A soldier tormented by the past. A woman with no memory. A love neither of them saw coming.
Elliot "Echo" Hunt carries the weight of his past, haunted by the one person he couldn’t save. When he finds an injured woman on his ranch, he rescues her without hesitation—only to realize she looks eerily like the one he couldn’t protect.
"Jane Doe" wakes with no memory, no identity—just an overwhelming sense of connection to the man who saved her. The attraction between them is undeniable, yet Elliot, scarred by his past, keeps her at arm’s length, terrified of what a second chance at love could cost.
As the danger surrounding Jane intensifies, so does their bond. With every passing day, their hearts grow closer, but secrets from her past threaten to tear them apart.
As Elliot faces his greatest fears, he must decide if he’s willing to trust in God’s plan for a love that might heal them both—or risk losing it forever.
Dive into a gripping tale of love, redemption, and unshakable faith. Get your copy of Echo and experience a heart-pounding Christian romantic suspense story that will leave you breathless!
Jessica is an Army veteran who lives in Texas with the love of her life and their three children.
After spending nearly a decade writing spicy paranormal and fantasy romance as a USA Today bestselling author, she felt the desire to do something completely different.
She will still tell heartbreakingly beautiful stories with strong women and protective men, but this time they will also feature the joy of faith, and the importance of following God in whatever journey He sets you on.
Echo doesn’t shout for attention; it pulls you into quiet intensity, page by page, with a depth where faith meets fear and love finds a way!
There’s something remarkable about a book that can carry adrenaline and ache in the same breath. Jessica Ashley delivers both—honestly, powerfully, and without apology. The suspense kept me fully present, but it was the unwavering thread of authentic Christian faith that held my heart in place.
One character says, “I know God is real. I know that Jesus came and died for our sins. What I don’t understand is how He can forgive us even when we can’t forgive ourselves.” This is what Christian fiction looks like when it remembers we’re still wrestling, still healing, still needing truth to meet us where we are on our walk with Jesus.
Elliot’s story is shaped by what he couldn’t fix. Hers is shaped by what she can’t remember. Both are steeped in questions that don’t have easy answers—and that’s what makes the journey worth taking. The spiritual undertones aren’t hidden in metaphor or hinted at—they’re bold, honest, and anchored in Scripture. And when her grandfather’s words echo back—“Jesus died so you could have a chance to live. So, what will you make of that life, girl? What will you make of your second chance?”—it doesn’t feel like a quote; it feels like a commission.
This is Christian romantic suspense done right. Action-packed without being chaotic. Tender without being soft. Thoughtful without drifting into sentimentality.
The writing? Tight, clean, and urgent in all the right places. The story? Unpredictable and deeply personal. The faith content? Lived out—raw, sincere, and never ornamental.
One of the character's words stopped me cold: “God was in the fire with me, right beside me as the flames got so hot I could barely stand it. And He brought me through.” That one I have memorized and posted! If you’ve been craving a story where danger and redemption are two sides of the same coin—and where faith isn’t an afterthought, it’s the whole reason—Echo is that story.
Read it. Sit with it. Let it speak. Share it.
I received a digital ARC of this book from the author. I am not required to write a positive review nor paid to do so. This is my honest and unbiased review. My thoughts and opinions expressed in this book review are my own. My review focuses on superb writing and story’s excellent content, ensuring transparency and reliability.
Series: Hunt Brother Search & Rescue Format: audiobook borrow from Everand Narrators: Savannah Rivera and David Lee Garver - female is good but male has creepy female voices Challenge Prompt: FFF's "a redheaded MC" -- the FMC has red hair
Book #55 of 2025: Another great instalment in the series. There is a mystery of who the FMC really is since she is a victim of amnesia from her injuries. Even after she is identified, she doesn't remember much of anything for a while. There are a number of layers to this story of Elliot and "Jane Doe."
Sometimes all the major injuries become a little much and unrealistic. There is a lot of action within a dangerous and risky field of course, but sometimes they all sound like they're infallible.
I enjoyed the all the action but would like a few more "regular" moments.
