His new assistant hates him. Too bad he just told the world they're dating...

Logan Moreno

Being a problem, I can handle. Being one of my sister's problems? Not so much. I've done everything I can to keep her out of the press…even when it's meant watching my reputation take hit after hit.
But I did not expect things to get this complicated.
Because a reporter won't stop sniffing around…and I just met my assistant in a bar and took her home. I probably should have warned her about my sister and her kid.
Now, Peyton thinks the kid is mine. And she hates me.
The only solution to both of my problems is obvious. I tell the world that we're dating.
It's true. At least, it will be as soon as I convince her that what she's feeling isn't hate. It's the makings of forever.

Peyton Cloud
Going home with the goalie who looks like sin is a bad idea, but I go anyway. Color me surprised when I realize he has a wife and kid at home.
I run out faster than an Olympian in a foot race.
Only to find out he's the player I'll be working for come Monday.
Why does Baby Jesus hate me?
Logan swears I've got him all wrong and that the kid isn't his. As if I haven't heard that before. My dad said the same thing—about me.
But this time, I really want to believe it. There's something about this ridiculous man I can't resist. Even when he announces to the world that we're dating.
For the record, we definitely aren't. Ever. I don't think.

These hockey stars are at the top of their game on the ice. But off the ice, their lives are wrecks. Between dodging puck bunnies, the paparazzi, and an endless parade of endorsement deals, they don't have time for love...until they do.

They say the bigger you are, the harder you fall. But these ice giants won't know what hit them when they fall face-first in love. For a chance at forever, they'll play the dirtiest, steamiest game of their lives. And the winner takes all.

This review will contain spoilers! I write it so I can refer to it in future. In this case, it is to remember why I hated it.

Safe
No OM/OW
No cheating (she thinks he is married with a kid, but the woman in the photo is his sister and the kid is his nephew)
Virgin heroine (she only hugged the few guys she dated goodbye and used toys to get off)
Quote,
The few dates I've been on ended in handshakes and hugs at the
end of the night. The only humming going on in my life is the kind
that comes from a battery-operated wand and an active imagination.
end quote

Experienced hero (yes the double standards infuriate me and made me HATE this book)
Quote,
"People say a lot of shit about me, baby. I act like an asshole. I do
a lot of dumb shit so they'll keep talking. But most of what they say
isn't true. I don't sleep around. I've never fucked a puck bunny." He
swallows hard. "Until you, I never brought a woman home with me.
There was never anyone I wanted to bring home until you."
"You're lying."
"I haven't been with anyone in years, Peyton." His nose brushes
mine. "And for the record, there's only you. There are no wives, no
girlfriends, no fuck buddies, none of that bullshit. It's only you, sweet
girl."
end quote

1 day separation (she storms off after her one night with him)
No gross condom use
No stupid third act break up
HEA (I don't care about this couple)

So he may not be a manwhore, but he fucked before and I just HATE experienced heroes. This is my personal taste in romance, I prefer the hero and heroine to be on equal footing and both being each others one and only. We always get the virgin heroine, but when paired with an experienced hero , it infuriates me. That alone soured all the sex scenes and their relationship. I just read this with a frown, sighs of frustration and rolling my eyes in annoyance.
Logan the goalie is a troublemaker, so the reporters write stories on him in order to lose the scent on his sister who suffers of schizophrenia. He is good to his sister, but the man is an dolt. He thinks that letting people think he whores around and gets into fights helps but that is not how it works. If he just lived a boring life, people would not be interested in him or his sister. I think Nichole Rose chose the easy, stupid reason to make the hero out to be what he is not in order for the story to continue, but the hero-pretending-to-be-a-bad-boy-for-good-reasons is lazy and stupid. If he puts attention on himself, it will eventually get to his sister! So not only did Nichole Rose make him an idiot, but chose to embrace the infuriating sexist choices she makes of ALWAYS having the virgin heroine, but this time giving her an experienced man. NR is so mercurial when it comes to the men.
He also tricked her into bed. YUP! And their first sex scene read as a cheap one night stand. In fairness for him his inner monologue says that he is all in for her. She on the other hand wanted to fuck him and if she regrets it, then she will at least have thrown caution to the wind for this one night. That cheapened the scene, and I read it through clenched teeth. He says he did not tell her that he will be her boss and she his assistant, because he knew she would push him away. Well yeah! When one character withholds info from another out of fear of losing them, I forgive it, but since it was to have sex, and quickly, the hour they met, it really bothered me. So to me, he was impatient to fuck her, and does not respect her enough to tell her the truth to make her own choice, nor is he patient enough to win her heart so that when they do finally have sex, it means something. She isn't exactly the brightest bulb in the chandelier.
She met the man and spent minutes with him before giving up the goods (the sex scene sucked because he was surprise she was a virgin, and he teaches her how to ride him, plus I hate when the guy is shocked that the girl is a virgin 🤢🤮).

