I really enjoyed this one. I thought the plot was fun and the characters were, as always, wonderful. I was aprehensive because the previous book in this series wasn't as good as the first two but this one is back as strong as those were in my opinion.

I collect versions of “A Christmas Carol” so bought this book in a half price sale to add to my collection.
While it isn’t a version of the story assuch, it has a couple of the characters and a few quotes from the Dickens story in but is a completely new story in itself based around Scrooge escaping from The book and putting Christmas in Jeopardy.
I think it would be a wonderful book for the target audience and tbh, despite it being a different story to what I thought and me being quite a few years past the target age, I enjoyed it too.
While it isn’t a version of the story assuch, it has a couple of the characters and a few quotes from the Dickens story in but is a completely new story in itself based around Scrooge escaping from The book and putting Christmas in Jeopardy.

Wer sich nicht in dieser fantastischen Weihnachtsgeschichte verliert und sich fühlt, als würde er nach Hause kommen, dem kann ich nur zurufen: Humbug! Denn dieses Buch hat alles, was es braucht, um das Herz eines jeden Lesers zu rühren und zu bewegen - ob alt oder jung. Ich würde gerne einen Tag im Kopf von Tom Fletcher verbringen, denn seine Vorstellungskraft scheint grenzenlos zu sein. Die Seiten stecken voller Ideen, Fantasie und Magie. Ich habe wirklich jede Seite dieses Abenteuers innig geliebt und kann euch die Abenteuer des Weihnachtosaurus nur herzlichst empfehlen. Hoffentlich ist seine Geschichte noch nicht vorbei und wir bekommen noch mehr Lesestoff. Auch, wenn das bedeutet, dass Weihnachten erneut in Gefahr geraten muss. Jedoch bin ich mir sicher und ich habe tiefes Vertrauen, dass die Weihnachtsbande, um William, den Weihnachtsmann und den Weihnachtosaurus, alles wieder ins Lot bringen wird.

Should I have guessed from the title that this was a loose retelling of A Christmas Carol? Probably. Anyway despite the fact I'm not a fan of that story I still really enjoyed Tom Fletchers version, I mean how could I not when it includes a magical dinosaur?
The fourth instalment to the Christmasaurus series was a lovely and fun read, with brilliant illustrations that bring everything to life.
William and Co have to save Christmas after accidentally letting Scrooge out of his book.
A story of friendship, bravery and belief. Lovely.

I wanted to try one of Tom Fletcher's books for a while and I'm very glad that it was this one I picked up first. I originally picked it up thinking it would be a retelling of a Christmas carol. It sort of is in a small way.
I loved the book. It's brilliantly written, I'll definitely be picking up the others within the series. I also hadn't noticed until I started reading a couple of chapters that William was a wheelchair user. I think it's amazing that a disabled character isn't made a point of (at least at this point in the story. I don't know if it's a bigger thing within the first book). The humour within the book was also pretty good.
Finally I need to mention the illustrations. They're beautiful. Shane Devries did a fantastic job.

Tom Fletcher’s children’s books have been something of a cottage industry. It isn’t an unusual thing for a celebrity to place their name on the cover of a book and shift thousands of copies; indeed, it is so common that the books often carry the stigma of allegedly not being very good, and in some cases, not even being written by the celebrity in question. There is something wholesome in the fact, then, that Tom Fletcher’s novels bubble with the same enthusiasm and humour as their rock star author.
Fletcher, known for being a key figure in pop-rock band McFly, has written quite a few books now and they all consistently convey his personality. In particular, his series of books about the Christmasaurus, a dinosaur raised by Santa Claus at the North Pole, have been truly delightful. Across three volumes, a children’s storybook and an activity short, we have followed the adventures of the titular festive dinosaur and his best friend in the world, Will Trundle. They’ve saved Christmas every time and the books have been consistently excellent (though, I must admit to not being a huge fan of the third instalment which shifted the focus on to other characters and lost some of the momentum from the first two books).
This fourth instalment, “A Christmasaurus Carol,” sees the spectre of Ebenezer Scrooge escape from a copy of Charles Dickens’ classic Christmas tale. This is a Scrooge who hasn’t been redeemed yet, who hates Christmas, and so begins a quest to save Christmas as this gloomy Christmas-hating figure begins to infect the minds of those across the country turning everyone against the festive season.
It is a fun premise and there is a decent amount of tension and adventure throughout. Scrooge doesn’t appear until near the end of the book, proving to be a presence in the story more than a physical antagonist. There’s also a lot more focus on Will Trundle’s family life this time, with both the titular Christmasaurus and Santa Claus taking a bit of a back seat until quite a way into the book.
Still, this is great festive fun and a super snappy fast-paced read. Fletcher continues to write engaging and humorous stories for kids and when he hits the mark, he really does excel.

