Being publicly rejected by her mate isn't the worst thing that has happened to Sutton Ellis.
Fate brought her and Jagger together when he saved her from a sadistic witch then guarded her until she recovered—but the gruff, stern hellhound insisted he didn't care what the fates wanted and left her for Hell.
However, when a member of her coven goes missing and Sutton's fierce determination to find her friend lands her in life-or-death trouble, Jagger returns. And this time the sinfully sexy beast intends to be her giant, growly shadow.
Sutton can't resist Jagger, or his determination to win her back. But her coven's safety must come first. She'll do whatever it takes to protect them...even if it means giving up her only chance at love...
Sherilee Gray is a kiwi girl and lives in beautiful New Zealand with her husband and their two children. When she isn't writing sexy contemporary and paranormal romance, searching for her next alpha hero on Pinterest, or fueling her voracious book addiction, she can be found dreaming of far off places with a mug of tea in one hand and a bar of chocolate in the other.
From the opening chapter, this book had me by the throat and didn’t let go. Sutton and Jagger’s story is packed with angst and heartache, high stakes danger, and a swoony romance that scorches. And when I say the steam is nuclear, I mean it. This author knows exactly how to turn up the heat while still giving me all the emotional gut punches I crave.
Jagger made me furious at first. He shattered Sutton’s heart and walked away like what they had didn’t matter. I was so glad she didn’t let him off the hook. He had to work his way back in, and I loved his slow, growly, intensity as he pursued her. There’s just something about a broken, broody hellhound fighting for his woman that hits in all the right places.
I’m officially obsessed with these hellhounds. I don’t usually love series, but this world? These characters? I want more! If you love your romance with magic, monsters, and redemption, this one promises to deliver.
I love Sherilee’s hellhounds!! They are so fierce, possessive and just allround delish! Jagger was a bit different in that he denies the connection in the beginning, because he has been led to believe he can’t have a mate. But as soon as he finds out that Sutton is actually his mate, all bets are off! He needs to do a lot of groveling and I’m totally here for that. We get an interesting plot, lovable side characters (I love how protective hellhounds are of females) and scorching spice. Can’t wait for the next book in this series!
Safety: - OW: When H comes back from hell (after h kissed him a few months prior) she sees him with his arm around OW. H tells her he is not her mate (he is still in denial) and OW laughs at her and films her. h very upset and leaves crying. H didn’t do anything with OW after that moment (he chases her to the parking lot). H has been celibate since meeting h. - OM1: h is being blackmailed by bad guys. One of them forces her to kiss him (in public) a few times. She is disgusted by him, but has no choice. Makes H crazy to have another male touch his woman. - OM2: h sends a picture of herself and OM to H. Nothing happened, it just looked like it did. H gets jealous (he is still being stupid at this time, so it was deserved 😅) - No cheating - Separation after first kiss (H still thinks he can’t have a mate). Both celibate. No third act break up.
4.5 stars: Sherilee Gray certainly has a unique manner in entangling you within her stories so smoothly that I could not help, but thoroughly enjoy the experience. This is Sutton and Jagger's story. Sutton has just come out of her ordeal with the Chemist and Jagger symbolises everything she needed- safety and protection. For a short bit I did worry that the realisation that they are fated came too quickly, but the author managed to twist things and push everything in quite an engaging direction.
My heart really went to Sutton, she was absolutely selfless here as she attempted to protect everyone except herself. Jagger was the one that did bug me quite a bit at first. The story develops beautifully and once some light was shred as to Jaggers past, things started to fall into place. That does not mean that the MMC did not have to work for it, he most certainly made amends for his poor choices.
I really liked that Sutton was a healer and along with some like- minded individuals, she did offer medical services to supernaturals. She started off quite timid and unsure of herself, but after striking a deal with Rune and Lucifer, going through the hoops with Jagger and mostly, risking her life to discover a devious plot, she did grow as a person and an individual.
Eventually, when the romance bloomed and Jagger accepted the possibility of giving himself a chance, the adoration and devotion he offered the FMC was wonderful to follow.