Quote,
"Fuck," I rumble, realization dawning. I immediately fall still, staring
down at her in shock. "Baby, you're…" I swallow hard, my heart
pounding. Why the fuck am I suddenly nervous? "Peyton, are you a
virgin?"
"I…" Guilt dances across her face, confirming what I've already
worked out for myself. This fiery little goddess has never been with
anyone else. She bites her lip and nods. "Yes."
I lean down, brushing my lips across her forehead, eyelids, and
cheeks in awe. In silent apology. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"I…I didn't want you to stop," she whispers. "I want this."......
"Can't behave when your pussy feels this fucking good." I lift and
drop her again, taking a stumbling step toward the doorway. "Your
first time should be in a bed."
end quote

Quote,
"Ride me, Peyton," I order, smacking her ass. "Bounce on my cock
until you're coming for me again."
"S-show me how."
I notch my hands around her waist, helping to lift her up and down
until she finds her rhythm. "Yeah, just like that," I croon, leaning
forward to capture a nipple between my teeth. "Good girl."
end quote

When she wakes up in the morning thinking that she slept with a married man with a kid, she is heartbroken and shocked that he was that type of guy....um, YOU SLEPT TOGETHER MINUTES AFTER YOU MET! You think a guy like that wouldn't!? Of course Logan isn't a manwhore and isn't a cheater, but she did not know that. She should have seen red flags by how quickly they got down to business!

Quote,
Maybe he's telling the truth now—I'm surprised to find that I
actually believe him. He isn't married with a kid. He probably doesn't
sleep with every woman who throws herself at him. But none of that
changes the fact that he didn't tell the truth when it counted.
He knew I was supposed to interview to be his assistant, and he
didn't say anything. He just took what he wanted without considering
how that'd work out for me. And I let him do it because…well,
because he's dangerous to me
end quote
He may not be a manwhore or a cheater, but he is a liar and withheld info in order to get laid. He knew she would run, but he should have told her the truth and then chased after her however long it takes. Aside from hating the sexist and unfairness of pairing a virgin heroine with an experienced hero, I hate them even more when they lie to get laid. He is a piece of shit for that because he did it purposefully and thought that she was like him, experienced, so it just tells me that sex for him does not equate to love. I just hated all of that and it set the tone for the rest of this already shit story, which did not get any better because the broth is sour and beyond saving.

Peyton's past is painful because her father fucked a woman (her mother) and had a baby (her) which he threw away because he had another family. She was put in foster care and ignored because her father is a senator. Her mother was shot and killed so she grieves, but also puts her walls up. Because of that she does not trust or sleep with men, except for this night, she threw caution to the wind and went home with a man eager to fuck her.

I hated this part,
Quote,
Fucking hell. I've always known I was into curvy
women. Something about them is just fucking sexy to me. They're so
soft, so damn beautiful. But Peyton is in a class of her own. She's all
curves and translucent skin, too beautiful for words.
end quote
It does nothing for me except have me imagine him remembering the women he fucked before when he is in the middle of going down Peyton. YUCK!

Quote,
She
owns me, body and soul.
end quote,
NO, she doesn't. You own HER body and soul since there were no men before you, but she will never have you completely because you gave yourself to other women before her.

The comedic back and forth between the two does not alleviate or lighten the situation. If anything it falls flat and the tonal shift between "humour" (which NR is good at but failed this time), and the seriousness of his lies and her not taking accountability for her choices just feels out of place and awkward. Humour did not belong in this book, it just did not work for me. If anything, it made me think, well she isn't as heartbroken as she tells us if she can joke about it, and he isn't as serious if he smirks and talks dirty when it is not the time to be that way. It made me shake my head, frown and say to myself, 'What the fuck?'. Normally humor and serious heart to hearts works, but in this case it just felt off tonally.
She forgave him easily. When he called, she started playing with her clit. She would give in and then push away, which made me feel bad for Logan. Since the very start, he was adamant about showing her that this is forever and that he isn't going anywhere. I get she was hurt and that he lied, but through the whole book she fought him and the scene when she gave him an angry blow job which resulted in them fucking, she was going to say I love you when they finished only to push him away and call him out on the reason why he finds trouble, calling him a martyr. I felt so bad for him and angry at her. She did say I love you right after (thank goodness), but it was followed by her being upset with him.
He protects her by punching a photographer who made her cry, and gets called out for it. I am on his side, because he did it out of love, but she says he throws himself on the martyrs sword to protect his sister and her, but not out of love, but to punish himself. AND HE AGREES! I felt so bad for him! It was uncalled for! Peyton then tells him that he should not sacrifice his career and reputation for his sister and her, because he is a good person too. *huff* Ok, so say that to him with a tender caress rather than running off!
His sister asked him to keep her out of the limelight since he became famous and he did it by putting the attention on him. Yes, it is stupid, so stupid, but he did it out of love, and Peyton being angry at him for defending her because she doesn't believe it is out of love made me mad at her! Logan feels like whatever he does will upset her and is afraid of losing her. I get the two, and where they come from, but this whole story was a big let down. I did like Logan more than Peyton.
If this were DV, I would have enjoyed it more, as I forgive a lot when we have one and only couples. I read DV through rose colored glasses, but when it is not I only see the flaws and struggle to see the good. It is just personal preference for me, I only like fairness between the couple and in romance novels, I see sex as an expression of love. Since he experienced it with others, he does not equate sex with love which cheapens the relationship. He may not be a player, nor did he ever have a girlfriend, nor did he ever bring a woman to his house to spend the night, but he still has a past and it is reason enough for me to hate it. I can't help how I feel. This was an epic fail for me. Even with the NR sweetness and growly alpha hero, and a sassy heroine, it was doomed from the start.
I will NOT read it again. This goes in the 'throw it in the dumpster' pile and I do not recommend it. I hated it that much.