So macht Weihnachten Spaß! Ein echt cooles Abenteuer rund um das Fest, das Groß und Klein den Weihnachtszauber spüren lässt.
DARUM GEHT’S – UNSER KLAPPENTEXT
William ist so gar nicht in weihnachtlicher Stimmung, weil er sich etwas ganz Wichtiges nicht getraut hat. Doch er kommt gar nicht dazu, sich damit zu beschäftigen. Denn er muss sich mit Ebenezer Scrooge herumschlagen, einem alten Mann aus einer sehr berühmten Geschichte. Und der hat es darauf abgesehen, Weihnachten für immer zu vernichten!
Das können William und seine Freunde nicht zulassen – darum hohlen sie sich Hilfe vom Nordpol. Der Weihnachtsmann höchst persönlich eilt ihnen mit dem Weihnachtosaurus zu Hilfe.
Doch können sie dem Mann aufhalten, der Weihnachten für absoluten HUMBUG hält?

Bei diesem Buch hat mir eigentlich alles gefallen, aber am besten war das Ende! Die Geschichte war schön erzählt und hat Spaß gemacht – ich habe echt viel gelacht!
O ja, wir haben uns immer wieder die Bäuche gehalten vor Lachen! Tom Fletcher ist ein Autor, der wirklich gut witzig erzählen kann. Wir lieben es einfach, der Autor den echten Weihnachtszauber in seine Bücher einwebt. Wenn man den Weihnachtosaurus gelesen hat, möchte man sich am liebsten sofort um den Christbaum versammeln, mit der Familie um sich, und Weihnachtslieder singen. Uns wird beim Lesen immer ganz warm ums Herz.
Die Geschichten zeigen, was an Weihnachten wirklich wichtig ist. Wir lieben diese Bücher seit Band 1 und hoffen, dass noch weitere Bände erscheinen werden.
Allerdings wird es zwischenzeitlich auch ein wenig düster und echt spannend. Vielleicht lest Ihr das Buch lieber mit Euren Eltern zusammen, wenn Ihr schnell Angst bekommt. Dann könnt Ihr Euch an sie kuscheln und wisst genau, das alles gut wird. :)
Ein toller vierter Band, der genauso Spaß macht wie die anderen. Wir lieben einfach die Bücher vom Weihnachtosaurus, weil sie prima in Weihnachtsstimmung bringen!

Liebe Eltern,
das Buch ist mit einem Lesealter ab 8 Jahren angegeben. Da stimme ich auch zu. Die Schreibweise und lockere Art, diese Geschichte zu erzählen, sind auch für das junge Publikum geeignet.
Ihr solltet nur wissen, dass Ebenezer Scrooge darin vorkommt, was das Setting zwischenzeitlich durchaus ein wenig unheimlich und düster macht. Allerdings nicht so, dass Eure Kinder Alpträume davon bekommen könnten.
Mein Tipp ist, wie immer, das Buch entweder vorher selbst oder mit den Kindern gemeinsam zu lesen. Ihr könnt sie am besten einschätzen und wisst, ob und wie sie für diese herzenswarme Weihnachtsgeschichte bereit sind.

William ist so gar nicht in weihnachtlicher Stimmung, weil er sich etwas ganz Wichtiges nicht getraut hat. Doch er kommt gar nicht dazu, sich damit zu beschäftigen. Bei diesem Buch hat mir eigentlich alles gefallen, aber am besten war das Ende! Die Geschichte war schön erzählt und hat Spaß gemacht – ich habe echt viel gelacht!
O ja, wir haben uns immer wieder die Bäuche gehalten vor Lachen! Tom Fletcher ist ein Autor, der wirklich gut witzig erzählen kann. Wir lieben es einfach, der Autor den echten Weihnachtszauber in seine Bücher einwebt. Wenn man den Weihnachtosaurus gelesen hat, möchte man sich am liebsten sofort um den Christbaum versammeln, mit der Familie um sich, und Weihnachtslieder singen. Uns wird beim Lesen immer ganz warm ums Herz.
Die Geschichten zeigen, was an Weihnachten wirklich wichtig ist. Wir lieben diese Bücher seit Band 1 und hoffen, dass noch weitere Bände erscheinen werden.
Allerdings wird es zwischenzeitlich auch ein wenig düster und echt spannend. Vielleicht lest Ihr das Buch lieber mit Euren Eltern zusammen, wenn Ihr schnell Angst bekommt. Dann könnt Ihr Euch an sie kuscheln und wisst genau, das alles gut wird. :)
Ein toller vierter Band, der genauso Spaß macht wie die anderen. Wir lieben einfach die Bücher vom Weihnachtosaurus, weil sie prima in Weihnachtsstimmung bringen!

Liebe Eltern,
das Buch ist mit einem Lesealter ab 8 Jahren angegeben. Da stimme ich auch zu. Die Schreibweise und lockere Art, diese Geschichte zu erzählen, sind auch für das junge Publikum geeignet.
Ihr solltet nur wissen, dass Ebenezer Scrooge darin vorkommt, was das Setting zwischenzeitlich durchaus ein wenig unheimlich und düster macht. Allerdings nicht so, dass Eure Kinder Alpträume davon bekommen könnten.
Mein Tipp ist, wie immer, das Buch entweder vorher selbst oder mit den Kindern gemeinsam zu lesen. Ihr könnt sie am besten einschätzen und wisst, ob und wie sie für diese herzenswarme Weihnachtsgeschichte bereit sind.

