Award-winning and bestselling author and physician Jillian David quickly writes then slowly edits medical romance, paranormal romance, and romantic suspense books. She loves to use medical situations and characters to drive drama in her books. Her favorite cell is the platelet and her least-favorite organ is the pancreas. She fully believes that curse words, when appropriately deployed during surgery, are hemostatic. Which also explains why no book of hers will ever bleed out...

According to multiple starred reviews, Jillian's books cause sleep deprivation and a drop in productivity, as well as visceral responses from her vivid descriptions -- side effects which might qualify as a breach of her Hippocratic Oath to 'do no harm.'

- "(T)his (writer) can make you twist around in your seat in an effort to not pee yourself from fear."
- "Jillian writes incredibly interesting characters in situations that keep you reading late into the night, even if you have to work the next morning."

We are back in The Yukon Valley, Alaska for another wonderful romance it is spring now and that means Break-Up Festival the ice is melting and hearts are opening up as well, will we see Widow Deidre Steen find love again, when the man who was not only her husband’s best friend but also hers returns to home to help out with his parents.

Deidre works very hard these days firstly as administration officer at the hospital and also working on the family property where they are now getting lots of visitors for holidays but when Dr. Calvin Garrett returns and is working at the hospital, he also brings back lots of memories from her past you see he left and she married Elijah but when Calvin left all those years ago he took a piece of her heart with him.

Calvin has returned to help out with his parents for a short break but working at the hospital and being around Deidre opens up his heart so much, yes he left years ago but she has always been in his heart, is there a chance that they could become more than friends now?

Their workmates and members of the community are doing their best at match-making so Calvin and Deidre decide fake dating might keep them of their backs but where will this lead to?

This is another fabulous story in this series one that I highly recommend, sensual and wonderful as Calvin and Deidre work through the past and come out in the future, I loved it and am looking forward to another trip to The Yukon Valley.

My thanks to Tule Publishing for my digital copy to read and review.

Paging Dr. Breakup reads as a standalone romance. The series features a suspenseful arc focusing on the Yukon Valley’s land. To avoid spoilers, I suggest starting with Dr. Alaska, although David does a good job updating new readers.

Diedre Steen has grown up in the Yukon Valley. She married one of her best friends despite having feels for his best friend/her best friend. Dr. Calvin Garrett left Alaska when it was clear his childhood friend had fallen for his best friend. He’s now back to help his ailing father and accepted a temporary position at Yukon Valley Hospital.

A heartwarming romance blossoms as former best friends pretend to date to avoid hospital staff’s matchmaking attempts, creating a captivating story. Yet, past emotions, miscommunication, and undeniable chemistry cause the pretense to feel genuine. I found myself invested.

I loved being back at the hospital, but missed time with the sled dogs. I liked both Diedre and Calvin. Their chemistry felt genuine, and it was fun seeing them open up. The staff at the hospital felt like family, as did Calvin’s parents. His Dad is ornery and made me laugh.

The suspenseful series arc concerning land in the Yukon Valley, in particular the mountain. Our shady villain was back to stir up trouble. While this is a side thread, it did push the romance and allowed us to get to know the community.

If you love small-town romance, medical romances and beautiful Alaska, you’ll want to grab Paging Dr. Breakup. This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer

Nurse Deidre Steen and Dr. Calvin Garrett don’t realize it, but they’re about to get a second chance at love. Like usually happens though, true love never arrives without some pain. They had been childhood friends, separated when Calvin went off to school. Deidre’s faced much loss in that time: her husband, also a friend of Calvin’s, and her parents. Meeting up again in the halls of Yukon Valley Hospital takes them both by surprise, and they’re both determined not to impose on the other. But family and friends have a different idea, and Deidre and Calvin will find themselves entering into a false courtship to distract the town’s busybodies.