I am really enjoying this magical world that the author has created, hope there is more to come not just with the hounds, but with demons as well. If you like a good paranormal romance, this might be just up your alley.
Where to even begin? Absolute 5 stars ⭐. I was so excited for Sutton and Jagger's story and it honestly exceeded all my expectations.
Small spoiler/Trigger Warning - there is mention of infant loss, so please keep that in mind.
Sutton, bless her little heart, was so sweet and I was so freaking angry for the way Jagger treated her (you'll know when you read it), especially when after I found out Sutton's background. And then, I couldn't even stay mad at Jagger because of plotwist #1!! His story was so heartbreaking and even though it does not excuse his actions, it does provide context.
One of my favourite things in Sherilee's books is how she establishes trust between main characters and it's always "us against the world" that I absolutely adore. I don't know how, but Sherilee perfectly pairs her MCs together.
This book was very emotional but it also had funny moments 👇🏻
SPOILER QUOTES BELOW
“And what else?”“Your cologne, it’s yummy.” He grinned again. “I don’t wear cologne.”“Oh.” --> I will also be starting a petition for Rune's story. It's a need at this point!
Brick lifted his hands. “Your female, brother,” he said, then to me under his breath, “Who the fuck is this guy?”
A big thank you to Sherilee Gray for an ARC copy of this book. I truly loved it. 💖
This was a really great story. I probably should have started with the first book (I know) just so I'm familiar with other characters, but it's ok. I thought this was a really well done rejected mate story. Sutton and Jagger were both great characters. I appreciated seeing how Sutton stood up for herself and didn't immediately fold to him after he realized how badly he messed up. I definitely will be continuing this series and highly recommend giving this a read.
3.5 stars! This was interesting for me. I love this author and will read anything she puts out…but this one felt rushed?
The connection wasn’t as strong between Sutton & Jagger as the previous book. The story line wasn’t as good - or as convincing.
It wasn’t bad - but the first book in the series was better.
This was interesting enough where I needed to see the twists and turns, and where they ended up, but at the same time I’m more excited to read the next book than I was to learn more about Sutton and jagger.
These Hellhounds win me over every time!! I can't say I've ever thought of cozy-ing up to one, but each book makes it super tempting to run out and find the biggest dog and snuggle up with one.😂
To place you in my mind, while reading, I imagine Relic, from the last book, as a hyperactive golden retriever and Jagger as a junk yard dog.😂 Yes, this is the spectrum I have for these Hellhounds and I'm sticking to it. It is in no way how Sherilee writes them, well perhaps personality wise, get to know them and you'll get my drift. 😉 Jagger is one of the older hounds, so he's seen a lot and certainly been around a long time, hence the junk yard dog reference. I feel those dogs are tough because they are older, wiser, a bit roughed up and don't take crap from anyone. That's Jagger in a nutshell, but he does have a soft underbelly, especially when it comes to Sutton. He begins this book all gruff and aloof, but once he taps in he's ALL in, it just takes him a while to display it.
