When Canadian Forces soldier Jan Blaylock's father- an investigative journalist- and the rest of her family are murdered in an attempt to cover up illegal arms sales, Blaylock abandons military life to plan her revenge against Integrated Security, the multi-national conglomerate she deems responsible.
A crown fire is a specific type of wildfire where it’s specifically material at the canopy level that burns, such as tall trees or vines. It’s an apt name for David Annandale’s first Jen Blaylock novel, the focus of which is Blaylock’s pursuit of those at the top of the corporate tree responsible for the deaths of her family.
Jen Blaylock is an incredible character and I want to know more! I was disappointed by the amount of time spent on her 'sidekick' who is, by far, the less interesting of the two. 3 stars because the ending was awful. Bombastic, frenetic, chaotic, blinding, and, ultimately, nonsensical. But seriously, Jen is awesome.