This book is centered in and around the Yukon Valley Hospital in Yukon Valley, Alaska. It’s filled with doctors, nurses, EMTs, support staff, and a good dose of emergency medical cases. The characters are well developed and face not only medical tragedies but also their own fears and grief, and they learn different ways to deal with those difficult emotions. Doing so will allow them to come to terms with other important feelings. I would definitely say that the theme of this book is aimed at adults. It gets quite hot and steamy at times.

This is book two in this series and follows closely on what transpires in book one. Reading the books in order will help the reader to understand the background of the story and the characters. I think it could be read as a standalone, but reading in order will help.

Yukon Valley is a small, rural Alaska town. It’s situated right at the foot of the Ray Mountain Range. When residents are again approached about allowing some interested parties passage on their lands to Bureau of Land Management properties, some unfriendly things start to happen.

I enjoyed this book. I did think that at times, the dialogue got a bit cheesy, but overall this friendship-to-lovers tale was enjoyable. The title of the book refers to the ice breaking up on the river, and a celebration that accompanies it. That reminded me of an episode of the TV show, Northern Exposure.

This was a quick, fun read. I look forward to the next book in the series.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the publisher, Tule. I thank all involved for their generosity, but it had no effect on this review. All opinions in this review reflect my true and honest reactions to reading this book

Good Read

Enjoyed the continuation of Yukon Valley. Deirdre and Calvin were met for each other. Had a few hip cups along the way misinterpreting each other. Loved all the characters. Good read.

“My future has been trapped in my past for a long time. I want to exist in the present. Can you be in the present with me, Deirdre?” - Calvin Garrett

How do you know it's time to stop letting your past write your future? And what does it take to finally choose happiness, even when it feels like the scariest thing in the world?

Calvin Garrett has been in love with Deirdre Steen ever since they were kids. Unfortunately, so was his - now dead - best friend, who later married her. Now, with his father needing medical attention, he's back in his hometown in Yukon Valley, ready to act like the perfect doctor and perfect son who will hopefully take his parents out of that little town in the middle of nowhere - and ignore his feelings for the only woman he could never have. Which becomes even more difficult when Deirdre, in need of a break from the town's matchmakers and meddlers, proposes an arrangement: fake dating each other to keep the people from sticking their noses in their business. Sounds like the perfect plan, right? I mean, what could possibly go wrong?

What a brilliant mess of confusion and misunderstandings this book was! OK, obviously not for our lead characters, but for us, the readers, it was fun to watch - and heartbreaking, too, at times. Full of intense shared moments and drama, humor and just the right amount of spice and tension. Not to mention the suspense, because Randy is back, and boy this guy is getting more serious for those acres of land!

Deirdre and Calvin were a delight as a leading couple.

The first is scared, quite understandably, because she has faced loss in the most tragic of ways in her life, and Calvin's reactions most of the times don't exactly help her ignore all that. But she still makes a conscious choice to not let her fear rule her life anymore, and she's quite level-headed about most of the decisions she comes up with.

Calvin, on the other hand, had a loooong journey before he came to realize that he's not defined by comparison to Elijah, he has to define himself now. That he was always enough just like that.

It's an intense journey for both of them, with tons of external threats and a pressuring work schedule in between their moments, and it was quite interesting seeing them try to juggle all that while attempting to build something solid, together, fooling themselves more than fooling the rest of the Valley. Spekaing of, can I just say how much I missed this town? Sure, it's the type of community that doesn't leave you with a lot of privacy, but its people care - they celebrate your happiness, cry for your loss, and are ready to become one terrifying unit against any who dare try to harm one of their own.

Another page-turner by Jillian David, which, at this point, doesn't really shock me!