Sutton comes across as Jagger's complete opposite. Yes, this gives her huge character growth from start to finish as she goes from this wide eyed princess type where she's kind of waiting for Prince Charming to save the day to a full on warrior princess and becomes a witchy badass in her own right. It's a hard fought process that made me wish she'd stayed the sweet princess multiple times, but in the end it was amazing to witness her transformation. Sutton is another strong female character to add to Sherilee's resume and totally well done. 😍
Jagger also has big emotional growth, as most of the hounds do. While he spends the first part denying every kind of emotional attachment, once he realizes what's happening to him, to Sutton, actually to both of them, he's pretty quick to catch up to grovel-town and mate-ville. He's one of the older hounds so he's familiar with emotions, he initially just didn't want them. 😂 These poor men never can stay away for long, but I don't blame them, the females are just awesome! 😉
As with each book, there is an intense adventure before they can completely fall for one another, but it's that suspense that drives the story. It's high pressure and worth all the stakes because isn't that what love is all about!😍
As for the future, I'd be happy with so many stories coming from this world. There are a lot of hounds I'd love to see stories from, along with a few demons. Yes, I said it! Rune, with all of his captivating and soul-stealing powers would be awesome to see fall to his knees. I just want Sherilee to keep writing for forever basically. 😍
Absolutely loved this next instalment of the Hellhound Heat by Sherilee🙌 Jagger and Sutton gave me all the feels while they worked through all their issues with a couple of large surprises along the way😳
I won’t say much more as you have a bunch of hellhound deliciousness coming your way with as usual a bit of danger where they get all growly and protective🥰
I’m excited for more in this series and I can wait…totally here for it❣️ I received an advanced copy and voluntarily leave my honest review😈
I wish I could rate in 1/2's because this was actually 4.5 stars for me!! I got an advance copy to read, and it did not let down!! I really enjoyed the way she took a known story line and added some twist to it. I also really was happy with the introduction of new characters and potential future stories/plots that leave me angsty for every new book she dishes out for the whole series!! Well done Ms. Gray, well done!!

This is my first full read in months. Unfortunately, real life doesn’t stop irrespective of how much I want to drown in my TBR.
Bad Magic started off so good. It was clear that Sutton and Jagger had a connection, something tying them together, something beyond Sutton’s trauma (which hardly comes up later btw)
I felt so bad for Sutton, the way in which she was publicly humiliated, it was awful. Unfortunately, that was the last time I really rooted for her. After Jagger rejected her, not because he didn’t want her, but because he thought he could never find his mate, it’s like she completely changed. Not in terms of her personality, but her voice and the tone of the character.
It was ironic really, that throughout the book, Jagger was the one who seemed emotional and Sutton seemed like she was just another placeholder character. She’d say the right things, think the right things, but I did not feel like she loved Jagger. In fact, I didn’t feel the emotional connection between them at all. Which truly sucks, because had that not been the case, I would’ve loved this book. I just couldn’t believe their relationship.
I was also angry on Sutton’s behalf, why did men other than her mate get so intimate with her? I get that she was not in control of the situation, but it felt very gross to read about. It also didn’t feel like she particularly hated that, irrespective of what she was apparently thinking. Again, she would say the right things but they didn’t carry any weight. Also, Jagger thinking how he’d had years to perfect his oral giving skills wasn’t something I really wanted to know. 🤮 That one conversation when they’re finally getting intimate is so painfully cringe. 😖
I probably missed out on a few interactions of theirs because I refuse to read Relic’s book. I know hounds are tactile animals and crave touch, but I remember him being hard for the FMC of the last book of the previous series. He was willing to dick her down the night before he met Fern, his mate. 🤮🫠 That just left a really bad taste in my mouth and if I miss out a little, so be it. If Jag was a manwhore too, I’m choosing to ignore it for my sanity.
The redeeming qualities of this book were the smut (holy smokes), the fact that Jag and Sutton have been celibate since they met each other, poor baby Kurgan and Lenny, and the anticipation of Roxy and Lothar. I was more interested in Kurgan and rooting for him to finally get his mate🥺 I guess he won’t get his HEA anytime soon since Roxy and Lothar are next. Roxy is going to make me love her, I’m sure. Although, I wonder how Loth fucked up… There’s also another couple I think are going to be endgame (R+Z. Maybe?)
Note to self: Lucifer, Rune are manwhores. Maybe don’t read their books when they come out?
