yet so refreshing. I don’t think I’ve read about a man who could uplift, push, and want so much for someone that he only wanted the world to see what he saw.
Kori was such a beautiful soul and light. She kept the faith even when everything was going against her. She had crappy ass parents. She was in a bind, but she bounced back. If nothing else she was a fighter. She pushed through even when she couldn’t see a way. Ezren coming along only made her do better and be better. That man wasn’t coming up off her and the way he protected her in every aspect. MY GAWD!!!!!
Ezren was EVERYTHING. They were everything. This story shows patience, kindness, the will to exist together, passion, love, a muse, wholeness, completion, and steamy sex. Mrs. Mills did her BIG one with a Beautiful Noise and it gave me everything I didn’t know I needed with this story. I got love, laughs, a few sprinkle of tears, swooning oh the way I swooned and smiled. This is a book that gives you all the feels and vibes.
To the girlies who LOVE love, Mrs. Mills wrote this for US. A Beautiful Noise is a truly encompassing love story between 2 souls who needed love, healing, and each other. This is a 5 star MUST read.
Okay Mama Gwendolyn with the assist 👏🏾 😅 She knew they would be exactly what each other needed.
Kori didn’t know what she wanted to do with her life she’s still young and trying to find her way. Ezren gave her the confidence that she needed to believe in herself. She gave him something no other woman has ever done she inspired him outside of the bedroom.
Their journey was simply beautiful. I loved how they just existed together and how he wanted to protect her from any and every body including her parents. I really hate to see them go 😩
I’m a sucker for a cute fluffy love story and this was exactly that. I loved every moment of it ! Kori and Ezren 🥰!!!! I really loved his mom! She was a blessing that Kori Needed! Kori was the blessing Ezren needed! My heart truly went out to him . He was not the relationship type but Kori changed all that. Prime example of when it comes to the right woman there’s nothing that will stop that man from stepping up and being the man he need to be! Something about her made all his walls come down!
This was an enjoyable quick read with a few swoony scenes.i liked Ezren and Kori. Kori being wary was very realistic and I’m glad she was initially careful. Ezren made his intentions clear and kept to his word! I really liked E’s mum😂
Kori Griffin has always lived life according to what her parents wanted her to do. Her parents wanted her to follow their footsteps into the education field, however after graduation and it became to deliver on that promise, she couldn’t. She for once admitted to the truth of not wanting to have an education in education. Not knowing exactly what she wanted to do, she brought this to her parents attention and was given an ultimatum. For over a year Kori was left fending for herself without any support from her parents. She got a job at an elite cleaning company. The day of taking on one of her jobs she was evicted. Since her client was out of time for a couple days, Kori thought it was a bright idea to squat in his home until she arrived. However, his mother came in to check on the house and busted her. After hearing Kori’ story she gives Kori and ultimatum. Help her out around her son’s home until she could figure out life. She later finds out that her son is Singer Ezren “Eccentric” Shaw. The two start out not liking each other but it quickly does a 180. I enjoyed this story and there were plenty of conversation points made in this story.
This is a wonderfully sweet love story between Kori and Eccentric. Eccentric is a well known and well loved R & B singer. When Kori meets him she’s homeless and cleaning his house. His mother works it out so that she can live in the house while cleaning it.
Of course they’re drawn to each other and start a relationship. The book is about their developing relationship, how it changes them both. It’s also about Kori finding her purpose and growing into it.
It’s a sweet symphonic love story that I borrowed from Kindle Unlimited.
Get you a man who don't play about you! Ugh this was such a lite and airy love, I loved every minute of it and was not ready for it to end. Kori ushered Ezren right into his evolution and in return he changed her life for the better. Ezren's mom, chef's kiss...middle fingers to both of Kori's parents.
This was a decent story but what kind of got on my nerves was Kori and her lack of confidence in herself and the position that Ezren wanted her to have in his life. Also, her having more of a concern of what the public thought than what the man she was with thought. The story had a decent progression and I enjoyed the character development.
"Beautiful Noise" by K.C. Mills Star Rating: 5 Stars Genre: Romance Published Date: 11.14.24 Pages: 272 Troupes: He Falls First, Found Family, Friends to Lovers, Forced Proximity, Millionaire Romance, Right Place Right Time Spice Level: 2.5 chili's (Perfect spice level for an amazing love story) Reading format used: Kindle e-book
First and foremost, I will start by saying that this is going down as one of the best love stories I have read in 2024. I don't know if anyone else got Cinderella vibes? I was rooting for Kori from the first paragraph.