"This right here? This is heaven, Peyton," I rasp against her ear. "This greedy little cunt and your smart-ass mouth is my personal goddamn paradise."

Enjoyed the first part of the book, it was very insta, OTT and smutty. Since I didn’t take big portion of what’s happening too seriously, it was easy and fun read.

"What are you wearing under that skirt, baby?"
"A chastity belt. It's made of titanium and has ten locks on it," she snaps. "And a troll has the keys."
"You going to let me see it later?"
"Sure," she says sweetly. "Just as soon as hell freezes over and demons rule earth." She glances around the room pointedly. "I don't see demons yet, Mr. Moreno."

However, the second part includes heavier themes, trauma and big serious speeches, which felt kinda unnecessary and weird for me, given the overall vibe I felt earlier.

I would have liked the book more if it had kept things a bit lighter or more consistent in tone. Mostly a me thing.

"Go to hell."
"I'm already there, baby. Or haven't you been paying attention?" I shove my hand inside her panties, kicking her legs apart.
"Every minute I'm not inside you is my own personal hell."

"She's the light in my life. She's my peace. I breathe for her. I fucking exist for her."

"I am so mad at you right now."
He grins, flashing those dimples at me. "Oh, I'm aware, angel. Why do you think my dick is so fucking hard?"

"Logan," I whimper, grasping a handful of the blankets.
"Hush, baby. Let me eat in peace," he murmurs, flicking his tongue out to taste me.

"I'm hers in every way. My heart beats for her. It has since the minute I met her…and I know all the way to my bones that it always will. She owns me, body and soul."

"Why do I love how territorial and possessive he is? I'm a strong, independent woman. It should not be that fucking hot. It really shouldn't. And yet, every dang time he growls that I'm his or acts like a caveman, my body throws up a white flag and screams, 'Yes, king, yes!'"

"I already know this woman is going to rule my entire fucking world and I intend to make her pay for it with sweat and come and obedience. I'll be her plaything. I'll do her bidding. But when we're like this, I'll drive her fucking wild just because I can."

"I want to be all over her…right fucking now. Maybe then I'll be able to breathe again.

Peyton is spying on her new boss at the bar. The problem is she doesn't know who it is, lol. So she's watching a bunch of hockey guys. Que a drunk guy harassing her and Logan (future boss) saving her and taking her home. They hit it off well until she finds out he has a child and a wife!! Which isn't true at all. The picture is of his sister and nephew misunderstanding between them. And he fights tooth and nail to show her he isn't like other people in her past.

Lots of sexual tension between the 2, the spice to me, was light in this book. And drama surrounding his sister. Can't wait to see the next couple.

This is the second book in a new hockey series by Nichole Rose. Logan is the new traded troublemaker goalie and he needs an assistant ASAP. Peyton needs money so she agrees to interview for the position as an assistant for a hockey player. But first she needs to check her new employer out... whoever that might be. she runs into Logan and when he sees Peyton he just knows she will be his and that she is his assistant (but he won't tell her 😉). These two fall head over heels for each other, but their past/present and their secrets threaten to drive them apart. but Logan won't stop to show his woman that he would do everything for her and won't stop to grovel to get his HEA 😏 Instalove, hockey romance, sibling with a mental illness, sweet, steamy, fun to read, feisty FMC, kind of golden Retriever MMC, a bit of miscommunication (no OP drama), heartwarming and safe with an awesome HEA😍😍😍😍 Can't wait for Archers and Wrens story ❤️