4.25stars-BAD MAGIC is the second instalment in Sherilee Gray’s adult HELLHOUND HEAT erotic, paranormal, fantasy romance series, a spin off from the author’s THE THORNHEART TRIALS series. This is hellhound Jagger, and supernatural EMT/ witch/demon hybrid Sutton’s story line. BAD MAGIC can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. For fans of the author, the series was original title HELL ON WHEELS but is now HELLHOUND HEAT
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Jagger and Sutton) BAD MAGIC follows in the aftermath of the humiliation of our story line heroine. After a fateful kiss from Jagger, Sutton quickly realizes the hellhound is her mate but Jagger refuses to accept our heroine, publicly humiliating her in the process. When one of Sutton’s friends goes missing, out heroine finds herself pulled into a world of drugs, human and supernatural trafficking, where she is forced to work for her friend’s freedom, including asking for a favor from someone who can take her soul. Desperate to protect the woman with whom he will fall in love, Jagger becomes guardian and protector of our story line heroine, only to realize he had been wrong about Sutton all along. Meanwhile, Jagger’s past continues to haunt our story line hero, and Lucifer is keeping a secret that is about to destroy his world..
The world building is detailed and complex as our couple are pulled into the bowels of H*ll to search for Sutton’s missing coven witch Luke, and discover there are more beings missing than Sutton’s friend. Rejected by her own mother, and her coven, Sutton has found a family in a coven of hybrid witches, one of whom is missing in the wake of a fight for power in H*ll.
The relationship between Sutton and Jagger is a friends to enemies to frenemies to lovers. Jagger’s rejection of Sutton broke something inside of our story line heroine but a few words from Lucifer finds Jagger on the prowl for the woman that will control his heart. Believing she is nothing more than a pawn in Jagger’s world, Sutton begins to slowly withdraw from the man with whom she had fallen in love. The $ex scenes are provocative and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is another large ensemble cast of energetic and powerful secondary and supporting characters from the Thornheart Trials and the Knights of Hell series (Chaos, Gunner, Zenon). We are introduced to Brick, Dirk, Lucifer’s demon Rune, demons Tarrant and Poe, Hellhound siblings Zuri and Kurgan, as well as the return of Lothar, Relic, Warrick, Lucifer and Beelzebub.
BAD MAGIC is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, heart break and forgiveness, secrets and lies, acceptance and love. The premise is dramatic, dark and edgy; the romance is fated and seductive; the characters are desperate, determined and magical.
All Sherilee Gray books are a must-read for me. This latest turn in the "Hellhound Heat" series set in the Roxbury world did not disappoint. It had everything a great story should have and Ms. Gray put it all together with her usual finesse of spice and just the right amount of gore. As soon as I started the story, I knew I was going to finish it faster than I wanted to, because it was hard to put down.
It picked up right where Book 1 left off, though it stands just fine on it's own. Otherworldly Witches, Hounds, Demons, Handmaidens, an Angel or two, and even Lucifer work together to rid their world of a bigger evil that is coming. The story was full of angst, misunderstanding, and love, with a little humor sprinkled in here and there. Like all of the Roxbury stories (which now include 3 series), family bonds (both blood and found) played a large part in the characters' lives. Jagger and Sutton are fated to be together though Sutton falls first and Jagger resists. Of course he comes around and has to work his way back into Sutton's heart. I'm not sure how she resisted him--he is big, handsome, protective, and loves to be touched, as all the Hounds are, and he is just what her heart needs.
Ms. Gray has left this otherworld wide open, though Jagger and Sutton's story is complete--we know there are bigger and scarier things to come. Lucifer is up to something and we can only guess what at this point. He's been keeping secrets. I look forward to seeing how the twists and turns come as they play out through Kurgan and Lenny's, and Roman and Zuri's stories coming to light.
** I was given an advanced copy of this book and am leaving a review completely from my heart.
I really enjoyed this book! From the start, the dynamic between the characters pulled me in—especially the tension between Sutton and Jagger. Jagger was frustratingly stubborn at first, refusing the mating bond and pushing Sutton away even though it was obvious there was something deep between them. Sutton, on the other hand, was such a strong and independent character. She’s been through abandonment and loss, yet still had the courage to want love and connection. Watching her finally give up on being claimed was heartbreaking but powerful.
Once Jagger finally woke up and realized what he had, it wasn’t a smooth ride. Sutton didn’t just forgive him right away—she made him earn back her trust, and honestly, I respected that so much. That part of their relationship felt really real to me.
