I'm so stupid, I didn't read book 8 before reading this last book of the series but alas, I shall read it next. In a way I'm glad 'cos now I don't have to leave these characters yet, I can still love them. This book was so great that I devoured it in less than 4 hours and I've NEVER done that in my life! I just started it around 3am and it's nearly 6am now....okay maybe 3 hours...lol I was never good at math. I love how the book ended, sort of. I mean we all know one aspect of the ending, don't we? Anyway this book is hella exciting, kept me on the very edge of my seat even when I was laying in bed! This series started my apocalyptic obsession this past summer, the first in this series just grabbed me from page one and never let me go. I read all 6 books in, literally, 6 days...then had to wait for the rest but the wait was worth it! I honestly love this series way more than I ever thought I would!

Nora and her band of survivors face more adversity while clinging to hope. Emily finally reveals her secret to everyone and the group continues to grow. Nora makes a quick decision that results in her getting separated from everyone. Will she find her way back to her family or struggle to survive on her own?
The weather continues to get colder and more erratic as the insectoids and roamers become out of control. How much longer do they have before everything is destroyed? Will they survive and find their safe haven?
Nora’s journey was heartwarming in the aspect that her and her group never give up when times are rough and always find a way to remember the positive. I received an advanced copy. I cannot wait to read her next novel series.

It's over 🥹
What a bittersweet ending to the series I was obsessed over. Of course our poor survivors couldn't catch a break even in this last book. One danger straight to the next. But the book ends with hope. And a piece of a shattered heart...mine.