This is book number 2 of the Pucked Up Love series and focuses on Logan and Peyton. Logan is an incredibly private person when it comes to his personal and family life. He has always been incredibly protective of his sister and has always made a great effort to keep her out of the spotlight, even at the detriment of his own reputation. He desperately needs help getting his life organized due to so many moving parts with his family life and work life so he sets up interviews for an assistant. Right before the interviews, he meets Peyton and immediately knows that she’s the one for him. They have a great night together but almost immediately fall apart the next day due to miscommunications and some withholding of important information. He knew that she was going to be interviewing with him but didn’t relay that information to her. Logan knows what he wants and is determined to win Peyton over and get her to fall for him. He refuses to let anything get in the way of their relationship. I absolutely loved how protective Logan was of Peyton and his sister. This was a great story and a great addition to the series.

I received a free copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Sweet, Spicy and SOOO SATIFYING

Book 2 in the Pucked Up Love series completely stole my heart 💘! Peyton and Logan’s story gave me all the instalove, emotional healing, and dirty-talking hockey player energy I NEEDED!!

From the moment Peyton chucked a pitcher of beer, Logan knew she was it for him. Their chemistry were sooo goood!!! But what caught me was their banter!!!And the way they get each other despite both carrying heavy baggage? SO emotional and tender 😭
Logan is more than just a hot goalie—he’s a protective big brother who would do anything to shield his sister and her family from the spotlight, even if it means faking a relationship with his new assistant… aka Peyton 👀 Except… when the lines blur? OH, they blur FAST. This man talks filthy but loves so hard, and I was HERE for it 😮‍💨💋

Peyton’s past is no joke either. Her story brought a lot of depth, and seeing her find safety, love, and confidence with Logan was everything I needed. These two are messy, real, and absolutely meant for each other 💞. I also LOVED how Nichole handled mental health with Logan’s sister, Lauren. She wasn’t just a background character—her journey was real, raw, and respectfully written.

OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice read, a little longer than I usually read but so worth it.

Logan and Peyton met in a bar where her best friend, Serena took her to introduce her to some of the Washington Carver's hockey team. When Peyton gets up another guy runs into her when she tries to step around him he doesn't let her go. So Peyton grabs a pitcher of beer off the hockey team table and throws it on the guy. The whole hockey team stands up when they notice the guy start to raise his hand towards Peyton. After the guy is escorted out of the bar, Peyton's friend suggests that Logan take her home when she notices him flirting with her. When Peyton gets to Logan's truck she doesn't want him to take her home she asks him to take her to his house. Peyton was in the bar with her best friend trying to figure out which of the hockey players she'll be working for soon. Peyton doesn't think it's Logan because whoever she's going to work for has a kid. When Logan gets Peyton to his home, he pleasures her then they make love. When Peyton wakes up the following day she goes looking for the bathroom only to discover a nursery and pictures on the wall of Logan with a woman and child. Peyton grabs her things and tries to leave but Logan stops her. Peyton throws her shoes at Logan while he's trying to explain. Peyton leaves and goes home to cry herself to sleep. When Logan gets to practice he goes to find their publicist to let her know to cancel all his interviews he knows he's going to hire Peyton. When Peyton gets to the interview she's not shocked to see Logan, but she wants to know why he didn't tell. Logan doesn't have an answer for Peyton, but insists on hiring her. While they are leaving the parking lot a reporter spots them, and Logan tells him they're dating. Logan is trying to keep his sister out of the press, it's the only things she has asked of him. Logan takes Peyton to his home to met his sister, Lauren and explains to her what is going on with his sister and why he needs to keep her out of the press. Logan gets Peyton to go with him and his team the next day for their away game. Before they take off the team's publicist comes to find Logan and wants to know why he told the reporter he's dating Peyton when she works for him. Logan pulls their publicist aside to asks her if she knows about Peyton's past. Peyton doesn't want her father being brought up because she never knew him. Peyton goes to met with her best friend Serena, when she leaves the restaurant a bunch of reporters start flashing lights in her face. Peyton stumbles but a guy catches her, he asks her if she needs help getting to her car. Peyton tells him no, but knows he looks familiar. Later when Peyton finds out who the man was and is accused of cheating on Logan. When Logan gets home Peyton tells him she's not cheating on him, and explains what happened. Logan tells Peyton he hasn't seen any press today. The following day Logan punches the reporter that snapped Peyton's picture and spread lies over the press. When Peyton finds out that Logan punched a reporters she tells him he can't do that he's going to ruin his career. Logan decides maybe it's time he talks to Emilia Pucking Dirty. Peyton convinces Logan that maybe his sister wants to tell her story, so he goes and talks to her. Peyton tells Logan she wants to tell about her father and how he abandoned her and her mother. While Logan is trying to convinces Peyton to come to another away game the report comes to talk to them. Peyton tells the reporter her side of the story about her father. One month later, when Logan and his teammates get back they're celebrating in the bar. Logan asks Peyton to marry him and she tells him yes. Logan's sister, Lauren released a statement about her metal health issues. Five years later, Logan and Peyton have a son Lex and a daughter Livvie, and she's pregnant with another child. Logan doesn't think a lifetime is long enough with Peyton, she the light of his life, his peace.