The book begins with Kori having a tough go at life while she is navigating losing her apartment, her boyfriend cheating on her, and not having a good relationship with her parents. She has nowhere to go yet she lands a cleaning job at Elite. She is assigned her first job to clean a mansion for a big-time singer yet, she has no idea whose home it is. Now this is where my favorite part in the book happens so I will not spoil it for you... (You're welcome because I really want to share lol)
The start of Kori's new job is the beginning of her happy ever after and she has no clue. Imagine you are destined for greatness but all you see is sorrow and roadblocks. I just wanted to wrap my arms around her and tell her to just wait on it. The joy she gets from the little things shows a glimpse into how gentle and humble she really is.
Now finally who y'all really want to know about, Ezren. Baby, from the time he entered the picture I was praying for God to send me an Ezren 2.0 lol. Ezren starts off with this sworn off relationships attitude. He doesn't do relationships; he just sleeps with women and uses those experiences as his inspiration. He has never fell in love until he meets Kori. She is just his type yet something he has never had before. He falls and he falls fast. The level in which this man believes in her and has her back, had me kicking my feet and hollering "I know that's right".
The character development from these two were top tier. This book also covers grief in the most beautiful way. You would swear they were two different people by the end of the book. Their love for one another is what sparked their growth. I love how they didn't even realize they were falling in love. It was truly effortless and almost fated (soulmates). Once he fell for her, he was not going to play about her. This man was willing to pull up on her mother if need be lol. I was cackling and choosing violence at the same time. Needless to say, this book had me in my feelings. ALL THE FEELINGS.
I can go on and on about these two and the other characters in the book that I loved like Gwendolyn, Leijah, and Clay. Trust me there were characters that I could not stand too like Chantel, the Griffins, and Shalay. I would have caught a case, IYKYK.
This book was so beautiful that I pray that one day it is adapted into a movie. Like seriously, it's that good. It's that kind of love that will make anyone weak. The kind that we yearn for while we all are on our own journey to find our HEA, or to keep it together. Amazing job K.C. Mills. I know it's too soon to ask for book 2... I am just so interested in Clay and where things end up for Lei. This is a must read.
Wow, I really liked this story. Great writing! Loved the chemistry between Ezren and Kori. have been reading books by KC Mills for years and this is one of the first non urban fiction books I truly enjoyed. Great job KC Mills.
3⭐️ “You are. My perfect. My muse. The only one I’ll ever f*cking need.” ❤️
Tropes Black love R&B superstar x Cleaner turned roommate FMC down on her luck He falls first
First things first .. this cover is beautiful and I wish it was available in paper back so I could have it in my shelf for that reason alone. This was a quick read. I liked Ezren. He was caring, passionate, protective, and wanted to take care of Kori and give her the world. His mother was cool too. It took me a minute to warmed up to Kori, mainly because of her attitude towards him in the beginning.. as if SHE wasn’t in HIS house. But I grew to like her character. She was trying to make it with the cards she was dealt. Over all, this was a cute read. You could feel their connection and passion, and I loved the song he wrote for her, but something was still missing from the overall story for me. There was no big/romantic love declaration from either of them. We jump straight him saying she’s his everything and the women he loves, and she gets his name tattooed.. I also wish there was more of an overall wrap up for them, engagement/marriage/kids etc.
Love me some Ms. Gwendolyn, she seemed like a cool parent, with world wide wisdom. Didn’t care for Kori’s disrespect of her parents, especially how she left their home the first time. Then,to be so highly educated, the only job that she could find was a house cleaner! She could have met Ezren at the restaurant, while working as a waitress, even a bottle girl at a club or as a receptionist at his favorite hotel! I’ve been a fan of Ms.Mills for quite sometime and her work is always intricate,.but this narrative for Kori’s character didn’t seem believable,in my opinion. Yes,I understand the entire meetup,,boss selling her out,she getting leverage and all,but she could’ve met Ms.Gwendolyn at Sal’s butcher shop! Not sure what to make of Ezren,he came across as immature and self absorbed,To be thirty two and not have a real relationship with! Perhaps he and Kori are good for each other.
Still five ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ .No grammatical errors. No taking the Lord’s name in vain ,Ms.Mills was raised right 😍
