Isaiah: Messiah

Rate this book
We've all read parts of Isaiah. We've read about the word in Chapter 55, fasting in 58, and comfort in 60. We've seen the babe, Jesus, in Chapter 11 and prayed for the strength of eagles in 40. But why is God so angry in so much of Isaiah? Chapter 1 begins with a tirade of judgment, warning, hardship, and woe. A straight read-through of Isaiah leaves you weeping like Jeremiah, the prophet. Is this prophecy directed at the Jews and their oppressors thousands of years ago? Or is it about God's judgment at the end of the age? One thing we know for certain is that in these last days, judgment begins with the household of God. In Isaiah we see God stop at nothing to reclaim the hearts of His people whom He loves.