A Christmasaurus Carol by Tom Fletcher is the newest book in the Christmasaurus series. Ebenezer Scrooge is accidentally set free and he is stealing Christmas from everywhere. William calls his friends Santa and the Christmasaurus to help save Christmas.
I am always excited when a new Christmasaurus book is published. Sadly, I did not have the time to read it during Christmastime, but we still have some snow outside, so I was good to go. Sadly, I did not enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed the others. I was never a big fan of A Christmas Carol. Usually, I was scared of all the movies, because the ghosts freaked me out and Scrooge was way to creepy for me. I believe that this is the main reason why I did not enjoy this book as much. However, I loved to be back with the Trundle and Payne family. They will get you in a Christmas spirit no matter what time of the year it is. I loved that Lucy Dungston from The Creakers appeared in the story as well!
So, I am in a bit of a festive mood now. I can highly recommend the Christmasaurus series.

Tom Fletchers has done it again another 5 star read. He makes the Christmasauras world so magical and so mesmerising that you get fully lost in the book and the story that’s happing. The illustrations are absolutely stunning and really amazing and they really bring the story to life more. I absolutely loved the whole story and the characters in this book were all so well written and they all worked well together obviously my favourite characters are William and the Christmasauras. I really enjoyed the whole Christmas carol vibe to this book as it was unique and so well told. I didn’t want the book to every end as I was enjoying it that much and was so gutted when I finished the last page. I really loved being back with these characters and the Christmasauras the best way to start my December reading. I really hope there is another Christmasaurs book in 2024 as I will be definitely reading it. Xxx

➽ The Christmasaurus is back with another adventure! These books are always so comforting and fun to read in winter. I think this might be the final book though. A Christmasaurus Carol does a bit of a crossover, as you can tell from the title. When William Trundle accidentally awakens none other than Ebenezer Scrooge from his book, Christmas is at stake.
➽ Since Scrooge hasn't yet completed his character Arc, he seeks to destroy anything festive, so he never has to change his ways. The story was a lot of fun, as we follow Will and all his friends, who try to save Christmas once more. It was nice seeing everyone coming together. Since A Christmas Carol is my favorite classic, I really enjoyed its influence on the story! I also liked that we see William struggle with the Christmas solo at school, He wants to make his father proud and sing it like he did, but completely freezes up in the rehearsal. That's what brings him to a mysterious library and accidentally causes him to let Scrooge out in the first place.

Another triumph in the Christmasaurus series! The most Christmassy family in the world the Trundles, are all ready for Christmas day when William stumbles on a mysterious book shop. There, a certain book called A Christmas Carol somehow follows him home and when William’s dad reads from it they unleash a certain Mr Ebeneezer Scrooge on the world. And we all know how much he loathes Christmas…. William has to call on Santa and his lovable blue dinosaur for help (as well as a few others) otherwise Christmas could be ‘humbugged’ for good! - Another wonderfully enjoyable book. I loved the imaginative way of incorporating A Christmas Carol into the modern day. I also liked the new characters who were introduced. And I still adore the illustrations, I think the ones of the Christmasaurus are adorable! Simply another magical read from Tom.

Love! Love! LOVE!!
This is my second favorite in this series after the first! I was worried this was going to be another Christmas carol retelling, and I wasn’t particularly excited about that, but I adore Tom Felton’s writing and the Christmasuras so I was willing to give it a go anyway.
I was DELIGHTED to find out that this was not at all another retelling and was a unique story about stories and the magic that books hold. And of course CHRISTMAS CHEER!
I love that Felton has characters from other books he’s written make cameos! This is my favorite Christmas series. I read them every year.

The illustrations make me so joyous. Shane DeVries is so talented.
The sheer creativity of each of these middle grade novels make me so happy. I really love the magic and explanations behind everything, and how Christmassy they truly are. Nothing helps me get in the mood for the season more!
I liked the themes of honesty here, and appreciating each person's talents for what they are.
And it was fun to be back with the Trundle family and the shenanigans they get up to.

It was another magical, wondrous journey with William and his family, this time around the neighbourhood to de-Scroogify (I like making up words too) people in time for Christmas. I love the creative elements built into the story, like A.S.H, S.O.S, carolling to save the day, and a certain green dumpster truck being carried across the sky by a sparkly blue dinosaur! It was lovely that Lucy and her father, Larry were included in this adventure - I can't wait to read her story now. Santa was extra cute speaking dog, wanting snacks and giving funny nicknames to Bob. I really enjoyed this read.

Having read the series so far I had expectations from this and they didn't disappoint. Even though I did start reading it before Christmas with my 13yo we only read a little a few times a week so we've only just finished it. However we absolutely love getting lost in the story every single time!
As usual it was so cosy, magical and festive with the extra atmosphere from the illustrations. Revisiting all of our favourite characters, especially the Christmasaurus himself! I loved how the story of A Christmas Carol and Ebeneezer Scrooge was tied into this as well and wrapped up nicely. The bonus content at the end was a lovely addition too!