The plot took a wild turn when one of Sutton’s coven members made a huge mistake, forcing her to work with demons to fix the mess. Things escalated quickly after that, with Rune, the Knights, hellhounds, and even Lucifer himself getting involved. Sutton risked everything to help stop the demons from harming humans and demis. She ends up getting kidnapped and dragged to Hell, which—yeah, intense—but she doesn’t just survive, she uncovers a whole plot and gathers the proof needed to stop a demon lord from trying to take over.
This book had action, romance, emotional depth, and strong characters. I loved how Sutton stayed true to herself through everything. If you like stories with slow-burn romance, badass female leads, supernatural politics, and a touch of Hellfire, I’d definitely recommend this one.
Devious secrets This was gifted as an ARC for an honest review, I have been excited for this one since we met both characters in Bad demon. This starts off Sutton and Jagger who make a great couple, and this kind of continues with the ending of bad demon and Sutton being unsettled and scared after her torture and very traumatic experience from her kidnapping with the scars that litter her body as a daily reminder of what she has survived. Jagger seems to be the only one who can calm her but gets called back to hell. Naturally Sutton tries to continue her life but decides to hunt down her missing coven friend Luke who she feels is like a brother to her. This ends up with Sutton getting into some very hot water. Jagger sure did need a mountain to smack some sense into him. But in true hellhound fashion he grovelled. The world building, the characters and humour are second to none. Sherilee sucks you into the pages, with her magic spells. There are a few Unanswered questions that I hope will get answered In the next book ? Fingers and toes crossed. Lucifer definitely has some aces up his sleeve, I wonder what else he is up to ? It was also nice to see the knights get brought in for a little cameo visit. Let the shenanigans continue, I have a feeling we are in for a big bombshell between Lothar and Ursula. Can’t wait for release day so I can have this beaut to add to my library collection the cover is gorgeous. The next book is already on preorder. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Sherilee Gray delivers another spellbinding hit with Bad Magic, a dark paranormal romance that blends danger, desire, and deep emotional connection. At the heart of the story are Jagger, an immortal hellhound tormented by his past, and Sutton, a powerful hybrid demon-witch whose courage and heart shine through on every page.
The pacing of the novel is beautifully measured, allowing readers to sink into the slow-burn romance that develops between the two main characters. Sutton is a standout heroine - selfless, strong and endlessly loyal. Her bravery in the face of darkness, always putting her coven and even Jagger’s wellbeing above her own emotions and self-preservation, makes her one of the most compelling and admirable characters Sherilee has ever created.
Jagger’s journey is equally gripping. Watching him wrestle with his emotions and slowly come to the life-altering realization that Sutton is his true mate is both heartwarming and heartbreaking. Sherilee masterfully balances the darkness of their world with the warmth of their evolving connection, making each romantic moment feel earned and impactful.
With rich action scenes, and new intriguing characters introduced, Bad Magic opens the door to a promising continuation of this universe of Hellhound Heat. It’s a story that lingers long after the final page.
I was gifted an ARC for my honest review. :) Thank you Sherilee for another amazing book.
✨ Sherilee Gray does it again! Bag Magic is emotional, intense, and completely unputdownable.
From the opening chapter, I was hooked. Sutton stole my heart immediately. She’s got the reputation for being the soft one, the sweet one. But wow, does she prove her strength when life knocks her down. All she wants is love and acceptance, and watching her fight for her own peace had me teary-eyed more than once.
And Jagger... poor, stubborn, wounded Jagger. He’s trying to protect his heart, but all it takes is one wrong assumption (no spoilers!) and he spirals into a mess of guilt, regret, and longing. Watching him work through it, and truly fight for Sutton, was both agonizing and so, so satisfying.
Sherilee Gray is a master at blending raw emotion with sizzling chemistry. Every scene crackled with tension. Whether it was heartache, heat, or gut-punch revelations. She crafts secondary characters you can’t help but love, sprinkles in suspense and drama at just the right pace, and never forgets to give her heroes and heroines real depth. I also loved how she wove in ties to other characters from her world. It always makes her books feel like a homecoming.