Peyton Cloud has an interview on Monday to be the assistant to a professional hockey player. The player needs help due to family issues, but Peyton wasn’t told which player needed help. It is Thursday night and Peyton and her best friend Serena are at the hockey arena bar. Serena gives her the rundown on the players sitting at a nearby table. Serena knows hockey because her brother plays. Peyton knows nothing about hockey.

Logan Moreno is the new goalie. He is a giant with beautiful blue eyes. Serena says that he is trouble and needs a babysitter, not an assistant. Serena hopes that Peyton isn’t interviewing with him. Logan is new to town. His sister and her baby will be staying with him from time to time. He tries to keep them out of the spotlight by doing crazy things to keep the press focused on him only.

Peyton gets up to go order nachos and bumps into a guy that reeks of alcohol. She realizes that he is not drunk, just creepy. He hits on her, but she tells him no and to keep his hands to himself. When the man grabs her arm, Peyton grabs a half a pitcher of beer off the hockey teams’ table and she throws it on the creep. The man goes to hit Peyton, but Logan jumps up to defend her and gets the creep thrown out. They chat and Logan was impressed by how Peyton handled the situation. He asks why Peyton is in the hockey bar if she knows nothing about hockey. She admits that they are doing recon before her interview on Monday. He finds it interesting that she does not know who she is interviewing with on the team. Serena comes over to say she is leaving but tells Logan that Peyton needs a ride home. Peyton laughs to herself because she and Serena live together. Peyton figures she already blew the interview after the drama at the bar in front of the players. She decides to live a little and lets Logan take her back to his place.

Logan knew that he was interested in Peyton from the moment he saw her. Her being feisty and standing up for herself made her even more attractive to him. Regardless of his reputation, he does not take women home. They have a great night together. In the morning, Peyton goes to look for the bathroom while Logan is still sleeping. She finds a baby’s room all set up. She thinks that she is a homewrecker like her father and runs away.

I knew these two being together was going to be interesting. They were a cute couple. I can’t wait to read more in the series.

Nichole Rose - we aren't worthy! Logan was just what I needed to read this weekend and my goodness he's the most delicious sin wrapped in a hockey jersey.
Pucking Fake is the second book in the the Pucked Up in love series and follows goalie Logan and Peyton. Logan does everything and anything from going out with nameless faces to starting fights to keep himself in the spotlight, but not for the narcissistic reasons you might think. Logan's a protective brother to his baby sister and will clearly do anything to make sure she and her little family are kept out of the media. And that includes announcing he's dating Peyton his new assistant.
Peyton is out on a job recon mission when her night finishes with her in bed with Logan. A trip round his house looking for the bathroom leads her to a room she wasn't expecting, has Logan's secrets caught up with him and cost him Peyton?

Both Peyton and Logan have some baggage from their own personal lives that the media would love to take directive on and use against them. Peyton from her upbringing, and Logan from his sisters struggles, both want to keep it behind closed doors, but maybe it's time to bring it out into the light and take control.

Nichole has given us a side character in Lauren (Logan's sister) who is absolutely amazingly written. While she is apart of Logan's behaviour she's overall seen as a positive as she's a continuous work in progress and isn't afraid to admit it and ask for help in the end. Schizophrenia is such a tabboo subject as is most mental health conditions, so for this to be done and written about in a way that's tries to highlight the strength of the character rather than her flaws I commend.

If you love dirty talking alpha males with a heart of gold, strong willed females, steamy scenes, pure love, instalove, dual pov writing, curvy virgin female lead, hockey romance, series read, angst and drama Nichole has got you covered and she delivers on the HEAs too.

5 stars!!!!! A reread for definite for me.