“My heart wants you, Calvin.” - Deirdre Steen

Paging Dr. Breakup is the second book in Jillian David’s wonderful series, Yukon Valley, Alaska. This story features Deidre Steen. She is the Chief Nursing Officer at her hospital in Yukon Valley. Deidre is a widow, losing her husband to cancer and also losing her parents in a plane crash in the icy waters. Dr. Calvin Garrett, a best friend to Deidre and her husband, has just returned to their hometown to work temporarily in the ER and help his parents after his dad’s heart surgery. Cal had left after he felt he lost his chance with Deidre to his best friend following high school graduation. He had wanted more with her but felt he was second choice and didn’t press the issue. He didn’t return to see them until her husband was in hospice.

In their small town, all their family members and colleagues were playing matchmaker. So the couple devised a plan to fake date each other. Both were too busy with their jobs and other obligations to have a relationship. Even now, they have trouble scheduling dates and being able to both make them is a challenge. Deidre knows Cal’s time in Alaska is short term so she is afraid of getting involved and then losing him like has happened in her past. She realizes she does have feelings but is afraid to act on them. He also has always had feelings for her but never acted on them. The two share a kiss and notice the chemistry. It progresses to an intimate relationship but the couple haven’t identified if it is a fake or real relationship. Cal has begun to want something lasting with Deidre, however his career is in another state. She has feelings of guilt about being disloyal to her late husband. This makes for an uncertain future for them.

Cal had also hoped to convince his parents to sell their place and move to a larger city with better medical care facilities. They indicate they don’t want to leave. In addition there are some bad guys trying to force landowners in Yukon Valley to sell their property in order to claim the mineral rights. They are devious and using underhanded methods. This allows for suspense and angst.

This book is well written and a terrific story. I love the characters and the plot. Everyone is so genuine and likable. It is great seeing the people we met in the first book and catching up on their stories. Jillian used her medical background to share information about hospital policies, staff interactions and duties. It is an exciting and romantic story. I have given it 5 stars and I highly recommend it.

I was fortunate to have received an ARC from Tule Publishing in exchange for my honest review.

Welcome back to the Yukon Valley in Alaska for book two in the series based around the hospital and community we met in book one. These are very much medical stories so be prepared for blood. Tastefully done of course but lots of medical detail. We also push further into the suspense story arc that started in book one and I suspect will be finalised in book three if that's the last in the series.
Our protagonists are Deirdre Steen and Calvin Garrett. Along with Elijah they formed a close friendship group in their teen years until Calvin left town when they were eighteen to study for medicine and never came back for years and then only for brief visits.
By then Deirdre Steen had married Elijah and lived happily until Elijah's long illness and death five years ago. She's now the nursing supervisor at the hospital.
Now Calvin is back to encourage his parents to move away after his father had a health scare (see book one). He's taken a short term locum job at the hospital which will bring him into daily contact with Deirdre, given the small size of the hospital.
The interactions between Calvin and Deirdre are interesting and we come to wonder exactly what might have happened if Calvin hadn't left town eighteen years ago.
In spite of the long years apart, they do know each other in ways that surprise them and when they join forces against the matchmakers in the community, it brings them even closer.
There's a lot of emotional internal conflict with these two. It was fortunate that Calvin did come home to say goodbye to Elijah because he already had enough on his mind without adding that guilt.
The suspense arc has a very direct bearing on the development of Cal and Deirdre's relationship in this story.
I did enjoy seeing these two overcome their baggage to find out what was really important to them and once again the community plays a large part in the story.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Paging Dr Breakup had loads of promise, but struggled to deliver. I loved the setting in remote Alaska and I liked the characters. Deirdre is clearly a dedicated hospital administrator and cares about her small community. She’s also seriously avoiding a relationship for fear of being left. Her husband died five years before the story opens and her parents died years before that in a plane crash. Despite this, she’s always secretly loved Calvin Garrett, who was her husband’s best friend when they were teenagers. Calvin’s a Seattle ER doctor but has taken leave to return to Yukon Valley to help his parents after his father suffered a major heart attack and is working at Yukon Valley Hospital while he’s there.
Calvin has always loved Deirdre too, but left town rather than declare his feelings and face potential rejection. Of course, as soon as the hospital staff and the small local community find two singles of around the same age they begin matchmaking, to the horror of both Deirdre and Calvin.
The various tropes, forced proximity, fake boyfriend, second chance at love and husband’s best friend are all blended well and offer a glimpse of a well-rounded story. What lets this one down is the superabundance of telling rather than showing, a very slow-paced middle, choppy pacing, and loads of unnecessary details and medical acronyms. I knowe that these were explained in the author’s notes at the end of the book, but they were confusing and took me out of the story while I was reading. I also took offence at the ageist reference to Calvin’s father as “the old man”. He’s likely only in his mid-sixties, which is hardly old.