I want to start by saying I received an ARC of this book. This is a Christian romantic suspense book and book two in the Hunt Brothers Search & Rescue series. The main characters are Elliot and Nova. Elliot finds Nova hurt and gets her to the hospital. The problem? She doesn’t remember her name or anything about what happened. Nova reminds Elliot of someone in his past that he couldn’t save. Will he give in and take her case? Will they be able to find out who hurt her? Will Elliot as well as his K9 Echo be able to keep her safe? Will she start remembering her past before it’s too late? This book kept me wondering and guessing. No matter what Nova was going through she held onto faith in God. I loved how Elliot was finding his way back to God. This book was full of suspense which I loved. This book goes to show no matter how hard things get God is with you. God has a plan. You may not understand His plan at the time but everything will work out. I love the Hunt family and was so happy to see Brayden and Kennedy get married during this book. I loved the ending of this book. Getting to see Elliot and Nova get the life they deserved. I can’t wait to read the next book to see Riley get his happily ever after. Overall, this book was amazing just like all of the other books I have read by her.
Jessica Ashley’s Echo sweeps readers into a story about trauma, redemption, and the raw vulnerability of healing through faith and love. At its center is Elliot “Echo” Hunt, a former soldier turned search-and-rescue hero, and a woman with no name, no past, and a gunshot wound she barely survives. As Elliot finds her unconscious on his land, tangled in creek debris, their paths collide in ways that neither expects. With themes of grace, second chances, and slow-burn romance, this Christian romantic suspense novel doesn’t hold back on emotion or intensity.
Ashley does a brilliant job of building suspense without losing the thread of heart in the story. The scene where Jane prays through Psalm 23 while escaping through the woods had me breathless. It was both terrifying and strangely beautiful. I appreciated how Ashley wove scripture organically into the story. It didn’t feel forced or preachy. Instead, it felt like a lifeline, like the characters were clinging to it as fiercely as I was turning the pages.
Elliot’s character is written with a lot of emotional depth. He’s gruff and guarded but not cold, which is a hard balance to get right. His scenes with his dog Echo and the quiet moments on the ranch gave his trauma space to breathe. What really got me was how shaken he is by her resemblance to someone he lost. That subtle heartbreak bleeds into the entire book. You can feel him holding back, afraid of letting himself hope again. I loved how the story didn’t rush his healing, or Jane’s. Their connection builds slowly, which makes it feel earned.
I also have to give a shoutout to the dialogue, which felt real and often funny, especially when Elliot is bantering with his siblings. The Hunt family dynamic is warm and chaotic in the best way, especially with Ruth (Elliot’s mom) and Lani (his sister and a doctor). You can sense how much love is in this family. That said, the book does dip heavily into past trauma and grief, and at times I felt those moments were almost too neatly resolved, but it didn’t take away from the emotional payoff.
Echo is a heartfelt story about faith, brokenness, and the quiet bravery it takes to let someone in again. It’s raw in places, gentle in others, and always anchored in hope. I’d recommend this book to anyone who loves romantic suspense with a soul, especially readers who enjoy Christian fiction that isn’t afraid to wrestle with pain. Fans of strong family dynamics, redemption arcs, and rugged heroes with tender hearts will find a lot to love here.
I finished Bravo, and it didn’t matter that it was 3 am! I had Echo and thought I’d read the first couple of pages to get a feel for the book since it was about the same family I’d come to know in Bravo.
The first sentence of Echo is, “He’s going to kill me.” Well, I certainly couldn’t stop reading there, right?!?
The next thing I knew, the sun was starting to rise. Needless to say, I was definitely hooked. The writing grips you from the very first sentence and doesn’t let go. I enjoyed the new main characters in this book while still being with the “family” I already loved. There are many suspenseful moments, sweet romance, and reminders that even when you feel like you or someone you love deserves vengeance, you are reminded that it’s not your right to seek it out. As the Bible says, “Vengeance is mine, says the Lord” (Hebrew 10:30). I love that everything I’ve read by this author throughout this book often reminds me of scripture that I know but not necessarily think about as much as I should. Make sure to add this book to your reading list! Jessica Ashley is truly a gifted writer.

A clean, Christian, suspense-filled novel! You are thrown into the action from the first word until the last! Elliot and “Jane” are thrown together with life-and-death decisions at every turn. Her loss of memory adds another layer of suspense as you journey with her during those moments of remembering. Who can you trust and who is the enemy?
This novel held my attention all the way through. There is suspense, danger, betrayal, heartache, grief, questions, doubts, and fear, but also family, friends, faith, trust, and romance. No spoilers here; you figure is out! 😁
I received a complimentary copy and these are my voluntary and honest opinions. I was not required to leave a positive review.