I can't believe I just finished my second book in a row where the mmc is not a manwhore. Thank you author, it's appreciated!
Listened to the audiobook from Hoopla. It's definitely a case of instalust but I don't mind that. In this case I thought it seemed plausible. Logan (mmc) meets the fmc while she is at a bar fending off a guy who is trying to grab her. She grabs the pitcher of beer off the mmc's table to chuck in the pervs face. Logan's interested. While talking to her, he figures out that she is the woman who will be interviewing to be his assistant but she doesn't know that amd he doesn't tell her because he's afraid she'll leave. He does end up taking her home, even though he hasn't done that before (no puck bunnies or ons) and he hasn't slept with anyone in years. It's all just a fake, bad boy image for the media.
A misunderstanding happens because in the morning, at his house, our fmc wakes up and sees baby stuff and photos in the house and thinks he's married. It's his sister and nephew.
All misunderstandings are worked out and she takes the job as his assistant and his girlfriend and she finds out that he has a fake playboy image to distract the reporters from questions about his sister who has mental illness.
There's no major drama in the book, which I did not mind. I like these kind of books if I've had too much heavy stuff. It's nice to read about a guy who feels something different immediately about someone he meets and acts on that vs a guy who acts on every feeling for every woman he meets. Makes it feel like it's actually special.
Ew, I'm getting sentimental.
I liked this book as well as the first one. I'm planning on continuing this series and also looking into other books by this author.

This is book two of the author’s Pucked Up Love series and features Logan, the Carver’s goalie, and his reluctant assistant, Peyton.

This book is HOT! Logan is a shameless flirt with a filthy mouth on him but he’ll do whatever it takes to make Peyton his…of course lying is what caused the big misunderstanding that almost made him lose her in the first place. Yes, he screwed up—bad—and he knew it but he was having a hard time regretting it if it won him the woman he already couldn’t stand the thought of losing.

Peyton already had trust issues a mile wide from a lifetime spent being denied by her father so when she stumbled on Logan’s big secret, even though she’d just had the night of her life with him, she ran, never expecting to see him a few days later as her new employer.

Oh my gosh, I LOVED this book!! Logan was sweet and smexy and Peyton was full of snark, doing her best to keep him at arm’s length, but anytime they got within touching distance, she struggled to resist him yet unable to give in completely… This is a must read for anyone who loves hockey romance and the heat that comes standard with every one of Nichole Rose’s books. PERFECTION!!! 5 stars!

So so good!!

I am completely in love with Logan! This man is the definition of swoony—protective, bold, and head-over-heels the second he lays eyes on Peyton. He’s not the kind of guy to let the woman he loves slip away, and he proves it by roping Peyton into a “fake” relationship. The only catch? It’s definitely not fake for him.

Logan is all in from the start, and honestly, who could resist a man who isn’t afraid to show just how much he cares? His fierce loyalty and determination make him impossible not to love.

Peyton, on the other hand, is no pushover. She’s been through a lot, but she comes out the other side stronger than ever. She calls Logan out when he needs it and doesn’t let him coast by on charm alone—though, let’s be real, he’s got plenty of that too. The banter, the honesty, and the push and pull between them are perfection.

And the chemistry? Whew. These two burn together. Whether they’re sharing sweet moments or lighting up the bedroom, the connection between them is electric. I also love that they laugh together—it adds such depth to their relationship and makes their love feel real.

Pucking Fake is the perfect blend of steam, heart, and humor. Nichole Rose nails it again, and I already can’t wait for the next book in this series!

Love this Series!

"Pucking Fake" is the second book in the “Pucked Up Love” series. Peyton and Logan's story is a sweet and unexpected emotional instalove tale. Logan knows from the moment Peyton "borrows" their pitcher of beer to throw at a guy that they are meant to be together. The banter between Peyton and Logan is hilarious.

Logan has spent his whole life taking care of his sister and ensuring she doesn’t make headlines. So when the nosy reporter starts stirring things up again, he seizes the opportunity to tell him that he’s dating Peyton. What Logan doesn’t realize is that Peyton also has her own secret past involving her father that has haunted her throughout her life. Together, they give each other the strength and courage to heal from their pasts.

This book does an amazing job of developing the characters, and I guarantee you’ll be laughing out loud as you read. The witty exchanges and fast-paced action make it hard to put down! I’m super excited for the next book in the series and have no doubt it’ll be just as enjoyable as the first two!

This is the 2nd book in the Pucked Up Love series featuring Logan and Peyton's sweet, emotional, funny, hockey, insta-love romance. Logan does whatever it takes to protect his sister from the media even when that means his reputation is the one that takes the hit. Now there's a nosy reporter that won't stop sniffing around and he just met Peyton his new assistant in the bar. Logan took her home with him without telling her about his sister and her child Peyton thought that Logan was married so she left. Peyton thinks that the child is Logan's so she hates him now but Logan tells the world that they're dating solving both of his problems. All he has to do is convince Peyton that what she feels for him is the opposite of hate. Logan and Peyton were made for each other Peyton is sassy enough to keep the goalie on his toes which only makes Logan fall harder for his new assistant. Will Logan be able to convince her? Will the reporter stop snooping around? You really need to read this sweet, emotional, funny, hockey, insta-love romance to see what happens. I would definitely recommend reading this book.

