Well Well Well Goodreads family we’re reading again (Hahaha!! Instead of we meet again) Get it?!?! Ok Thats was Corny 🤪😜 GREAT BOOK I gave it 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It was probably the most interesting out of all them. I love this series. I feel like I know all the characters. For some reason I picture Thomas Sheppard which is one of the main characters looking like Colombo (it’s an actor) Anyway, every single character in this book is amazing. I feel like I know them. The book is great definitely a must read series. I love ❤️ all the books from the author Dan Padavona. He is by far my favorite favorite author ✍️ I wish I could get him to sign one of his books. That would be SO AMAZING!! But I know that ain’t gonna happen. Give this series a chance. You are really going to love it.. The reading challenge journey continues..,

This book was obtained as an ARC and this is my unbiased review. I have followed this series by Dan Padavona since way back. This is the 10th book in the series and I really enjoyed following Sheriff Thomas Shepherd. This book finds Tom having to reluctantly deal with a neighboring community's somewhat dubious police department. A brutal gang is seemingly setting up shop in the town, but the police seem unaware of this. Things come to a head when a young police officer Tom is mentoring is found dead, said to be self-inflicted. Thomas is not so sure and he sets in motion a dangerous foray into the most crime ridden parts of the city in search of the Hollow Man, a mystical monster feared by all. Along with this major storyline, Tom's fiancé Chelsey's private investigation firm is tasked with a 10 year old disappearance. It was fascinating to follow along their forensic accounting trail, trying to determine what happened to the missing husband. Both stories move along fast and furious, and both keep you guessing until the end. I look forward to the continuing saga of Wolf Lake's Sheriff Tom.

Double Exposure - a review by Rosemary Kenny.

A clever title for a twisty, ingenious double plot, Sheriff Thomas Shepherd, his bride-to-be PI Chelsea Byrd, Raven, (her partner in Wolf Lake Investigations) and Thomas's Deputies LeVar and Aguilar, investigate two very different crimes.
In both cases, the main perpetrators hide their identities behind a false persona...each with money as their raison d'etre.
Danger and death are close at hand, as Thomas' protégée Noah pays the price for his suspicions.
Who betrays those closest to them?
My lips are sealed, but you can find out what it's all about, when you grab a copy of Dan Padavona's thriller Double Exposure...it's too good to miss!

I LOVED IT!!! In my opinion Dan Padavona did a great job of telling two stories. He finds a way to include Chelsey and Thomas love story moving. Double Exposure is full of suspense, mystery and deception. There is a lot of animosity toward Thomas. Dan Padavona did a good job of conveying Thomas's disappointment in himself. I figured out Chelsey's case from the get go. I had theories who was behind Thomas's case. There are a lot of twist and turns in both stories. Even though I was sure what was going on in both cases I was on the edge of my seat turning the pages. In my opinion Dan Padavona is one of the best at suspense. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader's copy.

An intriguing story

When Thomas and his Deputies are involved in an investigation in a neighboring town, everything seems to get out of hand quickly, which leaves Thomas questioning himself. Wolf Lake Security is hired to find someone who has been missing for more than 10 years, but every lead seems to be a dead end, until it's not. Lol! It's certainly not a story that you'll want to miss! I absolutely loved the ending for the missing person! Hahaha!!!
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.

two mind-bending mysteries

One criminal, the other - morally questionable - but also skirting the criminal as well.

A small town within Nightshade County requests aid from the Sheriff, to mentor its newest officer.

A bereft wife seeks the fate of her husband, who vanished a decade ago-seeking clarity and finality.

Both Thomas and Chelsea find the answers to the two mysteries.

Hmmmm

I still enjoy reading this series but I don’t think they are quite up to the quality they were in the beginning. I am also not overly fond of the whole LeVar/Scout thing. A 16 yo and 20 yo?? A little creepy. I will continue to read the series but hope that it goes back to how good they were in the earlier books.

Same as ever

This was another in the series of Dan Padavona enjoyable reads. Nothing too complex. No hidden agenda. No secrets. Just a decent story from a quiet little town sheriff and his band of helpers.

obvious

I would suggest reading this only if you are invested in the characters lives because this mystery (at least one of them) was so incredibly obvious from the get go. It is well written though and he is still one of my favorites authors.

Excellent, Fast Read

A great story of deceit, corruption & urban legend. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Reading a Thomas Shepherd book is like spending time with old friends. As I got closer to the end, the pages flew by until I reached the conclusion. Enjoy!

Liked the two story lines going on. The creepy other cops, they didn't even listen to the guy who knew something was wrong.

Hollow John !!! That was awesome.....