Echo was absolutely incredible—I loved every moment of it. Jessica Ashley really outdid herself with this one. The emotional depth hit even harder than in the previous books, and I found myself completely swept up in the characters’ journey. It had that perfect blend of heartache, healing, faith and hope that she does so well. My heart feels so full after finishing it, and I’m already counting down the days until the next instalment.
Also, I have no idea how I got so lucky, but the audiobook for Echo showed up on the Everand app right after I finished Bravo, and I dove in without hesitation. It wasn’t until I came here that I realised it technically isn’t even out yet—what a surprise treat!
Wow! The story starts with the main lady being attacked and left for dead. Elliot finds her barely clinging to life and takes the lead, albeit reluctantly, to help her rediscover her past. Elliot is haunted by the past, and Jane Doe is haunted by not having any of her memories. She becomes close to the whole Hunt family as she heals and tries to find clues about who she is and how she ended up where she did. As the two draw closer, both hold back for different reasons, but I love the pull between them. "Oftentimes, God takes what is broken and creates a masterpiece like only He can." I love the strength of family throughout – it’s so important in life. Beautiful story, great characters, I am looking forward to reading Riley’s story next! This family is fantastic.
Throughout "Echo", Jessica Ashley has spun a tale of chaos, danger, lies, and attempted murder. A woman, who is injured, is found by Elliot Hunt upon his lands. She's taken to the hospital for care and there, the danger seems to follow them, even though she has amnesia. As Elliot saved Jane Doe's life, the truth needs to be set free, with hopes that her memory will soon be restored.
As they are going clue to clue, and threat by threat, incidents end up as dangerous which interfere with finding the truth. One day, danger walks directly in her path, reaching in and tugging on her fears. As a team, can they end the fears and the attacks, letting justice prevail? I willingly give "Echo" 5 out of 5 stars and I can't wait for the next installment of this series!!
I am loving the Hunt brothers series. Suspense, danger, drama and a great romance. So good!
This was about a woman who lost her memory and is found in the river by Hunt Brother, Elliott. She is taken in and protected by the brothers after an attempt was made on her life.
Nova and Elliott had the best chemistry. He was protective and sweet but Nova wasn't a push over and as they learnt more about her, she really had a strength about her. The dynamic with all the brothers and the whole family was exactly what she needed.
So well written, a plot that kept me indulged and an amazing set of characters that portrayed the story beautifully. Amazing book!
Elliot and his brothers find a missing "Jane Doe," and as she doesn't remember her name or anything about herself, they decide to call her Jane while they investigate what happened to her.
I loved Bravo. However, I'm not sure how, but ECHO topped it. Jessica's writing is spectacular, and the detailed faith arc that she has woven with the suspense storyline is amazing.
If you enjoy christian romantic suspense stories, with themes of forgiveness, a FMC with amnesia, cute working dogs, and lots of suspense, then I would highly recommend ECHO.
I received an ARC from the author but wasn't required to leave a review.
I’m enjoying this series from Jessica Ashley so far. This is the second book I’ve read by her and I’m so very satisfied. She’s definitely getting added to my favorite suspense author list. I like that these brothers are as different as I would expect and that the similarities they share vary among them. The heroine in this story was amazing and admirable. If you like Christian suspense romance, you should definitely check this series out. The stories are best read in order, but I think you might be able to read them out of order and still enjoy them. If you’re a stickler, though, start with book one, Bravo.
He’s haunted by a past mission and Jane is haunted by the unknowns of her life. Elliott finds her barely alive and battles with his past in order to rescue her. Together they must work together to find truth and Elliott must learn to forgive himself. This was another great Christian suspense from Jessica. I felt this book had more faith relationship coverage than Bravo. It is a standalone unless you want the familial links. I like how Jessica touches on different aspects of individuals walks of faith, and how they overcome. Thanks for the advanced copy. This is my honest review.
This story follows Nova, and after losing her memories, she’s cautious about who to trust but then she meets Elliot, ready to protect her from anyone and anything.
Lost in your faith? Don’t worry! Pick up this book and you’ll learn more about the Creator and maybe even strengthen your relationship with Him.
Although, get the tissues ready because you will cry. 😭 But at the same time, you’ll LOVE the Hunt brothers!! Because the ending!!!