In an exciting follow up to Dr. Alaska, the second novel in Jillian David's Yukon Valley, Alaska series does not disappoint. Continuing to deliver on the adorable and many antics of the citizens of Yukon Valley and their traditions, Jillian David takes readers on another journey to protect the minerals on their land from the daunting plans of harmful prospectors.

I enjoyed the glimpses into the lives of the townsfolk as well as Maverick and Lee immensely!

Dee and Calvin's friends to lovers road was a lot different from other love stories with this trope. Deidre is a widow and her deceased husband was best friends with Calvin. At some points this plot was challenging to read as each character's worries about the relationship seemed to be coming from real and deep rooted anxiety about what it meant for Dee to move on with someone who was so close to her dead husband.

The intriguing subplots including the Breakup festival and the return of Randy, the menace, made this an enjoyable read. I also appreciated that it tackled some real life challenges such as dealing with loss of family and significant others, dealing with aging parents, navigating crossroads in terms of work and family as well as the support of close family and friends.

Overall I think that this book offers something to many readers such as a balm to the soul, a touching romance, a glimpse into the administrative side of a small hospital and clear cut enemy to root against.

Dear Reader,

This is Jillian – I’m writing this note to you!

This book might not be for everyone. If you’re looking for a gentle, low-stakes, without much of a fight for love, then keep scrolling. If you prefer your medical romances unrealistic and without the gritty details of real practice in rural Alaska, then this book isn’t for you. If you want low steam romance, then for sure this book isn’t for you!

My characters have to fight for everything in this book – survival in Alaska, the lives of their patients, and a second chance at a first love.

Oh, and I’m told by some of my colleagues that they will never look at our required annual training modules the same way ever again. Like, one of my physician friends needed to autoclave his eyeballs after reading THAT scene.

Without spoiling too much of this sweeping story, let me just say that if you like…

* seasoned characters
* medical care in the wilderness of Alaska
* relentless matchmakers
* open-door steam that is so good you’ll think you’re seeing the Northern Lights
* second chance romance
* and a brilliant fake-dating scheme that fools no one …

… then this book is for you.

Honestly, this was one of the most heart-healing books I think I've ever written. I’m so excited to see what you think!

Such an Alaskan delight:) Book 2 in this series set amongst the medical services in the Yukon Valley. Widowed Deirdre Steen is the hospital's chief nursing officer who hides behind procedure so no-one can get close to her. Enter Dr. Calvin Garrett, a childhood friend, and friend of her late husband.

Their attraction is obvious - to the whole town – so to stop the matchmaking Calvin and Deirdre pretend to date. There's plenty of history here and I loved watching these two circle each other as they deal with medical dramas, meddling staff and family. Calvin is all in from the start, but he's going back to Seattle. Deirdre's feelings are more complicated, and she's not leaving the valley. At the same time, there's some tricky stuff happening with land ownership and rare earth mining - a little light suspense which brings the town together and keeps the plot moving.

If I had a quibble, I'd have liked more Alaskan weather, and more of the sled dogs (we met them in Book 1). That said, there's still a strong sense of place, and Deirdre and Calvin are gorgeous together and they have a hard-won and satisfying HEA. I love Jillian's writing - there's plenty of medical drama, she keeps the pace up and gets inside the character's heads - wonderful!