I love hockey, I love hockey players, and I LOVE hockey romances!

Logan Moreno is a hockey god. He also has a huge heart with his family at the center of it. He spends his time “fake effing” up to keep media on his famous hockey-playing self, instead of on his family. When Peyton, his new assistant, walks into his orbit, all bets are off. He’ll burn himself, his hockey career, and anything else to ensure Peyton is protected too. But Peyton doesn’t play that way and Logan better figure out a new path if he wants to keep her forever.

Oh my, did I love this couple! All of Nichole Rose’s heroines are sassy, kick a$$ women, but Peyton might just top them all. I adored her and her strength and spunk. Logan…oh my x2! He had my heart by immediately! He’s a dirty, dirty boy with a big, dirty mouth and a big hockey stick to back it up. All of Nichole’s men become my book boyfriends. They are flawed enough to be perfect. They are smart enough to recognize the treasure in front of them for what she’s worth. They’re enlightened enough to (eventually) recognize what it will take to win their woman’s heart. And the hotness! Gah!

A full circle moment from the Playing for Keeps series?! I did not connect the dots that Logan Moreno was the same crazy Logan from the Playing for Keeps series, but I’m so glad he is! I loved this nod to the other series, and the fact we got his story behind his crazy antics. Logan was an absolute menace, the epitome of crazy hockey goalie and Peyton matched him in crazy and sass. Peyton was perfection, I loved how she gave so much back to him in both sass and understanding. She saw right through his mask of trouble right through the the amazing man he was. I loved Logan’s relationship with his sister and how he literally did everything to protect her. Touching on mental illness and how it effects them and everyone around them was brilliant as well. So many tropes in one with a slight enemies to lovers, aggressive love that was perfectly them. No cheating or OM/OW drama, virgin FMC, dual POV, locker room steamy times, lots of steam, dual POV, rom com hockey, HEA and an epilogue 5 years in the future. I’m so excited for Archer and Wren and to see how Jordan’s story progresses!

POV: Dual, First person
Main Characters: Peyton and Logan
OW(M)/Cheating: No, it seems to be in the beginning but if you read the blurb you know it’s not cheating.
3rd act breakup: No.
Instalove: Yep.
Series: 2 of 4 in the Pucked Up Love Series
Spice: Yes. It seems like there were more spicy scenes than Nichole normally gives us but they fit and added to the story.
Writing/Story: Nichole’s writing is always easy to read. I think she did really well with this story because I kept feeling like Logan and his sister are the problem and finally Peyton calls him out on it and it’s beautiful.
Editing: Pretty well edited. Only a few mistakes.
Read this author before: Yes.
Available on KU: I think so because the first one was
Trigger Warnings: None, but does have schizophrenia representation. Nothing detailed.
Should you read it: Yes. You should everything Nichole writes.

Oh my, the hotness of this book, I think I melted into a puddled at least 8 times!!! Pucking Fake is so good!! I love Logan Moreno, not only because he is a super hot hockey player, he is so protective and supportive of those he loves. He is the perfect Alpha male, he is possessive of his woman, and is protective of his family. Peyton Cloud, a woman who does not have a family, at least a family worth mentioning. Her bio-father never wanted her, even after her mother was taken from the world. Peyton is looking for a job, and wouldn’t you just know it, it is with Logan, the man she had one night with, until she sees pictures of another woman and child in his house. She is sure Logan is her One, now she just hates him. That is until the truth comes out, and then the sparks really fly! I loved Pucking Fake, especially with Nichole Rose breaking the stigma of mental health issues. Pucking Fake has everything, love, laughter, angst, victory and as always an HEA!!!

Logan... I loved him!

Peyton... lost me

Hands down, I am a huge fan of Nichole Rose, so it hurts to say this, but Peyton killed this story for me... like dead!

When she was still spouting her I hate you's at 70% I was already so over her!

How Logan ended up being the bad guy is beyond me.

I get it! Peyton had some major trust and self worth issues, and I totally understand why, but really? Logan waaay proved his love, commitment and loyalty by the end of the 3rd chapter already and Peyton was still harbouring on to some shit stain reason of him not being honest about being her boss come Monday, at 70% (the shit stain reason happened in the beginning of the book, BT Dubs)

I love Nichole Rose books because we ALWAYS get to share in the character's great love affair... sadly, not this one, though.

Grief! I just wanted to punch Peyton in the face & Logan deserved the same level of love, commitment and loyalty that he gave!

I wasn’t very interested in this couple. It was a major ick for me, which is disappointing because I usually enjoy novellas for their low drama. This one? Not so much.