At 350+ pages, Bag Magic still wasn’t long enough for me. I didn’t want to leave Sutton and Jagger behind, and I can’t wait to see where this series takes us next. Sherilee Gray remains a one click buy for me, every single time.
Hellhound Heat spin-off is shaping up to be just as addictive as the Thornheart Trials. Book 2: Sutton & Jagger (aka Charming) absolutely delivers.
Sutton has been through hell more times than anyone should. Rejected again and again by the very people who were meant to love her, she somehow still remains a deeply compassionate and caring witch. Her healing magic isn’t just a power, it’s the core of who she is. When she realises Jagger is her mate she’s filled with hope finally believing she’ll have someone who loves her simply for being her.
But then Jagger rejects her shattering that hope and adding another painful crack to Sutton’s already bruised heart.
Convinced he’s immune to having a mate, Jagger misses all the obvious signs, until those around him deliver a much needed metaphorical slap to the back of the head. By the time he finally understands what he’s done, the damage is deep. Sutton is heartbroken and determined to push him away.
With bigger powers at play, they’re forced to work together, whether they’re ready or not.
We also get insight into Jagger’s children, which explains why he believed mating was never an option for him, adding real depth to his character.
Now I’m crossing my fingers that Zuri gets her own book… preferably with Rome. Would also love to see Kurgan get a redemption story with Lenny.
Bonus Epilogue: a year on, Sutton, Jagger, Relic & Fern attend the conclave. Both females pregnant.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I liked this much more than book one. I didn't enjoy a lot of the drama that was created by the entire "rejected" nonsense.
Sutton came across a bit emotionally immature imo when it all went down. Not initially, because the way she was rejected sucked massively and I understood her feelings and thoughts immediately after it happened. Especially after it was also filmed and shared online. Just awful stuff. But... well I just didn't enjoy her thoughts or personality during the whole "I hate jagger" era when she was having nothing to do with him.
That's on me though. As the reader you see the situation and experiences these characters go through and you either agree with their handling of it or you don't all based off how you yourself might handle it. Just me own annoyances playing a part really.
I liked Jagger but not much until more than halfway through. I felt for everything he'd been through and especially the entire history behind Kurgan etc. I truly didn't like him or his behavior towards Sutton until we learned a lot more of his history and why he rejected the idea of her as his mate in the beginning.
Overall through it was interesting. I found the last half of the book much more interesting than the first tbh.
I am especially intrigued by the next book with Roxy and Lothar. WHAT WILL HE REMEMBER?!? I need to know!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving this review.
Bad Magic is an absolute emotional roller coaster—in the best way! 🎢💥 Sherilee Gray nails the rejected mates trope (which is always tricky for me!) by giving us just enough backstory for us to understand Jagger’s dumb dumb behaviour early on. And shoutout to Sutton for not just rolling over the second he came crawling back—her strength and boundaries made the hard won love all the more satisfying.
The romance hits hard, but it’s so well balanced with the overarching plot. Mafia-style extortion, coup attempts, and all the gritty magical goodness we’ve come to expect in this world—it all weaves together seamlessly with the love story.
I continue to love this universe Gray has been building ever since the Knights of Hell series. The lore is rich, the stakes are high, and the hounds—bless them—are the most endearing band of emotionally stunted, headstrong, lovable meatballs in fantasy romance. 🐺❤️ When these guys fall, they fall hard, and it’s a true sight to behold.
Already counting down to Roxy and Lothar’s book!! And hoping some of the side couples hinted at here get their long-overdue HEAs too. Sherilee Gray does not miss.
These hounds are so addicting! Jagger and Sutton light the pages on fire with their yearning, passion, and fight. This story was so thrilling it gripped me from page one and was unputdownable! If you're looking for a fated mates story with action, suspense, and amazing storyline, make sure to pick this one up.