Thank you Jillian David and Tule Publishing for the ARC. Opinions are my own.

This book is really good. I enjoyed reading it and loved the story line, This is the second book in Yukon Valley, Alaska Hospital Series. The three friends Deirdre, Elijah and Calvin were best friends that grew up together. And after college they all went their separate ways. Later Deirdre and Elijah got married and were very happy until he got sick and passed away. Calvin had come to see him only once while he was sick. And now five years later Widow Deirdre Steen is making sure that she is the best chief nursing officer that Yukon Valley Hospital has ever had. She paid for this honor by not really having a personal life and protecting her heart.
Calvin has decided to come home and help his parents. He is hoping they will sell their house and move back to Seattle with him. So he is here working at the hospital temporarily. And it seems as if the entire community is trying to set them up on a date. So they decided to get ahead of the crowd and pretend they are dating until he goes home to his regular job. Calvin and Deirdre have always been close and with the fake dating they are growing closer each day. But can they both open their hearts to see if there is something more then friends in this relationship? Will they open their hearts and take a chance on love?

This story checks all of my favorite things for an engaging read: medical setting, Alaska, main characters that I wish I could meet in person, and a bonus mystery subplot. Back in college it was the trio of Deirdre, Cal and Elijah; Cal went off into the world and Deirdre and Elijah were married. Deirdre is a widow when Dr. Calvin Garrett comes to work in the emergency room of Yukon Valley's hospital. Fake dating ensues as the two of them attempt to quiet the small town gossip situation. Ms. David carefully presents a whole raft of emotional drama that these two bring to the table; it is so adult and so convincing! I worked as an EMT myself, and I can attest to the terrific job she does in writing the medical and first responder situations. I loved her writing style in general; there are a lot of very creative descriptive images, many of them winter/Alaska/ice and snow specific, that completely tickled my fancy. Not sure I am allowed to specifically quote from the book, but there is one mention of the northern lights that is just perfect. I am looking forward to reading more of Ms. David's work!
I was given an ARC and happily volunteered to write a review.

Book review:
Paging Dr. Breakup by Jillian David

This is the second book in the series and just as good as the first one . Here we have best friends since childhood, there were 3 of them, but Deirdre married Elijah, unfortunately he passed away. So when circumstances call Calvin back to Yukon Valley and the only hospital there, him and Deirdre are now side by side working together after many years. Some hidden emotions resurface, and now they are adults. Can they keep their hands off of each other when they start fake dating? Not only are their emotions in play, but also their futures especially when they find themselves fighting against outsiders trying to takeover the land and the town due to elements found in the earth. This one is a little more serious than the first book and more drawn to the medical arena with some scenes, but still a page turner. Here is a scene that had me chuckling, "Apparently, the head injury didn't cause other organ damage. " 😂 These characters were amazing and I highly recommend their story. 5 stars 🤩

Dr Paging Dr. Breakup is the 2nd in the series but can be read as a stand alone.
I enjoyed reading more about the residents of Yukon Valley. Ms. David did it again with this book. It will not disappoint. I felt like I lived there among the other residents of this small town community.
This story involves Deidre and Calvin. They were childhood friends and although Cal would of liked to date Deidre but she dated their friend Elijah. Elijah and Deidre married and Cal ended up leaving town to be a Dr in Seattle. Now he's back and working at the same hospital as Deidre. Elijah has since passed after being in hospice.
Their story brings back feelings and regrets. Cal needs to work through not being there as much for Elijah. Deidre needs to work through being a widow for 5 years.
The town of Yukon Valley is back to being matchmaker. Cal and Deidre fake dating to make them happy but will it be all fake or not?
This was a great read and highly recommend, it's not necessary to read the first one but it helps with the characters.