From the very beginning, there’s a lot of deception on Logan’s part. He hides the fact that he knows Peyton will be working for him, invites her to his house under false pretenses, and then moves way too fast—without even using a condom. Yes, Peyton is a virgin, but he’s not. The least they could have done was have an actual conversation about it.

Logan’s behavior overall really bothered me. The way he stalks Peyton and keeps pushing her until she falls in line is a huge red flag in my eyes. He insists she come in for the interview even after she says no, pressures her into accepting the job, and constantly pushes her into doing what he wants. At no point does he stop to ask what she wants, and that dynamic made it impossible for me to enjoy their relationship.

Ode to delicious MMCs. 😂 Logan was awesome. He is a little bit of a hurricane. Causing a little chaos wherever he goes. But his reasoning behind it is so freaking sweet. Logan is an amazing man. He fights tooth and nail for those he loves. And he falls quickly and irrevocably for Peyton. Peyton is perfect for him. She has a little hurricane in her too. She's had a tough life and has learned to fight for herself. She has learned to not apologize for who she is. There's a lot to each of their pasts in this. Each one has issues to deal with. And I think finding true love in each other gives them the strength to do so. I laughed and I cried. Nichole is great at giving me all the feels. This series has been incredible and I can't wait for the next one.

This is a cute short read about a hockey player named Logan who falls first and hard for our main female character Peyton who he hires to help him navigate his challenges and press related issues. While he does this its all a ruse because he falls for her first in a meet cute way as Peyton goes to a bar to do recon on her potential new boss not realizing the guy that she is crushing on is him. This story is not only has a protective mmc but a FMC whose father is trash and left her to the foster system in order to further his own political agenda. The MMC is also an absolute sweetheart who tries to keep his sister out of the news by any means because she suffers from mental health problems and feels guilt over how everything is so much easier for him than his sister. This is a definite must read if you want to see a love and a good guy win the day.

I feel like I’ve waited forever for Logan’s book to come out, as we originally met him in the “Playing for Keeps” series. It’s great to see him get his own story finally! And it was well worth the wait, too.

"Pucking Fake" is the second book in the “Pucked Up Love” series. Peyton and Logan's story is superbly written! Peyton’s sass, along with her walls of protection that have been firmly developed over years of pain and struggle make for one ride when they collide with Logan and his overprotective instincts.

And I love how Nichole is so open to touch upon so many different topics and subjects. It means you never know what you’re going to get when you pick up one of her stories. This is a heartfelt story with lots of personal struggles and growth seen in the MMC/FMC.

Logan and Peyton meet at a bar and there are sparks. He doesn’t tell her he’s her potential boss so she gets mad about that when the truth comes out. But when they are cornered, he invents a fake relationship between the two. Peyton is furious yet when he tells her the story, she agrees to go along with it.

Nichole Rose’s books have such wonderful lines that! Some of my favorites from this story are “The world isn’t kind to the people it sees as broken.” And “She’s...something I crave with an intensity that borders on desperation.”

I love reading about two characters falling in love and working through tough real world issues.

Payton and Logan

I absolutely loved this book! Not only did I fall completely in love with Payton (all her sass and attitude just made me love her in every way) but I got to know more of the secondary characters I liked from the previous books I love the At I got to know more about Logan and his sister. I laughed so hard at so many scenes and lines in this book. I am just completely floored but how much I enjoyed it. I can totally see reading it again. I cannot wait to see what more happens in this series! Bring on more hot hockey men and the women they fall all over themselves for!

“Because, for some reason, the mouthier I am, the more it turns him on. He needs to be defied. He wants to work for it. Logan wasn’t made for a meek, obedient woman. He was made for one like me.

No. He was made for me.”

Ahhhh I loved this.🥹😍Nothing say romance more than a man falling first and repeatedly finding it attractive when you’re a little mean to him. These two were so fun to read, and the banter was everything. The story was very entertaining, and I just adored the endings as usual.

My rating: 4.3/5

This is the second book in this sensational Pucked Up Love series, the plot is all you need for a very good entertaining reading. Logan has always had a bad reputation, fights and scandals that always brought negativity to his career as professional hockie goalie, but he knew Peyton and although she was destined to be his personal assistant, He knew from the first moment that she would be more than his employee. Love as Nichole addressed issues that we rarely know are part of some people’s lives and we judge without having a clue.

This is book two in the Pucked Up Love series by NR.

Logan's (H) and Peyton's (h) chemistry was off the charts. After one misunderstanding was cleared up, it felt like it went from 0 to 60 real fast.

The spice was on a lower scale in this book than I'm used to from NR, but I enjoyed it. I also loved how protective Logan was of Peyton and his sister. But I won't spoil that for you. ;)

I cannot wait for the next one!