Awesome read. I like a good amnesia story, and Ashley did a great job of spinning an awesome suspense plot around an amnesia victim. And this author excels at creating great and likable characters. Both Nova and Elliot were the perfect characters for this story. And I liked the fact that the author had Elliot struggling with his faith and she wasn't afraid to all a faith element to weave into the story. This was awesomely epic. Glad I discovered this author.
Jessica has completely cemented herself as one of my must read Christian fiction suspense authors. Her stories are the perfect blend of fantastic characters, fabulous storylines, and natural feeling romances. Echo was a wonderful read. The suspense aspects were perfectly done and the book was well plotted. I loved this story!
I received an ARC From the author and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts on my own.
I was provided a copy of this e-book by the author. All opinions are my own.
An amnesia victim, she's left for dead. Elliot and Echo find her barely alive. It becomes a game of cat and mouse. Will Jane Doe remember who she is and why she was shot? Will Elliot be able to protect her as she recovers her memory?
This is the 2nd book in the Hunt Brothers Search and Rescue series.
Yep, that's right, that's 6 stars you see! I couldn't give this book enough stars! Action packed and sizzling, tangible chemistry between Elliot and "Jane Doe" (her real name would be a spoiler) And that ending?! THAT. ENDING! was absolutely perfect!!!! I cannot wait to read Romeo! Love the hunt brothers and their women!
*Clean, Christian romantic suspense *Amnesia *Renewing of faith *characters who pray 😊
This is an excellent read!!!! Absolutely love Jessica Ashley, she knows how to tell a story and keep you on the edge of the page. Loved the adventure, scary bad guys, it's amazing to me the scarier the bad guys are the bigger the coward they are. So looking forward to book three, and see the brothers look to GOD to get the job done. Just learned about Jessica Ashley and her beautiful writing abilities. GOD Bless you Jessica
Who says Christian romance is boring? Certainly not me! This story is full of clean romance, intense suspense and lots of emotion! "Jane Doe" is left for dead and has no memories but is found by Elliot and brought to the Hunt family ranch. Through their journey of attempting to solve her attempted murder and her mystery identity, they fall for each other. Faith-romance-such an emotional ride! I am obsessed with this series and am starting book #3 right now!
From the very first page, this story captivated my attention! Not only will you be sitting on the edge of your seat, you will be swooning at the banter and romance. If you want a christian "who did this to you" with steam but zero spice... this book is it! Such a fun and fast read and I look forward to the upcoming books!
I received a digital copy of this book but this is my honest review.
Really enjoyed this story. I liked the fact that the "damsel in distress" was a smart, capable woman. I also liked that "Jane Doe" led Elliott back to church and he only went to support her but it also led to healing for him.
This story kept me up reading way past my bedtime because it was so riveting that I couldn't put it down.

I first discovered Jessica Ashley a few months ago and I have devoured her books!!
Nova and Elliott have become two of my favorite characters. From page one I was thrown into a high action, suspense filled romance. Intertwined with moments of doubts and fears with their relationship with the God who created the universe.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am anxiously waiting for the next!!
I am such a big fan of Jessica Ashley‘s books. I love her Coastal Hope series and I’m growing to love the Hunt Brothers series.
This is booked two of that series. Elliot‘s story. I’ve said before in reviews that I’m not a huge fan of amnesia stories but this one made total sense and really worked well. I love the layers that are peeled back as Jane Doe comes to learn more about her true identity. I love how she may not have memories, but she can sense when something is real and something isn’t. And I absolutely love how Jessica weaves faith into her stories.
Lots of action, tension, danger, and even a bit of romance in this one. 🥰
I’ve never read Jessica Ashley before Echo, but after Echo, I have definitely found another author that I enjoy. I was blown away by the story, the characters and Jessica’s writing style.
I received an advanced reader’s copy from the author. Opinions are my own.
Another really good book about the Hunt brothers, this time it focuses on Elliott and his dog, Echo, who find a woman stranded on a branch partially submerged in the cold river on their ranch property. The woman has been shot and has amnesia, so they call her Jane, and thus begins the story.
Teaming up former Navy SEALS with well trained dogs and an element of romance with a smart, independent woman! The making of a great damsel in distress book! Add in the fact they are both Christians and my worlds collided. Really well written. I enjoyed this one and look forward to more!
I’m obsessed with theses books. They keep me on my toes, and they are all so unique. I love how in this one, Elliot was the one with the walls up. I feel like it is usually the female, so this was a nice change! Elliot and Nova’s story was so beautiful!!!