I was given an ARC for my honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. It’s the second book in this series but it can be read as a stand-alone. I love everything about this remote Alaskan town. The meddling friends, family, and neighbors is always my favorite thing about small towns, or in this case, remote town. Deirdre had my heart. She is strong on the outside, doesn’t show how she’s truly doing. She’s independent and an amazing worker. I loved that about her. I also loved her softer side, the side she doesn’t let a lot of people see. Then you have Calvin, he’s back in town to help his parents. The two of them were best friends all through childhood. When she married their other best friend Cal left to follow his own path. But being back, around each other, I think that’s what they needed to heal. I loved how the author brought them back together. It was natural and of course there’s some drama. But we all love the drama! I definitely recommend this book. It’s attention catching and keeps you flipping the pages.

Paging Dr. Breakup by Jillian David is the second book in the romantic series titled, Yukon Valley, Alaska Hospital. This is Maverick’s, from the first book, sister who also works at the hospital as the chief nursing officer. A second chance romance for two childhood friends who have become workaholics. Deirdre Steen is a widow, and her late husband had been the third friend of the group.

What begins as a fake relationship to stop the small-town matchmakers from meddling starts to feel like something more. There is a huge amount of emotional baggage to be dealt with in this story. Deidre and Calvin learn to talk about the past so that they can move on with the present. Romance is the focus but personal insight and growth are also part of the story.

4 Stars

i received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. this is the 2nd in the yukon valley series. you don't have to have read the first, but some characters and references to the 1st story appear.
deirdre steen is the nursing administrator of the Yukon Valley hospital and the job takes up most of her life. she has been a widow for several years. an old friend, calvin, shows up to work in the emergency room for a locum tenens and they reconnect. the story shows the development of their renewed relationship.
the characters, setting, and plot are engaging. there are some funny references to the quality measurements required by the hospital.
since the author is a physician, the medical terminology and procedures are much more accurate than most romance novels. i enjoyed the book and look forward to reading the next in the series.

Well written, full of drama, love, chemistry, emotions, grief, romance, twists and turns. The storyline happens at a medical hospital in Yukon Valley where Deidre is the CNO there. She is now a widow and not dating. Her friends and family want her to start but she is able to stay away from that scene. Calvin is a traveling Doctor , who has returned to his hometown. He was a friend to both Deidre and her husband. He leaves when she chooses her husband over himself. He thinks it is easier at that time. When he arrives back, their friends and family decide to do some matchmaking for the two of them. Both have some issues that they need to deal with. Old friends become revived their love for each other. Glad that they get their happily ever after. Would recommend to others.

Heartbreaks and Second Chances
He loved her once, but she married his best friend. Years later, Calvin returns, just temporarily, to help at the hospital where Deirdre is chief nursing officer. To ward off the eager matchmakers in their small community, they agree to a fake dating arrangement. But is it really pretend? Could Deirdre have loved both Calvin and her late husband? And is she finally ready to let go of work long enough to let herself feel again?
I enjoyed this heartfelt, second-chance medical romance. The medical details added depth, and the romance carried both tenderness and longing. I recommend it to readers who enjoy heartwarming stories with a blend of medicine, community, and second chances at love.

Paging Dr Yukon by Jillian David.

Set in a hospital in Yukon Valley, the town folks are still in matchmaking moods. Woe betide anyone swept up in their path!
Deidre just wants to do her job and keep a low profile. Calvin, helping out temporarily to be near his folks, is of the same mind. Past memories between Calvin and Deidre tend to muddy the waters! Co workers and family match making makes things uncomfortable for both of them. Speaking of old friends it was neat to have some of the folks from Dr Alaska pop up in this book.
Following their budding relationship and the return of mine consortium make this book hard to put down.

Deidre Steen is a chief nursing executive in a small town hospital in rural Alaska. Her husband passed away on hospice five years ago & now her husband’s best friend & Deidre’s previous close friend, Cal, shows up back in town as a traveling physician from Seattle. Mix in some sketchy miners trying to take away Deidre’s land & Cal’s parents’ land to get precious minerals & you have an exciting, fast paced, sprinkling of spicy, medically accurate & fun book about grief, loss, trusting yourself, letting go of pain & letting in love. Thank you again to Dr . Jillian David for the ARC of her book!