Jagger was such an amazing MMC. Even as a hound, his heart was so big. Yes, he was completely clueless sometimes, but when you find out why, goodness! I wanted to punch Lucifer! When Jag realizes that Sutton really is his mate, he pursues her and doesn’t give up. Sutton had been rejected by her family and coven. She's never really had anyone choose her. It broke my heart! I loved how fierce and brave she was. Sutton did everything she could to fight for the ones she cared about. Their path to their HEA was hard won and perfect.
Sherilee is so talented with her storytelling and writing. I could feel the characters emotions through the pages! I can't recommend her books enough. Goodness! I need more of this series!
Where do I even begin? Bad Magic was an experience, an ahhmazing one. I loved it. It was jam packed with surprises, action twists, turns, steam, secrets, betrayal and so much more. It was such a wild and awesome ride. It had me fully engaged from the get. I was emotionally invested from start to finish. I felt for these characters and the things they'd been through. I couldn't bear to put it down and was so excited to pick it back up and dive back into it. I loved Jagger and Sutton’s story. It was so much more than I expected. It surprised me in the best of ways. I loved the rejected mates storyline and watching them overcome that and all that was thrown their way. I have to say it again I loved it and so can't wait for rest of the series especially with the things that went down in this one. I very highly recommend it.
Ahhhhhhhh thank you to Sherilee for gifting me with an Arc of her most recent book in the Hell Hounds series. Jagger and Sutton’s story did not disappoint! I loved how their characters developed and grew together through both of their struggles in life. Their book not only ended in a heart wrenching HEA but added so much to Sherilee’s world with new characters and plot lines to be discovered moving forward. I don’t know how she keeps doing it. So excited for her next installment! Make sure you read Bad Magic to get all the warm and fuzzies for Jag and Sutton! Truly a page turner I couldn’t put down!
Sherille's books never fail to pull me out of my reading slump & once again I was blown away with this book. I recirved this book as an ARC & yhe way she is able to create such an amazing world & characters will always leave me salivating for the next release.
Sutton & Jagger are two very scarred people who need each other to heal & move forward in life. The best thing about these two is Sutton is not that FMC who just gives in & takes back the MMC when he messes up; he had to actually work & prove himself to her. The build up is everything between these two & the possessiveness gave me goosebumps. I can not WAIT for the next in the series
Sherilee Gray will forever be one of my favorite authors to get me out of a slump. I can always count on her books to be well written and capture my attention, and this book was no exception! Jagger and Sutton were such a good addition to the Hellhoud world. I loved getting to see past characters and how they fit into the continuing story. Ms Gray has me excited about upcoming storylines/couples (Kurgan & Lenny and Rome & Zuri maybe??). Anyways, well done and I can’t wait to see where else the world will take us next.
Enthralling! 🖤🔥 This book is everything I was hoping for and so much more! 😍 Sutton and Jagger's story is so intense and swoony, they really had it rough and getting to be together was a painful journey, but so freaking worth it! 🙌🏻🥰 I also love having all the characters from this world constantly interacting, I just love them all and can't get enough! 🤗 The hellhounds turned out to be one of the hottest shifters I have read about 🥵; can't wait to read the next book in this fantastic series! ❤️
I received an ARC for this and Sherilee never dissapoints. Now I am not a slow burn fan and this is testiment to Sherilee's writing that I didn't even realise it was because the story is so good. These two have their own emotional turmoil from previous situations and to see them overcome them to be together is beautiful. I do love when the MMC thinks he can reject fate, when they fall its all worth it.
This book tore me up. The emotional rollercoaster with this book was winding with so many twist and turns. Jagger made me so angry in the beginning and then when you get his story, it cracks your heart open. And poor Sutton, she had been through it. Storyline was amazing and the twist at the end was great. Can’t wait for the next installment.
Jagger broke my heart and had me crying so hard at the beginning of this tale. Fortunately, he was able to redeem himself with the sweet and shy Sutton. There are so many things happening, and I absolutely loved it!
Another great book from Sherilee! I love the hounds and their stories and it was nice to bring some of her other characters in. I found it to be a little slow in the middle but the end made up for it!
