Slay All the Way follows Johnny Cutter after the events of Maison De Fous and during Cirque du Désir’s hiatus. While the troupe lies low, Johnny crosses paths with Alaska — and let’s just say, this might have a festive backdrop, but it’s no Hallmark movie. It’s Christmas with Johnny’s signature depravity.

I really enjoyed this one. It’s fast-paced, unique, and surprisingly funny in that twisted Johnny way (the “gift” he gives Alaska? Perfectly on brand and absolutely hilarious). The voyeurism scene stands out as one of the most memorable moments — very unique, and executed so well.

What I especially loved was the bathtub scene. Nova Kane wrote Alaska as a thicker woman, and that representation was beautifully handled — it felt authentic and deeply relatable, especially for readers who’ve struggled with body image.

If you’re after a quick, filthy holiday horror erotica with a touch of humor, this is it. There is also a moment where we briefly see a new part of Johnny, one where he actually cares about someone else and it surprises even himself ( think “ Grinches heart grows two sizes” moment) but fear not his brutality returns in Ma Petite Mort.

Do note there’s an SA scene, so definitely check your triggers beforehand.

And for continuity lovers: this is where Johnny first meets Alaska. So if you plan to read Ma Petite Mort from the Cirque du Désir series, I recommend reading Slay All the Way first — it’ll make their dynamic hit even harder.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — wickedly entertaining and delightfully deranged

Wow... I have never wanted a character in book to die as much as I did Mark! Props to Johnny for the way he took care of him and put him on display. This book was great! A dark, gore-filled, psychotically romantic, killer with a peppermint twist (IYKYK)