Paging Dr. Breakup by Jillian David, , book two in the Yukon Valley series, is an enjoyable, charming, heartwarming, friends to lovers romance, with a bit of suspense. Diedre Steen grew up in the Yukon Valley with her best friends Cal and Elijah. Dr. Calvin Garrett left Alaska when it was clear his childhood friend, Diedre had fallen for his best friend, Elijah. He’s now back home to help his ailing father and accepted a temporary position at Yukon Valley Hospital, working in the emergency room of Yukon Valley's hospital. Deirdre, a widow, is the hospital administrator but as a nurse also helps out in crisis. To avoid all the hospital staff’s matchmaking attempts and quiet the small town gossip, Dee and Cal decide to pretend to date, until the Breakup Festival; when Cal is scheduled to return to Seattle. Between date interruptions, emergencies at the hospital, the scheming community, Dee and Cal have their work cut out for them. These two have undeniable chemistry, but past emotions and feelings plus miscommunication has caused these two doubts and concerns. When the time to leave nears, Cal will need to decide whether to stay or breakup and leave.

The Breakup Festival was an intriguing idea and appreciated the exploration of real life challenges such as dealing with loss of family and significant others, dealing with aging parents, navigating crossroads in terms of work and family as well as the support of close family and friends. Then there is the suspense behind the land in the Yukon Valley and the minerals hidden underneath; particularly on the mountain. Which brought the return of Randy, our shady villain was back to stir up trouble; giving a glimpse of the lives of the townsfolk and catching up with Maverick and Lee. I’m looking forward to the next story in the series.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

I must be honest I loved fake dating romances. This author did an incredible job telling Diedre and Calvin’s. Their story is a heartwarming read. They are being given a second chance at something that they thought would never happen. They decide to fake date to throw off the matching making staff at the hospital. What starts out as fake soon becomes so much more. Feelings become involve. What are they going to do? I loved it! It will entertain you, you will laugh, smile and most of all you will enjoy their story. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Grey’s Anatomy meets Northern Exposure with enough heat to melt the snow.

I’ve watched all the medical dramas, and this story delivers. It had believable action in the emergency room and the quirky characters of Northern Exposure and Grey’s Anatomy.
Diedre and Calvin squeezed my heart in their quest for a second chance at love. He’s loved her forever, but she married his best friend. Now she’s a widow and committed to her career and community. The two dance around the almost instant attraction as they deal with various small-town interlopers dying to fix all their friends’ relationships.

This author delivers heat, romance, and even a few laughs. I highly recommend this book.

Paging Dr. Breakup is book 2 in the Yukon Valley, Alaska series by Julian David. 4.5 stars

Back to Yukon Valley, up next is the Deidre Steen, chief nursing officer for the hospital and Dr Calvin Garrett. These two and her deceased husband were best friends til college when Calvin left and never returned, til a health scare brings him back for his aging parents. Now he’s temporarily working at the hospital. When they meet up it’s seems they have resolved issues…attraction that never dies, fake dating, town gossips/matchmakers, emotional drama and more…

I voluntarily read a copy of this book from Tule Publishing. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Loved returning to Yukon Valley, with the story of Deirdre, Chief Nursing Officer and Dr Calvin. Calvin is spending time working in the rural hospital. They have been friends forever and now are taking it to the next level of fake dating, or is it really fake. Can it be forever?

Loved the medical aspect, right on writing. Enjoyed the spring event, The Breakup Festival. Loved the sizzling chemistry that Deirdre and Calvin shared. Add in a little bit of suspense, it makes for a perfact read. This is the second book in the series, can be read as a stand alone . I can't wait to read Tuli,s story!
